Eww. Why the fuck did they turn blood points bar into that abomination?
>>
>>2978774
it's closer to tabletop where "blood points" are integer number, not percentile scale
>>
This is the only game I haven't been able to get working on my Steam Deck. It runs, but there is no way to enter text in any field, so you can't name your character or use computers. I was pretty bummed. Hopefully it gets fixed someday but I'm not holding my breath.
>>
>>2978786
I'm talking about the visuals. It looks ugly as Cain's sin.
>>
>>2978786
Also it never was a percentile scale to begin with. It was just represented as a bar. You had 10 points represented that way, which is pretty damn rich considering the PC's generation should not be anyway this high. But it was very obviously discreet to anyone who played it.

Can you even really develop one? Seems like you were just some schlub who fucked someone in a sleazy motel
>>
>>2978812
Autism-driven effort to have visual interface that mirrior game mechanics 1:1. It's a surprise they didn't partition health bar into chunks as well.
>>
>>2978818
Have they tried replacing both bars with fucking numbers in a circle then? Of course they didn't, they're retarded talentless hacks.

I'm going to try the Clan Quest mod on my next playthrough. It's been said many times here that it's basically the only mod worth playing but, I'm not sure as I've never used mods (other than UP, though my first 2 or so playthroughs were back in the 2000's and I just got lucky because the game ran fine for me without patches).

Otherwise, I'll probably go either Tremere (for like the third or fourth time, I can't help myself) or Ventrue (for the second time).
I'll go guns on either because it adds a money sink that adds actual motivation to get cash. I might not go locking picking for the first time just to play the game differently while picking subterfuge (which I think I've only done once), scholarship (again, only once), and finance if Ventrue with intimidation for Tremere. Something like that.

Good evening.

Anyone think that now with AI imitating voice actors we might actually get some decent fan made content for this game?
>>
>>2988318
For me it's Tremfu.
>>
>>2988332
This game is too cult for that. The best you can expect is some cringe OC fishmalk shit made by a troon. They're the only ones willing to waste their life on mods these days.
>>
>>2988332
I can see the AI being used to re-record some of the lines in the CQM. Because while the mod voice actors were trying very hard to impersonate the original VAs, you can clearly tell it's an amateur work.

>>
>>2988332
I think the community is more interested in adding "Blade" and "Crow" pop culture stuff than in adding stuff that fits the game organically.
>>
>>2988296
Dig up those old UP versions and use the Plus option on installing. UP has been becoming more and more bloated with more and more questionable choices since.
>>
>>2988296
>>2988464
I mean for future normal runs. For Clan Quest you'll have to use whatever is required for it.
>>
>>2988464
I wish the Plus Patch was modular. Like, sure, I want VV's sex scene in the game, but this means I have to deal with the restored library bullshit and that shit half-assed Sabbat path.
>>
>>2988464
I've used the plus patch for over 10 years and it's apparent to me that wesp5 only has this one thing in his life and as a result has been autisticly bloating the fuck out of it with nonsense.
>>2988466
Yes, so for CQM, it uses quite an older version of UP and I'm pretty okay with that.
>>2988507
Sabbat path from UP+? Wut?
I also completely forgot about the VV scene; though now that I think about it, I do remember her in the hot tub.
It's been too long since my last playthrough bros.

Not worth making it's own thread but I am giving VtM: Redemption another shot and it's actually quite good.

The gameplay is a little janky but workable outside of some NPCs being retards. The plot is actually top notch though. I guess having Christof and his overall decisions be more set in stone than Bloodlines helps here.. Everything needing multiple variants for whether you killed this person, talked to them, ignored them or pissed in their mouth just kind of dilutes what decisions you do make. It also makes having the plot actually advance in a meaningful way much easier when it's already been roughly determined.

Also Christof is generally a bad motherfucker that puts the VtM:B protagonist to shame
>>
Wesp is a great example of a modder who doesn't understand that not every piece of "cut content" has to be jury-rigged back into a game.
>>
>>2988787
>jury-rigged
>>
>>2988774
Problem with Redemption is it's a Diablo-style game, but with focus on story and not doing the same grind runs to get better loot. In fact, game is definitely finite in that shit stays complete when you clear it.
>>
>>2988774
>bad motherfucker that puts the VtM:B protagonist
Well, vtmb MC is just a normal (relatively) modern person. Christof is a fucking crusader from 1141, and by the end of the game is on a level of a methuselah with the local equivalent of Soul Reaver in his hands. Kinda different power levels there.
>>
>>2988799
I'm not seeing what is inherently bad about that though? There is actually randomized loot for every enemy or container outside of a few fixed item drops. It wouldn't make sense for most of those areas not to remain cleared either, just from a logical outlook.

You go to the silver mine, deal Azrha the final death.. Why would you go back?

You pick a history/backstory at character creation. It's very minimal, but it's there.

Ah okay, it's disabled by default in the GOG version. That explains why I don't remember history being an option during character creation
>>
>>2989723
Yes, but it doesn't clash with the game so re-enabling it is fine. If UP ever gets an intermediary version between basic (which should only contain bugfixes) and plus, histories should be in that one.

Enabled. In this case it was a complete feature that was left dormant in the game.
>>
>>2989723
>>2989726
It's not fanfiction, these were official, they were disabled, and don't really work all that good in the patch version.
>>
>>2989723
No, those are the original ones.
The plus patch changes them and adds woke shit sure but there were some original ones you could enable.
>>
>>2989805
Really? I've been playing since launch and I've never heard that. I'm not sure how you'd answer this but...sauce? I can believe it, to be fair, but I always thought it was an UP thing (which I happen to like, incidentally).
>>2990713
Woke shit? That's concerning; like what? Give some examples.
>>
>>2989716
>>2990713
>>2989810
I always wondered why these were disabled. Some of them were boring but others were written so well. I remember a youtuber referencing the Side-Show Clown one as basically his entire career.
>>
>>2991016
Guess it was the bugs, I remember the game was falling apart when it was released, the major bugs were things like you couldn't buy any clothes/armor or actually finish the Society of Leopold mission, it always crashed when you escaped on a boat.
>>
>>2991016
Because they were unfinished. The histories are actually bringing Bloodlines closer to the tabletop roots and should've been in the game, if only for the ability to swap your stats/talents priorities.
It always pissed me off that you can't do that in vanilla Bloodlines.
>>
>>2991013
You need the utility that unpacks .VPK files, VPKTool. Inside one of those archives is "./vdata/system/histories000.txt". So you unpack your vanilla CD version and see for yourself.

Access to VA's wouldn't make the mods suddenly good. VTMB's writing is Bukowski LA sleaze with goth dressing. Instead you'd get shit like Smiling Jack saying reddit memes and Damsel coming out as being trans the entire time.

Kid, the subjects it deals with are before your time. Yes, you have derivatives of those now, twisted nearly beyond recognition, but it's still different shit. You don't have a frame of reference. You don't get it. And it's okay. Go play Fortnite or however it's called.
