If anything this is sort of common across many art forms, e.g. Harrison Ford is famous for being Han Solo but he fucking hated and hates Star Wars. When money is involved however it's not uncommon for them to keep going back to such projects precisely because they're lucrative or popular.In this case, it's an animated long-form shitpost about a video game, it being forgotten by its own maker is easy to see happening if that maker has other shit on his mind.
