This was a lot harder to figure out than the usual shitty units thread. My nominee is the Nightbringer from Dawn of War if you look at it from a multiplayer perspective, despite the fact that it is literally an invincible unit since everyone will just run away and he can't catch them. He also kills masses of units quite slowly so he's only good against the brain dead AI which will let him wipe their relic unit in a 1v1. In Soulstorm there is no reason to ever use him instead of the Deciever because the latter gives you so many options.
Bloodthirster suffers from similar issues, but at least he can fly around on the map and rape buildings in seconds. The big Tau chicken is also pretty bad since he's melee and can't fly but has obscene hp and damage to compensate.

You're never forced to buy the upgrades, though you're probably going to unlock all of them. If you do buy it then you can never undo it. The best thing to do with Eliphas is to just ignore the last upgrade. IIRC there's a similar thing with Gorgutz where one of his wargear causes him to do friendly fire melee splash damage which hurts more than it helps.

I don't pick up the upgrade until the attack upon the final enemy stronghold. Like, I /want/ him to ascend but I also don't like it in battle even if only because the Daemon Prince form can't detect stealth. Feels pretty thematic to end it with ascension. It's one of many strategies, it's just the one that noobs tend to gravitate towards because it's fairly easy to do. Just throw down some defenses in a chokepoint and play simcity.
Starcraft allows turtling and you see it even at the highest level of play. It's just that playing passively will not work forever.

They're already fixed for Kingdoms. Now they just suck because their stats are low. I mean, regular dismounted knights have 13 attack, 21 defense. Dismounted Gothic knights have 14 attack, 14 defense. So yeah, no good. Giving them armor piercing attacks would help, heck, the mounted Gothic knights have armor piecing with their maces and still have 13 attack.

It was Maru VS Reynor, zerg kept running ling bane lurker with Vipers for blinding cloud into Maru's planetary - tank fortification, it was surreal how good Maru played that. I use it as frontline artillery. Park twelve of those in the right place, give them aerial/anti-air support to keep those nuke bombers away from them (unless your enemy launches a nuke at them) and crank out Percivals and Titans. Especially Percivals due to their long-ranged plasma cannons.

I was wrong, it's third best attack because Cyclops King exists. But it's a ranged creature without no melee penalty so I tend to forget about them in those comparisons. So 15-16 attack is pretty much the baseline for most L6U.
