for your first settlement, you should aim for 1 source of rock, a decent sized patch of trees, then possibly some fruit or nut trees for quick money. having decent land around your first hamlet is nice since you can later settle those areas and connect your borders. even further down the line, you can upgrade a hamlet to a village then a town, or a hamlet to a lordship and vassalize the surrounding hamlets. be careful to stay within the area noted in pic related

I think it does the highest quality because most people probably just push the buy button and then use the the quality slider and quantity. But that type of buy always brings up the highest quality of good when you do it that way.

Strength usually comes from individual players and individual domains. The largest single domain we have is lordship of wojakia at 5.5k, and behind that the towns of shitterton and new sneeds at 3.3k each. For comparison Viken, the capital of nordboar, has 16k people, and amber has several 10k+ domains.

I made carpenters/roofers/bricklayers teams with a ratio of one of each. Now theres the problem that when spamming streets and houses the bricklayers are kind of useless because they seem to fuck with the construction quality. maybe I should just retrain them and leave one or two for building forges or something that actually require lots of masonry.

The way I do it is that I pay them a little bit more than I tax them. They get money, buy shit, the next day you'll tax what they have left, and pay them again. Most of the money will come back to your pocket regardless, its just a question of how fast it'll circulate.

Sorry I'm not in Ingerland so I don't know the land. Our Ingerland bros should help out newfriends and scout out locations for potential settlement.

But generally you want some stuff with a mix of rural industries to start with. Mix of plain and meadows, some rock nearby(granite always sells). Plains can be made into farms and orchards later. Meadows are good to harvest hay, and if you have the right type of trees on meadows(check the help page for hives, they need specific tree types).

Roads simply conect your buildings to your market square and your domains if they share a border (you can't build roads outside your domains), while streets are meant as "settlement streets with a few houses", you first lay down streets, than you ugrade them to "house" "two houses" "tree houses" and so on, but the gain will be less and less the more you will go up. Until you will become a town you should only lay down streets since they are cheap and need no stone/bricks. Next, when you will have no more space to build streets in (you can build them only in the circular radius that has the market as the center, it will became bigger as your population grows), you upgrade gradually to "house" level the streets.

I've seen 50 arpents being thrown around. Your border can extend 40 in any direction, so technically 80 is the "optimal" number, but it will forever before your borders touch. You also don't need that much space. 40-50 is probably best, then your borders can touch relatively quickly and you can get to use internal trade

Take the distance to the east and north from the coordinates and use Pythagoras.
As I said, this will make it hard to connect you settlements early on. Just check the surrounding area, if theres not high quality shit, just settle close by and take the best you can get.

I started in Samotras and relocated some days ago in Nessos. I left my old hamlets running to make money and use my lords as porter to take gold I bought in Samotras and sell it in Nessos.
It's better to buy an horse, you will need half the time to make the same road even if you buy on of the cheapest (they are all more or less of medium quality anyway).
With your lord you can't even move wood, stone etc. it's only worth to bring silver, gold, gems and so one. People usually move gold ores, the market is saturated right now so you can buy them almost at the same price you will sell it to the xxxxjews. Do note though that you lose 10% of the value of the goods you extract from your storage because the admin is an asshole. If you don't know how to do it: go to the storage, select the red "liquidate" button on the right of the good you need, and then select "drop on the market" or something like this, you will then need to drag the item in the market square tile on the character you want to give the item, then you send him to your new hamlet and hold click on your lord portrait until a there will be a pop up from were you'll have to select "drop on the floor".

If you mean alone, then probably not. There are blobs in this world which would probably notice you and try to make you their vassal. The majority of us have been playing less than 2 months but we're now a duchy.

It's possible if you're someone's vassal and they really like you, but don't count on it. They require a king/tsar/emperor to appoint you then a pope to assent as well and there are very few of these characters around.

If you look at the hay page, it says that 10x harvesting is needed. If you look at the page of hay field, you can see that it gives no bonus to harvesting, so its quality is irrelevant. Meanwhile, meadows do give harvesting bonus, so finding good quality meadows is important.

While I'm at it I can ask you, does the fruit quality influence the quality of the trees? I harvested 300 Kg of poor quality (15%) grapes in my other hamlet. at the beginning most units should be builders. lots of carpenters and roofers, and few bricklayers for buildings that need stone, but bricklayers arent good for streets or houses because they usually decrease quality so you should use a roofer and carpenter combo for housing buildings.
its wise to collect lots of gold with starting hamlet and just move it to your new settlements with the lord. you could make more quarries or production stuff instead of building more housing, could even retrain all units into production to maximize profits

Plains are 80% Quality, though that does not matter as much as its mostly about the ploughman.
If you have fruit trees around you always use those, single orchard costs between 1-2k denar of shit quality fruit at the moment, apart from cheap plums.
Quality of the tree depends mostly on the ploughing, so if you got 73% you can expect a pretty good quality tree regardless.
Even if you would buy grapes, I don't think you'll get more than 30% at the moment and the improvement from 15% grapes to 30% would only bee in the single digits regarding tree quality while killing yourself financially.
Of course you want everything of the best quality, but good ploughing and your own fruit is all you ever need.
Haven't experimented with water, as there is no good quality around, but I don't think so. Even if it does, it would be little to nothing.
You'll improve over time - 15% turns to 50% turns to 80%.
Also keep open space between some of your orchards, they drop fruit and multiply on their own over time (if you want to save money).

So it turns out there is a minor benefit to becoming a viscount or vidame, the distance penalty on your vassal tax increases 5% every 300 arpents compared to a 5% increase every 200 arpents for lordships and baronies. This means a viscount will get a little more tax money from distant vassals than a lord would. Barons still don't have any gameplay benefits other than a different crown.

How long can a hamlet sit at 0 health and in an insurrection. I vassalized a guy near me and he just completely abandoned the hamlet now. Its been a week its sat at 0 with no workers.

as far as i'm aware, you can see the resources without any special requirement. just look at the tiles, some of them will have specific textures. i'm still not good at differentiation, so i can't really help you with what to look for. just click around and get familiar with what you're looking at

also, surveyor does not equal prospector. a surveyor is used for architecture, while a prospector (not in the game) is used to search for resources
