I don't think it's as much the mini-games as the waiting period between updates.
1 year is too much, the story progression isn't nearly as fast paced and meaty enough as it is needed for people to have enough stuff to talk about for prolonged periods of time, so basically we've reached a point where people vent their frustrations and/or love with the game for the first couple of months after an update releases and then everyone moves on with their lives until later down the year.
Even pinkcuck's preview tactics have gotten much worse, I can't remember the last episode before this one where we only had 5 previews after 5 months of full-blown development.

I gotta admit that 4 months without any new Bella "canon" content from a new episode hurts my soul

I disagree, the relationships still have ways to go, I don't need a spectacular and intricate plot, just simple, well written (mostly) romances are good enough for me and that's what pinkcuck provides with his great character writing.
It's just that his god awful stubbornness and perfectionism are making the waiting periods between updates too long and hurting people's interest in the game.
Inb4 "but the minigames!", the minigames are fine, I could do without them since they take so much time to create but if you don't like them then play without them, the game literally gives you the choice.

I tried this just because I saw from your image you could give them piercings, its surprisingly high quality usage of renpy, custom looking menus and everything. I don't fuck with some of the faces and feel like some changes are needed there, since they look AI generated, and as such need touching up, but its still insanely high quality for what it is.

Problem is this is exactly how a grand milking starts - you make a very high quality initial product for a largely unfilled niche (x-men games in this case, with the only competition being a janky ass game that went off the deep end for no reason that you basically yoinked the premise from).

You tighten your damn seatbelt, pump some good initial updates, then as the money starts rolling in, you start rolling out and then the lies, the delays and the excuses begin. Maybe its a natural part of weg devving, who knows.

I played a demo for a game a while back that I'm really struggling to find on Google or any of the usual platforms. It's a 2D action platformer with light ero elements (in the demo), you start with your bus having broken down in the desert and you end up at an academy for soldiers. Yea, I was originally thinking that it would be my normal style and sex scenes would be more serious/spicy, but Im afraid that there would bee too much of a whiplash.
