A new story stage was recently added with Giselle and Ray, more conventional compared to the horrors of Crabnam that the last few levels were.
>>

For me, my favorite girl is Ray. Normally girls like that you think "she fucks old men for money" or "she is dumb and slutty" because of that looks. I don't remember the name, but they have tanned skin, bleached hair, blue eyes just like her. But she is a very sweet and lovely big-sister style girl and still hot but also cute.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

I was really disappointed when I realized there was only 2 tiers of classes since I reached the max tier 2 class levels in like 4-5 missions. The mastery system is really fun though, are there any masteries that increase mastery slots later on in the game? (not the TP total limit for each section, the amount of slots in each section)

Yes

>I was really disappointed when I realized there was only 2 tiers of classes since I reached the max tier 2 class levels in like 4-5 missions
Yeah you get to T2 really fast. You should still max out T1 though, but that doesn't last much longer. There's been mention that the devs want to add a third tier of classes, but I haven't heard anything specific about that.

>are there any masteries that increase mastery slots later on in the game?
Yup. There are a bunch of masteries that give one extra slot and two extra points for a specific category. It can be a bit of a puzzle to make optimal use of them but they're super useful.

>>675119
>is there romance?
There are some mild hints of romance (like Heixing x Kylie but no actual romance at all.
>>
Just picked this up recently, fun so far (just did the Sion solo mission where all the Alleys show up, to give an idea of my progress). Any tips for things to look for/avoid in the early game? So far I've mostly noticed the usual XCOM stuff (don't overextend and pull too many enemies, cover is good for not getting crit to death, etc) and that the free attack abilities (Forestallment, Counterattack, whatever Heixing has) are really useful.
>>

some of the shittier masteries are necessary for the mastery set bonuses and its pretty impossible to figure them out on your own since some of the set themes are kinda all over the place. might be worth it to experiment with some of the shittier masteries in order to unlock more sets. of course you could always just wiki them as well

>>
>>675298
The early game isn't too punishing. Like you said, if you played XCOM you have a pretty good gist of it. But I'd advise against Counterattack. I also used it extensively in th eearly game, but that shit gives you a 30 wait time penalty, which makes it easier to get killed when surrounded by enemies. Also, experiment around with masteries as you see fit, equipping/unequipping doesn't delete them or anything and you literally never have to worry about those Training Manuals. Also, check out the food, some combinations give you stat bonuses.
>>
Is getting into taming worth it? I've been running Giselle as a sniper and she's been doing amazing in that regard.
>>
>>675521
You can tame and use beasts even if you keep Giselle in the Sniper class. Some types can become pretty strong in their own right, and you can also spec them to support the summoner more passively. Perhaps most importantly, leveling up certain types of beasts can unlock certain masteries for everyone.
>>
>>675521
Even as a sniper she can deploy her own tank to go out and distract/draw out enemies.

Man, that was brutal. I really need to invest in better gear and rethink my masteries.
>>
>>675521
Absolutely worth it. Early on just getting a single Tima for her is enough to make a big difference (try to get a young one so you can evolve it yourself, it takes more time but it's worth it), and later on Drakis and Crabmits are completely insane if you can get them.

I haven't used Giselle as a Sniper at all anymore in later levels since she can still snipe pretty well without the Sniper class, and her Hunter masteries can buff her traps and pets which makes them both super useful.

Even if you do want to use her as a Sniper and not a Hunter, she can still tame regular animals which, if you train them up, are just as good as most of the legendary animals, or better since you get to choose their personal masteries while they're evolving. You don't get the masteries to improve your pets as a Sniper, but they'll still be strong if built right.

Really not sure what to do with her.
Have her as a hacker right now with most hacker specific masteries.
Move Protocol, not costing an action/Support Protocol costing only a single action, having a 100% to hack any robot, pretty good.
Not sure what other mastery sets/masteries to give her though.

Moves like Counterattack aren't so bad so long as you can reliably kill your attackers in one hit. The number of enemies you can do that to drops off as the game goes on, though, meaning you stack up 30 AT after 30 AT without the benefit of eventually thinning out the enemies causing it. It definitely has its place in the early game, but just know you'll have to change your tactics eventually.
>>
>>676009
It's still good in the late game, but you have to specifically build for it with masteries that refund AT. Albus is especially suited for counter builds IMO since his Master Swordsman class has pretty good support for it.
>>

She's not the one yelling out her attacks like an anime character though. For some reason, Alisa is the one who does that.

Fucking annoying to be honest, especially since her attack names are dumb. I refuse to use a counter build on Alisa just because I want to minimize the number of times she starts yelling QUICK SHAVING!!!

On the fence between buying this or CoE4 and vanquish, sell me on it. I usually like tactical games, even nu-com, but sometimes the campaign map part frustrates me because I can't take it easy and do things at my pace, and they even make you lose missions because you can only pick one of many. Is there anything like that in troubleshooter?
>>
>>677138
Game is "comfy" in that sense. You can repeat any mission you want and, while some missions at the end are relatively hard, game isn't hard enough for minmaxing, just look how everybody uses different builds depending of their taste/favorite gamestyle. Also no permadeath.
>>
>>677152
I'm fine with permadeath and the game being hard, what I don't like is being punished because I wanted to play a mission instead of another one available at the same time while I had enough men to do both because lol one transport.
If this game doesn't have that it's a good thing.

Sorry for the late reply. It is the mission where you need to pacify a street. First mission where there are enemy snipers and you need to kill 9 of them, collapsed cars block the way and you have to go around and you have Jane as help. Hopefully this explains.
But it was great in a way too, very tense+this mission finally after 45 hours got me into crafting weapons and mastery sets because I noticed "man, I really need to step up my game" and now I am stronger than ever.

Oh yeah, that mission took me several tries as well. At first I tried to blitz it but then they would destroy the police npcs while my party was all stuck on one edge of the map. I also kept losing key members to the snipers because I wasn't using smoke diligently and would get pinned down by other enemies before I could safely close the gap.

>>
>>678086
>>678090
The game is really slow-paced. You can speed things up by focusing on the story missions (and even turning down the difficulty if you want to get through them faster), but the levels are quite long and some levels, especially the violent cases, have more than 100 enemies to beat so it can take an hour or more for just one mission.
>>
>>677409
Yeah, I remember that one. I did it first try, but I only barely squeaked through it. The only units I had left at the end were Heixing, Jane, and a couple of cops. Fucking snipers, man.

Got completely BTFO after 37 minutes. Outskirt Road 112 is literally impossible for me to beat, I barely even finish 1/3 before everyone is dead. The amount of enemies is insane and they 1) stunlock me to death or 2) one-hit-crit me. Fuck this violent case bros, imma skip it for now. I know I could invest in Massiveness to try and counteract the stuns, but I don't feel like reworking my entire mastery board and I really think this would really help me win this because of said other difficulties. Oh well, I still got 9 side missions and the story ones left, gonna focus on those.

>>
>>679116
Like the other anon said Veteran is the proper counter to stun, placed on your melee fighters.

Its been so long I can't remember which violent case Outskirt Road 112 is.
But when it comes to them always remember you don't need to clear the whole thing to win, if things are going bad just take out a boss and retreat.
When you defeat enemies you get information which gives you stat bonuses versus them, you also gain experience and new gear. Letting you basically 'chip away' at them over multiple engagements before eventually being able to just beat the whole thing in one go
>>
>>678998
she's tough as shit, the only real problem with her is she generally has low +hit. Prosperity + the one that drops your -at with every regen tick makes her the faster character I got as well as the free reactive heal if she gets focused. I even managed to fit mutant in her build so she has tons of buffs simultatenously.

There was nothing in the patch notes about it.
If they add stuff, there's also usually no indication on the mission board.
It's that mission where oyu have to exfill Lee the Trucker from the roof, where you first emcounter Tima.
I think it can only be finished by moving Lee into the evac zone.
Maybe some recent update broke it.

>Every single girl has 10/10 looks and 10/10 personality
How the FUCK did they do it? I play and think "DAMN, I want to marry the cute but strong big tiddy tomboy Alisa!". Like 5 minutes later I think "Hold up, Bianca is really hot too, ahhhhh, I want a tsundere rich girl to bully me (constentually)!" Then I play some more and think "I take it back, Ray singlehandedly made me an onee-san loving gyarufag, I'll marry her instead". Then I play even more and think "Irenes sense of justice and autism are too fucking cute she is perfect, plus her backstory and loneliness is kinda sad I need to protect her". Then I keep fucking playing and think "tfw no mentally unstable loli Luna daughterwife". It just NEVER stops. And literally 3 minutes ago they introduced that blonde police woman, like give an anon a break. In 27 hours that chink character designer gave me like 8 new tags I browse nhentai by. I don't even look at 3D women on the street anymore, I just look straight ahead and I don't even want anything to do with them because they are 1000% inferior to the Troubleshooter girls in looks and personality. It's frustrating because of that and also the girls are not real, but I literally can't stop thinking about them and I played a fuck ton of games with a fuck ton of girls but no female cast made me feel THAT. Thinking about buying the artbook just for the girls, imagine paying for fucking jpg data but I couldnt find it anywhere and I need to look at them more. FUCK.

I have a question about the set we collect from quest.

If I missed one part because I didn't saw the different color at first, am I fucked ?
>>

You can buy the recipes for those items for Valkyrie coins after you finish the relevant shop quests and then craft as many as you want.
>>
>>681011
I am not 100% sure, since I am somewhat new (55 hours in this game...), but with some quests you get "crafting recipes" for the set items, although I only saw them rarely. So my guess is, if you missed an item, you can get it back in the future. But others can probably say with more certainty.

Wow, the difficulty really crank up when we first meet the White crew... I'm at chapter 4 with the Irene's day off where I have to save 7 civilians, and I had my ass totally blasted, even through the game was a breath until now

Until now, I was focusing my gear on max speed and damage, but should I focus on more armor ?
>>
>>682219
The game tends to have a spike in difficulty every time a new gang is introduced into the storyline. White Tigers are the first big one, but the same happens for example when you start meeting Bicron bosses, or the clown dudes in Bianca's storyline.

And yeah you should definitely invest in some defensive masteries. Early on you can get away with just killing shit faster than it can kill you, but once you start meeting melee dudes that take more than one or two hit to go down, snipers that trigger fire support off eachother all day long, etc. you cannot survive without good defenses on your frontliners.
>>
>>682227
>The game tends to have a spike in difficulty every time a new gang is introduced into the storyline
Partly because they are stronger than previous enemies with new tactics/gimmicks you need to figure out, but also because of the 'intel' mechanic which means the more you beat foes the more information you gather on them giving you advantages in facing them in the future.

I have her as an engineer because the stronger attacks. Basically -most of- her engineer mastery sets + Awaken + Can't Wait Anymore.
that way you can enter overcharge, double ult (consecutive attack), have your turn again because Deep Sea escape, and then either double ult again or reposition.

Make sure you have consecutive attack (obviously) , nimble response attack (the set that reduces your AT whenever you use a responsive attack) and some other way of reducing your AT like Quick Grasp of the Situation or Best Condition, because she is kinda slow if she isn't proccing Deep Sea Escape or in the middle or the fray using Reactive Matrix Protocol

As for gear you mainly want Perfect Draki Scale (less crit damage, immune to exposed and flanked) and Weight (50% extra damage on responsive attacks)

>>

That mission is easy as fuck as long as you take it slow and don't aggro half the map like a retard after you get to the open area.

As long as you don't somehow forget to talk to Bianca and Alisa at the start and you take the scattered groups of enemies one by one it's practically impossible to lose.

They are meant to be weirdos but their cult actually makes sense as to why people would want to be in it and what its stated beliefs are.

Its a mass of regular people who are being crushed by criminals and feel abandoned by the system, so they are being gathered together by street preachers giving them a community and a belief to have faith in.

That belief being that if they put on the mask and all care for each other and share resources they can gain more than they put in, and the fanatical Spoonist fighters work together to offer the group protection from the gangs and other threats that preyed on them before while they were alone and powerless (like say when the White Tigers went around openly murdering citizens in a neighbourhood to spread terror and try to undercut the state-sponsored bounty hunter groups after them).

That's why they are called Spoonists, their most basic commandment/metaphor is everyone has their own bowl and spoon and if they share a spoonful of their own bowl to their brethren then their friends in turn will be able to share and return that kindness manyfold.

As the other guys said, you can do almost everything the enemies can do. I thing the only exceptions are the bicrons/destrons and a some masteries of classes that nobody have (yet), like that slaughterer and assassin. IIRC assassin only have a single mastery tho, guess they'll expand it with that Misty dudette.
>>
>>685065
It's kind of annoying that for the longest time Spoonists are just a bunch of losers and thugs, and then very late in the story you see a crowd of normal people spoonists including women and children and it gives the whole thing a very different perspective. If they showed much earlier that there are lots of normal Spoonists and they're not just another violent gang full of assholes who got rejected by the other gangs, it would feel a lot less stupid.
>>
Do you guys have any tips about how to build my Albus ? I don't know what to do with him, it's a bit of a glass cannon.

Bleeding builds seems cool, but it means I have to 2-hits ennemies, I don't see the appeal of it
>>
>>685076
As troubleshooters you only really encounter the violent arm of the Spoonists, and its only later on into their existence as a movement and gaining popularity that they have such a large amount of 'non-combatants' that they are explicitly moving them away to keep them out of reach of their foes.

Early on they are mostly made up of punks who are angry at the system, Sharky goes out of his way to recruit the survivors of the Bulls gang that recently got wiped out and are being hunted down by their many enemies.

A bleeding build works pretty well. Later on there will be a lot fewer enemies you can one-shot anyway. A Magic Knight bleed build allows for some very nice self-sustain though Life Drain and Blood Absorbing Sword.

Though for my money, the best Albus build is a Master Swordsman build that focuses on reaction attacks. Counterattack, Forestallment, Overwhelm, Punishment all give extra attacks outside of your own turn and the Swordsman class has some nice way to boost those. Add Bladestorm on top which can trigger off any attack, including reaction attacks, and he can dish out a lot of pain without really having to do much. He's not the tankiest character in the game, but he's got decent Block and Dodge out of the box and with the right equipment he doesn't need to invest too much in defensive masteries to stay on the field. Picture related has been working very well for me.
>>
>>685097
I should add that bleeding itself isn't a very good status effect, but with a bleed build you can trigger other stuff (like debuffs and self--heals) off bleeding enemies which can be really good.

It's the same with Irene and burning builds. Burning itself isn't worth much, it's about what you can trigger with it.

earlier in the game swordmaster albus is good for dealing with obnoxious autoblocking hp sponges, but desu they aren't actually threats to your team, just waste turns smashing them down. What actually kills your dudes is snipers nests and stuff like that, so I have him with gentle gust, wind walk, turning over a new leaf so I can tp right to the top of their huts and bring the pain to them. This build is a pretty good mix of esp and melee damage so he can clear them out, and has a ton of lifedrain so he has good sustain. Pure damage is covered by heixen and giselle, who between the two of them will generally do 90% of total mission damage, I just need a guy with mobility and sustain. Whats nice is Enough Rest also procs off your life drains, giving you another -20 AT, your turns come very quickly. Deathbringer procs off everything so on longer missions you get tougher, and it can get up 40 stacks near the end of a nasty arrest mission.
>>

>>
>>685295
They noticed Albus' company cracking down on the gangs and wanted to keep thing going any further and create a mutual destruction situation like with Silverlining. Except they didn't count on the scooby gang being more capable than Silverlining and thus not only continue shitting on the gangs unlike Silverlining who retired when shit got too real, but also shit on the White Tigers themselves.
>>
>>685331
It didn't help the White Tigers that they no longer had their allies in the cartel, the two Tiger gangs sat back and watched the Bulls get torn apart and then went their separate ways as rival groups.

When someone is out of action he is in critical condition, it's not like he just got knocked out, he got shot/stabbed/clubbed/*elemental effect* so hard he falls over unconscious and it is not unlikely they die.

nah, you will find something better soon enough at that stage of the game. it is only when you start reaching violent cases like Draki Nest, Magenta street, Shadow wall culvert and onwards that enemies have gear worth grinding for

I farmed him lategame for 100% entry since you can just solo him with Albus or Heixing or whatever. Early will take time and the gear doesn't worth it. Crafting will give you good stuff before the "endgame".
>>
>>685890
What ? Already done this mission twice and I never saw him, where the fuck is he hiding ?

Just beat the mission with the train and the 5 bicrons and god dammit it was tedious, I was sweating bullet each time Sion was near death

>>
>>686132
>do you have any recommandation of monster
What I'd do is go to the mission where Timas first show up and tame a super low level one so you can evolve it from scratch. He'll be weak at first so just have him hang back and passively leech XP for a bit, but that way you can make sure you get to select his personal masteries while evolving. Evolve your first Tima into an Ice Tima. You can get other animals and other types if you want, but an Ice Tima will make for a perfect tank/bodyguard and is basically all you need until you get Drakis or Crabs in the lategame.

Special armor is probably the one that nullifies any damage that is lower than a certain % of HP.
If it makes you feel any better, it costs fuel so just keep hitting him until he runs out of it

>How can it be worse
In challenge mode, it can also spawn with another mastery that reduces any incoming damage that is greater than 25% of his max HP to that value

>>687290

Drones are only powerful late game.
For this case you don't want drones, because they block a hacking slot.
You don't bitch about the Bicrons if you are the Bicrons.
>>

Here I go for a Hacker Kylie

I also tried a berserk build for Albus but I regretted it very quickly when I was unable to use him for like 4 turns and than he killed my hero
>>
>>687284
Crafting can definitely help, either crafting new gear if your current stuff is shit, or upgrading it if it's good. But before that, maybe take a look at your buillds and see if there's stuff you can optimize there.
>>
>>687297
>I also tried a berserk build for Albus

Berserk is a meme for alisa, the bonuses are not good enough to justify losing control of your character. Encourage/Enrage is better

I didn't say it's the best, but it's definitely viable. Which is more than you can say of putting berserk on any other character.

You can basically just toss her into a crowd and stay out of her way as she wrecks everyone around her while being unkillable.

>>
>>688580
Im 60 hours in and I haven't even unlocked the 5th team member
>>
>>688580
It's definitely a long game, with a slowly paced story, lots of optional missions, and levels lasting anywhere from 20 minutes to more than an hour. I'd still say it's much less autistic than Long War though, mostly because of how it's structured. Unlike XCOM, there's no overarching game to fail. You can fail a level, but then you just lose a bit of Motivation (which is trivial to refill) and try again. Levels can be played and replayed as often as you want, and the longest type of missions (violent cases) can be finished any time you kill a boss enemy, so if you just want to get a quick win you can rush the nearest boss and quit the level right there. It still counts as a victory. This gives the game a much more relaxed feel than XCOM where there's always an element of pressure. There's never anything like terror mission that you need to respond to right away, you can just take whatever mission you feel like doing at any time. That's not to say the game is super casual, because some of the missions are hard as balls especially on Hard or Cruel difficulty on Challenge Mode, but it's only as much of a challenge as you feel like taking on.
>>
>>688580
its more "grindy" and "soap operay" than autism. You can do a lot more build autism than xcom tho, but what sucks up the time is learning the backstory of the 100 different mooks you just dumpstered.

Yup, though technically the content they're adding at the moment is part of the first DLC, not the base game. They just decided to give away the DLC for free so everyone has it.

>Do they have a roadmap?
Internally probably, but there's no much we know about it. We know that there's a new DLC in the works (this time it won't be free) and that it'll introduce a new recruitable character named Misty (picture related), but we don't really know anything else about it.

I've just gotten Anen and holy shit between her baseline and equipment her stats suck. I mean, okay she's a healer, and a small child, but damn. What should I focus on to start with?
>>

I made her pretty tanky at first, then full healbot/aurawhore with OP AT reductions once I got all masteries. Just give her speed at some defenses until you get the good shit and she'll be a immortal healbot. Also craft some gear for her.

Anne is rather weak at first admittedly, but 1) so is every character after the original trio because the lag behind on their class level and 2) she becomes extremely strong later on with her Black Witch build.

I wish the story wasn't 90% flashbacks. I was enjoying Albus building up his company at the start.

It kinda switches back and forth. The flashbacks give context to the story arcs, but the arcs themselves are all set in the present.

One Shot One Kill is genuinely a game changer, holy shit.

Last few side missions I did were a complete breeze, although admittedly, they were probably not the hardest to begin with. But maybe I will increase the difficulty from Hard to the one above, where every enemy is an elite enemy.
>inb4 I get my shit wrecked hard in the next violent case mission I attempt

So I just have finished the story. Don't see myself pointlessly farming beasts at the moment honestly.

It was a great game, and if you're able to finish the mission with the destruction of the White Tigers, well done, it was for me the worst mission of the game when I done it. After that, all is alright

Women just can't resist a big black negoori.

If you mean the lvl 15 version, try scraping together the physical resistance 3 masteries for Albus and Irene, and don't try to be clever with builds. Just extend hit/crit/dodge/block for now.

If you mean the other one...yeah.
