Thread Prompt:
What was your first real airsoft gun (excluding shitty springers)? How good was it, what did you spend, range, etc etc.
>>
>>65104
I personally got a hand me down combat machine (original one) from my brother witch was missing a mag release. I quickly replaced it and it was a good first gun, it lasted me about a year, before I upgraded.
>>
>>65104
I had a shitty AEG AK-47 that was all plastic. No idea about power, price etc it was so many years ago. I just used it to shoot in my parents backyard with.
>>
>>
g&g m4 or lancer tactical m4? Both are around the same price, but which one is better?
>>
What is it with people angry at guns that are good? Like pole stars or the ssg-1?
>>
>>65154
Airsoft is meant for backyard larp and hardcore larpy wannabe stolen valor sims. Anything else is pointless and should be shunned by the community as paintball is objectively better in any other way.
>>
>>65154
>pole stars or the ssg-1
Poorfags who can't afford to play paintball.
>>
is double eagle any good? Comes up any time I'm googling brand name guns, and these look identical to other known brand guns, but at a fraction of the price. Are they just chinese knockoffs? Are they worth a look at?
>>
>>65104
>first real airsoft gun
One of those JG G36Ks way back with the plastic bushings. I tried to upgrade it and was unable to get it back together.
>first airsoft gun I skirmished with
Echo 1 M16a4. Ran that one for a while but holy shit the barrel wobble was so bad with those old plastic bodies.
>first "real" airsoft gun that wasn't shit
G&G m14 that came stock at 1j. I used that thing until I eventually stripped the piston. Even at 1j it shot so much better then everyone else since this was before flat hops and R hops. Those G&G green buckings were amazing back then.

>>65154
What is it with people angry at guns that are good? Like pole stars or the ssg-1?
Airsoft is a fairly pay to win hobby. Sure a better player can make up for it, but having a gun with double the range or 3x the firerate makes people butthurt.
>polarstars/HPA
Comes down to a system so easily tuned idiots can do it, so in turn some people abuse it. Some stigma also carries from when they first came out. Field owners and event organizers did not know about joule creep for the most part, so you would have guys chronoing at 1.5j w/ .2g and then swap to .3g+. This would put them over 2j normally which is a huge jump, but then they would also be shooting 30rps+. DSG builds existed at that time, but like I mentioned HPA is almost retard proof so anyone could do it.
>ssg-1
because airsoft is meant to be based around real firearms and the ssg-1 takes after paintball. It originally even was meant to come stock with a blade trigger like a paintball gun.
>>
>>65164
>double eagle
Thats a name I haven't heard in a while, but they are bottom of the barrel with Valken and Lancer Tactical.
>>
>>65168
I found an aeg m4 by double eagle with all the features for only 70$, think its worth it? I kinda want to try it just to see what its like. Although even the photos of it looks like toy quality rather than hobby quality.
>>
>>65180
The cheapest AEGs I can think of that are worth spending money on are the following
>apex m4
http://classicarmyshop.com/apex-fast-attack-ris-m4-carbine-aeg-airsoft-gun-black-polymer.html
>specna arms

>cyma sportline
https://www.evike.com/products/74458/
https://www.evike.com/products/74454/

All are miles better for only a bit more money.
>>
>>65104
Dboys M4. I broke the selector switch in a hilarious way that made it an AUG instead, half pull single shot, full pull for auto. Sold it on craigslist for $25 more than I paid for it and picked up a Combat machine. That was about 5 primary guns ago
>>
>>65104
My first is the asg sportline sniper, I use it for plinking in the back yard, since none of my local fields have the layout for proper sniping, they're all cqc plywood cities. The nearest forested airsoft field is like a 6 hour drive away.
>>
>>65155
actually thats a point, dose paintball have milsim events / fields? Or is painbtall only on speedqb fields?
>>
>>65193
Yes, ever heard of Oklahoma d-day? I’m think they still do it every year check it out. There’s other local ones as well
>>
What are the best kind of shoes / boots for an outdoor plywood maze?

I need something with more grip than what I have. I'm just wearing normal running shoes, but I'm slipping like crazy on all the bbs, since they don't clean up the field ever. Its not like soft dirt, its like sun blasted hard pack with bbs on top acting like bearings.
>>
Went to my closest field last weekend. Had a blast. A single speedsofter showed up with one of those rainbow tinted paintball masks.
>>
>>65224
dye mask
>>
>>65224
Did you kill him?
>>
>>65193
>>65198
There is Fulda Gap as well if that counts.

>>65213
look up trail running shoes, they are pretty much running shoes with more grip. If you want to go with some light boots Merrell Moab 2s can be found for around $100.
>>
>>65193
Paintball was originally all woodsball. Speedball and it's fruity colors came years afterwards, similar to how airsoft is trending. Paintball got away with it because paint guns almost never took after real firearms. Then they stopped calling them paint guns. They were "markers", like how Nerf guns are "blasters".
>>
>>65104
Umarex HK UMP non blowback AEG. Did some work under the hood on it and slapped a mosquito mold grenade launcher on it for the LULZ. All my mags are written on with silver sharpie, one saying Epstein Didn't Kill Himself all over the mag. Great gun and have done 2 milsims with it.
>>
Does anyone know of a sound-activation circuitry kit that you can add to a drum mag? Don't really want to add another pressure switch. Prefer to just not even think about it.
>>
>>65241
I know the CA box mags and some others have sound activated motors.
>>
>>65104
AW custom HX22, Ive only had it for about a week, but its a nail driver out of the box. Im going to try and play this weekend at the indoor course near me which is apparently one of the bigger ones in the midwest

One of my magazines doesn't feed every time.
Does anyone know what it could be?

If its an easy fix or adjustment I'd like to try it, since its a pain to order and have to wait for a new one to arrive. Plus they're not cheap, and this mag is basically brand new. I shot a couple hundred rounds through it to see if I could make it feed better. But I have no idea what I'm doing.

Its a tokyo marui mk23. A tiny peice of plastic has broken off but it doesn't appear to have effected the feeding. I have checked the internals of the gun itself and there is no damage or debris.

If I shoot fast, it seems to feed fine, but if I take slow pot shots, then it will some times not feed, but if I tap the bottom of the mag it then feeds again.

some mags just feed like shit. are they all the same brand of mag?
>>
>>65391
yes, its just this one that feeds like this, but I need it since I only have a couple, and I'm trying not to but expensive parts just for them to stop working.

What are the best paints for polycarbonate and aluminum guns?

Wanna do a quick and fancy camo job, but want something that wont immediately rub off when I handle it.
>>
>>65400
You can try hydro dipping using spray paint and water
You can find lots of tutorials on youtube
>>
>>65389
I'm fairly new to the hobby so take this as you will, but one of my extended mags was feeding badly until I started loading it through the top against the tension of the follower. I think most people pull the follower to tension then speed load from the bottom. its tricky to get the angle right but if done correctly really sets up the BBs to launch.
>>
>>65234
can you catch me up on all the airsoft shit in the market now? i have not played since freshman year of highschool and am about to grad uni. what all cool shit have they come out with?
>>
>>65417
Nothing really ground breaking in like a technological way, but everything has been refined over the years.

The general quality of the guns and accessories has gone up (excluding the ever prevalent chinese knockoff crap).

There has been a couple of guns released that directly take influence from paintball guns and paintball style play has started to bleed into airsoft. (speedqb) Look up SSG-1 by G&G, the hate this gun gets is hilarious.

A lot of youtube channels have been getting really popular over the last couple of years, love them or hate them, I think they're good for the industry over all because they bring in lots of new players to the sport. Most of them normies, but enough new diehards are born to keep the sport alive.

Where the paintball industry has been pushing for standardization of equipment and organized tournament style events, Airsoft has gone the opposite way, in that everything is evolving in random directions from following the rule of cool, which is good because it means lots of different play styles to match your personal preference, (cqb, speedsoft, milsim, ect), but its bad cause it means everything is spread out thin and no one can agree on anything big enough to try to get the sport realized like paintball has been doing. Although this is probably partially due to the occasional idiot getting killed by cops, which causes all airsoft stuff to get demonized, but I doubt that will have any real effect in the long run. Unless you're in australia, where even nerf guns have to be registered as a leathal weapon. (I'm not joking, you can find news clips on youtube and its hilarious.)

I cant wait for the day we get Glocks and 1911s that dont feel like melted hotwheels.
Other parts are also still sadly made of potmetal like the stock latches on AKs.
>>
>>65436
>I cant wait for the day we get Glocks and 1911s that dont feel like melted hotwheels
The licensed stuff looks and feels great because VFC. It also shoots like shit because VFC. Best pistols are still TM & KSC imo.
>Other parts are also still sadly made of potmetal like the stock latches on AKs.
We now have LCT and E&L AKs which are built like tanks. I had a LCT AK74MN and the stock locked up superbly and was nothing like the CYMA ones. Overall cheap shit is still cheap with dubious metal castings. The stuff on the higher side has improved drastically though.
>>
>>65439
>I had a LCT AK74MN and the stock locked up superbly and was nothing like the CYMA ones.
I have one too. The stock latch bent by dropping the gun. Not acceptable. I should be able to smash it against a tree to no effect.

honestly with how miserable it is to be fogged out. i wouldn't even care.

Regarding Glocks, I've heard interesting things about GHK's approach to it, though the fact that it's $400USD and proprietary is a bit of a bitch - I can't wait to hear from people that've gotten their own hands on the things though

>>65442
Try being someone that has such a wide glasses size that anything short of a full-blown paintball mask won't fit - I agree with the sacrificing cheek weld issue though, shit sucks

Have you thought about not being poor and buying something available with built in prescription lenses or inserts

There are cheap yet functional goggles out there with insert capabilities - would rather not have to go through the whole ordeal of getting custom inserts made for a rather niche purpose though, at least not just yet
For now, it's the only choice I have, even if it means sacrificing a cheek weld
>>

>would rather not have to go through the whole ordeal of getting custom inserts made for a rather niche purpose though
Walmart makes them.
>>
>>65448
Not to mention that the price for a pistol mag is 70 FUCKING DOLLARS. What the fuck are they smoking?

People too poor for paintball. They really don't fit into airsoft but they are too poor to spend the money on a high end marker so they shit up skirmish games getting a 1/1 kd and never playing defense.

Most of the time you have to make it yourself. You would paint the rifle and get a pattern down, then you would wrap it with some 3d camouflage netting. You can find a ton of netting all over the place for hunting.

I plan to paint it as well, but I still want something to break up the shape.

I want to restart my airsoft experience, I first got a dye mask and kwa mod 2, I would like to reapproach and go more milsim-ish after I realized I liked gear and camo instead of running fast. There are two fields I constantly visit, one inside and one outside so I would like to run a p* of some sort for the convenience of switching FPS. tldr does any one have any m4, chest rig, and hpa setup suggestions?
>>
>>65724
Because I have one of these, and its very nice, and very accurate, but to use the scope you basically have to press your face right up into the lens, which makes it very awkward, cause you basically have to rest the rear of the gun under your arm instead of shouldering, and its not as stable.

>Was thinking about trying to play sniper with an aeg
My suggestion is get a high end AEG with good air seal and then get a quality barrel (EdGI, Lambda, or PDI the maple leaf crazy jet barrel is a meme), maple leaf MR bucking, and a Maple Leaf MR nub. If you run .4g bbs you should still be able to reach out 250ft or so at 1.5j. Bioshot and HPA both make nice heavy bio bbs that I like to use, or if you can get your hands on BLS .4g those are great as well.

>>65725
If this is your first HPA setup my suggestion would be to pick up a prebuilt HPA system from either Amped Airsoft or Airsoft Junkiez. I really don't know your budget, but I would actually suggest getting the Wolverine Inferno Gen 2 or over a P* Fusion Engine or F2 unless you are aiming for the end all be all best possible build. The Jack is not worth it IMO as the Inferno Gen 2 is much better at a slightly higher price point.

At minimum get a new bucking, the maple leafs are great. As for chest rig that is a huge preference thing. I personally like plate carriers with foam inserts for HPA setup. so the tank doesn't bother you as much. LBT/LBX offers some nice plate carriers that start at around $160. For backpacks which you will need for the tank I use either a cheap condor.

Plenty of people use IR lasers with NV in milsim events. Else most of the time people just use bright ass flashlights to blind opponents, and use a sudo tracer unit.

>>65638
Chinese knockoffs are a gamble. You might get lucky and it's half decent. Or they might be impossible to adjust and never center. It's gotten to the point where it's so infuriating that I'm willing to spend $100-150 on a real optics. For things like acogs and eotechs, I'm just getting the knockoffs for the looks.

>>65653
I think they're worth it. Couple dollars each from China is worth the rail attachment. Then >>65704 and cut your own custom sizes and replacements.

It depends. Almost all retailer pages and reviewers will tell you.

>>65752

What are people's opinions on weekend warrior types?
Like, people with basic AEGs who don't take anything too seriously and just toss extra mags in their cargo pants pockets or whatever
>>
>>65807
These are the people we should all strive to be. Play the game to have fun.

People who tryhard or just take it too seriously in general, especially dorks who claim to be special forces with 300 confirmed kills need to knock it off. Or tough guys who get mad that they suck at toy gun fights and try to pick actual fights for no reason.

Guys who claim to be strategy masters and try to tell everyone else what to do also need to shut the fuck up, because no one cars. I hate these guys the most. If you're not at a real milsim event with assigned ranks, knock it off.

Speedsofters I don't care about, they're having fun in their way, and a 1/1 kd ratio isn't going to change the game, and you'll never run into these guys outside of a cqb style field anyway.

Also I would say give larpers a break, the guys who do the whole ghillie sniper shtick, the shotgun guys, the super stealth knife dudes, or whatever silly weapons you want to use, they're not hurting anything.

I think its more fun to have diverse weapon classes, (out side of special game modes like pistols only or something), on a field instead of everyone doing the same thing, it lets more people do what they want how they want.
>>
>>65807
They're fine as long as they aren't trying to play paintball. Like this dude >>65811 I don't really care too much how players dress, as long as they don't wreck the game. Not everyone can afford $1000 in clothes. Others really love their MultiCam® underwear.

I don't care for the speedsofters and their suicidal tactics. I think I wouldn't mind it so much if they dressed the part, had explosives strapped to their bodies and yelling in arabic as they run around corners trying to cap as many people before going down.
>>
>>65815
>They're fine as long as they aren't trying to play paintball.

>>
>>65816
speedsoft is literally just using paintball strats, prefiring every door only to run in and kill trade with everyone.
>>
>>65831
I didn't really picture speedsoft faggots and weekend warrior type people having any overlap
>>
>>65832
maybe not, but I see a lot of speedsofters usually in just a t-shirt / hoodie and cargo pants, pockets full if highcaps, who just run around spraying everything, then getting salty when people who can aim tagging them out with a single well placed shot.
>>
>>65832
at my field we all get along. the speedqb guys are a bit older than the 16 year old faggots that make youtube vids with faggot tier music blasting. these guys are pretty cool. they are honorable but they fight really good when you're against them, plus they are great sports. they even came up to us to kick the shit after the game. IMO they just choose to be meta because its fun. Not because they want to make everyone feel bad. however the younger crowds of speed soft take it the whole other way and act like mentally retarded goblins. Most aeg welding weekend warrior hoodie and jeans types are usually the ones who bitch the most and seem to forget rules the most. just my observation though.

Is NGRS a meme? It seems great once you've got it fully tricked out but it's so expensive and all the parts are so expensive too.
>>
>>65922
AFAIK, it's 100% just a meme; unless you run the thing bone-stock, you end up needing to basically replace every single functional component on the gun so that it won't break down, and from what I've heard the costs can get to the point of exceeding things like GBBRs in price
As far as I'm aware, it's a Japanese gun designed for the Japanese market, and thus is designed to work within their restrictions and standards

So in my opinion, yes it's a meme and no it's not worth it, but obviously I'm not the only one with an opinion on the matter

I wouldn't get one if you are not interested in the system and its features. Like if you aren't interested in auto stop or the recoil its not worth buying into.

And yes, the parts to upgrade NGRS are expensive and there are not many techs out there who feel confident working on them. This is coming from a guy who owns 2 of the SCARs with upgrades. I do all the work myself so I don't mind dishing out the cash for just the parts.

MTWs are nice due to how easy they are to work on, pic related. I would suggest getting a forged model with the premium electronics. It is worth having the premium stuff for ease of tuning. They come with ASG 6.03mm barrels which are meh, but are fine after a polishing. They have huge hop windows wich works well with the maple leaf bucking it comes with. They really like heavy BBs so I wouldn't suggest running anything under .32g, I personally run .4 or .45g.

As a warning like all things they are not perfect. The Phoenix hop is really cool with its ability to tune lip tension which can improve air efficiency, shot to shot consistency, and midcap syndrome. It also is an absolute bitch to set up and a lot of people will use the cheaper hop up out of the billet version, myself included, over it.

TL;DR runs good stock and if you want to fuck with stuff at a later date, its one of the best HPA setups for it.

>>
>>65722
Lel same here
>>
>>66511
If you want to go the HPA route and already have a gun with a nice body like a VFC, LCT, Real Sword, or G&P you could always send it off to Airsoft Junkiez or Amped and have them do an install. If you are not going to use the proprietary mags for bolt stop with the MTW there is no performance difference between it and an inferno gen 2 in a random build. Like I mentioned before a benefit I like is how easy it is to tune and fuck with the MTW. On the other hand you will also see a ton of people make their MTW shoot like shit in the owners group and them complain.
>>
>>66518
Not a burger and I do want to use the bolt stop. I'm not sure if I want MTW over something else. Would probably be fine with an AEG but seems like you still have to tweak and tune the ones in this price range like Krytac/VFC Avalon and I have HPA stuff for my other guns so might as well. There's other AEG models I'd like over an AR15 too.
>>
>>66524
There are pleanty of HPA shops still if you are a euro. I know pow6air is a big one over there and do some neat builds like a hpa vfc mp7 (aeg body). I personally like HPA over AEGs simply for reliability. For my inferno engines I break them down, clean and lube every 30k rounds or so. That being said the one drawback with HPA is power density, which is why I am building an AEG for 40h events that don't offer air fills.

Hm, HPA MP7 would be interesting too. Maybe I'll consider it instead. I planned to get the CQB semi locked MTW version and put a GL on it.
>>
>>66568
By semi locked you can mean the German version, or the reaper m mechanical version. I owned the mechanical version and switched over to the electronic inferno. With mechanical the trigger pull is meh, and can be hard to tune with it being closed bolt. On the other hand no batteries or worrying about rain.
>>
>>66547
you seem insecure. its ok if you're gay m8. its 2021.
>>
>>66595
Okay, will probably get the electrical one too. Outside of obvious HPAvsCO2 points, what do you think about pic related?
i like the ide of a self-contained HPA build and passing it off as AEG. Our community still has a lot of anti-HPA poorfags that get salty when they see a line.
>>
>>66614
dang it.
>>
>>66614
>>66616
I haven't personally used the wraith system, but I know some people who use it for events like MSW. You will have more FPS fluctuations then a HPA setup, but nothing terrible. The wraith has +-5fps while a nicely tuned HPA has +-1fps. According to wolverine you can expect around 500 shots on a single 33g co2 cartridge. Another option if you want an air stock is one of the setups that utilize a 13ci HPA tank. Wolverine, Redline, Polarstar, and Mancraft all make one with the Polarstar UGS w/ the G&P stock looking the best IMO. The 13/3000k tanks get around 1000 shots and are fairly cheap, but there are some 13/4500 and 15/4500 tanks that fit which bump your shots per tank to 1500~1800 shots per tank.
>>
>>66616
It looks like one of those meme edits of a gun that shoots yourself
>>
>>66634
Yeah, but they start to look a bit silly with 13ci in the stock. I think I'll consider getting the wraith too as it would open up more possibilities for minimalistic gear and two point slings. I'm a sucker for realistic mag capacity, so even if I carry 7 mags with 30 bbs each, I won't have to worry about changing the cartridge before I run out of BBs, could even bump it up to 7x60 for casual games.
I'm not a full-auto kinda guy so I think I'd be happy with CO2.

Which manufacturer makes reliable AKs? Metal AK is preferable.
>>
>>66716
Typically the first two choices are CYMA for budget, and LCT for higher end. Both come with stamped steel bodies, and fairly reliable internals. While there are other manufactures, either they have drawbacks compared to both companies at the same price point, or are worse for more. For the CYMA series make sure it is a VFC clone, and as a heads up their folding stocks typically have a little wobble. LCT has nicer bodies & furniture then CYMA, but do come with some anemic motors. LCT also offers a lot more options then CYMA at this time since CYMA has been focusing on bringing AR models to market. Avoid the EBB LCT models as EBB is a meme and will just destroy your gearbox eventually.

Cyma steel bodies for budget. LCT and E&L for slightly more money. Just dont be a dumbshit like people on reddit who forget the steel bodied gun in a bag after a rainy gameday and then whine how the surface is rusted.

>>66727
The EBB on lct guns does not break that easily because they use fuckhuge forged/milled piston and very large gear ratio combined with fat as fuck gearbox reinforcements on typical break points. Downsides are that how it works prevents you from using precocking if you dont want the slide to look like its an open bolt gun and the cycling rate is much more slower than NBB ones.

Biggest suggestion is to invest in nice gel cups to replace the ones that come with the headsets. The TL;DR on why I use them is mainly for pyro. Didn't understand a word out of your gibberish but /ak/ trannies often have a hard-on for 'manly' hobbies like guns, especially with gacha trash that fuels them like Girls' Frontline.
They're always shitting their pants under artwork of anime girls with guns and wishing someone made a realistic military shooter with girls. It's just natural they'd be attracted to airsoft, especially if they look at the pictures of cute models from Taiwan or Japan... or even cross-dressing dudes.

How do you bypass needing a UKARA or site membership? Most shops in the uk like PatrolBase require UKARA at checkout or else you have to have 2 tone. What websites don’t require this?

Also, if worst comes to worst can I just use some white spirit to strip the paint off? I know it’s ‘illegal’ but aslong as you have some reasonable defence for having your RIF, your good.
>>
>>67138
https://www.fatbobs.co.uk/ only require you to tick a box, no UKARA needed seemingly, there are probably similar retailers. Some retailers may accept other non-UKARA forms of evidence that you are a skirmisher (photos, bookings, but it's a pain in the arse for them, so few will be bothered to accommodate this). Anecdotally none of the guns I've ordered from Europe have been stopped by customs, whereas from HK all but one have been scanned (surface mail Vs air mail have differing levels of security I guess). However, Brexit etc. might have changed this. You could two-tone then strip it, nobody gives af. Or just UKARA and order whatever.

I mean I run a small chest rig but I don't consider myself a speedsofter.
>>
>>67095
JPC is far from speedsoft, it's a plate carrier that the military uses, way closer to milsim than speedsoft. Besides, speedsoft is more of a playstyle and even if you run a small chest rig, unless your all black with a dye mask and a cqb gun no one will think your sperdsofters.

JPC is pretty much the most epic route you can go unless your trying to roleplay as some historical group or something

If you want a lightweight kit without being speedsoft look at getting a chest rig. Most nice ones are able to hookup to a minimap or backpack. As for "plastic holsters I guess you want rigid mag pouches? Most of the higher end rigs allow for kydex inserts which give the rigidity and mag retention.

That's a damn nice setup, though I preffer the pistol being on my belt or higher up so it's easier to grab and the muzzle doesn't rub into the ground, but drop legs do look a bit cooler to be fair so it's completely up to you, by the way where did you get the helmet?

>>67277
I believe the AT3 is 4x but it is a bit pricey, and I heard that primary arms makes a 6x before. However, realistically, your not gonna need more than a 1x aside from maybe target identification in which 3x would be more than enough. You probably wouldn't be able to hit what you need to see with a 6x so your better of getting some binoculars or something

Grey-Shop, i also got the Gorka from there as well. Only place i could find that would have reasonable shipping times to europe. There are lots of chinese sellers on ebay also selling the same K6-3 helmet, but the shipping times is usually 30+ days. Quality is very nice on it.

I was considering buying an AKS74U but all of the LCT ones are out of stock where I live, so i thought of something- can I just buy an AK74 and unscrew the stock and use it like that when going to CQC games? Is there any damage that could be inflicted on the rifle while doing this? Other thing, is there any way i can use a folding stock with an airsoft fixed stock AK like in this video?

In the long run yes. Your sweatshop gorka will wear down faster and after 3 or so games you'll notice the stitching coming apart. You'll have to buy multiple more sweatshop gorkas to keep the kit aesthetic you want, or just wait and search and get a real one.

so ive got an (LCT) AK74 and i want to put a PSO-1 on it, is this possible stock? ive heard that there is a brass pin on the scope itself that you can yank out and then it will fit, is this true? It's the one in picrel. it doesn't seem to have a stop pin at the front of the scope, though...
>>
>>67571
this is the mount it has
>>
>>67571
>>67574
I have not tried to mount a real PSO-1 on my lct, but all the other optics I have used designed for a normal AK mounting rail have fit just fine.
>>
>>67580
What optics have you successfully been able to use with your AK? could you post a picture? i'm worried that pso only fits svd mounts...
also
>real pso
no way in hell i'm spendin 300+ USD on a real PSO scope, the one i'm looking at is a "cheap" (165 USD) Vector Optics version
>>
>>67583
Don't really have any pictures on me as I don't use my ak that much. But a list of things I have fit on it from either playing or fucking around with some of my Real Steel stuff.
>Real PKO
>Zenitco rail mount
>MWI rail mount & MWI 30mm red dot mount
>rs regulate mount
All of that is designed for a normal AKM/AK74 side mount, not a svd mount like you are worried about. Most of the results from googleing are people using the Vector optics version with a VSS or VAL which uses svd mounts iirc.

Your LCT AK has a standard AK side rail
That chinkshit pso-1 knockoff utilizes an SVD mount. Therefore it will not fit on your AK.
>>
>>67571
This is just random googling but since you can't pull out that SVD stop pin I imagine you would have to grind it down to fit it. Without stop pins the sight might slide. Also SVD sights are further back than AK sights when mounted on AKs.
>>
>>67594
Fuck. Thanks. Do you know where i could get a magnifying scope that fits on the AK side mount? Does that even exist? i might have to go with a picatinny rail that locks on to the side rail, depending on the price and availability... fugg

>>67605
Oh, this is very helpful. Didn't know about that. Now I just need to know where to find those. On the topic of finding stuff... I read that a POSP scope would definitely fit on an AK, but couldn't find those either, do you have any idea of where i could look for them? But the bottom part would certainly be a much better option, since there's a "local" (300km) shop that sells those, so i'd rather buy that one and then the bottom part than the whole scope from god knows where.

Theres plenty of places that sell AK side mount optics and picatinny rail adapters. Try ebay or ivan tactical, they ship internationally. If you're located in the US there are more places to get real and fake PSO-1s and other optics.

Yes, the bases are actually swappable, but to do that you would need an optic with the AK/Universal/MTK-83 mount which kind of defeats the point as you would have two optics at that point
