>>4596193>>4596217They do indeed.
>Listen to the new Macroblank album on Youtube>'s pretty good>Click on description to download>Link is dead>Youtube video is also goneFuck. The copyright suits got that one quick.
>>4596530Where do they release stuff, on bandcamp or something
>>4596532Bandcamp and their own Youtube channel. All albums are free since they are all plundered samples. Guess that didn't stop people from claiming unfair use.
Apparently they are taking down more than just their recent album. Let's hope things get better or somebody already archived them.https://twitter.com/macroblank/status/1541503189979119616?cxt=HHwWgICyrf2-wuQqAAAA
>>4596538If you check the next tweet you can see that he himself has a MEGA archive available. https://mega.nz/folder/59sGTIxb#4JkJlxxCJ4yxHzXA0mQbtw
>>4596535the problem is a lot of these barber beats artists especially just take a jazz song, sometimes modern 2010+ and slow it down and filter it making ZERO cuts and or rearrangements. If they did so it would be fine. you can always tell when its just a little too smooth like the album in question>>4596538he just took down all of the albums that he knows were lazy sampling just to be safe
>>4596547Sometimes I forget that bit. Does he give original artist credit on the bandcamp/youtube pages?
>>4596547>the problem is a lot of these barber beats artists especially just take a jazz song, sometimes modern 2010+ and slow it down and filter it making ZERO cuts and or rearrangementsThis is what I don't like about Barber Beats becoming a thing. At least Haircuts for Men reworked the samples at least in some degree.
>>4596573noits cringe to say what you sampled desulet people figure it out if they can, if not let it goif you're listening to vaporwave and barber beats the assumption should be that its sampled music by default and you ignore that because its in a different contextbut it wouldn't matter if he didif he really did just slow/pitch -30% on a full song, full length with zero cuts then i don't think even saying Sample: "so and so" would help in this case>>4596576its a lot to do with getting that certain barber beats soundits hard to do without just taking entire passages of the song and leaving them as istoo many cuts and it starts to feel more like standard vaporwavea lot of artists are doing non-sampled barber beats now but i'm not a fani listen to these genres to avoid that overproduced fl studio/reaper "professional" overproduced edm/dubstep whatever you want to call it sound that non-sampled vaporwave is plagued with
>>4596581>its cringe to say what you sampled desuFair enoughIt just goes to show that composing actual original and good music is hard. The vast majority of vaporwave artists can't do it, even if they're very good at recontextualizing existing music into the feels we love
>>4596592i mean how hard is it to open up fl studio and lay down a simple beat and pay some dude to rap over it? could take literally minutesand those sounds aren't you playing an instrument or knowing how to play the drumsits beeps and boops and bass sounds and kick samples theres no composing to the standard pop formula anywayeverything is stolen in some way or anothernothing is original anymoreso i can't blame somebody for listening to slowed down meme music if it sounds good
>>4596530i've started downloading every vaporwave album i see posted that feels remotely good to me just in case this happens and i never get the chance to hear it again
>>4596597I get you, everything in art really is just copied and altered slightly from something that came before, all the way back to shitty cave drawings and lumpy clay figures. It's pretty rare when something comes along that feels like a eureka moment where something truly new has been created. Floral Shoppe felt like that to me, but I know that the techniques and aesthetic were drawn from earlier artists, and chopped&screwed has been around for a long time. It's more like Vek just took all those things and distilled them together into one great album that really set the scene
>>4585347h e a v e n
>>4597846For me, it's E M O T I O N
>>4597963That one is so good
