You can either go Warrior for first architype and have a gun as your backup and/or second slot weapon(s) and use melee as primary or go Marksman and use a different ranged weapon type (like flamers or melta's) as your backup while having standard ballistic weapon or a bolter or laser as your primary. For the latter I would recommend Forge World and for the former either Death World, Fortress, or Imperial World should work. Void Born isn't really helpful for either of these because Willpower is only useful for Officers and Psyker and Intelligence is only useful for Operatives, and having a negative to Strength is a huge drawback especially if you want to use Power Armor as early as possible. >Would a psyker option actually benefit?For aggressive psykers doing a Vanguard or Assassin would probably be better than Arch-Militant since your stats would be less spread in order for it to be viable. Fires of the Forge though has interesting stacking with Pyromancer abilities since it gives you a higher deflection bonus to burn based on Toughness, and Pyromancers have a couple features that give you buffs while burning. This works really well for a melee Pyromancer since you can rush into a crowd of enemies, have one of your companions use a flamer on you plus the crowd, which then buffs you for a few rounds upon which the negatives are easily negated because of your high burn deflection.
