Jesus of Nazareth existed. You can argue whether or not He was God, but almost all scholars, Christian or not, agree that he existed.

I don't know about jrpg villains, but you literally have that exact interaction in the nwn2 prologue between the protagonist and a town militia member who wouldn't answer to the call to arms.

What part of "no squealing" did you not understand?

Then what did he do in real life that warranted a crucification? The Jews didn't have the power to crucify people and Bible Jesus wasn't really doing anything worth a death sentence either. He was like a minor (philosophical) anarchist.

>Then what did he do in real life that warranted a crucification?
Claimed to be king of the jews. Since those were appointed by Rome, he was effectively guilty of subversion, which the romans punished with crucifixion.
>He was like a minor (philosophical) anarchist.
Anarchists have been heavily persecuted as subversives by most governments through history as well.

Mithos from Tales of Symphonia wanting to turn achieve world peace and end racism by turning everyone into "angels" by making them soulless automatons. He literally controls the church in the game worlds. By the time of the game story, Mithos has created global hegemonies that only further perpetuate racism against half elves because they become associated with the Desians, Mithos's agents and harbingers of death and enslavement.

The villain from Breath of Fire 2 is another great example, Deathevan, who gains power from people worshiping and serving him and actively tries to get the player to worship them instead of the Dragon God. Deathevan warns against death and destruction that it plans to bring about on its own anyway.

That discussion literally takes place in the Bible itself: Matthew 27, Luke 23, Mark 15, John 18-19. Pilate, the Roman governor, expresses your exact question in each account. The Jewish leaders basically frame their argument as:
>Jesus claims to be a king
>Since he's a Jew, he must be claiming to be the king of the Jews
>The Jews are under the authority of Rome
>Therefore, Jesus is trying to start an insurrection as a monarch without permission from Rome, a capital offense
The texts state that he was accused of other things, but that was the only thing Pilate is recorded as bothering to ask Jesus about directly. Jesus reportedly gave no defense, and so Pilate decides he might as well be guilty.

The most likely thing is that Pilate just wanted to suppress what he thought would lead to a revolution. Either Jesus really was becoming a Jewish king and would revolt against Rome like the Maccabees did under the Seleucids, or the Jewish priest class would try to stir things up after Pilate let Jesus off the hook despite their wishes. Killing Jesus would eliminate both possibilities.

>Why would a bunch of usurious jews kill an outspoken anarcho-socialist??
>>
>>2866113
Also mention that Pilate *did* recognize Jesus as king, by writing Jesus Christ King of the Jews in the languages, on top of the cross
And it was likely just to piss off the Jews, hilariously
>The chief priests of the Jews protested to Pilate, “Do not write ‘The King of the Jews,’ but that this man claimed to be king of the Jews.”
>Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”
>>
>>2866150
>by writing Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudeorum
FTFY.
Christ as a term wasn't even used until the hellenization of christianity, the jews would have said moshiach (or whatever is the correct ancient spelling).

Makai Kingdom.
The main character does it on a secondary character, the final boss does it on the main character.
Then it happens a third time for the good ending.

This type of thread is the exact reason /v/ sucks and should probably just be bannable. OP's post is effectively just a random image and saying "Try to relate this to the board subject". It's why /v/ gets filled up with softcore porn and politics bait images.
