Anyone playing it?
I'm playing it right now.I've only done the first few levels but it's pretty fun so far. The graphics outside of combat look like generic RPG Maker shit and the writing is kind of bad so far. The actual gameplay is pretty good though. It's not very original, mostly just a mix of elements taken straight from Fire Emblem and Ogre Battle, but it's all meshed togetherin a way that makes sense and gives a decent amount of customization. My only real gameplay gripe is that a lot of actions feel like they require too many clicks. Like if I want to edit a squad, I just want to click on the squad, then click on the unit I want to move. Instead I have to click on Squad Operations, then select the squad, then click on Move Units, then click on the unit I want to move. It sounds like a nitpick but it gets on my nerves. Just letting me select shit directly and having a right-click context menu for more complex actions would've been way better than having to click through three different menus for every action. Also maybe I'm blind and missing something, but as far as I can tell the game only tells you about the optional objectives of a mission AFTER you finish the mission, which is completely retarded. How am I supposed to figure out you get bonus rewards for not using a certain unit, if the game only tells me about it after the fact?
>>1089642Also the game could really use a spell checker. I've already seen the word "sergeant" spelled four different ways in the span of just a few support conversations with this dude.
I have zero musical skill tho.
>>1089648have they used serjeant? that one's my favorite
>>1089676Not yet, but so far I've seen sergeant, seargant, sargent and sergreant.
>>1089642>Also maybe I'm blind and missing something, but as far as I can tell the game only tells you about the optional objectives of a mission AFTER you finish the mission, which is completely retarded.Actually, I take this back. You can see the optional objectives with the Mission Info option in the battle menu. I'd still appreciate it if they'd just show you this shit at the start of the mission though, rather than make you go into yet another menu to figure it out.
>>1089648embarrassing enough not to be able to look up spelling in this day and age, but imagine not even knowing the basic principle of never using multiple spellings because then you're guaranteed to be wrong
>protag mentions early on that the church is bullshit>turns out the church is actually the good guys and the villains are literally a satanist cultPoints for not going the super cliché route, I suppose.
>>1089730>Points for not going the super cliché route, I suppose.Oh, never mind. Immediately after this the story dives into a you are the descendant of one of the five divine heroes and you need to gather the other four to save the world from the demons spiel. So much for not being super cliché.

If nothing else, I applaud the dev's appreciation for strong girls with big tiddies.

So how much game time for an autistic run are we talking here?
>>1090229I will now play your game
>>1090677The Steam page says it's 30-40 hours. Considering it's a linear game with little to do outside of the story missions, I wouldn't expect to get more than that out of it.
>>1090694Weak. I was expecting some side content to add some fluff.
>>1090734Theres an arena that functions as side content, but you need tokens to use the arena and you rarely get tokens, so it doesn't amount to much.
>>1089642Ya big agree n too many clicks. Also there is a map where 8 cavalry spawn at the same time unannounced. I lost 2 entire squads that were safe away from the battle and there was nothing I could do about it. I'm give it a 3/5 it's ok. I'm having fun. On 12th mission
Seems weird that there's a tier 2 crossbow but not tier 3. at tier 3 you only got gunner or warbow who are polar opposites when the crossbow could fill a nice middleground with range and armor piercing
>>1089592>start game>the three factions are the EMPIRE, KINGDOM, and REPUBLICWhy do devs always pull this retarded shitJust have three kingdoms
>>1089592Certified kino game.Thank you based Japan.
The character portraits are an actual detriment and the game would be better served if you just had the unit sprite instead.
>>1089730This looks like a rpg maker game

>Meet Lysander early on >Based on conversation expect to meet them again much later in the game>Shows up and joins 3 missions later>Despite appearances is a sqaud-wide healer that puts my own healers to shame>Brought guns Can't say I was expecting that but it's a welcome surprise. Also does sybil feel weak to anyone else? Low Leadership and lack of a cost reduction leader trait means she can't even field the average 5 dudes per squad. It's better now that I found enough artifacts to up her capacity another 5 but it really didn't feel like she was pulling her weight that well before.
>>1091348It's rpg maker vx ace.
I bought it but am going to wait a few weeks for patches.
>>1091568>does sybil feel weak to anyone else? She's a very good healer, but yeah her leadership is awful which gimps her squad. As I mentioned in the /vrpg/ thread, my Sybil still has a squad size of 4 when everyone else is already up to 6.
>the gigantic paladin with abs visible through her shirt has a housewife assigned by the tenets of her religion>the other priests think this is weird
>>1091970It's explained that she's pretty much the last hardline traditionalist in the church. Paladins being bonded sisters, where the sister of Justice goes out and smites satanists while the sister of Mercy stays home and takes care of the family, is one of those traditions that have been abandoned by most other people.
>>1091214>Japan>strategy gamesCome on anon lol
>>1092045This game is clearly based on Jap games like Fire Emblem though.

>lysander comes with 81 squad capwhat the FUCK
>>1092315By the end of the game you'll have 9 units in most squads, unless you use dragons which take up 2 slots.
So if I'm reading the furry merc's passive right he automatically dodges stealth attacks from enemy assassins right? Doesn't that mean it's better to slap him in the backrow to dodge tank stealth hits for the healer instead of up front like he's set to by default?
>>1092272>>1092304Nah there's no futa magic or group sex, her kid's father just isn't around anymore.

>all those degenerates in Steam reviews and forums demanding a sandbox mode and the option to grind for XPWe don't deserve good games
>>1092424Something like a postgame mode of NG+ where you can just fuck around would be nice, but for the normal campaign I like that you can't grind and there's a limit to the amount of XP you can get per level.
>>1092325>her kid's father just isn't around anymore.Equally retarded, they just needed an excuse for lesbos
>>1090734There are the arenas and 5 extra "gaiden" chapters, plus the ending will be different depending on which characters you pair during the game and there's also different rare units you can grab during the campaign

>>1095452It has alot of heart.
>>1095452+ basically Fire Emblem except you control squads instead of individual characters+ gameplay is fairly simple but good+ pretty good map design+ reasonably challenging on the highest difficulty, especially if you want to get all the bonus objectives+ battle sprites are cool+ some of the waifus are hot- writing ranges from mediocre and predictable, to just bad- music and sound design are really generic- graphics outside of battle are standard RPGMaker shit and some of the portraits are ugly, especially the male characters- very linear, little to no content outside of the story missions (might not be an issue if you don't care about stuff like that)
>>1093069MILF
>>1091812>>1091568I played a little further and Sybil gets a free upgrade to Paladin eventually alongside a massive Leadership buff, so there's that.
Firearms are OP as fuck
>>1089592I rather like it.I think I'm very bad at it. I also dislike that right clicking occasionally crashes the game.Obvious signs that the game hasn't been fully tested: some maps don't work the way they should. But very good.
>Battle is going well>Diana starts telling Stefan he can just leg it if things go wrongOkay fine, nice cute line between those two>Barnabas tells Sybil that he's got a bad feeling, so she should stay closeWe're going to die.
The demoralisation will continue until freedom improves.
>>1098861With how tightly packed it is up front it looks like you just stole a bunch of horses and called it surrendering.
>>1098802that mission is bullshit and unless you're on easy with pre-knowledge of it I don't know HOW you can win it for the achievement.
almost rare is it to see such a generic appearing title
+Gameplay is simple but fun+Squad customization is enjoyable+/- Story and dialogue are uninteresting+But it can all be skipped+Graphics for the sprites are great-Graphics for the battle maps are terrible-Art for characters is bad, they don't mesh together and all look terrible-Music is nonexistent, its just not good-Game is slow to play, frustratingly so.-No enemy AI, they don't try for any tactics, there's no difficulty outside of "big number" enemy groups-Enemy turns take a LONG time-Story is downright generic and just awful-"Normal" mode is FAR too easy, "Hard" mode has permadeathBut I'm still enjoying it. Gameplay is the most important part for me. A few other minute complaints would be that I have how you have 12 squads of special heroes, so why even bother making generic squads? I can beat every mission so far (on chapter 25) with Abigayle, Paladin and Main character with ease.
>>1098877>"Hard" mode has permadeathThe weirdest part about this is that it only effects generics. Sybil or Jules can drop dead and it doesn't actually matter because they'll be good to go next chapter.
>>1098871Main thing I dislike is where the chests are.Even with a 'push on one side, hold on the other' strategy, I couldn't get to the chests before the worm turned
>>1098882Story doesn't work with permadeath for major characters.Personally, I think if you wanted to do 'squad leaders can die' it'd be better to make the general of the army the important character and then every field officer is just some Lt/Captain so their deaths are important but not life changing.
>>1098882Really? So does it affect like individual units too? If my Zweihander dies in my party is he gone for good?I may have just done the permadeath mode if I had more information.>>1098886I just rushed my cavalry guy over and let him die. Barnabas or whatever.
>>1098889That is the good decision. I learned that trick (use Barnabas as fast cap/barrier troop) after that mission.I still dislike the chest spawn as a first time player, though.
>>1098889>Really? So does it affect like individual units too? If my Zweihander dies in my party is he gone for good? No, if any of your generics are dead at the end of the chapter they're gone, but you have the chance to resurrect them with a Temple or MC before the chapter is over to save them. Named characters just get to die for free without consequence.
>>1098871To be fair you're literally supposed to lose, it's very much a shiroyama type situation. The song, not the actual historical event.
>>1098893It's very much a 'fuck where did he get all that pyrocite from' situation.
>>1098892Wow. Then why the fuck didn't I play that mode? I thought I'd literally dead end the game if I fucked up. That's irritating. The normal mode is WAY too easy and I just stomp every fucking mission. Thanks for the heads up, man.>>1098893Yeah, but that doesn't change the fact that its complete bullshit for that achievement. I guess if I stacked every upgrade on Diana, maybe found that -25% firearms damage shield earlier on and got some cannons of my own I could have done it, but I killed about 1/2 the army and got swarmed by the rest. Got kinda mad.
>>1098895Even with Firearms damage resist, you'd still run into a situation where Diana just gets hit by like six guys.I'm not saying it can't be won, because if it was unwinnable that achievement would not exist. It's just, one item that won't save Diana from the other five cannons in an assault wave won't count for much.Unrelated:How do you get the 4 cost techs at the top of the tech tree?
>>1098899You need the entire tech tree below it.So for the far left 4-cost, you need the far left tree. For the second from the left 4 cost, you need both the left AND the middle tree. For the middle 4-cost tech, you need the middle tree, e.t.c
>>1098901Okay, that's what I thought but it wasn't confirmed anywhere.Fuck this game needed a quick QA and UX pass.
>>1098903it REALLY does. It needs a lot of polishing and touching up, and please someone replace the terrible deviantart-tier character...well, art.
>>1098903I'm pretty sure that it tells you that you need to full tree for the top techs when you first unlock the tech tree, but i may be wrong.
>>1098904The art, you know what, I can respect. At least, for better or worse, it's competent. The artist knows what humans look like, and didn't do the 'Wargroove Head Cold' thing that makes an otherwise acceptable art style look retarded.Deviantart tier this may be, but it's deviantart that I'd pay a few sheqels to commission.>>1098906Does it?Okay, I'll accept that, but in case I'm misremembering: Don't the higher techs tell you that you need seven from the lower tier to get early on?Like if you hover over a tech you can't get, it says, "unlock seven from the lower tree"Am I retarded? Did I make this up? Did the game gaslight me somehow?
My man doesn't deserve this.
>>1098906>>1098908I think it's full tree for the middle tech and two full trees for the tech that's on the borderline>>1098903>>1098904The art is a huge problem for me as well. Despite the ESL tier actual script, I think the plot and writing are actually pretty serviceable, even when it pulls dumb shit like Jules being the Sayuunari king this entire time, motherfucker doesn't even have a unique sprite. At least get us headswaps for the unique characters. The UI is serviceable if you've played a billion awful RPGM games, but to anyone who hasn't it would be a pain. One thing I do appreciate is that I can use mouse4 and mouse5 to swap between units who haven't acted yet. Whoever it was on the dev team who implemented that, I want to buy him a drink.

I'm just skipping all of that, its miserable to read.I'm also not doing any relationships, I want everyone to be a ronery incel. I wonder if that'll change anything.
>>1098911It's fine, he can be Diana's lunch instead.
>Beacon draws 20% healing whenever someone else in the squad gets healed>Lysander heals the entire squad at once>Give Beacon to Lysander's frontliners>Now they get healed 9 times every time Lysander heals>They literally cannot die and the five Gunners sitting behind them tear everything in their way to shreds
>>1098973Given that we got shot to shit by a guy with a bunch of guns and cannons, this feels justified.

>>1099251yeah i gave her that too along with the orb that makes you lose HP but gives you drain. couldn't give her the healing flake to negate it because i gave her the speed boots afterwards as she was my only flying unit (though eventually i had exactly 5 boots for my 5 squads so everyone got them since everyone asked)

>pre-mission fluff:>The enemy is out of troops, all they have left is young people who shouldn't be fighting or old people who should be retired as well>50% of the enemy squads are composed of incredibly weak tier 3 units leading incredibly weak tier 1 units (with the rest being powerful satanists)This thing, this ludonarrative harmony. >>1098985>Given that we got shot to shit by a guy with a bunch of guns and cannons, this feels justified. If it's any consolation, the fact that you can switch back and forth between promotions for free due the way the materials system works, just having enough maxed archers means you can kill Satan with a copious application of modern firepower.
>>1089592does this game use rock-paper-scissor type strategy like Fire Emblem or Banner of the Maid? I was never a fan of that, FFT style of classes were much better.
>>1099712no hard counters. it's stuff like spears getting a damage bonus to cavalry and immune to cav charges, guns and crossbows getting armor pen, light infantry getting big bonuses when attacking or in rough terrain
>>1099712The fact that each individual unit is a squad means you can shore up a unit's weaknesses with the formation or unit mix, or go all in on one type. It's mostly soft counters, although some counters are softer than others and in many cases an outcome can depend on who's on defense. There are also movement and terrain based mechanics, like cavalry charges or light infantry ambushes or archers on a wall. In general you don't want to let a unit attack you from a position of strength or you're going to lose squadmembers for little gain.
>>1099737>>1099758sounds really interesting, I will check it out
>>1099712Some unit types absolutely do their best in certain circumstances.Units that can Ambush do best attacking first from rough terrain against enemies they can finish off.Backstabbers do best striking first against enemies with valuable rear lines so they can (nothing personnel) the enemy.Cavalry wants to move long distances to get charge bonuses, but also shouldn't forget hit and run as a way to get away from enemies they don't want to take an enemy phase against.Cannons want to be attacking because they don't attack on defense.A unit full of firearms can absolutely fuck up almost anything in the game, but if it doesn't go first it's not going to weather the storm.Certain OP unit leaders absolutely can take a beating and keep on eating, especially the really tall one in her default unit spread: she'll fuck people up if she attacks first but very few enemies will threaten her on enemy phase unless you overextended or they're very powerful.

>>1102216Buyfag here, that anon gave me the patch before you did to me, an epic store customer. So he is based. I expect you to cease your faggotry at once and to see the patch on my legitimate copy soon.
>>1102216>stealing moneyI strongly recommend you rethink how piracy of digital assets works, over half of them will never buy your game. The percentage that will only did so because they eventually came around on their own terms to giving you money to support you, this is an entirely different transaction from pirating the game. If you continue to think like every pirated copy is a lost sale you will simply burn yourself out in a fruitless battle. You also have worse quality service in regards to patching your game, that is a bad thing.
>>1102216Third worlder here, I wouldn't buy your game with my tight budget if I don't get some taste of it first and like it, especially not with that artstyle and RPGmaker look on the cutscenes. Focus on the game itself first man.

Bitch babies got the upload removed. Anyone else have a mirror?
>>1103483Shouldn't take long considering anyone can just zip up their game directory from Steam and upload it. Hell, I can do it for you later if nobody else does. If that was actually the dev in this thread then he's a huge faggot and I don't mind uploading his game for free in every thread I see about it.
>>1103439Pretty sure that wasn't actually the Dev anonPeople lie on the internet
>>1102598Lmao man maybe if you're a literal nigger you should fuck off
the game could really use an option to crank up the clock speed on AI turns, missions drag a lot and the game gets really boring just because waiting for your turn takes so long, the turn transitions are also kinda slow
>>1102216whats that 2000 logic of pirating something digital equating stealing money, if someone isnt too sold in your game its not gonna buy it even if he cant pirate it, if someone likes your game and can afford it its gonna buy it even if he pirated it first to try it out, if someone cant afford games its not gona buy your game even if he cant pirate it.aside from the fact that makes no diference in revenue, piracy makes games more known, because more people are playing your game, basically free advertisment, not taking into account the fact that wanting to stop a game from getting pirated is like tryng to stop the ocean with your hands.blows my mind that something unstopable unharmfull and even beneficial to a product is still being seethed at.not one game has ever failed because of piracy, when a game is good, people like it and people buy it and it makes profit regardless of how many pirate itbought your game btw
>>1103699Tilde speeds up the game
>>1099286>i could never made them work and eventually dropped them even from lysander.guns are great, especially once you get that tech that allows them to fire twice. The strongest squad I have is a mix of gunners and centurions, so basically pike and shot. The gunners move first and wipe out the front row, then the centurions hit both the second and third rows at the same time. The only enemies that ever last more than 1 attack are ones that have those big shield guys up front, and even with their bonus defence against guns they still die in round 2.

Lysander has to be the trillest nigga on this earth. He doesn't back down, doesn't take no for an answer. Gets turned down by big titty Giantass? OK don't mind me I'll just start illegally fucking your bond sister literally the next chapter then.Demigod friendos are getting a bit big for their breeches? OK I'll set up an epic coup-d'etat right under their noses including their closest friends, family, and lovers in the planning. He's like the Damocles sword hanging over the heads of possible tyrants.Stuck in jail while world transitions towards representative democracy? OK lemme just grab my quill here and start writing the fucking constitution, bill of rights, and other basic laws from my rote memory of philosophy and statecraft concepts. Not to mention he's hands down the best leader chassis on the game: High leadership, gunpowder discount, squad heal, untargetable, etc.
>>1098861my nigga
>vantage as an item>the only requirement is not being ambushed so you can slap it on any non-mage non-cannon squadsTotally not OP
>>1105267That thing and Disarm on Beatrix is gamebreaking.Which is why they're going to nerf Disarm to be main target only.
>>1105274Sorceress / AoE disarm is pretty cheaty, I agreeBut the fundamental win button in this game is alpha damage / first strike. There's an inflection point, probably when you get that mage cast on turn 1 tech on the left tree, where your alpha damage can basically remove any threat by killing enough of them, regardless if the remainder are disarmed/chilled/dazed or not.Alternatively, there's an inflection point where your units get tanky enough to sustain anything the enemies throw at them, even to the point of spamming Force Surrender against undamaged high-morale enemies (which is what these mega capture screenshots come from)The late game paradigm seems to be lots of enemy squads, but those squads individually being smaller than the players' squads. I'm guessing the new post-Warlord difficulty will buff these squads stats and such even further, but unless the squads themselves increase to the same size of a player spamming medals or tactically giving out captures to frontline units to farm leadership, then this one-sided relationship will remain.
dlc when
tranny game
is there a point in the game when beatrix leaves your party? all my other squads are starting to get really underleveled, ever since i got her i put the attack first when defending/leader gets 2 turns/pasive heals trinkets with a sentinel in front of her and she quite literally solos everything in all the missions to the point that i only deploy other squads to pick up chests and resources.
>>1108691She joins permanently
>>1089592For an RPG Maker title I was expecting some kind of slow down but this is surprisingly optimized. Might as well have coded their own game instead if they were able to pull this off.
>>1098911>>1099058Wait, so this game has the romance mechanics of fire emblem? And you can make a self-insert characters? Why isn't this more popular?
>>1111511Seems popular enough: https://steamcharts.com/app/1488200
