Mine happened back in the days of film. I've jumped so high on skis that my friends watching that I would surely be dead upon impact, you're not supposed to fly 50 feet in the air in Connecticut.

I also took a tree square in the chest skiing Stowe VT once while skiing major jones. Helicoptered off of a fallen tree and when I landed, my ski got taken aside by a sapling, bringing me square in line with a tree stump that was 15" wide and like 30 feet tall. I escaped that one uninjured, somehow.

I went ice skating this week, banged up an elbow real good, lucky I didn't fracture something

Not sure if they are exactly /XS/ but:
>cycling
Front wheel skipped over a rock at 50 km/h, stabilized but flew out of the corner.
Went through the ditch at full speed and flew over the bars.
Surprisingly mild injuries, some wounds and bruises, rode the damaged bike home with one leg.
>motorcycling without gear
Idiot in the group thought indicating left means "pass me on the left"
He landed in the ditch and had to go to the hospital.
I rode home, had a bruised wrist for a while and the pegs where bent out of shape.
>>
Injuries over the years:
>skateboarding
3x sprained ankles on EACH ankle
bruised rib
>downhill longboarding
lit on fire after getting thrown and a lighter blew up in my pocket from grinding the pavement
>surfing
concussion from another surfer's unleashed board flying into my dome
>snowboarding
two broken ribs from a skier stopping dead middle of a narrow trail around a nearly blind corner leading into a cat track.

On another note, gear has saved my ass several times. On my last trip a child's ski dropped from her bindings right on to my head, knocked me down and cracked my helmet but I was okay, most sore thing was my wallet for buying a new helmet on mountain.
>>
>>4841
Yea, cracked a few helmets and made great use of protectors over the years as well.
Most severe case was when I got knocked out for a few minutes (not quite sure) in a crash against a car and somehow didn't break a bone.
Wouldn't be able to post here without the gear.

I crashed my dirt bike when trail riding with my dad I was like 14, I was going too fast and couldn't brake and turn in time and fell down a drop and landed back first into a stump. I had no pain when it happened, fast forward and I am 25 now and have chronic back pain with multiple back conditions that they believe started from the crash :)

I got a few
one time in Teakwondo when I was 15. I slipped while round-housing and fell on my side, full body weight.
Felt every organ in my abdomen. I was good after a few mins.
(not me) Another time in the same dojo, a kid I knew from school took the sparring too seriously. He tried kicking my head (jump, front, etc.). I elbowed that cunt’s ankle in the middle of one of his jump kicks. Was out of the game for a few minutes.

"On day 11, Ouchi lost his composure, proclaiming “I am not a guinea pig!” The lead physician who treated Ouchi and Shinohara, Dr. Kazuhiko Maekawa, admitted to the media in October that Ouchi’s dose of radiation was lethal. However, under Japanese law, for Ouchi to be euthanized, he would need to give consent, and be near-death. Some of Ouchi’s last written messages, after he was hooked up to a ventilator and lost the ability to speak, expressed desire to go home. Whether Maekawa kept Ouchi alive as a “guinea pig” or not, doctors were legally obligated to treat Ouchi until nothing more could be done."

Back in October I was MTBing and my handle bars clipped a tree throwing me back first into another tree at 30km/h. I was only able to walk about 5 meters (being assisted by two people) before collapsing on the ground. Turns out I fractured two ribs and crush fractured two lumbar. In the next few days I nearly passed out a couple of times from vomiting, couldn't get out of bed in under 10 minutes, and didn't poop for over a week.

by far the worst was when I snapped my femur in half and shattered my kneecap snowboarding when I was 17. Happened so fast I just remember going for a rainbow rail and felt like I was going way to fast then I slammed into it and my knee and femur took the entire impact. Had to have a titanium rod put in for the length of my femur screwed into my hip and a prosthetic kneecap on the other end was in a bed almost completely immobile for about 4 months and was over a year before I could walk.
The painkillers sent my already addictive personality into overdrive and I ended up on heroin for almost 8 years and only quit just over 2 years ago.
Still hadn't stepped on a snowboard/skated since then but seeing this board pop up has made me want to get back into it. I'm gonna try to hit the slopes in a few weeks before winter is over, definitely gonna take it slow since I still have pain as it is and I'm not even close to the same shape I was when I was a teenager but I feel like I gotta give it a try maybe if that goes well enough I'll get back on a skateboard this spring.

It's hard to get any source on this case that's not in japanese.
What I know about this case it's from a brazilian channel, this dude had to buy a book written by NHK journalists about the case, and yes there is at least one photo of him but nothing close to this image (which is real btw, but not from Hiroshi's case), actually his body itself can't be seen, he's all covered with medical stuff. The doctors were way less sadistic than the rumors reports as well, it was more of a family to try to keep him alive IIRC. Also, he did not scream to let him die in his final hours -he was already unconscious for several weeks at this point
The forementioned book is A Slow Death, here's the link to buy it

> But you could poop after a week though, right?
Yes and by god it was the biggest unbroken log I have ever laid.

> did you have to be sedated to sleep?
They gave me pain killers, but it was low tier stuff because the doctors in my country are super afraid of people getting addicted to pain killers. I would wake up several times a night from the pain.

For far longer than he should have.

Dude took an unbelievably huge does of radiation. Instantly destroyed ALL of his DNA, which is not actually instant death since you still have proteins actually making the cell work.

Japanese government turned him into an experiment into how long a human can survive with no functioning DNA and constant state of the art medical care. His last words, and likely conscious thoughts, were begging his "care"givers to let him die as he was in an unbelievable amount of pain. Dude was kept in a hellish prison of his own body for a LONG time.

Like as parts of his body failed, they would amputate and remove them. Did a lot of work to keep him conscious so they could ask him questions about his state as he died.

Not even fucking creepypasta dude. Shit happened IRL and was government backed.

My biggest injury when I was a kid. We had the inflatable part of a tractor tire, which was absolutely huge and me and my friends would use it as a kind of trampoline to do all kinds of flips and shit and you would always land on the ground, possibly breaking your neck if you landed on your head, that's what made it extreme. Anyway, a fat friend of mine and I choreographed a jump in which he would boost me for extra air by having us both jump on the tire at the same time. It felt like I got blasted off into fucking space, I jumped so high I was looking down at the roof of my house and when I landed I was bleeding from my mouth because I had nearly bitten off my tongue upon hitting the ground. Eating was hard after that.

The truth you actually are a faggot if you think calling someone an anti vaxer is an insult. Its like calling someone who said something about niggers a racist. Its pointless but you said it anyway because you're a faggot and thought that you were proving some kind of moral point. Just call him a fagot.

Sure. Here's a list of my injuries
>almost lost a fingertip knife fighting with my brother
>KO'd myself skateboarding, wasn't even doing tricks or anything. Hit a patch of road sand after winter thaw while turning a corner and bounced my skull on the street
>credit carded myself multiple times trying to learn how to hardflip
>destroyed my knee while sparring with a buddy. Fresh snow and didn't know I was standing on ice. Tried to hip throw him into a snowbank but my foot slipped and my legs made a "K" shape. Ripped my kneecap off, dislocated/reset the joint and tore about half the cartilage out of the joint. Best part is it got misdiagnosed as a sprain for 5 years despite my protests. Should've sued for malpractice.
>almost cut my finger off again with one of my swords. Got stoned, decided it was time to do some drills. When I finished I tried to do one of those samurai style flourishes into the scabbard. But my dumbass was using one of my long swords. Stopped just in time and the blade barely tapped the back of my index finger.

Ironically I've never sprained an ankle skating. Worst sprain I ever had though was stepping into a gopher hole at night when my friends and I were going "ghost hunting" at an abandoned school. It was instant karma though since I watched my brother step and trip in that same hole no more than 3 seconds before I did the same. He was fine, I ended up with a softball sized lump sticking out of my ankle. Spent the rest of the outing in the car waiting for them. Worst part was that there was a mosquito in the car buzzing around the entire time I waited. That incessant high pitched whine about drove me mad. Took about a month to heal fully.
