I love uplifting, mind you, but any trance is fun to listen and dance to, especially with other people who appreciate it.I lived near San Francisco for the past few years and the trance scene here was underwhelming to say the least...the worst part is when DJs like Armin van Buuren only play their "big room" garbage, because I believe they think they're catering to American taste. I want to live somewhere in the world where trance is appreciated by more than just a few people. Am I fooling myself?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1VCIwGbYQchttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6lPhU27-kYhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-sQaLKKX0M

>>3703659Very intriguing...are these raves like a few dozen people who know each other getting together, or gatherings of hundreds or thousands plus?>>3704866Wow, what an incredible song!!! I started listening to trance in 2009, and I find many of the older songs sound dated, but the timeless ones like your song...there's absolutely nothing like them. As close to a perfect song as you can get.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7sSq8eiFoo
>>3705995>>3704866Probably my favorite song from the 90s:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCJEXQSGaRw
>>3703624Look for underground goa trance/psytrance events, especially open air campouts. As long as you can put up with the hippies they are the best trance events left. If you're a euro, suntrip records in in Belgium has been throwing great "old is gold" parties for 15+ years keeping the 90s spirit alive.

>>3706137darkpsy can be cool too, i prefer the uplifting type in outdoor settings but its nice to switch it up sometimes with a night of having your face melted in a warehouse all night.
>>3706129>>3703624unfortunately i'm american though so the options for good trance are a lot harder to find and more spread out. I've found the best resource to be this: https://www.fractaltribe.org/blog/north-american-psytrance-festival-guide-2020 . I've gone to probably about 10 events that I found there in the past 5 years before the chinaflu hit and it was always an amazing time. typically 50-200 people camping out in the middle of nowhere getting blasted on psys and stims and dancing to psychedelic trance for an entire weekend straight. The crowds at these types of parties tend to be older and more mature than your typical pop culture rave sponsored by alcohol and red bull. People are legitimately there for the music, and everyone usually knows how to handle their drugs. Nothing but great vibes at goa parties. I'm hoping to hit up the party in the Mojave Desert in April if it actually happens.

Maybe I'm just more sensitive because I'm still running MP-HC which refuses to play 1 frame video streams, but I hate these malformed webms with a firery passion. I thought we had collectively agreed to let that shit die once everyone figured out how to properly encode music webms? Especially since the 6MB limit alleviated a lot of file size pressure.Still one step above the fools that go around gutting headers to produce completely broken files, but come on - we're better than that!

>>3712300Holy shit, I thought the time hack had been patched out
>>3713568Good to know. It's actually one of the things I appreciate about MP-HC that it looks at the stream duration and not the container duration.>>3713575Nah, I know of at least 3 ways to get by it. The thing is - there's maybe a dozen people who seriously care and testing fucking sucks (it's a black box), so it's not wonder there hasn't been a comprehensive write-up. Most of us are pretty sure detection works via cue points in the mkv header, but the specifics are very murky (and weird), so we all stopped looking once we had our personal work-arounds (at least as far as I know). I still don't fully understand the restrictions, just how to get around them reliably and I don't want to invest several more hours figuring out the specifics to a point where I can write a comprehensive guide.Cue points, the lynchpin of the whole affair, are automatically generated at each keyframe. That leaves you with 3 works-arounds I've seen in the wild:1) Fix it in post. Encode normally, then go and delete parts of the mkv header. I've seen it work, but it tends to produce incredibly broken files.2) Avoid the problem. If your video stream cuts out after a single frame, there will be no keyframes and thus no cue points. Works, but also breaks playback and seeking on some players and it has the obvious limitation of only working with a still image.3) Adapt your video. By carefully controlling the amount and location of keyframes you can create normal video files that still avoid detection. This is my preferred method as it is 100% compatible and allows for full video (webm related, recycled/reencoded from a previous trance thread about a year ago).

Testing webm. It was giving me shit and only rendering 1 or 2 minutes of the song instead of the full lot
For some retarded reason, some videos that I convert to webm using Webm for Bakas will not convert the whole video so songs gets cut off at the end once the file size reaches the 4mb limit so I can't make most of these webms work
Figured out why it was cutting the ends off. Now have to figure out a way to get this shit under 4MB because enabling the tick to get the filesize down doesn't reduce quality but cuts the end off.
Just realised the file size limit is 6 not 4, sweet. Still shame about the 5 minute cap.
