Is there a sport so extreme that it would be guaranteed to kill somebody?
Somebody like this 50 year old woman as depicted in the photograph?

Base jumping unironically. Your life expectancy drops to about 10 years from when you start base jumping.

Fighting without gloves is extreme enough

It's not even that good for you unless you wear head gear

Bare knuckle boxing somebody at equal bodyweight and skill is not dangerous at all. Gloves weren't made to protect anybody. They're actually made to hit harder because nobody would watch boxing if it wasn't for knockouts.

They were originally used to keep the boxers hands from becoming useless after a 5 year career because of hairlines, boxers and other types of damage.
Gloves protect hands, and boxing deaths went way up after they were introduced because they allowed the fighters to wail on each other longer and harder

Actually BASE/wingsuit. Other anon is serious. I can’t think of another sport where more pros are dead than this one. Perhaps mountaineering, too. I would hazard a guess that most people who are mountaineers have a dead mountaineer friend/mentor.

>>

statistically it's safer but there's certainly many chances you have to make a mistake that'll kill you

you also have a lot more people base jumping than cave diving

Rally racing, google search Group B

There is no track, The isle of man has no speed limits, so, once a year, bike racing is held. Its similar to rally racing where each driver sets off one at a time cause they're really only racing for best time. The race is a lap of the island, on public roads, which are only as smooth as any other public roads.

The Reno Air Races.

Sumo sort of counts. The sport itself won't kill you, but all the weight you put on will.
