Let's fucking go, I was so sad it was no longer updated since it moved to ck3, I find ck3 barren atm, and more importantly it's mechanics are ill-fitting for the era.

This mod was great the last time I remembered it. Lots of cool goals and decisions plus the system they had where you could advance civilization by making advancements in writing, palace complexes, etc. Booted it up and though it's a little bugged, seems like they added a few things (I don't think the drought event was there before). Any recommendations for a campaign anons? Anywhere from Assyria to one of the Dorian states, or even Troy.

You must be thinking of release Imperator, in which case I'd agree with you, but since then Johan has been patched out. Right now Imperator is absolutely the best platform for a bronze age mod. Pops, civilization building, great wonders (pyramids, ziggurats, etc.), all make way more sense than some retarded feudal dynasty simulator.
