No idea why Misson is the top tier in Kotor 1 tho, you'd think she'd be the weakest for lore reasons.Yet it begs the Lore question... You have to speak with him first to even start the quest to build one, which usually happens on the ship since it triggers automatically upon speaking with him, but you can do it outside if you speak with him in your party. Have you triggered the scene where the pirates show up at the Ebon Hawk yet? You need to keep doing quests in the different sections until someone notices you and the plot advances. If you're having trouble you can speak with the diminutive alien outside the bar in the Entertainment sector if you want to know how you're doing.

Mostly you'd do it if you want to manipulate Influence or see what happens (it changes some plot events later) but it's not a very good choice, more just if you want to see everything in the game. 37,000 credits is a good amount, of course it depends on your luck with finding things in shop RNG that are good enough to be worth buying - some really useful items like utility belts are cheap, but some of the top-tier gear can be worth 10 or 20k+ each.
