Looks like you don't have any divisions with decent breakthrough? Try adding explosives battalions/support and making enforcers/power armor (later on you can also use APCs and tanks with motorized). Well it won't be chronologically accurate (it goes as far as having the ZX solution of fusing reploid and humans forcefully as an option in the main focus tree), the world starts fully neutral and starts to get taken over by mavericks. Ideology would basically be status quo, anti human, reploid separatist and radical humanist.
I also tested out a system of buffs to mimic the game, where beating a fire or cutter themed maverick gives your troops a jungle combat buff to go attack Yammark in the Amazon.
It is actually really simple since there are so few nations and no way in hell am I tackling map changes to add space combat, my main worries have been related to the tech tree and if I want to tweak that.

And HoI4 caps the amount of divisions you can train at time according to the number of already fielded ones or something.
You can cheese that by designing a divisions with a single infantry, spam the shit out of it and when they're out you just select all and swap to your desired template

Hello, /vst/!

I'm writing this post because I'm looking for active coders to help me and the team finish our mod. We're especially looking for modders with technology modding experience.

The mod we're working on is called The Lost Isles. TLI is a total conversion mod set in the My Little Pony universe about 50 years before the show. We chose not to feature Equestria itself though, the mod takes place in an original part of the MLP world. TLI is set in the equivalent of 19th century, going from the Napoleonic Wars up to around 1880s. We chose to remake the tech tree from scratch to better suit the era and setting we're portraying, with a heavy focus smaller scale and faster paced combat. We will also feature unique technologies and units for each species.

TLI is first and foremost a gameplay mod. We put an emphasis on player freedom and emergent scenarios over handcrafted stories.
TLI is not affiliated with EaW in any way.

The tech and mechanics are almost fully planned already. The map is halfway finished, and the tech is around 70% coded. We need help to finish up the tech for now.

This mod will show 70's in which USA stands at the top of the world - they defeated both Axis, and Soviet union during WW2 that lasted until 51. This bloodiest war in history ended with one world hegemon - USA. And in this position USA standed for 20 years. Modern world however with every passing day changes more and more. and USA domination soon will come to an end.
In Western Europe Regional Powers - UK, France and Germany fight over scraps of power, with animosities that are continuing ever since Germany left war almost unpunished.
In eastern Europe Czechoslovakia is at brink of collapse, with Poland, Ukraine, Hungary and Romania preparing for this spark that will surely restart conflict in the region. Little to the north Lithuania and Belarus are waiting for moment of Polish weakness to reclaim land they consider to be their birthright.
Failed state of russia is not only still partially occupied by American forces, but also eaten from inside by corruption, struggling with heavy debt, and experiencing almost constant acts of terror.
If Russia is sick man of Eurasia then failed experiment to the south of Russia - Mountain Republic is bedridden cripple. Created to protect Minorites from russia, and guarantee american oil monopoly in the area, its going all the way from Volga germany to the southern Azerbaijan. And its mere months from dying. Destruction of Mountain Republic will kickstart failure of American system, that will spread in every direction.
In Balkans Yugoslavia and their sphere - Communist states of Greece, Bulgaria and Albania, are awaiting future events, ready to exploit any moment of weakness in europe.
In Asia Nationalist china is slowly going back on right track, and unless some powerful nation stops them, soon they will become leading power on continent.

Those of you who've followed these thread before might remember the flooded world mod I've been working on. Well, I finally managed to crack the map code, and the game is now playable once again. With that, I've begun working on the mod itself, pic related is what I've done to the politics screen so far. While the leader and military staff are placeholders, you'll notice new laws, designers etc.

But most importantly the new "National Character" section of the politics screen. These are practically national spirits, except they stick with you through out the entire game, with significant buffs that alter gameplay. The new system's working as intended, and the intention is to eventually give every nation their own set of National Characteristic.

With this out of the way, I'll start moving on to creating a new tech tree, inspired by Endless Space 2's tech tree, so it's going to be a single tree with all the tech in it.

Old World Blues is the best mod. Fuck I almost didn't play this game at all if it wasn't for OWB. Learnt a lot from the MOJAVE territories campaign. More simplified, no naval, limited air attacks etc. Plenty of time to figure it all out. Now can finally win as Germany.

More progress on the flooded earth mod; I've begun work on implementing victory points, as seen here. Additionally I cracked the tech tree code, and have laid the groundworks for a new tech tree. As I mentioned previously, all technology will be on a single tech tree, starting from a centerpoint, visible here with the icon that has the fist and waves.

The navy lacks need, since the ships aren't balanced and the AI produces crap and deletes most of them before they're finished. It works better in multiplayer. But the biggest problem is that naval bombers are too powerful.
The airforce is annoying, requires perfect micro, is centred entirely around fighters. Strat bombing is incredibly overpowered but not fun.
They both have the same problems as the rest of hoi, poor balance and the ai can't use it well. Some mods address those problems.

TNO's biggest problem is that there is no gameplay. Unless they add war (which doesn't work well in hoi4 for the time period) it will always be boring. It's a visual novel that has bad writing currently and lots of superfluous mechanics that don't impact the game.

That's always been a problem with paradox games. Just watch a few HoI4 videos by Pravus or some other youtuber, that should give you the general idea (I recommend Pravus because I'm pretty sure he's the only one who is actually playing OWB and it's significantly different from vanilla).

what "launcher" are you using? Don't use the pdx v2 launcher - that's utter bullshit. Go with irony mod manager, it even allows you to have modsets and queueing functions when playing with mods.

Let me tell you how I do it
>download the mod from the workshop downloader io
>make sure the hoi4 mod folder in documents exists
>make a new folder and put the mod files all in there
>the DESCRIPTOR has to be copied outside into the mod folder itself, so you have both the mod and the desc next to each other inside the hoi4 mod folder
>open the desc with text and add a path
>find the mod in the launcher by itself, and play

If you're not counting vanilla+ overhaul mods like Total War, that seems to be the case.

I'm getting to the point where I may have to try OWB again, vanilla is so fucking bad. It just had so much different shit I couldn't be bothered. And I couldn't find a faction that grabbed me. The Luchas almost did but their tree wasn't autisticlly inside wrestling enough for me.

Far as I'm aware it is. The new supply system is an absolute shitshow to get working on overhaul mods since Paradox in their infinite wisdow didn't provide any kind of documentation. Apparently that's coming in a week or two though.
