Packing tape ghost.

Use a mannequin (or a person), wrap with packing tape, cut it off the mold, then seal the shape back together. The first round of tape you put glue side up, then all other layers sticky side down, that way it won't stick to the mold or person. This one has those cheap plastic $1 drop cloths used to make the skirt and veil. You can put lights in them to make them glow. Hang them from trees for cheap decoration.
>>
>>32919374
That looks really cool. Seems simple but really effective. Skirt part looks especially excellent.

As someone who watched it last year precisely because of these threads, particularly I didn't like it... It has a cute art and nice ambiance/vibes, but unfortunately I didn't like the characters nor the story, so overall not my thing (I watched with my sister btw, and she also didn't like it, but maybe that's just us)

All that said, do consider future replies, as they may know better what they're talking about than me.

>>32923640
Older fella here, I decided to watch it because it became so talked about in Halloween circles and… I legitimately enjoyed it. Very nice aesthetic, catchy songs, decently quotable and great VA work. I watch it every year now.

I was lucky to live in a small neighborhood growing up where EVERYONE went trick or treating, it was a whole neighborhood event (you don't see it so much these days). My friends and I would load up in the back of my mom's van and we'd plan our route of attack; drop-off and pickup points; etc. We knew which houses had the good shit; which ones never gave out anything; and the local constants (one guy every year would cook a GIANT vat of chili, would dress as the same cow every year, and hand out free bowls of chili to anyone who came by. It was sorta the local watering hole on halloween night for parents; I think he probably also gave out beer). It was wonderful.
I'm in my 30s now and recently moved to a non-backwoods location where it looks like they actually do trick or treating. I'm so damn excited to pay it forward: I'm only getting the good shit, king size, etc. And going all out on decorations. Super excited to keep the magic alive for the younger folks.
>>
>>32930261
Glad you found a good neighborhood, after years of apartment living I moved to a small town where Halloween seems like something out of a movie. Hundreds of kids roaming the streets, over the top yard displays, Just a general spirit of community... It's wonderful.

>>
>>32932217
It seems to change year on year or by who is streaming. You won't miss out though. Check /hor/ on /tv/ it's usually mentioned in there from the start of October and sometimes they'll end up with their own thread or they'll just be posted in there.
Like I say usually the streams will start 1st of October, but they don't pick up a lot of steam until at least halfway through the month. Lots of times movies will be put to a vote, but others it's just at the discretion of the streamer. You'll have fun either way though. One thing you'll have to take into account is the country of the person streaming. It could be comfy 9pm there, but uncomfy 2pm where you are.

This seems like the best place to ask without messing up any threads.
I found under my desk a weird nail, pic related, but it doesn't make any sense how it got there, wondering if anyone here might have some insight into what might leave a nail like this.
I felt a lump under where I sit at my desk, and on poking this nail appears to have been under the carpet. It 100% wasn't there before as I've lived here a year and would have stood on it before. It wasn't in the floor as when I pulled it was loose.
I live alone, get few visitors and none would head upstairs to my office.

I've been trying to make a new pic for my Halloween bros.
I really fucked everything up by not doing things to scale and the candy is somehow a lot harder than I thought it would be (candy excluded for the time being). Tried to be cute by spelling "X Halloween General" with the DVD cases too but I don't think anyone will notice unless I point it out.
I won't post it again until it's finished. Don't want to shit up this thread with wips.
I hope everyone is staying spooky!

I'm almost 50, have a band and a group of pals made up of former coworkers with whom I shared some common interests. That probably took 25 years to put together, but you gotta talk to people and find out what they're into, let people know what you're into. I think one of my oldest friends in that group was met because I saw him reading a Raymond Feist novel and it was part of my favorite fantasy series so... i went up and started talking to him about it. That's also why i suggested volunteering at a charity haunt or applying for a job at a more professional one... you'll meet people who share your interest in Halloween.
>>
>>32936585
maybe take her to get checked at the vet. could be in pain (for any number of reasons - mild or not) and taking it out on the decorations. think how when you stub your toe and it makes you feel like punching a wall.
or she could just be lonely too. has your daily routine/life altered in any way recently? the most seemingly minor things to us can have such a big emotional impact on our pets.

>but you gotta talk to people and find out what they're into, let people know what you're into
I struggle with this so fucking bad. Great with the first part - talking to people about their interests - but I find it so hard to talk about mine. Even when we share the same interests! Worst still, even if the person actually likes me!
It's the stupidest fucking thing. I wish I could just be me around people. It's like deep down in the recesses of my mind I'm afraid of being judged, or found out to be a "fraud" or something. The rational part of my mind knows that is a ridiculous way to live, but I guess that fear still lurks in my subconscious. Not looking for advice or anything, I know no one can help me but myself, just ranting. My apologies dude.

I was in your same shoes in 2019. Best 3 years of my life. Now I invite my cousins and friend over instead and have a party every halloween. It doesn't get completely better, but surrounding yourself with people you love sincerely helps. After my breakup I was able to deepen the relationship with my dad and sister tremendously.

Love you bro, hang in there.

p.s. enjoy the no-face I made.

You are being afflicted by the [Mask of Protection], which, as the name implies, is used to protect the wearer mainly by hiding their emotional and personal weaknesses, to avoid being exploited and taken advantage of. Normally a good thing, borderline a blessing, but yours happen to be too potent, thus "protecting" you from everyone, even those you know present no danger to you (and since something as simple as sharing your interests can be seen as an act of weakness, it prevents you from doing so).
Unfortunately, as you are aware, the only way to get rid of it is to break through the mask by forcing yourself to go against its protection.

Yes, this little wall of text doesn't contain anything you don't already know, but I wanted to post it anyways. Sorry about that.

I'm the same way. I've an intense fear of not being accepted/being judged. The only thing that helps is time, a ton of different human interactions, and knowing (not just logically but empathetically) that most people are the same way to various degrees.

Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there!
He wasn't there again today,
Oh how I wish he'd go away!

When I came home last night at three
The man was waiting there for me
But when I looked around the hall,
I couldn't see him there at all!
Go away, go away, don't you come back any more!
Go away, go away, and please don't slam the door...

Last night I saw upon the stair,

My belief with Pumpkins is that, while you can grow them year round they need lots of sunlight. Pumpkins last 8-12 weeks after being picked before they start going manky. So let's say August is the last month you get enough sunlight to grow them properly. If you pick them at the end of August then 8 weeks later would take you to the end of October, or Halloween. You don't want them hanging around much longer and starting to rot so you need to get rid of your surplus and the best way to do that is to tie them to something where people will buy up what you have left. Something like Halloween.
It could have been a case of selling them off cheap because they were on the turn and the farmer needed rid of them. They weren't necessarily to eat, more to decorate to keep the ghouls away. Then when it became more of a tradition they started to charge more.
I don't have a degree in folklore and pumpkinology so all of this is pure speculation btw.

I don't want to be a fraud and try to trick anyone. I'm not cool enough to own Witchfinder General. I'm just making the pic in blender.
I added some more junk to it and I don't understand the concept of less is more, but I have some questions that maybe some Halloween bros can help with. Mainly in regards to candy because we don't get Butterfingers or candy corn here. Should those Butterfingers be larger and should the candy corn be smaller? Both seem like the scale is fucking way off. Something that wouldn't be a problem if I had just done the scale correctly in the first place instead of being a dickhead.
Also is there anything I should remove because it doesn't fit or anything missing that I should add? It feels like most of what I added since last time doesn't really have a Halloween theme to it and I'm branching away from that. Drugs seems to go hand in hand with the occult so that's why they're included, especially the schizo tablets.
And I know I said I wouldn't shit the thread up with wips, but it's almost done and I need some help.

was/is, yeah. the effect has been mostly ruined for me when it comes to christmas though, seeing as imagery relating to it crops-up earlier and earlier every year (like aug/sept nowadays). totally kills the anticipation/novelty and magic of it. halloween still has that by the barrel-full for me however, thankfully.

Candy corn is about 7/8 - 1 inch long. I don't do butterfingers. The wrapper looks like full sized and you never get full sized trick or treating*. A fun sized bar the wrapper is around 3.5 inch long 1.25 inch wide.

*My boomer Dad had a story from when he and his brothers were lads growing up in the 50's. There was a middle aged single guy that lived in his neighborhood. Every Halloween he would give out full sized Hershey bars. Basically none of the neighborhood kids got any. All the parents thought he "liked kids too much" (were of the opinion he was a pedo). So all the kids in the area were ordered to have no interaction with him.

If you haven't seen it I highly recommend, it's the perfect campy kind of fun for the season, similar to Goosebumps or a less-adult Tales from the Crypt.

>Buutterfinger

I purposely did those full size (or what are supposed to be full size) because I wanted the anon in my scenario to have visited one of those rich area that give out the full sizers.I know it's rare, but they do happen.
I did some 100Grands too, but they're basically just the same model with a different wrapper so I got rid of them. I tried to do those cute fun sized peanut buttercups, but I couldn't find a good pic of the packaging so I got rid of those too.
I think what I might do is see if I can find some of the fun sized Butterfinger packaging and see how that works out. If it looks shit I'll just increase the size of the ones I have.
Thanks for your help.

Do you mean a list of movies that will be streamed? That'll happen closer to the time. If it's put to a vote usually the streamer will pick about half a dozen movies and then anons will vote on which ones to watch and we'll watch watch 3-4 of them.
You get kind streamers too sometimes who will get a movie for you as long as it isn't shit, other people are happy to watch it, and it isn't completely obscure making it difficult to find.

i think most of the hate comes from the fact its only possible to buy like 1 lb bags, so people get it in loose pieces and cant eat it. ive never seen candy corn in single serving bags before

I swear, on God, for real, etc.;

candy corn is simply recycled
Sorry, scratch that, it is RE-PACKAGED (Big Candy doesn't want us to know) and grows increasingly stale and worse with every passing year. Nobody eats it.
It's literally decoration.

These paid confectionery agents know that people are catching on. There's little time left for candy corn lies.

Hobby Lobby was never too, too much into Halloween just basic fall decorations. However, craft stores in general back in the 80s put the Halloween stuff out at the end of July... that was when my mother and I would make our annual run. The thinking is/was that crafters need a few months to do their work.

I was interested in seeing what they had for October, I guess I waited too long.

They never had anything. some sects of Christianity are crazy when it comes to Halloween. They probably believe Halloween to be a Satanic holiday.
