There is also the great game mechanic of water as many maps only have a limited space to build for people. Since it is also an older game walkers are also used for hiring so you really need to know how to properly place buildings and maybe even build slums.Zeus I find is a bit more refined and easier to learn. employment is universal and you rarely need to worry about land and vegitation. The focus is more on the missions and story since they decided to also make gods and events "real" so monsters can walk around and your relation with the god is much more important. If you are new I would suggest Zeus first but I and most people find Pharaoh more fun.
