Small chuuba did a subathon and got chargebacked into the negatives. Apparently it's been happening to other chuubas as well. Anyone heard or seen anything?
>>51764235Unless it happens to Ironmouse Twitch won't do anything
>>51764235Another lovely Twitch feature.
>>51764235Twitch is trying to pay its debt
>>51764235what is the alternative? remove chargeback?is not like she lost any money anyways
deserved for begging
>>51764235Does twitch still take more money than what you get from chargebacks? If so based
>>51764941i think youtube covers all chargebacks so the streamer still gets the money
>>51766490twitch is an indie company anon, give them a break. They dont have unlimited money like google
>>51766330The creator basically shoulders the transaction fee from the payment provider. It's not a twitch exclusive thing as well, but a rather common attack for a lot of sevices that offer refunds (but ultimately stupid because you leave a lot of traces and don't gain much)
>>51764941>is not like she lost any money anywaysAckshually you might have to pay processing fees but don't quote me on that.
>>51767256You don’t lose anything either they’ll at most ban the card or email on first attempt not even a guarantee. Not really a deterrent either
The streamer actually loses money from this through fees? What the hell Twitch
>>51770768Beezos needs to have more money to build Penis Rocket II
>>51766490Cite your sources because I really doubt that's true
>>51764235Wait, what? The whole point of streaming platform monetization was to protect creators from chargebacks on other platforms like Streamlabs who will explicitly tell you to go fuck yourself.
>>51764235So by the numbers you sayingnot a single soul on this subathon aside the chargebacker subbed to this idiot?>"-$15.27 Paid subs"
>subathonDeserved
>>51764235Good.Chuuba need to learn to stop doing donothon.
>>51772011The weird part is how many people give half their money to Twitch instead of going through Streamlabs.
>>51764405>he thinks it doesnt
>>51764235Taking a guess here that the change back is probably a separate event from the gifting itself. Probably a different colum is the money she got during her subathon and this is a day or so after, in which case we would need to see those combined. Is twitch deducting the whole 5$ from the streamer of just what they payout from mthe sub? If it's the latter then yeah it sucks and twitch should come up with better safeguards, but the streamer isn't lossing money they didn't get. If it's more then the payout then twitch is actually scamming the streamer, which is appalling behaviour.
>>51764235Good, subathons shouldn't be a thing
>>51764235finally a funny twitter screencap
>>51764235That shit was already a problem back in ~2016 when people would donate huge sums via TTS for clout and shoutouts and then chargeback afterwards.
As someone who isn't a lying thief conman, how does this work, anyhow? Does one just call up the credit card company and say they don't feel like paying, or what?
lmao get fucked beggarEarn your subs through good content, not through panhandling like a bum
>>51764235Twitch is a perfectly balanced game with no exploits.
Shouldn't try to scam people with *tons then. Charge backs are an issue on steam too given the fees associated to it.
>>51766636idk if b8 but twitch is owned by amazon
>>51776155It's really easy and you can do it from the credit company's app or website. Just pick a transaction, select dispute, and choose or write "services not rendered" as the reason. The chargeback is supposed to be investigated before you get a refund, but I guess everyone is lazy now.
>>51776155Yup. They'll contact their card (or bank) and dispute the charge.https://www.investopedia.com/terms/c/chargeback.asp
Are there any chuubas that utilize crypto for donations? Chargebacks are impossible if one wanted to donate money in, say, Bitcoin.
>>51776717He's being sarcastic, retard.
>>51776777Note that most companies will blacklist whatever cards or accounts were involved if you do a chargeback. That's true even if you're doing it for legit reasons.
>chargeback a company owned by AmazonWhat could possibly go wrong?
>>51777323You're implying Twitch actually gives a fuck. They'd rather steal the money back from the streamers.
>>51775967Most people chargeback via PayPal and then the person gets stuck with the transaction fees. Doing it directly through twitch is a different scam
>>51777413Twitch devs are dumb, but their accounting department isn’t. Companies take chargebacks seriously
>>51764235>Twitchkek deserved
