last thread >>>3852021Post anything related to monster/effects movies.
Why in fact I have both monsters AND effects
This one has a boat, too
>>3881395>>3881458where is this from?
>>3881718godzilla vs kong
>>3881395>>3881458Disappointed they shoved mechagodzilla into the last like 9 minutes of the movie.
Bros I'm watchig GvK for the second time and I just noticed something. When
Mechagodzilla is charging up after Kong and Goji's second round of fighting in hong kong, it lingers a second on the power cords leading to MG. In the humming and whirring of the energy or whatever, parts of that whirring noise sound extremely similar to Ghidorah's cackel/screeching noise in KOTM, remember at this point Ghidorah's brains are taking over MG, I may be wrong but it seems intentional and if so is a very cool detail.
>>3888077The design of mecha godzilla reminds me of the icon of sin from DOOM. I was thinking of this the whole time I watched GvK but it just hit me know what was actually on the tip of my tongue.
>>3881458favorite fight moment in the whole movie, Godzilla getting absolutely bodied here
godzilla v kong looks really fun. I don't have hbo to watch it, will it be in theaters soon?
>>3890292It is in theaters right now
>>3890303shit I need to go see this. friend told me it was only on hbo and he said it was fun and recommended it.
I don't know if anyone has clips of the monster from forbidden planet, but that fucker scared the shit out of me as a kid.Still does.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UrG3Fx69Ws
>>3890598shame there aren't modern film stories as creative as forbidden planet or sci-fi from the golden age of literature
>>3891459shit gives me chills
>>3888079>Get the FUCK in here Kong and face me like a man!
>>3891459He never asked to be born, he was forced to. Literally the most tragic version of Gojira ever made, but also one of the deadliest, that atomic beam was literally overkill.
>>3881395>>3881458>woah it's like robo godzilla>no that's mecha godzillaI really wonder why the fat kid would call it that, since he has no idea there is a human pilot at the time and thus no reason to assume it's a mecha.I also didn't like how much comic relief was forced onto Kong.King of the Monsters was much better.
>>3893263they really should have made his face look not quite so retardedthe googly eyes really take me out of his look, everything else about his is fine, even when he's putting around on his belly like a tard.
>>3893263Fuck, that scene still gives me chills.
>>3893717They're intended to be dead fish eyes to up the uncanny "mistake" factor and hint at its origins, of course the result is a complete hit and miss with it just setting the stage for endearing chibi versions.Personally I like them and they help seperate shin gojira more from the conventional design. Despite the goofy effects there is a certain degree of creepiness to seeing such a creature rampage. Not sure if the fakeness adds or takes away from it.
>>3893263Could that Atomic Beam split Gojira Earth in half?
>>3893803Nah, Godzilla Earth has a form of electric shielding that protects him from outside damage.
>>3893824Thankfully Godzilla Earth is a pretty chill dude. Just chilsl around, gets energy like a plant, and doesn't bother anyone or anything unless they piss him off like an asshole.
>>3893853That's gotta leave a scar. A shame that's the last movie in the Monsterverse. Especially now that Monsterverse Earth has Agartha that could be explored by humanity... which erupts into a war over land, resources, hunting, ownership, humanity nukes itself extinct. Unless Godzilla sends all mutos and other nuclear friendly kaiju/titans to yoink any and all nukes from the humans that is. Does Godzilla even give a shit about humans in the first place? He DOES leave them alone unless they try something like the Mechagodzilla or some shit.
>>3881395the problem with GvK is it should have happened BEFORE KotM, not after, the stakes are so much lower
>>3893849Yeah. Unless you intentionally wake him up from his slumber and start causing shit he's fine. When you do though...
>>3894001This series was soo fucking dumb.>Mecha Godzilla can kill Godzilla>But if we kill Godzilla, Mecha Godzilla Nano bots will kill us>We have to Kill Mechgodzilla but shutting him down with the command code>... Cant you have him kill Godzilla then turn him off?>..... for some reason we cant
and some without sound for wider posting
Started watching Shin Godzilla. Goddamn they should have put it out of it's misery before it could evolvehttps://files.catbox.moe/r7vr5n.png
Anyone made any webms of that giant bat-snake kaiju/titan? I really thought it was cool how it tried to kill Kong by suffocating him instead of constricting or strangulating.
>>3894857giant bat-snake kaiju/titan
>>3894857Noizuki are pretty cool. Think it was aiming to deprive air as many ways as possible too
>>3893912godzilla doesn't care about humans so long as they kotow to him and don't try to challenge his rule, such as by building a mecha-godzilla. humanity is still considered a titan, just one that has many weaker bodies instead of one massive body and has to leverage its comparatively massive intellect to compete
>>3894083man, practical effects just look so kino on kaiju.
>>3893666He did know.
>>3886404I love Rodan being a completely unapologetic jobber and turncoat>FUCK YOU GHIDORAH I CAN BEAT YOUR ASS>AAAIIIEEEEEEEH GHIDORAH-SAMA I KNEEL!
>>3896152It seemed to me that the Mechagodzilla itself wasn't quite the problem, it was that they were using Ghidorah's brain as the OS for it. Godzilla could smell that fucker's stench from across the globe. He's smart enough to notice that when he chases that Ghidorah-trail, those humans with all the glowing blue/purple shit always seem to show up, ergo they must have something to do with it, and he should stop whatever they're doing before they bring him back for real. And given that Ghidorah appeared to assume direct control over mechagodzilla, Godzilla was completely justified in that respect. The real question is what godzilla might've done had a Mechagodzilla been made without using a titan's brain as the base. At the very least it would've been harder for him to figure out where it was being made.
>>3893750its because there is no nobilty to him, he's just a pained animal, but the most dangerous one ever born. he's creepy because he's a disaster.
>>3893263i feel this is the most accurate representation of what Gojira attack would be like. i know its just a movie but its still frightening in a way other concepts fail to reach
What Godzilla vs Kong lacked
King Ghidorah getting stoned.
>>3881395They really did MG dirty in that movie, man. They really wanted to go with "Godzilla the Robot" when every prior iteration has been "mobile artillery platform in the shape of Godzilla for a completely unrelated reason". The missiles and laser hands were nice, but Mechagodzilla 1974 had guns, missiles, and lasers put onto literally any place his body could hold one and who's primary combat mode was "FIRE EVERYTHING".
>>3888101see this is what happens when you activate the dummy plug
>>3897151Does this really happen in America?
>>3902062The whole movie is just a few of the action sequences from evangelion
The music isn't bad and Zilla's evil giggle is fun the defiant roar from Kong is cool but... Thats it the movie stinks the universe its built around stinks to high heaven and yes I believe I'll earn stick for saying this but I prefer Zilla over all this it's got more heart, I think Kong should of earned his King status here and he didn't humanity is well too evolved in it all I mean the Earth should be trashed by now guys even after the first film come on now use your imagination a single roar from godzilla or slight movement would decimate a population no innovation whatsoever just pea brained hoolies looking for cheap thrills and seeing thier god stay at the top too afraid to shake the money tree and invest in some stellar story telling fuck man I want to be blown away by these movies is that too much to ask?
>>3903856Shut the fuck up and learn proper punctuation, schizo
>>3891459>>3893263i like the music
>giant monsters smash and burn eachother>zero wounds or bloodhollywood is so fucking cucked lol i cant believe you faggots are entertained by two giant furries slapping eachother
>>3909814Don.t knock it till you've tried it...
>>3893666Skull Island was better than both. These three godzilla movies having the forced human melodrama is so annoying and boring it's almost unbearable.
King Kong vs Godzilla (1962)
>>3899087Yeah the thing that made me wonder what the fuck was up was Kyle Chandler and Stranger Things both being like "what could upset Godzilla" when their dead wife/mom made the literal fucking machine that could do such a thing. You'd think they'd check for something like that first if Godzilla had been dormant for five years.
>>3893263how would shin godzilla fare against godzilla from the monsterverse assuming that he is in his final form?
>>3904930Fucking Shiro Sagisu, a legend
>>3881458Gipsy danger ? Fuck the mecha design is abysmal.
>>3887236It was on purpose
>>3893263>>3891459Did you guys noticed this Godzilla only roars when its in pain? Form 2 for overheating, Form 3 from the J-Dam bombing and later train bombs.
>>3914919Sorry, Form 3 and 4, I forgot about the water-only first form.
>>3893750I agree with you, it's easy to empathize with a being with similar eyes to us (colored with irises and clear sclerotic like Monsterverse Gz) but with Shin Gz you really can't see either intention of malice in its eyes, not even a hint of a soul.
>>3913876His final form is like form 8 and it has engulfed the entire universe.
finally saw the movie the other day, it was really good but I felt it focused too much on Kong. Wanted to see more fighting tooVery fun movie on the whole, shame there won't be any more movies of this universe
>>3893263>>3906803how would the monsterverse godzilla react upon seeing shin godzilla. would he try to fight it immediately or will he hesitate since it is in great pain?
>>3902537yep, niggers mouthing off cops doing their job, thought the world already knew that
>>3899831Shin somehow managed to make white collars arguing in a room the most interesting human characters in the entire franchise. It's lightning in a bottle for all it did.
>>3893263>his breath is burning tokyo>atomic breath turns into a funnel>it gets much worst
>>3888077MEcha godzilla with the kung lao fatality.
>>3888079Shinfags eternally btfo
>>3912926which pixel is king kong?
>>3886404Unironically the Starscream of the Kaijuverse
>>3914165I don't know why they didn't just go with Jet Jaguar. If they wanted a bipedal mech then do that. Don't pretend you want man to be the Apex predator when all you did was just make a robot Gojira. What the Fuck dude. It looks like the first version of Shin Godzilla. But gayer
>>3893263Oh Fuck. I like the 2014 version for the build up. But this actually looks like a nuke went off instead of a simple lazer beam. Thats rad
>>3918995The new Jet Jaguar looked fucking goofy at first, but it's grown on me so much. It being a piloted robot with a crazy old bastard at the helm speaking in poetic verses or whatever the hell he does is just the right level of goofy. It was fun to watch Manlet Jaguar tussle with the red Rodan. Shame about
Anguirus getting butchered
though, that was an unfair fight.
>>3888079>that mario kart final lap music cue
>>3918995wait, is the anime out?
>>3924256it's currently airing in Japan and on Netflix Japan weekly, yes.
>>3888084>>3888087>trying to fight godzilla in the middle of the oceanwhat the fuck was he thinking
>>3926214He didn't have much of a choice.
>>3896684>>3898946No idea why they decided to make Gigan so prominent in this movie and also give him a visual rework but I'm glad they did.
>>3896684>>3897151>Final WarsWhat were they thinking?
>>3893717this Godzilla is supposed to lack emotion and personality and the eyes reflect that
>>3897151hold on, I think this is the era of godzilla movies I need to be watching
>>3934190Final War is really it's own thing.
>>3915179IMO Monsterverse would likely fight and kill Shin. Monsterverse-zilla has been explicitly stated that his purpose is to maintain order and keep the other Titans in line. Shin-zilla is not a natural Titan, he's a mutant driven by what little instinct he has, and is in enormous pain on top of the leaking radiation everywhere.Monsterverse might try to do a domination on Shin first, but when it fails (and Shin keeps making a mess of things), the fight begins, and since Monsterverse is actually intelligent and not a wildly thrashing oversized animal, there's only really one way the fight can go.
>>3918454They made a Pacific Rim anime? Well I guess I'm out of the loop.
>>3937293Yeah it just came out a few months ago. It's surprisingly decent. Called Pacific Rim: The Black. only 7 episodes but it's already renewed for a second season
>>3881395Worst Mechagodzilla so far
>>3919813His debut is one of the best kaiju movies ever made thoughhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWyKyxWaGVY
>>3888089>I CAN'T BREATHE
>>3901421>for a completely unrelated reasonThere's always a reason
>>3946020>MG1 needed the disguise>MG2 and Kiryu built off the bones of original GodzillaMonsterverse MG was made solely to make a Godzilla robot.
>>3888079Stop resisting Kong.
>>3914165looks like an off-brand 00s transformer, so poor
>>3894001reminds me of the admiral and zorah magdaros
i dont have the webm sorryhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0NQX6bSp4A
>>3955113Where is part 2? Or the ending scene with the flowers?
I need help you guys. I'm trying to remember the name of an old kaiju movie I watched once when I was a kid. It was in black and white, and the only scene I remember with any clarity was a winged monster attacking and eating a car full of people on like, a monorail or something? It was something like Rodan but different, and that's literally the only scene I can remember from the whole movie and I've been trying to remember what it's called so I can scratch this mental itch I've had for actual years.
why is this more memorable >>3933957 than this >>3881458
That new movie fucking sucked
>>3910930did monke died
>>3924183>putting godzilla in your mouthwhat a fucking maroon
wuts goin in in this thread
>>3960985Poastin' kaiju, as God(zilla) intended.
>>3888101I'm so fucking glad they made the kaiju move faster in GvK.
>>3886578King Kong should have won. They let Godzilla to pander to the Chinese crowd
>>3894025Why not this? Bunch of mechs harpoon his scaled ass, blast off into space, fire middle after missile till gone.
>>3893995>>3893996I was wanting this to not suck, Had promise for this trilogy but fuck it just wasn't good.
>>3945621nah that's the one in RPO
>>3893912Didn't hear that Kong is getting a netflix series based in this universe, huh?
>>3967379Is Netflix gonna have Kong played by a insert clickbait bullshit here?webbum not related
>>3901421if he had just been standing still shooting guns, it would have been pretty boring. I liked this one that had jets and shit to literally help him outfight godzilla
>>3926214did he have any other option?
>>3881458That's actually a pretty enjoyable design for mechagodzilla I'll be God damned
>>3894083Nice diamond armor, faggot.
>>3897803I love how Toho bought the rights to zilla just to absolutely cuck him.
>>3916537I remember shitting bricks the first time I saw this. I miss old video stores :/
>>3941153I need more of whatever this is.
>>3946194No no no, thats "Baragon," "Barugon" fought Gamera.
>>3957997Because of MG's funky ass theme song and wombo combo attacks.
does anyone have the clip from godzilla 2014 where they're at like a bridge at night and the lightning from a storm or something illuminates godzilla's silhouette?
>>3963662mothra is so bad ass in these movies
>>3978751What a great scene. Clever design, clever reveal, and subsequent characteristics like the rope and claws add to the flavor. The soldiers aren't mooks either, after the surprise attack they adapt and fight it realistically for the most part. Bullets do damage as you would expect them to. Overall it's a perfect back and forth between the unnatural and the well equipped. The Skull Island movies are my favorite in those regards, few other movies ever care to explore an ecosystem like they do, instead focusing on a single creature, with all the drawbacks that come with it like plot armor and hyper intelligence. You can't just shoot the Tyrannosaurus and have it go down like an elephant would.
Can anyone explain why this genre is so enjoyable? The modern Hollywood stuff like Godzilla (2014) and Pacific Rim makes perfect sense, because its all visual spectacle that anyone can enjoy. But the older stuff lacks that spectacle completely, and it's often cheesy enough to feel like a kids show along super sentai stuff.Despite all that, I love this genre. Googly-eye Shin Godzilla is in my top 3 (albeit, it also had very nice spectacle, with a great buildup to an even greater climax). In this thread, my favorite webms are >>3971994, >>3976437, >>3933957, and >>3916537. I enjoy it even when its clearly just a short asian dude in a rubber suit. But why?
>>3978988because at a basic level everyone wants to see a big monster fight another big monster or watch someone fight a monster.
>>3978988>>3979218and it even extends to just wanting to watch a big monster wreck stuff. Also, some of the charm of the older stuff is seeing the effort put in(as cheesy as the end product sometimes ended up being). You can just appreciate the work they had to do
>>3978751whoever did the frame smoothening in this is an asshole
>>3930054>What were they thinking?"Hey, let's make a stupid and fun kaiju battle royale movie."
>>3979939not enough oranget. Trumpanzee
>>3881458>>3888084>>3888104wow this is awful. thanks for the webms. so basically shin godzilla is still the only good kaiju movie
>>3983989Kaiju movies aren't supposed to be good.
