ITFO got pushed back a month, huh.
>>3060450>a game entirely about pain>get pushed back a month to make the customer feel painAbsolutely kino, bravo to the author

>>3060482Just before the Dukov arrival you almost perfectly summed up Benedict Arnold. Dude was doing too well but wasn't in the buddy-buddy clique so they sent him on suicide missions and got annoyed when he didn't die. Treason's still unforgivable tho, he should've just fucked off to Germany and sent everyone involved a letter saying to kill themselves.
>>3060499Eh, it is just an infiniverse version of a Sharpe greentext I found on either /k/ or /tv/
>>3060436That's been playable as a WIP for a while. It's taken a long time because there is an entirely separate FBI route and his collaborator on the project literally died. I liked the first one but there is a point where you wonder at the overambition
Gonna play Night Road, which clan is more fun to play?
>>3060450The fuck? I thought it's been complete for a long time now? Has the author explain why?
>>3060735Lasombra, you get lots of additional interactions and little details added - like not having reflections, sabbat connection, and electronics going to shit around you.
>>3060743Dunno, you can play it in full right now from you know where, why even wait at this point?
>>3060743It's because Zoopocalipse will steal all the sales and leave nothing for ITFO.
>>3060743Oopsie! So sorry, haha!
>>3060735Gypsy playthrough fits with being a pathetic courier imo
>Samuel H. Young actually got unbanned some time ago and even gets his games published again.Lmao.
>>3060927literally who?
>>3060786>gets btfo by a bunch of nerds with a mirrorThe worst clan
>>3060930A Guy responsible for some forum drama years ago.A CoG resident attention seeking edgelord with a few absolutely awful releases and a dozen dead WiPs.His apex of fame was back when he was working on another edgy project of his where you played a serial killer and apparently it was too extreme for HoG (it included straight up player-initiated rape, for one), so he got pissed and went to publish it under a sketchy freemium shovelware publisher (and still kept shilling at the CoG forum lmao). He also had a few more edgelord WiPs at the same time, except he was posting them under another account where he pretended to be a woman. All was fine, except the guy kept seething that he didn't get to publish his masterpiece at HoG, especially since it was the time when SoH Book 4 came around, so he and his friends bitched at their discord about how the woman responsible for HoG label was a stuck up bitch, needed dicking, and likely gave the SoH author a personal rimjob as a part of his contract. Of course, the conversation got leaked.Sammy's response was "I WAS FRAMED" and another of his shitcord palls tried to bribe people to act as character witnesses with access to his shitty WiP (It was Street Jam btw). Ended up getting banned, which was one of the few times CoG administration actually did something good.
>>3060952Why are discorfags so fucking retarded?
>>3060757This company is so laughably bad, lmao
>>3060952Lmao. The only thing I knew about the guy is that he picked a fight with the writer of Eternal by calling him a bitter incel, and that he got banned for being an insufferable prick. Never knew about the discord drama. Looks like there's an unwritten rule that to be a CoG author you have to be a mentally ill tranny or a schizo.
>>3060927What a shitter, I read one of his releases, and it was fucking garbage, that he thinks he can even compare to SoH, is a joke
>>3061028The forumgoers overestimate SoH edgyness and underestimate the very good character work the series has, and also the genuine care for the setting. Devon may be a professional railroader but he knows how to make the readers care, and if anything, SoH is pretty high up in what weeb plot goes.Pretty cool series overall, and no wonder it gets to be one of the top sellers
>>3060952These people seem to miss that in order to be edgy you also need to be quiet and discrete about it.
Any medieval cyoa games with stat based checks?
I like fantasy CYOAs.I like sci-fi CYOAs.I like medieval CYOAs.I like romance CYOAs.I like edgelord CYOAs.I like school CYOAs.

>>3061367Thanks for the recs sucker
>>3061327We need more school cyoas. And this time without gimmicks, pure slice of life. I think only 6th Grade Detective scratched that itch, but it was quite short.

CoGites on a suicide watch rn
>>3061726>UnityGive it to me straight, how bad is the bloat?
>>3061400Unsupervised is a WIP but you can be an anti-herohttps://dashingdon.com/play/lucaszaper/unsupervised/mygame/You were the sidekick of one of the world's greatest heroes, but now that they are gone you can be whatever the fuck you want
>>3061767They haven't released an open beta yet, so who knows?
>>3061726Based, I was already gonna ditch to Twine after advertising my WIP on CoG forums. Maybe this will be smoother
>>3061726Eh, CoG still has the power of a pre-existing fanbase
>>3061833Apparently they're also planning to offer their services as a publisher a-la CoG and are trying to poach the dissatisfied audience from them, so who knows. .Either way, easy mobile-readiness and possibly a centralized audience in the future sound pretty appealing. Looks even more retard-friendly than Choicescript, as well.
>>3061850Damn, this seems definitely more user friendly than choicescript.
>>3061850>>3061726Sounds neat, do they have a release date and is it still javascript based?
>>3061850RIP CoG
>>3061864They were promising an Open Beta this month. Nothing about a full release and don't think they mentioned which language is used, either.
>>3061888On another look, it appears the tool is using C#. Unless you want to tinker with it to add some particular features to it on your own, it's otherwise supposed to be usable for people with no coding knowledge at all, though.
>>3060952>Street JamWhat are COG's stance on plagiarized content? That was literally Def Jam Fight for NY. There's a WIP that is FFX too. Some shameless shit
>>3061850>Apparently they're also planning to offer their services as a publisher a-la CoGProofs?
>>3061919>What are COG's stance on plagiarized content?Kek.The Price of Freedom author, who was publishing the new version of it under HG, complained to them that Road to the Colosseum had several scenes very suspiciously close to hers from the old version of PoF(It was available at chooseyourstory). just asked them to publish her game before the other one so that no one will think she plagiarized that guy, they dismissed her concerns, closed her WiP thread for copyright reasons, and removed the game from the publishing queue, lmao.
>>3061958>they dismissed her concerns, closed her WiP thread for copyright reasons, and removed the game from the publishing queueFatality.
>>3061945Their site says as much.Though the dev also said>The ultimate plan for Songbird is to become a free tool for non-commercial and hobbyist use while offering a fairly priced commercial license for people wanting to turn their passion into a carrier and maybe even a publishing offer for people not confident in their ability to do it on their own.So it sounds more like a scenario if things end up working out well.
>>3061958Chooseyourstory retains the rights dor anything on their website so thats prolly why they had to take it down
>>3061964Hope they don't have that stupid inclusivity rule CoG has.
>>3061969The solution is to actively 1v150,000 CoG's fanbase
>>3061968That was the justification, yeah, but the CYS owner himself came in and said it's completely fine and he'll sign any form required to restore her rights or anything. Then J*son switched to saying they'll never publish a game with such grossly offensive content (including making up that the game had child rape), despite being completely fine with hosting and publishing it before.
>>3061983Jason doesnt read a single word from hosted games, but he has a bunch of grannies that do content review as if they were Fredric Werrham reading an issue of some hentai magazineSo they just look for the most obnoxious thing to complain about and often get things wrong, and you dont have a chance to argue with themThis only happens late during the reviewing process tho, sometimes only a couple months before the release date
Why is almost every cyoa written in second person instead of first?
>>3061989The problem is, all of this happened immediately after the author complained to them about plagiarism. Literally, they've sent her 3 different passive-aggressive emails right after the conversation. And she got into an argument with Jason where he ended up implying she's a "bad internet/forum citizen" before that. They just found an excuse to tell her to fuck off.
>>3062005Dunno but second person feels more comfortable to read imo.
>>3061989>>3062016Troon-run communities in a nutshell. Sounds exactly like Lancer's.
>>3062005Helps with immersion, feels like a narrator in a tabletop RPG session
What is this genre of game? I have never seen it before
>>3062763Interactive fiction
>>3062763cyoa
>>3062552Imo reading "I" instead of "you" is more immersive. Feels like I'm really the main character, you know?I guess there isn't much of a difference but I wish authors broke the mold a little instead of sticking to the same old formula.
>>3062772I use You for narrator telling you stuff and I for choices you make
>>3062772>>3062821Honestly, it wouldn't be that hard to make it a choice, so the player selects if they want the narrative to be in the first or second person. Just need to replace the "you"s with a variable.
>>3062005I find second person to be a better fit roleplay-wise. Like, in second person authors also have a habit of dictating how you feel and stuff, but at least the particulars can be easily filled in by you. Meanwhile, in first person, since your character is narrating their own point of view, there's not really much space left for your imagination and the character feels a lot more like an entity independent from the player.
>>3062825It's not really as easy as it sounds. Switching to a different narration view would require you to rewrite the text to accommodate for it, like, for example:>You were there.>I was there. It's a lot of busywork for a pretty pointless feature.
>>3062827That's not immersion, that's self-inserting yourself in the character. They're two different things.
>>3062832>pointles feature>when this is a genre that does the very same rewrites for non-binary charactersSure, buddy
>>3062857They're not nearly at the same level. Gender variables barely come into play when you actually look at the way the games are written. That's one of the best benefits of first/second person narration over third person.Meanwhile, with a first/second switch you would have to fiddle with every single piece of text since the narration perspective is fucking omnipresent.
>>3062855I haven't said a word about immersion, though? It's not about self-inserting. It's about there being a divide between the idea of your character you as a player have in your mind and the character the author writes. First person by nature is a lot less neutral and makes a lot more assumptions about the character you play. It fits the games where the PC has a lot of pre-written characterization (I've no idea why FH isn't written in first person desu), but when the PC is supposed to be a blank slate filled in by the player it doesn't really make sense. It's like a DM for some reason deciding to narrate for the character you're playing.
>>3062857tell me you don't understand grammar without telling me you don't know grammar
>>3062889>I've no idea why FH isn't written in first person desuMalin checked what other writers were doing and went with the most common.
I genuinely have no idea how to not pick Hawkins in each run. Others waifus barely compare.
>>3062929MC talks without the player's input = trash game
DROPPED
>>3062929>He smiles back>He.
>>3062827There's actually a certain cyoa game in the hosted section that does something pretty interesting related to that for its ending and twist
>>3062941Not that homo, but Hawkins is perfect as either gender.
>>3062936This is cultivator-anon's chance to sweep the femboy market.
>>3062941If it's Gundam or Gundam-like, gae is near-mandatory. And I like my blond uke and black-haired semes too much to make Hawkins a woman.
>Gender is such an important facet of personality for them that they won't play a gender-locked game on principle.>Have absolutely no issue with ROs morphing their gender around your sexual desires. What did CoGites mean by this?
>>3062964I hate that shit so much its unreal. It only works in the handful of games that put in the effort to make the male and female versions actually distinct characters, like FH.
>>3062964You mistake them for principled people. You're thinking that they believe something is truly important. In reality, it's that they are deeply against not getting what they want. The rest is window dressing.
>>3062964"I" MatterThe world should change to fit my wants, not the other way around
Don't give a shit about gender of my character, never did and never will. Usually a man, if I can help it, usually kuudere-type.
I have a feeling you slowpokes would be blown away by GPT-4
>>3063028Eh, it's not really all that impressive once you get familiar enough with it. I prefer my storyteller to remember the plot beyond ~ 6000 most recent words.WITHIN BONDSINTERCONNECTED
>>3063028It does have its moments.
>>3063220I use it for this usually
Lmao, porn-tier writing is all it's good for.
>>3063237Is what you consume honestly any better?
>>3063222Dunno, the way GPT-4 writes smut is kinda stale .Most satisfaction I've ever got out of using it was when I turned "le quirky Robin Hood-type thief who leads a double life" story into a villain simulator where I've given her a healthy dose of reality by using her for my purposes and then turning the people she fought for against her.
>>3063239I mean, I consume many things. Some are good, some are bad. I can tell from bits and pieces that GPT-4 writes like a typical Amazon retard, which isn't a high bar to clear and its smut is fucking awful.
>>3063249Heh
>>3063237It heavily depends on the settings. Gipito is actually very prone to retardedly purple prose unless you tardwrangle it, which is more than an average, say, HoG author is capable of. It's as pozzed as them until you brainwash it though, lmao. For actually decent writing, Claude is a better fit though. And we might get something pretty good if there's ever an actual literature-focused model unlike the one-size-fits-all we have now.
cyoas with big tiddy goth ROs?
>>3063220You jest, but I can totally see Devon writing something like this as some sort of Patreon exclusive. Seems very on his style.
>>3063300First Superlatives has gender-selectable Dusk, who is a byronic creature with mysterious secret and shadow powers. Don't know about tits, but the character is goth enough. There's also Delacroix, the crazy from Creme and... dunno, Junko?
>>3063312>SuperlativesCapeshit set in the Victorian Era? Sounds cool. Picked up.
>>3063324It is surprisingly good for a native CoG release.
>>3063300Superstition, though no idea about her tits.
>>3063300>cyoas with big tiddy goth ROs?For your dubs, I've spent the last hour making 380 goth gfs in AI and just paid some dude $40 to fix up minor flaws on the best pic.For your dub dubs, I'll let you fuck her early in a dark ritual.>t. cultivator anonPS I finally, FINALLY finished troubleshooting the bugs from the pre-trial chapter, had more freedom and thus more problems. >>3064598Don't forget>pirating it is morally right since the author isn't getting any royalties from it

>>3064608Didn't Wang say that he paid off his student dubt with the royalties in that interview?
>>3064614*debt

>>3064726I've seen so many on tumblr answering questions for a whole cast of characters without a demo in sight.
>>3063324I liked the sequel as well, but it's better played standalone rather than as a sequel

FINALLY STARTED ON MY CYOA LADS!Basically>Urban fantasy on Earth-like planet>You a play as a male Hitman/assassin>Minimal romance (so I can focus on the John-Wickness of it all)is all I can say with surety for now as I'm still in the planning stage and everything is very mutable at present.
>>3065333Based and hypepilled. What engine are you using?
>>3065343Godot Engine. After a couple months using it I'm glad I godid use it rather than godidn't
>>3065346Good, goooood. If your story does well then drop a WIP around 40k words. Mine starts way too slow because I have you start off as a shitass peasant kid in a world of super martial artists so my WIP aint dropping until ~110k, currently at 75k
>>3065355>110k words before you consider it a presentable work in progressWhat word count are you aiming for?
>>3065428500k, which is a lot but doesn't compete with the giants. I've run World of Darkness/D&D campaigns for 14 years so filling in content isn't an issue, but nee to CYOAs so I'll have much to learn on pacing and options. My biggest issue was making the setting and concept of cultivation normie-friendly. Ate up a shit ton of words so now I've had yo write a 4k word option to skip 35k words at the start for replayers. Ironically enough, Marcus died in Second Battle of Blogia in my run. So did Welles. I should replay, but I'm constantly busy with other stuff, often ironically enough grinding Mecha Ace out until I know each route and have every achievement.

It's genuinely surprising how Diabolical, a comedy about superhero villains with tongue tearing through the cheek, has let me play far more emotionless, cruel and unhuman character than Fallen Hero, despite the fact my character in Diabolical was simply a Tencent CEO, not an actual emotionless husk. Said Tencent CEO also got himself a sexy Russian spy husbando, but that's not even remotely related to the fact he comes off far more husk-ish.Man, it's such a pain to find games where you actually can play as an emptionless / selfish monster without any angst, and another example I actually find is a comedy game. FML.
>>3065559>vampire/werewolfNo, none of that. Just a skilled gunhand taking down gangmen in a fantasy city(but with cars)
>>3066252Well, yeah. The whole point to Fallen Hero is that you're playing a character who is unfixably menhera.
>>3066314Yeah, but with Emotion scar I thought I can finally start trudging towards my beloved murderous kuudere archetype. The game implied that my dude gave his emotions to Heartbreak, which would make him one, except not really, especially in second game where the amounts of pointless angst ramped up.
>>3066325Sidestep doesn't get give HB of all his emotions, only a part of them.
>>3066325>The game implied that my dude gave his emotions to Heartbreak>My feelings—emotions—can be confusing, and I don't need them to win.>Feelings. Emotions. You wish you could say that you've gotten a better handle on how to deal with them, but you haven't. This…this thing that is attacking seems to focus on that. Why else would people kill themselves? It's not impossible that this is some sort of empath, able to infect or inflate what you feel…>Yes. You can already feel not just pressure, but despair beginning to build, as the assault against your shields increases. You can never do this, you will fail, you should just give in, give up, despa—>No.>It is not a simple thing to say, but you say it anyway. Eyes closed to keep you focused, you ignore the storm of impotent rage and despair and begin to shut the gates. Let whatever this is feast on your emotions—if you cut the pathway so you won't react to them, you should be safe.>That being said, what particular emotion is being targeted? >Friendship…I never thought I would have friends.>Anger…I have so much of it.>Despair…I'm no stranger to wishing I could disappear. These are the emotions Sidestep can let Heartbreak eat. Friendship makes Sidestep lose the ability to care about people, anger backfires and makes him obsessed with revenge, same with despair, which makes him suicidal.
>>3066335Huh. I've sacrificed friendship in the end.
>>3066310Looks cool, what engine are you using?
>>3066155In the old draft Takara and Kian weren't involved in the Tierran crisis at all. So there wasn't even "muh treaty" and "muh elves".. Rendowers just used Wulfram's movement as a honeypot for the noble class they wanted to kill off and steal lands from. They even willingly let Wulfram escape after they've completely crushed the houseguards at Aetoria just so that a full-on civil war can start where Agent 007 Emile poses as a Wulframite figurehead king to gather even more sheep to slaughter. It's so fucking unhinged, I've no idea what the fuck Wang was thinking with this.

So now that we're in a bit of a release drought, I've been thinking of moving onto the twine/itchio scene. I've been looking and a lot of them are WIPs. Are there any completed twine games you recommend? So far the only game that seems worth it is Superstition.
>>3066527Same guy who did the Unsupervised cover, EJ Dela Cruz. He's great.>>3066538Which is one of the things that can happen in the game. The opposite too.>>3066540I get your point, but the artist can probably rearrange elements to fit the header. He did the same for another cover.
>>3066578I've tried to trudge through the sewage over at itch a few times, but it's really borderline impossible to find anything worthwhile there. There's just so much shit on there and there's basically no way to differentiate a finished game with a decent wordcount from yet another kid trying his hand at """gamedev""" with his 20 seconds game or another pretentious """art""" game at a first glance. Of the finished decent ones, barring Superstition, I only remember Trigaea and Arcadie, both of which aren't particularly good desu. Trigaea at least gets some points for being sci-fi and not being made by a CoGfugees, I guess.Everything else is those eternal tumblr romance WiPs, abandoned games and my personal favorite,>4k wordsMaybe there's something good buried deep in there, but I just couldn't be bothered anymore after spending several hours with nothing substantial to show for it.Of course, there's always NoirNights Vampyr, but it's such a masterpiece that it must be hidden from the unworthy.

Playing as a royalist is so boring when compared to being the ONE person single handedly saving the entire wulframite faction from complete and total destruction. The ultimate underdog story with an endless amount of top tier general's to fight compared to just one if you're a royalist.
>>3068068To be fair, if you do absolutely nothing, a Wulframite run still ends up pretty decent. The worst endgame outcome you can get as a Wulframite isn't the best outcome you can get as a Royalist. And your faction doesn't even really need your input to do well, unlike the Royalists who need you to carry them basically single-handedly. You just help tip the balance in their favour even harder.Still, the Wulframite is much more satisfying to play imo. It really makes you feel like a member of a conspiracy to bring down the Rendower tyranny, intriguing your way to the point where even their own city turns against them. On a Royalist run I didn't ever really feel like a part of something. The Wulframite Inner Circle being actually interesting characters helps, too. The Royalist are like: lizardwoman girlboss, war criminal, war criminal, war criminal and two dudes with death flags. Add to this the whole reculant collaboration with Takara, Garret, whatever Emile is up to, having to build your whole government and military almost from scratch, the general unstable nature of the faction, you being very likely to end up higher on the totem pole, the fact the route is confirmed to be a considerably more risky path in Wars, and it's shaping up to be a lot more compelling.
So, does anyone else find it strange how there is no mention of Emile in the royalist epilogue? I mean had at least expected something along the lines of "Ahhhh that dastard Wulfram has made Warburton king" but for some reason only Cunaris and Wulfram are mentioned so I guess I could ask the same about Havenport
>be me>no inspiration to write>put on John Wick>if I watch 5 minutes or more that 1K words guaranteed>word count increases by product of 1.5 as gunshots increase by 20Have I, in a manner of Stark literality, discovered the key?

>>3068423what do you mean, good sir?
>>3068433I'm sorry anon but in a world of CoGlodytes you're going to be asked about the godot engine every post.
>>3068103Feel like royalists missed out on kino from Kian being... nothing? Yea, Takarans are huffing their own own banefarts and probably think you're like a well behaved pet at best instead of equals, but it is more engaging than a faction that doesn't have any presence. I even liked Lensqshhejsjkwkkdkk or whatever his name was. I guess Isobel has to deal more with baneless?
>>3068406Eh, it's not really that weird. Wulfram didn't declare Emile king yet, just planning to. And both factions aren't exactly kept well-informed about what's happening to the other one. Like, Wulframite MC has no way to know that at bottom level Royalist strength everyone basically ignores Isobel's summons, you're always given an impression that the balance between factions is a lot more even than it might actually be. Neither is a Royalist MC actually aware that Wulfram is selling off resources to Takara and is negotiating a treaty with Sept, Isobel herself tells you it's unconfirmed and all they have is rumours. Now, what's really weird about the Royalist epilogue is how there's no fucking mention of muh treaty. Y'know, the thing that was supposed to salvage the whole faction? Zero, zilch, zip, nada, nothing. The only mention of Kian there is "uhh, they express their deep concern", whether you managed to push the treaty through is irrelevant. Leannejouwe apparently left the city before shit hit the fan, yet there's absolutely no mention him either.
>>3068453Ah, I see. Thanks then. I'll find a way to mark it.

>>3070052I did and that's why I don't trust Quinn, She's involved with it so she's untrustworthy.
>>3070052>Where are you up toJust done with the hunt and the deer, had a really wtf moment and I didn't get what happened at all.
>>3069883Camilla is the best cold character any of these games has done and it's not really close. Serafina in keeper is the only other one that bears mention.
>>3070053She's either in the same situation you are, but stronger, or she /is/ the voice. In which case, might as well accept your inevitable demon gf and be happy.
>>3070047How could you...?
>>3070058No.
>>3070049>"You should've joined the charge that killed off 99% of your regiment/tried defending the left flank with not even a squadron's strength and no gunpowder left!"Death-worshippers like you are the reason why this army is such a shitshow.
>>3070060Dad should've given me an evil fiance if he didn't want me to sell the future overlord of the world to the highest bidder.
>>3070055Heh, I had the same reaction. Keep playing, now's when it starts to get really good.
>>3070056Serafina is a moralfag so Camilla is still better.>noooooooo, you can't just kill the nymph secretaryBitch shut the fuck up I'm literally God.
>>3070061What, don't you like cookies?
>>3070066I will kill you as soon as the game gives me the option Quinn. It really wants me to kill Marcus but you're the only one pissing me off.
>>3070055Just out of curiosity, were you going to shoot the deer or did you refuse?
>>3070062I shall ride in the heavens with the saints themselves, can you say the same?Coward
>>3070068I'll save you some cookies. Everyone feels better after a cookie.
>>3070070Kill the evil deer and anger the stupid gods.
>>3070073God I hate women like you.
>>3070075Well, good luck!
>>3070075>kill the evil deerWhat did it ever do to you? Aside from standing there enjoying the grass.
>>3070083Commanding officer ordered me to kill the deer so I killed it.
>>3070085Did you actually shoot it, or did things go awry before you could? I chose to let it go, so I'm curious.
>>3070088You never shoot it since the demon stops you, but it sets a romanization variable.
Do you guys actually buy these or do you just read them for free?
>>3070096I buy them but when I finally release mine I expect you all to pirate it.
>>3070096I buy some, pirate some. Basically as with all the other games out there.
>>3070092Ah, interesting. I'm not really in the habit of reading the code for these yet.So, is she one of the Twins manifest or just a 'regular' demon? Did you ever have a friend named Quinn at all?
>>3070096I usually first pirate, then buy if it was actually good. If the author has a good track record or it had a good WiP version I've already played, I might buy it at release.
Can anyone reccomend me a good management cyoa? Loved the town management subplot of Lords of Infinity and Silverworld, and i'm looking for something similar.
>>3070096I buy the ones I like, though usually after trying the demo first. I only started playing these recently so I bought Guns and Lords of Infinity purely on the strength of Sabres and both them and Fallen Hero on recommendations from this thread. There are also a couple of WIPs that will be instant release purchases for me. It's probably just wishful thinking but I do kind of hope it goes some way to telling CoG to invest in their actually good authors.>>3070101I'll buy your game, cultivator/Unsupervised-anon.
Did the author really name the Legate Gaius? lol
>what if we kissed…and the keeper ran by being chased by hellhounds…and then we sued the school together…haha jk…unless?kek
>The Tally Ho/Jolly Good author is apparently chummy with the CYS crowd.>Has neat guides on writing.>Said he's fine with you pirating his stuff as long as you don't tell him.>Bitches from tumblr hate him for some reason.Just how based one man can be?
>>3070119Stronghold: A Hero's Fate is one of the vanishingly rare good mainline CoG games, it's all about founding and leading a new settlement.
>>3070096Someday Ill post my list of purchased CoG releases from their website so you all can shame me. Im just not drunk enough right now.
>>3070125It's a proud Roman name.
>>3070096I always pirate, then say on 4chan that I'll buy them if they're good but never act on it.
>>3070143Need to watch Rome again one of these days.
>>3070147Go for it, I watched it for the first time in years recently, playing Expeditions last year made me want to. Held up even better than I expected it to.
>at the end of the WIP you get to choose which of your love interests comes to see you>if you choose Quinn, she admonishes you for picking her instead of working on your relationship with one of the others, since you two are already friends>you can tell her you just picked her because she's your favourite>she says of course she is, since she's your childhood friendExtremely cute. Really looking forward to the full version, now.
>>3070137Sold. Thanks anon.
Too real.
>>3070096I buy the ones that I already trust, mostly HGs that I followed since they were WIPs. With CoGs it's more likely that I pirate them then buy if I really liked, but that doesn't happen much these days. Though I don't really even pirate them anymore, so yeah.
>>3070122>I'll buy your game, cultivator
>>3070135They are probably whining about power dynamics while us chads are making out with Fitzie in the supply closet
>>3070096used to buy only, then remembered piracy existed, and then CoG raised their prices so I just pirate everything now and then buy if like it>>3070135child and youth services?

>>3070257>engaging in an illicit relationship with your servantShameless! Outrageous! Scandalous!
>>3070287It's okay, Starling, there's enough of Jolly Good Dick even for you.
>>3070287You forgot Hot!
>>3070139As long as you didn't buy anything from Sergi, I won't judge. Everyone has their niches.
>>3070313I own several I honestly didn't like but picked up on sale or a whim. I travel a lot and these are great for trips.
The gods will punish me for my sins.
>>3070367There are at least twenty not listed because I bought them outside the omnibus app.
>>3070367>Sins of the Sires
>>3070405Oh yeah it was ass. Not the worst on my list by far though.
>>3070405>>3070432Have it as well in my library, I just wanted more VtM after Night Road and Parliament, so I bought the remaining two, and while Out for Blood is alright, SotS is pretty shit.
>>3070436I think I am an outlier in that I actually really liked Out for Blood. Fun cast, and about as close to a Hunter game we are likely to get.
>>3070444>about as close to a Hunter game we are likely to getThey recently announced several new WoD games, Werewolf and Hunter are the first two that will be released. And I somewhat liked out for blood as well, great Buffy game.
>>3070444Yeah, I really liked Out of Blood too. Game had better priest roleplay than most other Sword & Sorcery cyoas.
>>3070367Bro your Zombie Exodus games?!?!?
Here's the list of shame
>>3069968gamu?
>>3070675Infinity Saga.
>>3070257Fitzie will be wearing a wedding collar and calling me Master before the series is over.
>>3070678Same desu, but she'll be wearing a wedding collar and I'll be calling her Master
>>3070703gay
>>3070704There's nothing gay about wanting to be dominated by your cute maidservant.
>>3070710Fitzie can't dominate you, she just acts like a brat. Also being a sub is extremely gay.
>>3070710Willingly emasculating yourself is gay
>>3070713Yeah, but I like brats.>wanting to beAnyway, I just think role reversal is fun. When you're meant to be the one in charge it's cute to play the flustered, long-suffering guy who gets badgered into things, then when you're the servant/companion you play the cool, competent one.
>>3070719It's overplayed in my opinion, I can barely remember the last time the one in charge was actually in charge instead of some epic reversal taking place. Every time you're a leader they go out of their way to smooth out the power imbalance and kneecap the shit you can do because you're 'nice' or their fantasy culture does absolute rulership differently, modern media is obsessed with portraying the main character as an underdog in all cases. I want to play competent people and that's hard enough to do when most of these games are written for women.
Each time someone brings up power imbalance, I am once again reminded of an absolute rofllmao with Ferrado, a noble in high ruling position of a culture with traditional fights to the death for undesirables, once MC starts to express interest in them.
>>3070743The imbalance is the point. The imbalance always exists. I literally can't think of a situation when an imbalance existing isn't a good thing.
>no games where you can seduce cute boys in uniformtwinkbros...
>>3070670>belle-de-nuit>love at elevation>versusReally bro?
>>3070828Not him, but Belle de Nuit is kino.
>>3070828Not him or that other anon, but Belle is great, Pirate's Pleasure is also good.
>>3070829>hearts choicenone of those games are good
>>3070096i pirated all of them except samurai of hyuga book 1 years ago
>>3070831Why would you lie like that to some poor anon? I couldn't even finish pirate's please
>>3070828Versus was one of the first series that I got intoLove at Elevation was a mistakeBut fuck you, Belle-de-Nuit is great, even bought the dlc/sequel
>>3070976Well, it's a romance novel aimed at women, why would I lie, anon? As I said several times before, it just really reminded me of the old Sea Dogs games or books about pirates like Captain Blood or something, just with less sailing and a female MC - but that was the whole point, it's well written and the characters are great.>>3071155>Belle-de-Nuit is great, even bought the dlc/sequelYeah, same
>>3071155Fuck, sell me on lesbian dueling. Every HC game I've tried as a loser for me other than the Gladiator one which was okay and really carried because I got to fuck women with muscles.
>>3071268It's not really lesbian, 2 of the 3 ROs are male.
>>3071268You're just some woman who is a great swordfighter in Paris and fights to protect the honor of the brothel, Belle-de-Nuit, and the women that works there.4 ROs, one male, one female, one where you select their gender and a tranny>Sebastian: your rival duelist>Amaryllis: a friendly and confident prostitute>Lou (male or female): the adorable, shy bartender of the brothel>Yasmina: tranny actress, only appears in sequel (Belle-de-Nuit: Point-du-Jour)I don't think the game has as much of a focus on romance as other Heart's Choice titles. The game is more about how you handle protecting the brothel and the prostitutes. The plot is pretty funny and the plot of the sequel that doesn't revolve around Yasmina is also pretty enjoyable
I need Manerkol to fill my holes full of cum.
>>3071295Fuck it, I have nothing better to play right now. Ill write back with thoughts.
>>3066025>>3066025Universal suffrage and LGBT rights aren't connected in any way. Unless you completely lack imagination it's easy to think of a culture that has one but not the other.
>>3071396Any culture with actual problems (threat of warlord invasion which almost always leads to genocide) has neither.
>>3065198I can't think of any xianxia stories I've read where the MC actually earns his "self-improvement". They're usually just gifted endless bullshit powerups. Even in stories where they actually work for their power, they're still putting in a few months of effort and dunking over people who've trained for hundreds of years.
>>3071408I don't remember that happening in Royal Affairs
>>3071413Then that setting is fine to have them. I'm just edgeposting.
>>3071417No problem.Incidentally, I think Creme de la Creme and Royal Affairs are meh but the free novella Noblisse Oblige was genuinely really good. An interesting plot with a lot of different endings.
>>3071410I can see why. I have a slowburn where you start as a ~10 year old peasant and actually work towards getting any power at all throughout your childhood over the course of 35,000 words. While I think it's well done for a first CYOA it still lacks the star power of games where you can jump into based shit 5 minutes in. I'm trying to remedy that in chapter 3, and it comes out kind of well where you get more autonomy as you grow up and your powers grow, which is a good metaphor, but I still had to add an option to completely skip your childhood just because playing through it 150 times for troubleshooting has made me hate it.Still looking to release WIP in July, fingers crossed.
>>3071413I played through a few times and I think the only playthrough I actually truly appreciated where my character ended up was my arrogant detached prince who was only nice to Beaumont and helped get the suffragette redacted before getting a job with the diplomacy office to continue being a glow in the dark and dunking on the poors with his rich fiancée. Also the playthrough with the highest reputation stats I did despite being a duplicitous snake with a façade of insincere dignity. I should play dicks more often.
>>3070160ANON GET BACK INTO FORMATIONANON DO NOT TRY FUCK THE SCHIZO DEMON
>>3071441I'm not into the genre at all, but I'll try your WIP. So keep it up, anon.

a CYOA with this feel? not necessary a Sci-Fi, medieval and fantasy works too.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lp5y-BeBq6g
>>3071452You can even set things up so you're the one who will inherit the throne in the future, Royal Affairs and Creme de la Creme are good because I can finally play a character like I do in real life, aka selfish asshole who only cares about himself and his richfag waifu.
>>3071747royal affairs has no waifus
>>3071750You literally get married(engaged) in the end.
>>3071751but all the options are shit in comparison to creme de la creme
>>3071755Your guard and the richfag are cute and valid. I do agree that these games need around 500% more ROs like Auguste.
>Decide to try Whiskey-4 because I keep seeing people shill it>Immediately opens with nightmares and angsty flashbacks about how traumatized and damaged you areYou faggots said it was better than ITFO but it's the exact same brand of whiny garbage but in space
>>3071767I don't think that author can write anything but angsty garbage.
>>3071767It really isnt the same at all. Your guy has a bad morning at the beginning but after that pretty much all PTSD shit is solely opt in. You can pretty much be okay with brutally killing people who don't deserve it and have no desire towards the ex character other than a swift death.
>>3071699Read Eternal. Its about a weaponized breeding program for supersoldiers in a fantasy tyranny. Lots of routes, some better than others. It's great in my opinion, but has many, many, typos the author is not interested in correcting.https://chooseyourstory.com/story/eternal
>>3071786That teacher bitch at the start was irritating
>>3071788Good news! That was the point. She's a bitch.
>>3071802Yes, but she overstays her welcome. I like the Rogue and the Post-apocalypse cyoa more, the vampire path is great.
