>>3662077Dunno if I'm fucking up but is there a reason for the Gondola archive never being posted?https://gondola.stravers.net/list
November through February are the best time for Gondola.Mainly because of how cold and lonely these months feel.
>>3673766>>3674210>>3674536this is the orchestr/a/ version of konosuba ED2 - "wanna go home"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OTRcTvGNXA&ab_channel=SyncFagSyncFag

>>3677390Try limiting your exposure to websites such as 4chan, Reddit, forums, and anything news related. >>3682493It's not, it's from a video of a guy playing a traditional Irish tin flute song>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpN36I9xr-o
I don't understand the appeal of gondola. The fill me with dread for some reason.
>>3683034thats the appeal
/r/ing the music source in this gondola>>3683034I like the melancholy that is present in most gondolas. I don't think that it inspires dread, and at least for me many videos feel "autumn-like" if that makes sense?
>>3683034My take on it is that they inspire contemplation. Wether the setting is a lonely park with somber music or a crowded train station with something upbeat, they will still evoke some feeling of wistfulness. The point of gondola is that he's always a passive observer, never interfering and only ever soaking up the scenery. Personally I find gondola calming and serene, but I can also understand how he can inspire dread in spite of a positive tone for the music/setting. Its likely that it just comes from how our minds are wired.
here is some art you guys can use or just make your own and share if you want.>>>/i/626908
>>3673762That's from Westerado, an Adult Swim game. I couldn't tell you which song it is exactly but iirc it's the main theme.>>3683156Check the metadata retard.

>>3681418there's an animated version of that train image floating around, I'll see if I can find it for ya. also, what's with all the tkmiz gondolas lately? Not that I'm complaining.
>>3685994>>3686000pretty damn good
>>3681425Actually liked the one with the glitched frames anon, it doesn't bother
>>3683735Pretty sure it's a variation on the laputa theme, though I'm not sure what exactly.
>>3687286I love this one. All of Kino's song's are great, but this one in particular... It's very relaxing.
>>3688363why the weirdass watermark tho
>>3689822better question is why has it been cut to be shorter than the original in an awful spot?
>>3662482>>3662078Why do these make me feel so much emotion? Do you feel them too?It makes me feel sad like I'm about to cry.It feels a little right, and a little wrong, but its so beautiful at the same time, and I question the meaning of being alive. What the best way to live through life would be? Would it be to sit there and look at the world go on?
>>3662077It had to be compressed pretty hard, but I finally went and animated one of my gondola's from awhile ago. I love these threads lads.
What makes Gondolas so beautiful, anons? I think something could be said about the simple pairing of soothing music with pretty images that let your imagination run wild, being observers of these worlds but not existing in them, but Gondola is definitely crucial to the enjoyment. Is it because he feels out of place? Do we somehow relate to that? Feeling like you don't belong, that you're just this figure that kind of wanders through life, detached but still very much in the world? These aren't rhetorical questions to make myself feel smart, I'm genuinely curious because I genuinely can't place why I love Gondola so much after all these years. This one has always been one of my favorites, saved it from eightch*n circa 2016
this is my first time making one, hope you folks enjoy
>>3673628>>3684153yeah it's Sigur Ros - Samskeyti
>>3690939Empathic Medium a story experiencing device.Gondola is a character you know and have prior experience with. You are trained to know to place yourself in Gondola's position which increases the ability of the viewer to understand the creator.Even if the creator had no intention you will still get drawn into the piece/video like you would with no other.Gondola is part of your family sort of.It's like seeing a relative experience something.
>>3686807Similar themes. Girls Last Tour is practically Gondola the anime. +A soundtrack with basically every track being excellent for Gondola.
>>3662080nice ! music ?
>>3691021I like it
>>3691542Interesting point, but I was certainly drawn towards Gondolas when I first started seeing them, before I would have been "trained" to self-insert as him or had any form of prior experience, and I like to think most people are in the same boat. Unless you'd say that we somehow instinctively and naturally inserted as him, which I would probably agree with.I really like >which increases the ability of the viewer to understand the creator.I completely agree, regardless of the reason why we insert in the first place.
>>3673849God, VA-11 HALL-A is one of my favorite games of all time now. Such a good soundtrack, too. Good stuff, anon.Mind if I use that image with a different song?
>>3690939And the pictures don't even have to be pretty, take yours for example, it is quite grim. But no matter what happens to Gondola, we know we will see him again. He is this figure who has seen and been through it all, yet still somehow remains pure and innocent in our eyes. We associate him with a certain continuity, which the music usually amplifies. He is there to let us know that the comfortable, existential stillness we are witnessing in his pictures is there to pass, and it must be appreciated before it does.
>>3691724>But no matter what happens to Gondola, we know we will see him again. He is this figure who has seen and been through it all, yet still somehow remains pure and innocent in our eyes.I really like this. At the risk of sticking my head even further up my own ass, I'd almost say that what you said draws parallels between Christ and Gondola, as silly as that sounds. Someone who, well, like you said, has been through it all but remains pure and innocent.>We associate him with a certain continuity, which the music usually amplifiesExplain this, though. How does the music amplify it?
>>3691800Gondola music is usually calm in its nature, either just relaxing or, oftentimes, melancholic. Even the happier tunes we listen to here tend to be calming. All such music, in my opinion, invokes a sense of timelessness.I am no musician, but my guess is that the focus on long notes and less sudden, violent sounds are what give this impression. Essentially, there is a more continuous transition between sounds, forming that "continuity" I mentioned.Proper Gondola music is the kind of music that makes you think about life, and there is certainly something very timeless about it.
got inspired, here's my first contribution.

>>3691021very nice anon, i like it a lot
>>3689929i dont think anyone has a concrete answer, but gondola taught me that everything is a little easier and a little nicer if you're able to appreciate the world and the nice moments it gives you sometimes. things like seeing a sunset even, it's small and common, but being able to just look at it and appreciate that moment in time, that's really important
Piping hot outta the oven
>>3662077Link to song please
>>3694948lovely. good one fren
fresh out the kitchen
>>3689929I'd call this melancholiaFor me, Gondola tells how the world can be beautiful, and how it's at the same time easy and hard to accept it as it isI know I can't and won't change the world, so I shall just accept it, feel its beauty, and relax
>>3693191Love this one ALOT. Reminds me of my dreams where the "lights " are turned off in the universe.
