It depends. You should aim to get orchads of the best quality, so a good plougher and good soil can help. Then it depends on the skills of the fruitpicker (or how it was called) that actually put the trees in the plot. Biome compatibility may also play a part btw, so if you tru to plant lemons in the nort quality will be low (and theh will die in winter). Do check the wiki page, usually there will be something like "tundra +50% river -50%" that can help.

The old market was better since it had actual supply and demand and not this mystical nu-market infinite supply and demand bullshit, however the nu-market is way more casual friendly and less penalising for people on small or less populated continents and therefore better for casual player retention. Too bad we can't combine both systems where you have a regional market system (and not a continent wide one like the old market) and a buy/sell order book. That way both intracontinental and intercontinental trade routes would be profitable.

I don't think so, the new starting conditions does make it slower to progress, but I believe I can optimise it to a point where within a day or two I can start recruiting peasant soldiers.
Regardless of how much slower it is, I'm fine with making around 5 accounts a day and saving them for a large raid against new players, none of the noobs that I attacked made it past the village stage the last time I did this.

If peasant soldier spam doesn't work, I'll simply use the tokens from the tutorials to deforest as many areas as I can while exploring the fog.
