That game is older than you, OP.
>>

No thank you

yeah man i watched that video too

I miss times of "one-off RTS".
Last one I remember was Dancing Stalin vs Martians

>The Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) called Hooligans: Storm Over Europe 'unacceptable' and wanted to stop the release of the game in The Netherlands. Despite the efforts of the KNVB to ban the game, distributor Artware still distributed the game in The Netherlands, however the game got an 18+ rating.
>The English Football Association also wanted a ban on the game, but that also didn't happen. In England the game also got an 18+ rating by the British Board of Film Classification.
>Fans of the Scottish team were angry because the Tartan ARMY (the nickname of the Scottish fans) was portrayed as aggressive hooligans in the game.
>A French tabloid called Jason Garber a 'fascist' for making and promoting the game.
Fuck me this is amazing. People today bitch about muh cancer culture killing vidya gaymes but the average contemporary Twitter mouthbreather has nothing on these sportsbros from 20 years ago or even the Christian mom crowd before them for that matter.

Twitterati Trannies are exactly the same rats as Pearl Clutchers of 90's

god you're fucking stupid

Twitter gave every single one of these retards a voice. It's gotten much worse. This game simply wouldn't have released today.

Taking away people's entertainment will only make them more hostile towards your cause. Go to /v/ and you'll quickly see that many people hate feminists and trannies there because they push for censorship and political propaganda in games.
>>
>>1252030
I actually played it as a kid and got absolutely fucking filtered by the first level because I kept running into the police and was mad I couldn't win because I thought hooligans fighting with police was the main point of the game.

>This game simply wouldn't have released today.
At worst it would've gotten some buzz which positive or negative would've lead to more people giving it attention, buying it and playing, Twitter could literally never accomplish something like forcing a game to change it's rating much less cancel it. Cancel culture is a meme, it's just drama fuel that people on this site and on Twitter are addicted to.

I came to 4chin as a kid since I was looking for an edgy stuff to share with my friends and heard of it's reputation. So I started browsing nigger hate threads on /b/ (but I was not racist back then) and there was a lot of gore in there, which at first was scary to me, but then I began to find it funny and amusing. This had to desensitize me a bit.

So for an example when Saint Floyd was violently murdered with a knee recently I didn't feel anything. And if other people were not shielded from gore and violence at younger ages they would too grow up like me. So if violent games have a similar effect then those "pearl clutchers" were wrong. Violent games would raise allies for them and not enemies. It should be in their interest to promote things like this and not oppose them.

Lol I remember this game distinctly because it was in one of the first PC Gamer magazines I bought. It got one of the 10 lowest ranking reviews I think ever and the reviewer whined about it promoting hooliganism

Most reviews in my country had not much issue over promoting hooliganism.... but all squarely pointed out that the game is simply not good.

You couldn't really stop it from releasing today, just sell it on your own website like Starsector does. In the days of brick and mortar stores being king, a lot easier to prevent release.
>>
>>1252030
I enjoy tehsnakerer too. Regardless, the only way you can make an argument that it promotes hooliganism is through accepting the fact that football fans are violence-prone thugs
>>
>>1269038
People were just butthurt they got called out. Football hooligans used to be a much more of an issue back then. The game was topical and I don't think depicting them as violent slobs is "promoting" it.
>>
>>1269044
>Football hooligans used to be a much more of an issue back then.
I mean, it's still a problem, especially now that there's more teams than ever in FIFA. It's just that the big clubs that were infamous for causing fights, don't do it as much anymore and now it's the smaller ones that do.

I meant firms, not clubs.

I have no doubt it's still happening, but it's not something you hear on TV as much nowadays.

I prefer to say it's the new way of saying "atmospheric"
>>
>>1252066
Me too. It was good, but not as his Birgand or Saul Mayers vids.
>>
I'd play this if it weren't for the nightmare snakerer went through to get this game simply running on a modern pc, and I don't have the patience for that much file editing since he only got it running thanks to someone else fucking with it first.
>>
>>1269512
I actually played it back when it was a thing and it's not worth it. The eceleb is right. The game was unreasonably difficult on top of having bad controls and broken AI even for a shovelware game of the time
Football hooligan RTS is a fun concept and it might be interesting as a sort if historical artifact but it's not worth actually trying to play it yourself. If you watched the video you got the most entertainment value out of it already.

Games with soul have made accomplishment within restraints.
