Can someone tell me what kind of ports these are? Old external hard drive I found. I'm really really stupid, thanks.

Thats what I thought too. Is there no firewire to usb adapter? I couldn't find one on amazon.

No because firewire needs remote DMA (push), but USB only supports polling (pull). It's not possible to make an adapter.

If you've got a desktop, or a laptop with a expresscard or cardbus slot, you can get a firewire card for it. Just not a USB one.

No, that's a passive adapter for dual-purpose USB/Firewire ports.
Which don't exist now.

Thunderbolt, Thunderbolt, eSATA, USB
>>
>>957095
Yes, but you really should use eSATA.
Get an "eSATA backplate"
>>
>>957095
and an eSATA cable. Generic ones are fine, should be less than $15 all in.
>>

Fuck sake it didn't actually post five hours ago.

Anyways, the middle port is a mini-USB, so your cheapest and best option is a mini-USB cable. eSATA will be faster, but is not worth the hassle.
