The developers bring back old characters just to shit on them. They come across as pandering and insulting. Devs (and WotC) are hostile to the old games and their fans and it’s clearly a cash grab reboot to appeal to nu-DnD Critical Role fans. The maps end up being a chore to explore, the economy totally fucks the sense of adventure and desire to get loot. Everything is cheap and there’s nothing interesting to save gold for. Looting is a hassle by the last third.It does have pretty graphics and good music though. But it’s certified AAA goyslop. Most disappointing game since Cyberpunk.

If you like scifi and space exploration you like this game. It didnt have the same broad appeal as previous but it was a god send for those of us in that demographic. Bugs were minor given the scope of the game. Needs more content which will happen via dlc etc. Only real fuck up was not immediately releasing mod tools. Im not saying only brainlets hate it - Im saying it isnt skyrim. And Todd himself said if they wanted to make it, they had to do it asap. Reading between the obvious lines - he knew a sale to microsoft would end bethesda's ability to make a new game world since the obviously profitable choice would be to make a better fallout and new tes titles. So it wasnt all he would have wanted since development was rushed to ensure it was too deep into development to cancel and microsoft wouldnt let them dick around for another 3 years to finish it (although it was nice having msoft programmers around to fix all the bugs)
