Does Caravaneer 2 belong on this board? I just want to discuss similar games and the complete lack of decent economy simulators.
>>
I am unaware of this game. Please shill it to me.
>>
>>692894
It’s bretty gud.
>>
>>692903
Thanks m8, I'll check it out.
>>
>>692838
The board is fairly inclusive as long as you manage to keep things relevant. I'd say this one involves a fair deal of planning and managing to count.
Space Rangers 2 is a well-regarded classic here. Other space sims also tend to have have trading mechanics. >>681289
Micro and macro scale transport tycoon type games are fairly numerous, too.
>>692894
A post apocalyptic game about trading out in the desert. Get some animals, load them up with merchandise, don't forget the water and food for the journey - enough for both for your men and your beasts. There's also a main story and quests on top of it.
I mostly played the first one - not too shabby. They're flash games so getting them to run today might be an issue. The second one is also sold on Steam, apparently.
>>
Really loved these games. If you haven't, check the Patrician/Port Royal/Rise of Venice series, also has you running trade convoys.
Though, I find Caravaneer better because of the setting, the battles, and the towns' economy feel much less generic
>>
>>692838
I never expected to see caravaneer 2 on this board, the game is pretty great for a webbrowser game, the best way to call it is; FALLOUT 1 CARAVANS, also the game have a lot of hidden stuff on quests you can miss or ruin if you take a side on a faction conflict too soon, like a companion treated as a messiah by a tribe, or a unique hunting crossbow or 9 giant trucks with insane cargo space

when I see this on Steam, I know the game is either a masterpiece in the rough or an unplayable turd that probably doubles as a bitcoin miner.
>>
Here's a tip for everyone, female cattle can get pregnant if you have male cattle too, and they start to produce milk wich you auto harvest doubling as both water/food, oxens are the best animals for big caravans but they eat a lof and drink a lot, horses are the fastest, but camels are better resource wise, sheep is better for reselling i think, also your starting vault generates free food you can take and sell on the 4 villages next to you.

i'm gonna wait for Caravaneer 3
>>
I remember this game. Premiere kino. Was so excited to play it as a kid, might buy it rn
>>
>>692838
These games were the best. what are some other games like them?
>>
>>694380
Among Flash games there was also Frontier. Somehow I never got around to playing it.
>>
>>
>>692838
Capitalism Lab is a decent/passable economic simulator. But it could easily be a lot better
>>
>>695205
This was my shit back in the day.
>>
>>692838
Economy simulators like the guild 2? The third one is in development hell and is complete shit
>>
Can you make a wagon fort with your caravan for combat?
>>
>>692838
I'm gonna side track the thread slightly.
Is there a criminal underworld simulator on the levels of at least Caravneer, where you start small grow big and it does at least a decent job simulating stuff like making drugs, to sell to druggies and laundering the money using genuine businesses.
>>
>>695624
No, but combat at further into the game is so broken you have to hide behind your line of wagons.
>>
>>695205
what came first? war band or this game?

>>
>>692894
Fallout but you control a nomad caravanee instead of a lone warrior.
>>
>>695634
Pizza Syndicate comes to mind. You pose as a legit business while doing some underhanded stuff like money laundering, sabotage and stuff. However, I don't remember the game very well and I mostly just watched my brother play it.
>>
>>693925
It's a unique game for sure.
>>
>>693925
>>696132
Who the FUCK played Caravaneer on steam? It's a flash game for G-d's sake.
Don't tell me you paid real money as well.
>>
>>696134
Support the poor developer, he had to abandon his dream of being a game dev because no one took him serious when he said he made a bowser game.
>>
>>695937
You could include the "early access" period of Mountain Blade
>>
>>696211
havent played it but that sad, i guess the neo scavenger dev got lucky when some youtubers shilled it
>>
>>695939
You actually control the lone warrior, the other caravan members are mercs who can die and the game continues, but if your starting character dies is game over.

ive been playing shadow empire which is pretty neat, its part 4x like civ, part wargame in a sci fi post apocalyptic setting on thoer planets, you start with a small city and have to go out and get resources, and set up a pretty complex logistical network to transport the goods to your city, and from the city to new buildings and your troops. military units also carry a stock of ammo, food, fuel so if youre waging war or just sending troops out you need to make sure your logistical network is built up behind them, make sure it can handle the sudden load of demand when you get into a battle and tonnes of units are suddenly requesting a shitload of ammunition and replacements. the combat itsself is also great, how i wish civ was, more like an actual wargame. you have to customize your units, their armour, weapons etc, for vehicles things like engine type too. these also some light crusade kings like elements where you have to manage your government officials, they all owe ideological beliefs and personalities, stats, and a relationship level with you

Some of us aren't poor and enjoy supporting people who make content we like. You'll understand when you get a job and move out of your mother's basement.

>Caravaneer 2
Never heard of it, but looks interesting.
>>
>>696737
This is an trading sim, so I don't think having Trump would be that out of the question. And yeah, other guy definitely looks like Putin.
>>
>>696737
>omg he new abt DJT before the election
Summer child. He's been a pop culture fixture, tabloid phenomenon, butt of jokes, cameo man, wrestling guest and reality TV sensation over like the last 40 fucking years. poking fun at him was maybe a new thing when your parents were little kids. Calling him a dirtbag has been a New York tradition for decades, part of his inheritance really.

literally the only new thing in 2016 was his party registration.
>>
>>692838
Fun game, combat breaks in half the moment snipers and rocket launchers come into play.
Stats were really fucked too, I recall strength being ridiculously important.
>>
>>697910
yes, and your player character is bound to suck compared to the late game character that can have more than a total sum of 20 points invested in strength/agility/intelligence/thatotherstat
>>
Holy shit I was just thinking about this game and trying to remember the title.
>>
>>696701
This is the least funny most overplayed joke of the year.

Yeah not-trump is a slaver and not-putin is the ultimate villain who nukes a whole town if you follow the evil path.

Sorry but prior to his president status, all that I had known of OrangeMan only was his appearances in Home Alone 2 and that one shitty movie about ghost-fucking or something...
(also he once gave a Woman Of The Year award to a tranny, but mysteriously noone acknowledges that happenning)
>>
How does it play?
>>
>>702791
The combat? Badly.
You play it for the trading.
>>
>>700567
Anons here seem eager to try assorted loosely on-topic games you bring them (unlike, say /vrpg/). I think strategy gamers are starved for variety.
>>
Replayed Caravaneer 1 for the first time since it came out all that long ago. It's quite more disappointing than I remember.
Bandits are a massive bother. They attack no matter their chances, and in the early game you can't even avoid them.
Trading is wonky. There are several items that won't ever turn you a profit, such as cotton, food or fodder. But they need to be transported anyway or production grinds down.
Once you get to the capital, you can easily make millions selling alcohol there. All the best equipment is there too, so the game is a matter of just reaching it, then you're in the endgame already.

If you want a tip though, use horses with small metal carts, each one pulls over 500 kg, and Land Rovers for transporting your people. You'll move at 15 km/h, spending much less resources than any other setup
>>
Any tips to get massive dosh early game before you leave the 4 villages and after you visit the first group of settlements?
>>
>>705118
here's a broken tip, end game content is deciding between the government or the desert patrols (i forgot their names) on the south, because i reached the north cities first i got the quest to escort and guide a sniper to the south to assasinatte the leader of the patrols, turns out you can ask the president for twice the amount of reward money wich is one million of dollars, not only that but i think you can also remove the sniper rifle of the guy you guide and keep it too, i bought all the hummer deluxe and bought all the soldiers from the fort and ran around hunting big bandit groups with LMG's, sniper rifles and bazookas and still made a profit after loosing so much fuel for a few miles.

>>696737
You forgot the President character that is literally Silvio Berlusconi
