Planning on buying my first GBB handgun. I mostly do target shooting and don't want to spend much because I'll be screwing around the internals for the first time and don't want to fuck up an expensive gun. I was thinking about getting a Golden Eagle Hi-Capa 5.1 (3302) since I heard it's decent OoB and there's tons of aftermarket options. Any other gun I could consider for a similar price? (around 80€) I'd rather have one with a metal slide, don't care if the body is polymer or metal.

>>173306>>173333>raised in an abusive household and is currently out on the street doing krokodillmao. It's an old VFC '74u. I was the third owner when I bought it fifteen years ago, although I was the one that put most of the wear on it. The thing's seen hundreds of games and extensive modding and repairs since I've had it. Actually my other AK is way more fucked up though, it's just nasty. Internally both guns are in excellent shape, completely rebuilt both earlier this year with high end parts, everything's very smooth.I was trying to mod a fat Polish bakelite grip to fit over an Ares slim motor, but I've just about hit the wall. I've removed almost all the material I can from the inside of the grip, and it's still a half inch away from fitting. May work on it some more this weekend, but for now it's back to the crappy faux plum.
Since RPKbro never posted his support gun, I'll throw up a pic of mine, with an actually successful bakelite grip mod I did, not that it took much.I can't mount the scope since it doesn't have a side rail, was initially thinking of modding one on for the lulz, but it's already so impractical. An RPK would shit all over this thing. Even the '74u would.

Is there any real reason to run real optics on an Airsoft gun? Other forums online swear the quality difference is worth it but I can’t get past spending 300+ on something for a part time hobby, how accurate can an Airsoft gun even be?Specifically looking at JJairsofts replica of a side mount PK-A sight for like 100$
>>173463Real Russian optics are dogshit anywayAs far as I go are Vortex ones because they're cheap, good warrantny and I only run GBBRs so cheap airsoft sights rattle themselves to bits on them
>>173463Red dots, holos, etc. are just dead weight on an airsoft gun, the only reason people use them is the rule of cool. Real or replica, it doesn’t make you any more accurate. PK-As weigh an entire pound, so you’re just making yourself slower with no benefit, although they do look cool. Up to you to decide what your budget is for gimping yourself to look ballin’ in Facebook pics. Something with magnification can be helpful ‘occasionally’ for spotting at bigger games, I doubt you benefit much from having the world’s best glass though.
>went to register new airsoft pistol to the local PD>show ID, they take pictures of the weapon and write down the serial number as usual>police asks for the armourer's documentation>What? I don't have anything else besides these documents>they say that I should have the documentation from the armourer who sold the weapon and ask in a somewhat concerning tone "Where did you get this?">tell them it's a gas operated BB gun>"Oh, its like a spring gun, I see. Then that's it, we'll call you in one or two days to pick up the paperwork">they thought I was registering an actual firearm>you can only own a pistol if you are working for a private security firm, working for the police/military or are a member of a shooting club and have a license to own firearms>they didn't ask for anything besides my ID which isn't enough to prove any of those thingsMaybe it's just my 'tism but I don't understand why they didn't ask about what type of weapon it was, or why they didn't straight up ask for my license first
>>173470Yeah I should’ve specified I’m really only doing it for the LARP factor, the weight is a good thing to consider though I knew they were robust but the E&L I have already weighs quite a bit haha
>>173463CQB doesn't matter much, I'll throw anything on it for cool. But long range stuff where you're trying to tag someone poking out of a window across the street, etc...Replica optics are straight from China with minimal QA. I've gotten many that wouldn't zero at all because the adjustment mechanisms are broken and would barely move if at all. At a certain point, I could have bought a real optic for the cost of all the broken replicas I've received. That's where the quality difference is worth it. I'm not talking about a $1000 Aimpoint or something, but still. When you're young and poor, you have all the time in the world to tinker and fiddle around. But when you're old and have responsibilities, time is a luxury and you're willing to pay for reliability. Plus, you presumably have a job, so $300 isn't a big deal.It also helps if you have real firearms you can transfer stuff to and from.Anyway, plenty of real reasons. Depends if they can apply to you.
>>173470Basically what anon wrote. Only thing I would add is that certain magnification allows you to track your BBs past 50m onwards, allowing you to hit further away by adjusting your aim depending on where the BBs fly. I pointshoot a majority of rounds unless I really need to touch someone 50+m out, those are the moments I feel like missing out not having a 3x+ sight on and just running irons. Real sights generally have a better sightpicture that is more lenient to positioning of your head, but I wouldn't say it is worth dropping 300+$ for an optic unless it is for the LARPfactor, which is based.
>>173471what fucking shithole are you from?
>>173470Sounds a bit copey to me. Optics are useful when there's no wind but yeah real optics are just for flexing.
>>173463I use a knock-off ACOG and another generic 4x scope on my guns. Zeroing isn't really a thing in airsoft given the wonky trajectory of pellets coming out of toy guns. I just use scopes to track where by shots are going then adjusting follow up shots.
>>173023>>173030>>173039Bought a new bucking and it fit fine so odk what was wrong.
>>173511This is what I figured, dudes online always talking about replica sights not holding zero like it matters beyond 30 ft with bbs anyway lol
>>173463To flex. I put an Aimpoint PRO on my Tippmann HPA M4 & an AT3 RD-50 on my JG STAR Dragon/IKAZUCHI, both hold zero just fine. The Aimpoint takes forever to run out of battery, doesn't fog, is equipped with a kill flash & clear lens covers, but is bulky. The AT3 isn't as battery efficient, can fog under extreme humidity, can only be equipped with a rubber cover & is compact. Both work because they let you have an eyes open sight picture, it's up to you on how much to spend...
>>173714why do you own that pos?
>>173719Hahah, only for teh funzies. The dragon just fits real well with my hands, is very cheap, well balanced and actually shoots decent. Plus people are either disgusted or amused when they see it and I've never seen anyone else skirmish one on a field.

Are tracer units a meme? I remember seeing a video of a game where all of the players had tracers and thinking that it looked awesome, but if you were the only one at a night game with one, wouldn’t it just show people your position?
>>174129They're nice when you can easily see where your shots are going, and watch them bounce off your target. Plus, they look awesome.Night games are a weird beast. It's sorta along the lines of flashlights: if you use one, wouldn't that also show your position? The point is that you use them TO KILL. And then run away cuz now everyone knows where you are.But also yes, rainbow tracers are a meme. That's why I want to get 4 and put them on my minigun.
>>174129For indoor CQB they are very nice to have.
>>174129I would go as far as claiming them to be absolutely necessary in CQB, especially if it's a low light field. When I played without one I felt like I had no idea if I was actually shooting on target but with the tracer I can quickly adjust my aim after seeing where the first bb goes.
>>173502Spain does shit like that. But kinda cool for possibility to get ghost airsoft gun. Kinda.
>>174235Imagine hiding from the government because you have an unregistered toy.Oi! You got a loicense fer that slinky, mate?
Is my AK long enough for CQB in the trenches?
>>174129Tracers are useful for intimidation too; people tend to duck and not shoot back at you immediately when you launch a laser volley at them. I prefer to use an amplifier/muzzle break on my rifles instead because you can use whatever bbs you want and being obnoxiously loud entertains me.
>>174235lol, I thought Spain was less retarded than that. >>174274If your aim is to be able to poke enemies in the opposite trench on the other side of no man's land, yes.

>>174806Baselayer should be wool, second layer could be either, I'd learn towards wool though.>>174777I've been to some urban fields that had some pretty long, unobstructed sightlines between buildings, saw many players not respecting them since they figured they were out of range of the average gun, a compact DMR could do some work there. Is anyone here well versed on the emerson stuff? Looking at their website, they seem to have consolidated their blue label and upgraded pants into a single model (EM9319), like these below.https://evike-europe.com/em9319rg34.htmlThing is, you can sill find some blue label stuff floating around (EMB9319) but there is no reference to these in the Emerson website.https://www.softairgames.net/en/pants/18286-tactical-blue-label-g3-new-gen-combat-pants-multicam-tropic-genuine-usa-emerson-emb9319mctp.htmlSorry for the autism

>>175233Only ones that ripped for me were my M90K pants, which is annoying since I basically can't get another pair.
>>175232Supposedly, the real materials used on the real G3s, which makes them worthwhile if the cheaper clones are like 50-70€
>>175235Have you tried repairing them?
>>175233From what I can see Helikon pants go for about 60-70€. I would expect them to last more than 4 months so yeah, those seem to suck. I'm super weary of high price tags because I don't want to fall for any gucci overpriced meme.>>175244Tell me that the real G3s are not the Crye precision ones that I'm finding that go for over 300$. Because if that's the case even a 100€ clone is totally worth it. I saw a Delta Tactics shirt+pants combo (Not sure if its a G3 clone, I know jack about clothes/camo) go for around 90-100€ which I heard is decent, specially if you are just getting into it or want something that will last you somewhat long, although the colors seem to fade somewhat easily between sunlight exposure and washing. On another note, I had a dream I was playing on a massive airsoft field located at a school with some ruins around it. My team's entry point was from a parking lot and we had to go through a destroyed school bus to get into some of the ruins.
There's little point in buying $100 shirts and pants for a hobby. If your life LITERALLY depended on it, then sure. Maximum advantage for maximum gain. For $100, it should be waterproof, kevlar-lined, triple-stitched, or whatever to justify buying instead a $20-40 pair of tac pants, and not just have kneecaps sewed in.But then again, it's airsoft. We're already trying to explain to people why you need to spend $500 on a bb gun.
trying to get into tracer units but looks like the barrel is way longer than expected under the default suppressorit's 12cm/4,7 inches out from the threading, what should be the idea length if i were to add a tracer unit? slap a 12cm shorter barrel in there ir can i leave some leeway?also, is that even proper 14mm threading? the double threading with the spacing seems a bit odd, looks proprietary
>>175277Just be aware you will go down in power with a shorter barrel. If it’s an AEG you are gonna have to adjust with a stronger spring
>>175287i'm already over the limit for my local field so a shorter barrel would likely mean i can go lower on bb weight as well, just not sure what would be the clearance for the tracer, if 1cm could still stick out, and the threading ofc

Niggers, has anyone here tried putting this Kingarms GP-30 on an LCT AK-12? I'll be honest i don't even know if the real stuff would fit together as well. I've seen russians using the GP-25/GP-30 with the AK-12 but it might have involved some dremel work. Any help would be appreciated.
of all the AK12s on the market, which is best for out of the box play? I'm digging the Double Bell but is it a case of you get what you pay for?
>>175647One issue I see is that the barrel clamp has a protrusion that goes backward a little bit. There's no space for it on the AK-12.
>>175651Or maybe mount it all a bit forward.
>>175648Out of the box? Probably the Arcturus w/ the Perun optical mosfet preinstalled. LCT would be second place. Double Bell/Dboys probably 'shoots' decent, but they have pot metal trunnions and sight blocks that 'will' break if you're rough with the gun, and then you're royally fucked because I doubt you can get replacements.Buying an AK-12 at the moment feels weird to me though since Russia hasn't even finalized the design, literally a new version of it dropped just a few months ago. I wouldn't want to spend a bunch of money on what may be retroactively seen as a prototype.

Haven't played with RR in several years, wonder if their team culture has changed any.I was at Raid on Rostov and met one of the facility groundskeepers, the guy was super polite and well-spoken, seemed very mild-mannered. That night I went to watch one of RR's hazing ceremonies, complete with the burpees and some loser screaming "THIS IS A FITNESS CLUB!" through a megaphone. The groundskeeper came around the corner, saw them, and stopped mid-sentence to exclaim "HEY, WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS HOMOEROTIC BULLSHIT?"

>>176206>Should I try playing as a scout?don't get caught up in roles, especially as a beginner, airsoft is tag+hide and seek with extended reach. You've got a good basis, just have fun. Start with the AEG rifle, not the gbb pistol, you'll find range is much shorter and slower than an actual pistol, and recoil is non-existent.cyma, asg and jg make decent starter shit, and you're buying a gearbox and fancy case for it, so get one that looks cool (and has plenty of aftermarket magazines, such as ak or m4 mags).Read the sticky, play for a bit, don't worry about the autism
>>176208Allright, so an AEG it is.Maybe I'll swap some parts from my pellet gun over, such as the scope.I've also got a small laser laying around, wich could come in handy.I do not see the autism as an issue, except for communication, but it does give me a nice stealth bonus.
>>176206>Should I try playing as a scout? No. Start as engineer, so you can fix pallets and roll barrels around to establish cover.>Would a gas blowback pistol be a good startNo, unless you're willing to drop lots of cash on a new hobby. My mags are $40 each, and you obviously want several. Also, if you want to move optics over, then buy lens protectors. I've seen people crack EOTechs.
>>176211>Start as engineer, so you can fix pallets and roll barrels around to establish cover.I'm tiny and not very strong, so I doubt that I'm suited for that task.>No, unless you're willing to drop lots of cash on a new hobby. I've seen people crack EOTechs.Good idea, maybe I'll use a UV-filter from photography as these have a good optical quality

He got it from another friend because he busted both the front and rear sight blocks.Imagine making an entire chart to highlight the most 'durable' of the least durable AK series.
>>176264Given that these guns are just a shell for a gearbox, is there a reason why I shouldn't go with a bullpub? It is significantly more compact, wich seems usefull to me.
>>176308Awkward to handle. That's it. If you're buying CYMA you know you're buying crap.

is it possible to 3d print the entire aeg with plastic, excluding barrel, motor, trigger assembly, nuts and springs, and expect it to work for more than a dozen of shots? I don't have a printer, not even an airsofter, I just watched a few vids and got curious if FDM parts can withstand the pressure, then I checked thingiverse and there were no projects like this, only body kits and externals
>>176310I find P90 hicaps to be absolutely unusable. 190-rnd midcaps are great. Even the frankenstein 2500-rnd boxmag with M4 hicap is usable if a bit rattly. Also consider how you intend to carry a bunch of P90 mags around.>>176340Why? The cost in printing (if you can even print that big) would be outrageous compared to just buying the AEG.

>>176523I can’t even name that combo.
>>176523That's pretty damn sexy, anon. What G3 is that? I'm tempted to get one at some point even if it's long and heavy as fuck
>>176420Had to do a tornado 2 grenade and like 4 auto bursts (the last one being 5 seconds long) to get this hoodie minion to finally call it. He was scoring on the bucket game, so he had to die. What's even better is that he screeched that he's hit, that's enough reeeee and then he stands up and kicks over a random mini shopping cart in the speedball field. Just seeing an angry short small kid beating up a small and proportional shopping cart truly made my game day excellent.
>>176349I've seen P90 users carry their mags on a belt or on a leg holder pouch, the latter really gets past how long those goofy things truly are.

>>176744Doesn't look like enough protection/breathability, either get a mesh lower or paintball mask (depending on what look your want and what's more comfy to you).
>>176749It has a perforated insert. I used a paintball mask way back when, hated how I couldn't really aim down sights with it though.

Dumb question:Why are AEGs based on a gearbox-system instead of a solenoid system?
>>177019My indoor field is super shitty with that too at a point where if i show up and see one guy i'll just drive home (i live 10 minutes away so not so bad. I'm what you'd consider a speedsofter as well but i play fair, so it's really fucking annoying having a guy obviously cheating just getting zero consequences for it, and because he comes regularily and spends money there they won't do anything. >>177126Because chinese manufacturers are incapable of inventing anything themselves

>>176917> London> WE G17, some sort of gas MP5K, an old af CA G36, a G&G M4oi you have a loicence for dat?
>>177126I believe that solenoid requires a few orders of magnitude more of power to operate with the same power than a motor with a few gears, as solenoid generally has lower energy conversion coefficient thus pushing the piston against the spring with it is harder
bbwars
>>177019You're lucky, I've been to some fields where they won't ban anyone or enforce any rules except for lame stuff like 15 foot bang bang when the field is tiny.
PSA for any AK users, in case you didn't know. There are two different size AK mags (at least the 5.45 style, idk about 7.62.) The 'short' style emulates the length of a real mag when it's inserted into the gun. The 'long' style emulates the length of a real mag when it's outside of the gun.The long style is easier to pull out of some AK-specific pouches, but they look slightly off when they're inserted because of their extended length. The short style has the opposite pros/cons.I've got a few real steel magazines that I'm going to convert to airsoft, and only the short style internals will fit. I know for a fact that G&P, CYMA and MAG brand are short, although MAG brand magazines cannot be used for conversion.I'm hoping some AK bros will jump in on this and measure some of their mags from the top of the rear locking lug to the bottom of the floorplate so I can gather some more info on what magazines are suitable for this project.
>>177126What do you expect a solenoid to do? How big a solenoid are you thinking? The short answer is that a solenoid wouldn't be able to come close to the power needed to fire BB's.
>>177225Arcturus AK-12 and AK-74 mags are exactly the same size as CYMA AK-74 mags.
>>177246Thanks anon
>>177242I think he wanted a solenoid to pull the piston back over the resistance of the spring then let go. Not sure if there's even one powerful enough to do that, let alone that can fit in the cramped dimensions of an AEG.
>>177242Basicly use a small coilgun (Gauss-gun) to drive a piston.Powered by a few capaciators wich charge from the battery
>>177291>>177300Yeah, no. Go look at how big an AEG piston is, then go and try to find a solenoid that big, and that can cycle 30rps.
>>177317As it only runs in short bursts, you can run them harder without overheating them.30 Hz isn't an issue, you can operate solenoids without issues at that kind of speed.Your average base speaker also works on the same principle.
>hai 4chan make me a solenoid airsoft gun>you can't do it shit's stupid>SHUT THE FUCK YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT NOW MAKE ME A SOLENOID AIRSOFT GUN NOWuntil the solenoid faggot actually makes one, this entire conversation is stupid
>>177365Your average BASS speaker isn't running on batteries and flinging BB's at 400fps. Show us an example of a solenoid shooting a BB 400fps just once at a price someone would be willing to pay, and then you'll have something to build on. Otherwise, you might as well ask why we can't run airsoft guns on rubberbands.

One of the closest fields to me is semi-auto only for rifles anyway, so I could gain range/velocity and the only drawback would be MED. What would be a good first gun between a Tokyo Marui MWS and VFC?
>>178069Specna EDGE, AEGs are generally better for starters due to being cheaper, more weather-resistant, and simpler to run overall - that being said, if you're deadset on a GBBR (whether for the realism, the more straightforward teching, or some other aspect), I've heard both are good, with the MWS leaning towards raw efficiency (and also shooting consistently within most field limits due to being made for the JP market) and VFC's ARs leaning towards realistic replication of real functions (ex. trigger group)
>>178069MWS if you want to pick up and play without fuss. VFC if you know how to maintain shit
