The original Minecraft video was considered funny because it was playing on the type of humor that was popular at the time, which was silly faces screaming loudly mixed with cartoony graphic violence. This also means that it didn't age well at all, because that's a pretty dated style of humor. The video is actually a pretty neat time capsule of that period of the internet.Kids watching it may not have been super familiar with the concept of rape, so would have found the silly violence and loud noises taking their attention. Since these kids have grown up, and that style of humor is no longer funny and there to distract them, all they are left with is a weird video of Steve buttraping a creeper.
