It hasn't aged all that well in my opinion, but there's something about it that has a really nice balance between vibrant colours and pretty effects, and a touch of minimalism. I think Windows 10 kind of looks like shit and feels really flat and dull. Maybe this stuff from a decade ago can seem kind of clunky and overdone now in comparison to today's ultra-minimalism, but back then it felt really colourful and nice, and I miss that. Any time I saw a PC that was off the regular domain and had the default appearance felt special. It looked very good in comparison. Unfortunately, living with just the clunkiness and not with any of the magic gives me quite bad memories. It did the job but outside of home use, 10 blows it away. I'll miss it on a nostalgia level but I'm happy to see it go.
