I've never officially be diagnosed with a concussion but I've taken some hard hits to the head that sent me spinning

Once I fell off a pogo stick, hit the back of my head
One I was flying a kite in the street I think and was running and tripped and hit my head on the ground
Once I flipped over the handle bars on my bike and the bike came up and hit my head
Once I was sitting on a car and my friend thought it would be funny to drive away as a prank and I fell off the back. I actually went to the hospital for stitches on that one
And I've been punched where I saw stars twice
And once at my friends house we were doing wrestling moves and he gave me a pedigree on the hardwood floor but he didnt know he was supposed to release my arms so I could break fall and he actually delivered the move. I didnt just see stars I saw blue birds and dont remember how it got home


I'm sure a few of those were concussions, is that too much?

For me, I go helmetless because it would be very bizarre for me to fall on my head (I mostly do freeskating) and as others have said, Helmets tend to be hot, itchy and uncomfortable.
That said, when I go into aggressive skating again, I'm totally wearing protective gear, basically had to stop skating for several years due to completely shattering my arm and wrist like glass, even now I have no strength in that arm and I can't even make a fist.
Back in the late 90s and early 00s when I started skating, helmets were actually often worn as a cool fashion statement, so I don't know where this whole "Not becoming a paraplegic from a fall isn't cool" thing came from.
