They added hardware acceleration, so it uses your GPU instead of CPU.
Usually sits at 3% CPU at max, but that's because I'm on an old i3, probably insignificant to a newer cpu.
If gaming is a concern there's Game mode, which disables rainmeter untill you tick it off.

In terms of color schema I'm curious. Personally wound up preferring more universally darker schemes as that seems to be easier on the eyes but that is mostly anecdotal.

Probably more appropriate would be picking a palette based on something like this:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4734149/

which discusses effects of LED photoemission on circadian systems and eye physiology. I'd personally like something that maintains proper circadian rhythms while providing clarity and forestalling age-related macular degeneration. I'm beginning to think that those goals may be in opposition of each other.. Probably necessitates switching themes based on time, though I've never been able to use a light color scheme any period of time without some discomfort.

I guess I'm attaching my desktop and applications (it's not very tech-savvy) as its my default scheme and I'm wondering if another palette would work better.

On that note, what good debian packages are there for this? Just some kind of lightweight color schema manager?

Red, yellow, blue is used often with grey. Grey is fairly neutral so you won't have many problems finding colours to go with it. It's just when you have a blue tinge to it or some other tinge that you'd have to be careful.

I should feel bad for posting here, since my desktop can hardly be considered as a rice attempt. What is overall experience with Pop!_OS?
I'm considering switch from Fedora 32 to Pop, is good to see a dedicated iso for NVIDIA Drivers and Podman on Fedora doesn't fit all my needs.
>>
>>2168796
>What is overall experience with Pop!_OS?
Pretty excellent, at least for my user case. My laptop has low specs, in fact when I was installing Pop_OS I was warned by the installer that my system had a slightly worse CPU power compared to the system requirements of Pop_OS. According to the installer, I should have expected slowdowns and freezes, but what I actually got was a smooth and solid experience. I'm using the Intel/AMD version right now, but yeah, it's great that they provide different versions based on the graphic card of your machine.
>>
>>2168800
Thanks!
What is your user case?
>>
>>2168818
>What is your user case?
I mostly use my laptop for browsing the net, watching media content using mpv (which works great out of the box with not tweaking, since the system has detected the best settings according to my specs) and smart working through Google services, since the school I'm working in is subscried to the Google GSuite. The integration of Nautilus with online accounts is also really good and helps a lot with browsing the files on Google Drive.
>>
>>2168916
Thanks again, my user case is to use for run docker containers with Python and SQL/NoSQL, web browsing and emulate retro games.
Would be Pop!_OS good for me?
>>
>>2168926
>Would be Pop!_OS good for me?
I don't know the meaning of a docker container, but for the rest I would say absolutely yes. For retro gaming, you can download Retro Arch, which works really well on Linux and even the support for controllers has become better and better over the years. I could set my SNES iBuffalo controller very easily and it works as well as it does on Windows.
