The bad news is that these new words happen between the fight with Thaumaturge and meeting Crazy Chris, so there won't be anything new in terms of "advancing the plot" for people that already played that part.

It's why we ended the "official" part of the demo earlier and put the warning there for people that wanted to keep playing. And the only other big event that's setup now is the eventual war between Camelot and Avalon which might be what you're looking for but that's basically final act shit with what we know of the story as is and thus years away.

I thought that maybe it was autust-to-autist connection since you need to have high Warrior in order to even romance Hawkins. But honestly, I agree. I like his romance, but I always had a weakness for blond autists with disregard for human life.

I guess it was supposed to be a Char-Quattro-Casval type of transformation, but it was far too short to feel any proper change and author constantly implied that the only person Hawkins cares about in CODEC and Empire both is (You), the commander. Thus, it's much easier to see this as "I love everything about you, you are the only man that had ever understood me, let's fuck because I haven't met any other autist like me before", not as a Char arc. It's implied he's quite lonely even if he manages to pull a lot of important connections right out of his arse in Damocles ending. It is quite easy to see his romance switch as "shit, I'm about to kill the other autist that's just like me, I can't kill him, we understand each other so well, abort, abort, abort" since it's only available there. But it really doesn't feel like it got enough development either...

Finally playing the Unsupervised here, and can i just say that i really like the superman like mentor? He's just a really, really good guy. Luv it. Nowadays heroes are either "morally grey" or just meme-spouting funnymen, but this guy is just a true boy scout.

I honestly don't really think Cazarosta has any actual interests beyond doing what the Saints want him to do. Even him choosing to join the Army was because he was good at soldiering stuff, so obviously it means the Saints want him to become one.

I think it was more like his father putting him into probably the only place where he could get his life together. Since Ca-chan seems to enjoy drilling his soldiers and killing partisans, I feel he does enjoy the army life somewhat, he is just autistic, has a very fatalistic outlook and prefers to ignore his mistakes and opposing opinions unless (You) with good relationship values tell him to pay more attention to them.

He seemed fairly stubborn "my way or the highway" kind of guy, but in Sabres and Guns he wasn't too OP, just a bit snowflakey and very spiteful. He fucks up if he leads the attack at the ship and gets chewed up for it. His plan in Sabres showed that he can reach retard levels in his methods of dealing with Antari, and it takes (You) to devise a plan that actually works and incorporates good parts of his ideas.

To be honest, I really liked that dynamic despite the fact our interactions with Elson and Ca-chan were very limited and incredibly short. I liked working between them in order to actually secure useful advantages, I liked their dynamic with both (You) and each other if they've started to treat each other better. Once Elson dies at Blogia I felt his character got worse since he didn't have as many chances to royally fuck up and writing didn't seem to make his choices bite him in the ass. He also didn't have anyone to play off of since (You) can be his carbon copy in almost anything and idealistic MCs don't get a lot of content with him.

There are some neat touches with Katarina telling you how he was once a massive crybaby and still keeps confessing her every lie he told someone + him going on a rant about why him picking up smoking is the Will of the Saints™ as a joke, but both of those moments are rather out of the way and in general he doesn't get much screen time.

Aiya, that's another reason for me to postpone playing Lords. Weirdly enough, it feels the series just keeps getting worse from book to book in terms of characters interaction and reaction: Sabres at least had somewhat memorable splats of supporting cast, Elson / MC / Cazarosta dynamic that helped to ground MC in the world and secure him to at least something, Guns has fairly pleasant cast, but it seems they don't really interact and play off each other, they more so serve for MC to work their values off of, and from what I've played and seen for Lords, aside from some very pleasant moments (Betrothed, Marcus, Cassius), it seems the cast is even more disjointed and barely connected.

I guess it's to be expected when it keeps growing, but it just feels there's nothing to latch onto except your ideals and political arguments on forum about your preferred side. It feels so boring when there's nothing to latch onto character-wise outside of the civil war conflict.

Honestly after replaying Sabres recently I've come to conclusion that it was a weakness even then. Hunter is barely there, Lefebvre is barely there, Cunaris is barely there and for how you're supposed to form the main trio with Elson and Cazarosta when you think about it you don't really get all that much interaction with them either.
As far as character writing itself I'd say Lords is actually a rather big improvement. The big characters like Lefebvre, Carol Cassius, Renard or Cunaris get some more dimensions to themselves, there are some new fun side characters like Meran or Ardant and the central cast of Wulframites is well-written. The main weakness is that the sheer scope, yes, makes them feel barely connected as a whole, which is the most apparent on the Royalist route where you don't really get to interact much with the rest of the faction or even Miguel himself and on the Estate route where you're suddenly thrust back into the main plot and required to pick a side between people your character has barely spoken with (In Isobel's case you haven't ever met her before even, lmao).
Well, I guess it can be spun into some sort of genius commentary how war fosters a sense of community and that's part of the reason people find themselves nostalgic about such a terrible thing or something.

Two parts i really like from the super man mentor are from the same mission, the warehouse raid. First is the part where you describe the balkan death squad attack, and how he ends up getting so distraught over all the people that died to the point where he literally begs for forgiveness for the families of the victims, and thenbasically pulls a Red Son and ends the war in a few hours entirely by himself. No idea if the other mentors also do it if you pick them, but i just think it's really kino when he's the one that does it. The second part is when crazy mike talks about how annoying he was to the crime family, and specifically the part where he says that you couldn't make a drug deal without him appearing to offer life advice.

It really makes me want to heroismmax solely so i can make him feel proud when we eventually rescue him. Though honestly, we sure haven't done a lot of normal heroism for a city that is apparently steadily growing in supervillain crime, isn't it? The only actual superfights we had was against Thaumaturge and Rattlebag. No idea how much of the game is done, but unless we're like at a mere third of it i really wish there were some more simple generic hero missions.
