At least then I'd accept it as the norm, and not as something that has gone horribly wrong over the years and there was nothing I could do about it even though I tried, and I really did try; I tried really hard to keep things stable in my life, I did everything right and I still suffered meaningful loss and it feels like only more is coming in the future. I'm just really grateful I still have good friends, without them I don't know if I'd be able to handle things as they are. I wonder if, just like with the other things, as soon as I get complacent, as soon as I appreciate something or someone without being ready to lose them, that's when it's going to happen.
