I started off with my very first game being hardcore 7v7 speedball. I played nothing but speedball for like 2 years because it was all I knew. Tried scenario ball with a bunch of new players, that was kind of cool, never got to try woodsball, I'd love to someday. Haven't played for a while, but these threads inspired me to look at and potentially by gear again

For future reference though, please wait at least a few pages longer before starting a new thread. There's no benefit to it, it's common courtesy to wait until page 9 or so on slower boards to let slower threads stay alive easier and also to keep there from being two living threads for multiple days at a time.

You could argue it's low impact but when there's no gain to moving over early, there's really no reason not to do it the proper way

for me, it's Hyperball
>>
>>16253
Why is there a dedicated name for "speedball but the bunkers are made out of something different"
>>
>>16257
Hyperball is basically a sort of casual speedball-style where all the rentals/recball players play with their Tippys/rental markers.

Speedballers stay on their inflatable fields while rentals play on the field like that pic. IMO I prefer Hyperball because you can hear the THWACK really good when your bunker is getting pounded with paintballs. Also since teams are mostly rentals It's just generally more enjoyable to be in as opposed to sweats playing speedball as if their life depends on it.

All fields I've been to have at least a couple different hyperball fields since they're much more cost-efficient than inflatable speedball bunkers

It was only speedball maps, but yeah, there was a period in like 2008 or so where there was always at least one active server during typical hours. There's also a newer version called Digital Paintball Redux, I remember when it came out people kind of rejected it but checking now it has like a dozen servers while original has no servers at all, so I guess people moved over. I was expecting it to be totally dead but there were actually a couple people on right now when I hopped on to grab a screenshot.

It's a pretty realistic implementation of paintball mechanics but the aesthetics and gunplay leave something to be desired in my opinion. Half Life's thing of the projectiles coming out of your eyes instead of the barrel doesn't treat paintball very well.

There's an even older mod called Half Life Paintball that wasn't trying to be as realistic but I always thought it had a better feel to the shooting. I never saw servers for that one though, so all I got to do was shoot at trees on an empty LAN server.

I'm afraid to check if mine's still around.
I feel like they were kind of going to shit anyways, they used to be a super popular BYOP field but when I started going again a few years ago they only had shitty GI Sportz 1 star field paint and it was super overpriced, we had maybe 15 people on a good day, and they introduced some new stupid rules like gun/hopper hits not counting.

I almost don't care if they go under because I feel like they kind of undermined themselves, but I'd also miss the place because I went there a lot as a teenager and I have a lot of good memories with it.

I remember going to the local Paintball shop one town over (which is gone now) and picking up a case of Stinger or whatever $40 junk paint they had and driving down to the field the next day, I want to go back lads

My city there use to be 2 indoor fields but they both closed. One was a shitty overpriced field that never cleaned up and probably was a health hazard with all the mold on the floor. They sold cases for 3x the price and half of the paint was picked off the ground from other days. The other field was a really nice one with fair prices and regular customers but rarely got renters. one day the owner decided to raise the price of paint for an extra $10. The owners daughter decided to boycott her dads business and asked the regulars to do the same, which they did because they were all thirsty simps. Now the closest field that's still open is a shitty one 2 hours away with the same owners as the moldy one.

The problem is that the bill is VERY vague on what would classify as a "replica firearm". While magfed guns shaped like assault rifles are the most easy to target, whose to say that someone will look at your pic and say "that looks like a pistol, therefore it should be banned". Trying to play paintball while broke sucks balls to the point where it's better to not play at all. Not sure where you are in life but I recommend coming back when you're financially stable. I tried coming into the hobby broke with a shitty Piranha I found in Bass Pro while upgrading to better stuff little by little and it was fucking frustrating for the first couple years. Would've saved money if I just skipped all that cheap garbage and saved it for the better stuff instead.

You can play paintball for not a lot of money and still have a great time using an old pump gun. Don't gimmie any of that shit about being outgunned either. I've played with a stock class phantom against D3 electro wielding tryhards and still cleaned house (if i didnt get shot on the break). you pay for all day rec, plus one bag of paint. Add on the cost of a cheap nelson valve and you're out like 150$? if you don't want to spend thee coin on a cheap pump, you can always play hopper ball. Don't carry no pods, and go out with a small 50-100 round hopper and take your shots careful. You'll love it!

Whats it like playing in the snow anyhow? Never got to experience when the average temperature here is 32C
>>
>>21136
It varies depending on the amount of snow, how long its been there, and the temperature.

This pic was taken in March on a unusually warm day following a lot of snowfall. This led to patches of deep snow that's hard to run through, interrupted by wide patches of thick mud. It really ups the pressure on the attacker and gives defenders another edge- but this was a huge scenario with 500+ players on a big field, so you potentially have the numbers to make it work.

Really it just comes down to having the appropriate equipment. Some tall boots and snow gaiters is all it takes to make it work.

Paintball is not extreme, but I guess it cant be worse than the airsoft larp.
>>
>>22979
thats just, like, your opinion, man.

its as extreme as mountain biking or rock climbing. it is what you make it. if you go out with the mentality of making the most of your time and put effort into getting what you want out of it, paintball can be a grueling physical and mental challenge. the mechanics behind building your own classic autococker or mag become an exercise in engineering and custom machine work.
or you can go out and buy the most expensive mountain bike/climbing gear with zero clue about how it works or if you really even need it. then, only hit the beginner trails and spots because youll never dedicate enough time to actually progressing.
is the first time you go to your buddies "paintball birthday party" with rental gear going to be a challenge or very rewarding? probably not, but chances are youre just out there to "have fun". nothing wrong with that, but its a completely different feeling spending months hunting parts and custom fabricating an autococker build, running drills and learning how and when to move while weighed down by a loaded pod pack and then competing in a 5 man mech tournament. cheating at that level is rampant so expect to be overshot and at point blank range. you're constantly sprinting, diving, crawling and screaming out the other teams moves. it gets very intense.

https://youtu.be/WHhhRFMoFZ4
>>
>>22979
i guess maybe its different where i am. paintball came out of PA so theres a strong east coast scene. the guys i see at my local fields are out there all the time and are extremely involved. its not just "buy gear, buy paint, play and go home." its like a cookout party every week with the most welcoming and friendly dudes youll ever meet. free food and beer. huge discounts on paint. dont wanna use the rental stuff? everyone has so much extra gear, no one has a problem loaning you their spare set of high end goggles, custom tourney level gun and anything else youd ask for. all ages, mostly 20 yo's, all walks of life. lots of machinists and mechanics. vets and active duty guys. hunters, students, gunsmiths. corny as it sounds, it really is like a real life fight club. people come out, blow off steam, talk about their problems, offer any help we can. its not the same going out to play golf or fishing. and its waaay more popular than airsoft. not shitting on airsoft, ive tried it out. seems like airsoft is a younger, less athletic, less technically competent crowd and the action is less intense with less moving and longer range fighting. not really what the paintball guys are after. ill say this, i see more real steel owners and actual military guys interested in paintball than airsoft eveytime i go out.

Thanks.
Everyone at my local field is extremely supportive of each other and very passionate about paintball. We try to not even shoot any walk on players younger than 18, it's encouraged to "surrender" them. Either barrel-tag them or get close enough to knock on their cover. Any one unfamiliar with that rule who overshoots a little kid gets warnings and singled out by the regulars as a target. Repeat dick head behavior gets you kicked out. To curb that sort of thing, we loan the shy new players top end gear and let them pick the teams. Keeps things very even. Growing the sport, getting new players to come back and bring more friends in is a constant priority. Teaching them the history and showing them the old school stuff can keep up with today's tech helps keep them from spending too much when first getting into it. It's always a great feeling putting one right in the goggles of the spoiled rich kid with the $2000 brand new setup shooting 15bps when I'm playing with my old school 50-round pump phantom. That kind of stuff really shows the new players they don't have to be afraid or need the newest, fastest shooting gun.

Gi owns most of the companies that actually produce paint but there's tons of small, grassroots companies out right now. Mech play is having a huge comeback so a lot of the specialty shops that had signature series guns are doing new runs of guns and parts they haven't put out in decades. There's tons of one man gun builders and a lot of innovation on the gear side of things. Ginger dynamics makes neoprene hopper and pneumatic covers with custom prints, fight island makes camo dyed Hawaiian shirts with pod pack slots, and we have a local guy who makes the old sandana style headbands and wraps
>>
>>23181
Disagree with that desu. Would have hated adults going easy on me as a kid.
Obviously acting like a tryhard speedballer around casual players is extremely cuntish but there needs to be some challenge for it to be fun

>We try to not even shoot any walk on players younger than 18, it's encouraged to "surrender" them. Either barrel-tag them or get close enough to knock on their cover.
I appreciate the idea here but as someone who played as a teenager and was (and still is) kind of a huge bitch, I wish I took an actual hit sooner so I could have realized it's not that bad. It took me a few days of playing to get anything other than a gog or a surrender so during that entire time I wasn't really enjoying the game because I was so scared of getting hit and how bad it would hurt. "Surrender if you're near, single ball them if not" seems like a good baseline, but depending on the player and their age I can see leaning more towards the surrender side.

Anyways I like your energy, old school paintball dads are the best. I didn't start playing until the mid 2000s but these days I shoot an automag 68 because it's fun, it's reliable, it does everything I need, and it's a good conversation starter and makes the rental kids less scared.

Where do you play? I'm in eastern MA and kind of looking for a new field

Totally forgot about pbDNA! Dude makes a bunch of 3d printed stuff: hoppers, barrel insert holders, gun stands, always coming out with new stuff! The surrender stuff is definitely case by case. If it's a kid who's out there going at it hard, we'll definitely give it right back to him. It's just a general rule among the regulars to try to bring the renters and younger players up and keep em safe. Whenever they're on my team, I try to "lead the squad" and bring them with me, showing them how to move and trying to be a good example.
That's a nice mag! Does it have the Level 10 bolt? I've got two lvl10 minimags, the phantom and 2 cockers, all built piece by piece, back when they were the "old, slow" guns and no one really cared about them.
I'm between DC and Baltimore and I regularly play at Paintball Adventure Park in Taneytown MD.
Here's one of my autocockers:
98 body, sandblasted and polished
STO/Palmers pneumatics
Taso humpback frame
JAM anti chop bolt
Custom welded aluminum 45 feed neck adapter
Palmers internals
Palmers stabilizer
8" Bob long stainless barrel
14" Bob long aluminum barrel
Both bored for Freak inserts

It's just a stock bolt, but I've never had any chops or anything as long as I'm at least using the revvy. I think I remember going to a guy who hoards mag parts on MCB and asking if I could just pick out a full build's worth of individual parts and make a full marker out of it.

The ASA is one I had lying around, I was happy to find a low profile one with the hose coming out the front. The foregrip was a regulator off a 98 STO which I ended up selling, so I need to find something new for it. Mechanically I love cockers but it turns out I don't really like shooting them ingame
>>
>>23768
Better pic of the bolt

Both of my cockers are being finicky right now. But the phantom and mags are always reliable. Automags were the main rental gun before Tippman came out. Love busting them out and getting asked "what axe kit is that?!"
>>
>>23782
Nice! For me, there's nothing better than tagging the guys with speedball gear with one good shot from any of the old school mech guns Ive built, but shooting the autococker, especially when there's a few more on my team, is just such a nostalgic, badass feeling. But like I said, they are temperamental sometimes, lots of orings and adjustments that can go out on you. If given the choice, if it was somehow guaranteed to run, I'd take a well set up autococker over anything else.
>>
>>23782
Autocockers are going up in value right now too. What year is your STO? Looks mostly stock aside from the benchy frame? You could probably get ~$800 for it if the anno is still in nice shape
>>
>>23800
They're certainly good head turners, that two-stage click shot signature really stands out.
I just think they're kind of heavy and bulky and also I would have had to get a freak barrel or something to prevent rollouts since paint is so small these days. I like smooth compact mechanically simple designs on the field, so I'm glad mags exist so there's something that fits that bill but still has retro charm.

>>23801
It was a 98 STO, undrilled and flawless anno

How do people even get into tournament airball? Each player shoots like half a case of $60+ paint every point.
shooting like 700 rounds at the wall to zone people makes sense in a video game but in real life where each shot is like 3+ cents is just insane

I guess find events and get some buddies. City (25k people) I used to live in actually had a couple 3 man tournaments when I lived there. Only about ten teams first time, mix of mainly random amateur groups, and a pair of "semi pro" teams.

>>
>>26564
Oh fuck I dunno. Try playing with a mechanical, or if your marker is programmeable, limit it's balls per second. I get practice the way you play, but cutting your ammo use in any way might just work for scrimmages, and maybe you'll get gooder putting yourself at a disadvantage.
Honestly just playing walk ons as much as you can will make you better, whether or not you're with "leet, pro players".
Tourneys I did, another player and I were still on our first mechanical markers, and we did perfectly fine.

I think hoppers are the most overblown part of your setup, it mattered more in like 2006 where everyone was shooting 20 bps but nowadays all events cap things around 10.5 and pretty much anything fancier than an agitator can keep up with that 100%. It's more a matter of weight and easy cleaning than anything.

I got a Revlution for my old automag and ended up just using that most of the time even on my more modern electros, it's light and simple and feeds more than fast enough for the level I'm playing at.

anyone in here ever drop $1k+ on a single marker? ive always "done more with less", building up second hand guns cheap as possible over time. never spent more than $200 on a gun and just put money into it here and there over time. its a great feeling gogging someone with a $2k speedball setup with the cheap automags i built piece by piece. used my buddies freeflow caliber a few weeks ago and been on the lookout for one to pop up ever since. i should add that at my home field, most of the regulars use old school guns and gear but have multiple high end brand name mechs (shocktech, aka, planet eclipse, belsales...). ive shot and played with any of them they let me and it really makes a difference. lightweight bodies, wire detents, low pressure setups are priorities of mine now. i have an autococker i built that performed great for a long time until i bent the valve stem. tried replacing it with another from the same manufacturer but now im
getting low/erratic velocity. tried everything, just want a high end autococker i can depend on. so, i just impulse bought pic rel with a low rise feedneck and the badass inception ez asa. supposed to show up tomoro im extremely stoked

You guys are making me want to get back into paintball now that I have the money to do it again.
I haven't played in 8 years. I used to have an Azodin Khaos 2, but sold it with my guppies and mask to some dude years ago.
What would you recommend for a mech marker setup? I've got large hands, and prefer a 2-finger trigger.
>>
>>31591
I feel like you start hitting massive diminishing returns in dollar value after around $400, the most expensive marker I've ever bought is a Mini GS
>>
>>31591
Say I have $200 and want a general purpose "do-everything" marker. What would you point me towards?
>>
>>31825
Unless you get a used Axe or something you can't really get a jack of all trades marker for $200 assuming you want something that's tournament airball ready.

If you're just playing rec ball and want something good on a budget, get a emek. Good brand, has the same smooth shot as an electro, but needs no batteries. You'll just need something else if you need tournament ramp modes further down the line
>>
>>31811
i agree with this when it comes to mass produced models or electrics, especially the ones that get a new model every year/few years. i dumped money into the caliber partly as an investment. high end autocockers are very popular right now and the older, "rare" bodies and annos are also going back up in price. all my guns are shooters, not wall hangers, but i take good care of my gear. so, i think its realistic to expect close to if not more than what i paid whenever i feel like selling. freeflows are made in relatively small batches, sell out in minutes, and most have a unique anno. they are all built to order and come with lifetime warranties on tech and maintenance, specific to the gun, not the owner. anyway, i plan on this being my 'forever' gun, at least for mech semi stuff.
>>
>>31957
i second the emek, with the one caveat that they are everywhere and, in my opinion, boring both in looks and "character". i know they are popular for good reasons but id take a level 10 bolt automag over an emek any day of the week. if you know where to look, the mag will cost less
>>
>>31987
Yeah it's a boring marker aesthetically, but it's really the best entry level semi out there.
I still prefer shooting an old automag 68 or something
>>
just jumped back into the sport, what the fuck happened to jerseys and pants? When i was younger the thick ass knee padding was nice for sliding/bounces. Now i'm a bit older, 31, and it helps with my bad knee. I was going to get some new gear but the only pants i see now are these faggy joggers everywhere.
>>
>>31591
i think my dm14 was over 1k when i first got it, I'm not an amazing player, but i do enjoy electro's and i had the money to buy it so i did. But i'm generally not phased by what the other person is using, i've been taken out by people using pumps and rentals and i've barrel bumped people shooting timmy's, ego's, etc...

In short if you want a nice gun and can afford it get it, you won't regret it and you will notice difference in quality generally.
>>
>>32067
Players realized built in pads were shit and made jerseys/pants cost more. Not to mention it made it more annoying to wash properly unless you wanted mold. Better to save that money and get better quality slider shorts, knees, and elbow pads instead.
>>
>>32087
I’ll keep using my older shit then, the big fat padded knees on my empire pants are amazing.

that they should try paintball with decent gear. a common argument i hear from airsofters is paintball is "lame because its not realistic". i doubt any of the preteens playing airsoft are actively "training" for a SHTF situation. meanwhile, the old heads who have played paintball since they were kids are partying it up, handing out beers and ragging on eachother like brothers. when it comes down to it, these are the guys making big moves on the field, putting more skill and strategy into action and definitely the guys i want to have my back if something ever actually did happen. paintball just has more soul, in that way and others. theres multiple airsoft manufacturers cranking out the same models, yea some are better quality than others. paintball guns are, for the most part, completely unique to their make and model with the differences being finishes and modifications. in my group, at least, everybody owns real steels and those belong at home or at the range. no one wants to own airsoft versions of their guns at home or even guns they dont have because they have too much respect for the real thing. our paintball gear is more like sports equipment and no one really sees the point in trying to make it seem like what we would do in a "real life combat situation". plus, if you get hit and it doesnt break, youre still in! and its harder to cheat and more rewarding to play, especially with pump guns!
>>
>>32345
get a pbdna jolo hopper for that thing. also, its funny how theres elitism even within the pump community. its like the cocker pump guys look down on the guys shooting phantoms and if you dont have a hitman mod handle, people dont want you on their team.
>>
>>32203
I've always thought it looked interesting, but not something i'll ever get into. I also don't like the fact that there isn't an actual marking system besides "honor" because people lie, thats a fact. I haven't been since my freshman year 3, almost 4 years ago, I gotta replace my O's and get some better air canisters, maybe one of them fancy electric mags or the revolver I was eying up

Pic related, I used to have a long range set up with another Walmart cheep scope. the cause was actually from my motorcycle crash when it split me leg open so I have a bit of it on me gun. for memorys sake
>>
Alright, lads. I'm back in.
Bought an Axe 2.0 and a Spire IR. Still need pods, a pack and a tank.
Middle school me would be so proud.

I dont really like freeflow or shocktech cockers. Theyre over priced and I feel havent innovated anything to justify the cost. At least Simon at inception has tried but its a shame that GI (I think) has their hands of captive hammer springs and race style bolts. This is my cocker, I care enough about it to maybe get a palmer reg for it soon but I just dropped 400 ozzie fun bucks on new gear for the next two years.

>>32822
Ive seen some footage but damn this is batman beyond levels of magfed retardation. Like real shit that scope is gonna be useful as tits on a bull and that double tapped mag is gonna fall apart in 3 seconds of play.

Never cause it wouldn't be feasible with anything fast shooting, and not enough play pump anyway.

>>
>>33979
Of course. The webcomic and his legendary custom work. To this day, this is still my favorite beavertail of all time
>>
>>33927
I like hinge frames also least it has a palmer reg. Those things are between indestructible to how can one reg be so based.
>>
>>34258
are you talking about the prostock here >>32877 ?

thats not a palmers reg, its a wgp.

also, for everything besides rate of fire,
slide>>>>>>>(cr)hinge

and rate of fire is negligible because you should be moving and working angles instead of wasting paint. one good hit is all it takes.
>>
>>34313
>>
>>34397
i used to be into the wgp hinges, just thought they looked cool. then i used a buddies gun with a trigger job slider (polished plate, roller sear, nylon set screws, lightened springs, shockteck trigger shoe) and i never went back. its just an incredible feeling shooting a well put together slide trigger. hinges just feel like every other gun out there, because thats what all other mechs use. ive shot the single finger hinges too and still prefer slides. plus hinges are always taller and throw off the guns balance. theres a reason people are still cranking out slider parts, and why the high end cockers all come with them. if you ever get the chance, try a gunfighter frame. danny love at shocktech is a genius and the gunfighters are an engineering masterpiece.
>>
>>34726
Okay Danny. We get it your trying to push your cockers but Simon still has his arm up me so I wont settle for anything but their 45s.
>>
>>34786
dont you dare insult MR.LOVE by comparing him to me. and simons stuff is cool too, aesthetically the sharp angles he mills into his stuff are too much for me. but its cool hes got a slider, hinge and 86° line.

I'm getting back into paintball and I noticed an issue with my shocker rsx. Nothing major but the quick release doesn't eject the bolt sometimes. It's got aboit 2 cases of paint through it so I'm not sure if it's the o rings not being broken in or if the back cap spring is weak. Any ideas?

Seems like most people either don't play or have never played airball. Shame. It's a lot of fun competing locally and nationally, although I will admit it can feel pretty intimidating to get on to a team and does cost a fair bit. Lets be honest, what hobby doesn't if you're serious about it? Even going to a national event venue can be pretty cool to just walk around. Usually there are some sort of Facebook pages for teams and lots of fields tend to make business pages there, so that would probably be your best bet in you're interested in any sort of airball. Anyone play competitively? What region are you from? Favorite style of play/position? Any neat stories?

Idk I just like inception for some reason. Mind you I just use stock stuff because importing anything from outside Australia is a pain in the ass and over priced. idk maybe one day Ill go full retard and just build some sort of frankenstien cocker from random bits and pray to god it works.

>>34893
Replace and lube the orings that sit against the body, if that doesnt work its just the spring needing to be replaced.

>>35020
One cool story I have is making a team of a bunch of randoms that havent played in ages, playing the semi pro div at my local field and coming second. Then there was the time I got my local bushball friends to enter in a 7man mech only comp and came second but only loosing to the 1st place guys by like 10 points. I think what was most fun about that is me and my guys going 2-0 against the pro speedball teams on a woodsball field. Felt good.. that and I also was rocking my 68 mag which somehow handled fragile torny paint better than I had hoped.
>>
got the caliber dialed in last night. swapped out the trigger springs and greased the plate. dropped in a new hammer spring and set the stab. consistent upper 290s with the ivg only 2 turns in. hitting 6 bps not even trying
>>
>>35247
built this reg tester with a $12 amazon gauge, $4 hardware store fitting, spare asa i had laying around. this and a used handheld chrono were game changing for me. took my old automags and autocockers and got them properly set up. never had any idea i was running my reg pressures too high. its a night and day difference, guns are shooting smoother, less kick, higher fps and air fills are lasting waaay longer
>>
>>35312
can you even change the pressures on mags? I just chrono mine to 280 and call it day. Seems to like it anyway.
>>
>>35554
I like for my guns to be able to get up to 300 and then dial it back slightly. Thats my fields limit. My mag would start leaking around 285 and my numbers were also a bit inconsistent. +/- 30fps fluctuations. Since i have a rebuild kit and the leftover shims that came with the level 10 bolt, i messed with all that first. Then after checking the forums i swapped out the springs in the valve pin and reg body. That did the trick and now im at 290 +/- 10 fps which im fine with.

So, i have a few old viewloader revvys that i dont feel like cleaning up and the shells are starting to crack in some vital locations (board/battery shelf, screw holes, feedneck). I also have 2 1st gen rotors that perform flawlessly. I picked those up on ebay for $60 each second hand, never really bought any gear brand new. But im looking at the bunkerkings(virture) CNTRL. Goddamn that price tag, but im liking everything else about it. Gunna pick up the hopper and ramps and upgrade to the rechargeable battery pack down the road. So $250 hole in my pocket comming soon. Inb4 "just get xxx! Its just as good! Youre just shooting mech!" Im into the cntrl because of its low profile and lightweight. After checking out prices on used ones, im confident theyll hold their value for a long time.
>>
>>35560
Using anything but a revvy on a mech cocker should be illegal desu
>>
>>26571
>docsmachine
lmao furry
>>
>>35889
Do you think there's porn?
>>
>>35560
idk mines an old level 7 so it doesnt really go about 295 but seems to like to operate around 280 and only back vents below 200.
As for hoppers I have an old revvy but cracking around the front and rear screw holes on the body and the lid is replaced with a GOG speedfeed which is the only thing holding it together. Luckily local store has some replacement shells Im getting real soon along with 77 tanks. But yeah usually Im a shill for bunkerkings but their hoppers are useless, spire 3 280, TFX2 and Dye rotors are still my go to. Mind you I only trust my Spire 3 for any tournament play because it doesnt fuck with me during points but doesnt like the mag through, revvy i still perfect in my eyes though.

>>36072
doesnt he have an FA account ?
>>
>>36574
the bunkerking hoppers are considered the best in the industry tho? better for feeding fast mech guns without eyes than the spire also. where did you get your information? they are a hair heavier than revvys while having a waaay smaller profile and lower center of gravity. ease of disassembly is huge for me. we all know how big a pain in the ass cleaning broken paint out of a revvy is. like i said, i think they're overpriced but thats the only negative.
heres a pretty good, unbiased review by a guy who uses it on his mech cocker.

If knee pads are hard, outside. Soft, go inside.
Or if you would rather wear knee pads out than pants, always put kneepads outside.

just got my first gun and used it. cleaned it tonight and screwed the tank in and noticed a barely audible noise like air was escaping from the front of the bolt area into the breach. Did I re-lube the gun wrong or do all guns not seal 100% of the air.
>>
>>37935
What kind of gun is it? Did you try firing a shot to see if the system cycling would stop the leaking?
>>
>>37936
shocker rsx. i did not try that I will give it a shot.
>>
>>37936
>>37937
also im not sure how much lube to put on spool valves. some ppl say very little and others say to make up for the extra space in the grooves where the orings go.
>>
>>37937
Check the valve o ring (big on in the middle that the bolt moves on). Take it off and clean it, relube then try again. If not check shockers website for trouble shooting. Usually if its a leak down the barrel its a valve o ring. Also shoot it a few times after lubing, doesnt need to shoot paintballs but dry firing it spreads the lube out and it sometimes fixed the issue.

Also on a different note does anyone know of anyone that makes neoprene tank bottle covers for 45/77 tanks? I hate the silicone ones and cbf taping up the ass end of my tank like the pros all do.

Should be a thin film on the ring but if extra collects on the side of the o rings then its fine. Just dont dump it all on.
Usually just getting a small dollop on your finger and running it a round the ring is more than enough. Should look something like this if 4chon doesnt compress the fuck out of the image. But this is after a few times the bolts cycled over it.

Skip to 12:20 and praise Rory.
>>
>>37935
here again. I think i fixed the bolt leak but i noticed when test firing a small puff of air comes out of the back of the rear body screw that attaches the upper and lower portion together. Is this normal on these guns or is there a frame leak? It's always done this when I shot it.
>>
>>38118

No its meant to do that, doesnt have a self purging ASA and SP couldnt figure out how to make a 2 way valve in the ASA because SP is full of retards now
