That being said even in the main series it has changed significantly, I can't speak for part three but yes in the beginning it was wacky heists but in part 4/5 it became more about how the characters are old and asking themselves if it's worth it to continue when the world is moving on and getting more advanced with their new threat being AI and whatnot
