I humbly request ye lot a simple picture! I remember fondly, a picture of Lindamea with the others in a group but Lindamea wasn't touching the girls. I have looked for it in my folder yet I find no result then I decided to check pixiv and yet I couldn't find it there either. I feel like I have gone mad and started to imagine pictures of something that is not real.

how long is BS2? I'm at the amusement park
>>
>>2781636
Around 40 hours. Depending on the route you took, you should be nearing the end of the first playthrough. Return to Dream Library and check if the door to the north are open. If they are, check your covenants
>>
>>2781636
25–40 hours long depending on how fast you are and how quickly you grasp the mechanics
probably less than 10 if you know what you're doing
>>
>>2781402
Anon that's like the tutorial
>>
So I finished BS2, not that long ago. I'm sure there's stuff I've missed along the way, but I have some doubts
Is Vernai the same black rabbit who hanged out with Grimm and Alice during the tea partys?
Also technically when did those parties take place? To my understanding Mary Ann created Grimm and then she placed him in the Lost Kingdom, was it between BS1 and BS2?
How many souls are inside Grimm's body?
There was this...thing that happened in the middle of one of my cycles that I couldn't replicate, I was trying to unlock the hidden route and was talking to RH around different bonfires, and when I talked to her at the bonfire in front of the Ox university she had this creepy...smile? but I couldn't replicate this at all, is this linked in some way to that "smiling man" that appeared during the IRL Alice portion? And meaby who visited Mary Sue when she was imprisioned?
So I know that Mother/Sister/Daughter Alice are "linked" in a way to Bandersnatch, Jubjub, and Jabberwock, but in what way? I've heard some say that they're "the same", but that doesn't really makes sense to me because they 6 of them are together during ending H for a moment
>>
>>2781658
>first question
No. Vernai is prayer master's son.
>second question
The one in the original tea party isn't Grimm, but rather Lewis. Grimm is created after she steals Lewis away from wonderland.
>third question
We don't know the specific amount, but I remember some Anons speculating that it was around 8 because of the tragic hotel scene.
>4
I hadn't heard about that one before
>fifth question
Anon... they're pretending to be the different Alices. They're their respective actresses.

> Is Vernai the same black rabbit who hanged out with Grimm and Alice during the tea partys?
No, that's Prayer Master, the one who leveled you up during BS1. You can find his grave on 0 SEN in mushroom village
> Also technically when did those parties take place? To my understanding Mary Ann created Grimm and then she placed him in the Lost Kingdom, was it between BS1 and BS2?
Check pic related. First, The Crawling One kidnapped Dodgson and placed him in its Garden, along with a fragment of itself (Prickett). Due to Prayer Master (or, as some would interpret it, Prickett herself) Mary Sue gains access to the Garden and placed Dodgson/Lewis Carroll inside Grimm, leading to BS1. The Alice that names you in BS1 is Prickett
Probably, the Jap wiki seems to think that it was Grimm (forma complete), not Dodgson, who was taking part in the Tea Party. No idea why

> How many souls are inside Grimm's body?
The Hotel scene in BS2 shows 8 or 9. Though it might be just visual representation of countless souls inside Grimm. We might find out in BS3
If you did not see the scene, look for a hidden door immediately past the first 2 giant fish encounters in the underwater area

Are you sure it wasn't a dream or something?
On to the latter part of your question, it was Jabberwock, the one who caused Mary Sue to become "evil" in the first place. As for what she was planning? Nobody really knows, the mysterious old hag causes wars among the lorefags even to this day. We might get an answer in BS3 just what keikaku she has in mind - or if she has a keikaku at all. She might just be senile
>So I know that Mother/Sister/Daughter Alice are "linked" in a way to Bandersnatch, Jubjub, and Jabberwock, but in what way? I've heard some say that they're "the same", but that doesn't really makes sense to me because they 6 of them are together during ending H for a moment
It was meant to be a reveal. Note how the 3 figures were transparent. The three nightmares are actors who played the 3 Alices. Daughter Alice is Bandersnatch, Sister Alice is Jubjub (who fell in love with Grimm, that's why she helped him escape in ending H) and Jabberwock, who played Mother Alice
>>
>>2781674
I see, I didn't notice the transparency thing, but it makes more sense now. Still about the first part I'm 100% sure it happened, it might've been a bug honestly, I couldn't replicate it no matter what and can't remember much about it other than it happened at that bonfire specifically.

Thanks for the answers anons! Oh, one last thing, this might sounds really retarded and it might be really retarded, but
Why are only some of the BS1 companions here in BS2? I can understand RH surviving because of her BS1 ending or Miranda because of the hollow thing, but I don't understand how Elisabeth or Victoria are here as I recall they got erased too in BS1? Did the Crawling One/GG bring them here too? If so why?
>>
>>2781681
Yes, when TCO took over Elysium back in BS1 ending D, it also took control over everything that was in BS1. It did so, presumably, because it wanted to torment Mary Sue (which can be seen by her name change to Mary Ann, a servant character in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, as well as her imprisonment) and perhaps Grimm too for his unfaithfulness to Alice. Though this is speculative, but in line with TCO's character - she's jealous as hell. Just look at Lorina's card scene, Jabber's scenes and 100% dungeon completion scene

These games have had my interest for a while and I think I'm going to finally get around to playing them. I know they're incredibly deep and complicated though. If I play through them normally while obviously making an effort to be at least a bit thorough, will I gradually start to understand everything and figure it all out by the end or am I going to be left confused on a lot no matter what?
Is there anything I should do to guarantee I don't miss anything crucial and actually understand shit?
>>
>>2782299
BS1 is pretty to understand, the lore only gets a bit complex with BS2, but honestly if you pay enough attention and play enough you should be able to figure out most of it by yourself
>>
>>2782299
Playing through them normally while paying attention should be enough. It's nowhere near as complicated as, say, La-Mulana, but taking notes and screenshots of important events can help if you're planning to dive deep into lorefaggotry. Revisiting old screenshots after getting new information which changes how they can be interpreted can be a lot of fun
If you want to fully prepare, then knowing fairy tales can help. You probably know about them through cultural osmosis and/or childhood, but feel free to have a read through Grimms and Andersen if you're particularly bored. You can just dive straight into BS1
Reading through Lewis Carroll's novels is pretty much mandatory if you want a full understanding and appreciation of what's going on in BS2. You'll want to read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking-Glass and Hunting of the Snark. Bonus points for Charles Dodgson's biography. I recommend Norton Critical Edition, which contains all 4 of those. You might see a meme list of like 40 books, but pay it no heed - most of those are just small references that do not play any plot-important role
Also keep in mind that BS1 starts off pretty simple and it only ramps up near the end - it's one of those "Trust me bro, it gets good x hours in" games (if you don't enjoy the gameplay/exploration)

Or you can just ignore everything I said and just play through the games - do the lore diving post factum if you end up enjoying them. That's what I did
>>
>>2782331
And here's the TL;DR
>Fairy tales are nice to read before BS1, but not mandatory. Read if bored
>Alice is nigh-mandatory, but you can read it after BS2 if you like the game. The main story is perfectly understandable without it, but you'll miss the finer details
>>
>>2782331
Anywhere I could find those books without having to cough up the cash? I'd be willing to pay if it really is necessary but a free alternative would be quite handy.
>>
>>2782341
They're all in the public domain, so Gutenberg and the like. You can also find an audiobook - this one's my favourite https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNh9BoZzOpI
Though you'll be missing out on the illustrations, I don't think the Gutenberg version has them. You can also take a trip to the local library, especially if you don't have an e-reader. Reading books on desktop/mobile is cancer

>>
>>2780021
Grimm and Redd are the only actual humans.
>>
>>2782384
Actually are they even human? Grimm is basically just an amalgamation of souls put together, and Red Hood is yet another fairy tale character given life by Mary Sue right?
>>
>>2782383
Sifu, Triangle Strategy, 13 Sentinels (if you don't own a ps4)
King Arthur: Knight's Tale and Crystal Project look fun, I'm just waiting for a sale
And Elden Ring, despite its flaws, is a decent entry in the Souls series

There's also Gloomwood, but it's Early Access so it doesn't count
>>
>>2782384
Grimm is an undead soul vessel, he's hardly a human.

>>2782386
Red is though. It's hinted a handful of times in BS2 that she's a human girl forced to play the role of Little Red Riding Hood that Leaf wrote.

TCO is gimped from it thinking it's Alice, but I'd still say that Yog's the one gimping their powerlevel harder, since we're told that if they do too much they'll wake the Idiot, while we never hear about anything remotely similar for TCO. Then again, I'm not EMMM so they can do whatever they want lorewise.

The modpack from the description was here: https://arca.live/b/blacksouls/30811537
It may have been updated since then, but I can't find one.
You can see demos of individual mods by checking the serialization tab in the Black Souls hub. They're forum longplays, or similar to ye olde Let's Play threads. Here's a spoiler-y screenshot from one of the new expansions mods.

By all accounts, TCO should still be alive and kicking.
>>
>>2784537
>Not like it matters since everything that happens in G is rollback'd by GG, yeah?
It matters in the context of G at least, which is what was being talked about. And everything being rolled back doesn't seem to be the case, Red is notably short an arm and a dog in H and she was outside of the garden when GG cycled Grimm back in. That said, yes, TCO is almost certainly alive and well post-H.
>>
So I'm having some problems understanding some things about human souls and what is and what isn't a human, please correct me if I'm wrong but
> souls, as in true human souls, can't be created, the closest thing to that is Grimm, made by Mary Sue by fusing a bunch of human souls together to, so to say, make a new one
> The three sisters from Carroll's "flashback" so to say are humans, they exist, or well, existed, in the real world. Alice, Edith and Lorina
> The boss of mental ward, and the queen of hearts are basically the souls of Edith and Lorina who were transported into Wonderland
Then shouldn't those two be at least kind of like Red Hood? as in human girls who were given a new role in the garden?
Also do we know what actually happened to Alice Liddell? There are some things that makes me thing she died long before BS1 or BS2, but some other things makes me question if that's true

First of all, did you play through the game?

All of the daughters are there "in flesh" (if you can call it that) in wonderland, they are real
Edith turned into demonbeast in the mental ward, she was the bird you fought for the ring
Lorina is Lorina the Queen of Hearts ofcourse, she became a niggerman because she made a wish to "get the teacher to care about her"
Alice is kept in the white room, the room you enter in ending G after Red stays to fight the three nightmares in this scene >>2784105
She is seen leaving the place alongside Lewis's soul(?) after
>>
>>2784541
>It matters in the context of G at least, which is what was being talked about.
Fair.
>Red is notably short an arm and a dog in H
Poro is certainly nowhere to be seen, but I don't think that's worth arguing about until DRH comes out desu.
As for her arm, it actually makes sense that she doesn't have it in Ending H regardless of whether the rollback happened or not, even if the 2 scene pics from Ending H make it hard to tell whether she IS missing an arm.
Think about it, she was always missing an arm as far as the Player is concerned, meaning she loses it in one of the first 65 cycles that the Player never sees and doesn't know anything about.
Common sense (mine anyway) says that DLC3 only happens right after the Player experiences Ending G for the first time, meaning it makes perfect sense for Red not to have her arm even if GG did turn back the clock.
>>
>>2784588
Red has both her arms in the game in scenes we the player play before reaching ending G
>>
>>2784582
Oh damn I actually forgot about the last scene of ending G. Actually I fucked up and literally forgot my actual real question, the TLDR is Are everyone in the gardens either great ones or the souls of humans/animals taken from the real world and given a new "role" so to say? Given as creating souls is impossible
>>
>>2784568
>>2784597

The VN segment is a bit on the grey area, some people insist it never happened
And some people believe it did, but the segment was just a memory, with obviously things that didnt happen, like the spooky shit
I believe it did because it explains Lorina's obsession with Lewis, you can see she already was a little bit of suspicious and envious of Alice in there.
The dicking was basically like throwing gasoline into the fire, she couldnt let go after that and made her wish.
Edith is kinda there just because, also to show how horny Lewis is because of the damn brat mesugaki Alice.
EMMM kinda did Edith dirty but if you knew what happened to her IRL it makes sense.
I dont know if Edith ever was given a role but the reason she is in Wonderland is because she made a wish to be with Prince Leopold, apparently they had an affair or something irl.
Also Lorina was given a role as well, i guess as a way to pay back for the wish she got
Btw i dont think the whole wish ever got fulfilled, or was just one of those monkeypaw wishes where Lewis basically fucks her but forgets about her immediately after.

Niggermen cant create new souls, but can stitch them together for sure, like Leaf did. Its explained somewhere.
Everyone is either a puppet, a real soul of a human, or a niggerman
>>
>>2784598
Is Lorina part of the ending B group of characters that fuck Grimm then give birth to the character again? Like Dodo, Mock Turtle et al are all shown in B that Grimm fucks them and makes more of them and then in ending G Grimm goes through them all in a semi boss rush that Lorina forma niggerman is part of too.
>>
>>2784598
Ok that explains a lot, thanks.
Also I guess that we don't but do we know who Red Hood was before all this began? I speedruned throught the very first game and while there are details I don't think they give us a concrete answer and couldn't find anything solid enough, for a while I had a dumb theory that she actually was Alice Liddell only because of Mary Sue making Red Hood die before 20, as, a really twisted way to "keep her forever as the little girl" Lewis always wanted, would've fit but it doesn't make that much sense now that I was reminded of the last scene of ending G

No, shes not shown during the scene, im sure that confirms that shes not really a "niggerman" but has niggerman powers.
She also has a different portrait from the rest of them if you talk to her with low SEN.
Whatever the reason, they either dont let Lorina breed with Grimm, or she cant. Im sure she would like to.
TCO would probably be PRETTY pissed if they let her lmao
>>
>>2784570
>grimm kills most powerful being in the verse after azathoth
Grimm kills a being that's weakened and crazed by pretending to be a human for so long that it thinks it is one now, and is in love with Grimm (or at least a part of him) as well, a being so far gone that fucking Yog says that the being once known as The Crawling One is no more. Both Yog and TCO are handicapped as fuck in their current roles/states, but if peak TCO really was the top dog in the universe pre-Aliceification, it sure as shit isn't anymore.
>>
>>2784594
>Red has both her arms in the game in scenes we the player play before reaching ending G
Yeah, you're right. She had both arms in the scene where she grasped Grimm's hands for example.
I deleted this because I ended up rewording the post, but originally, I was going to say that I don't think we can fully grasp the state of Red.
While she had her 2 arms before G, near the beginning of a cycle it kinda seems like she's lacking one when you fight her as a demonbeast in Lutwidge Town for example. What can you make out of that?
>>
>>2784606
The red heart monster form is her 0 Sen form so most likely her tragic story is that her wish and desire led to her losing her humanity and becoming a niggerman. Or I suppose you could spin it the other way and say her desire drove her to ascend to a higher form of a Great One. if she isn't in Winterfell as well as B then she probably is one of the Great Ones like Bander or Jubjub that doesn't have kids
>>
>>2784588
>Think about it, she was always missing an arm as far as the Player is concerned, meaning she loses it in one of the first 65 cycles that the Player never sees and doesn't know anything about.
We see Red missing an arm exactly once time before the player first runs through G/H, and that's the 100 SEN encounter in Lutwidge. Everything else leading up to that point has her with both arms, in fact that game makes a point of showing this just before the TCO fight in G. That said, I'm of the opinion that G (and most of H even) have happened at least once before, especially if you buy into the idea that most bloodstain messages in the game are from Grimm and his fellow souls.

Its always a good excuse for me to spam Lorina in these threads.
And Red is like Grimm, before he was made, Leaf made Red.
Shes got a real human soul, she was just twisted and she doesnt remember anything.
There was that one girl boss (i didnt play Reds game sorry) you fight in her game, she appears in BS2 aswell inside the house of the village that has the backdoor to the room where you fight the house (black rabbits graveyard)
That girl knows Red from real life. And red also has mysterious memories of the Oxford academy when you talk to her there.

>>2784568
>souls, as in true human souls, can't be created, the closest thing to that is Grimm, made by Mary Sue by fusing a bunch of human souls together to, so to say, make a new one
As far as we know right now, you cannot create a human soul from literally nothing. It's worth noting that it's not just humans that have souls however, and that souls can be altered and/or warped from their original forms.[/spoiler
>The three sisters from Carroll's "flashback" so to say are humans, they exist, or well, existed, in the real world. Alice, Edith and Lorina
You talking about the VN? The three girls there are dolls, created along with most other things there by GG. If you mean the game proper, then the three sisters still exist in some form in modern Wonderland. Lorina's taken the role of the Queen of the Heart, likely as a result of her giving up her soul in her wish to be with Lewis. Edith's turned demonbeast and is stuck in the Isolation Room in the Mental Ward after her and Jack (actually Prince Leopold)'s prayers were picked up by TCO. Alice is in the white room/prison post-TCO fight in G. All three did in fact exist in the real world in BS's universe.

>it was in context that he's insane now and can't do trickster stuff anymore like he used to, not about powerlevels. anyway i still don't believe it, even with alice nerf, i doubt he would be that weak
Mabel prefaces what she says by mentioning that wearing the role for too long will make even the soul of the actor sink into that role until they forget who they are. That insanity is pretty fucking critical here, especially since we know it's trying its utmost to imitate a human being, something that is unquestionably far lower in terms of power than itself.

No Dodo, Jabberwock is Jabberwock.
Leaf's mother Baphomet neglected her completely so Jabber took "care" of her, Jabber is the reason Leaf is so fucked up

>>2784726
I just thought about the same thing, im thinking that either Leaf is lying during the scene or that she basically rejected her and thinks of Jabber more of her mother.

"I wanted to see how mother would react when she saw my very own tale."
Leads me more to believe that she thinks of Jabber as her mother since she would be way more interested in Leaf's antics than her real mother.
Especially since she was the one who corrupted her by having her read all that shitty fanfic "corrupted" fairytales

Part of it could be her rejecting Shub, but Leaf is still larping in D, because before giving you her ring, Leaf talks about her 'backstory' of being the daughter of Fairy Godmother. Fairy Godmother being the one who supposedly gave Cinderella her power.

So what technically is Grimm supposed to be? Could the stitched together souls be considered its own being at this point except for the times they heavily influence your actions? I have to wonder how things would have been if Mary Sue actually got to fulfill her "role" of Mary Ann more and we only found out about her real identity later. What would she have to have looked like in order to give us a tiny hint without actually giving it away at a glance?
>>
>>2787026
It's probably best to think of the GG/TCO (or even GG/Mary) split as that of a designer and worker. GG's the one that actually does the brunt if not the entirety of the labor for making sure shit's working the way it should, it's TCO (or Mary in BS1) that feeds the blueprints for what they want into it. Off the top of my head for what GG's responsible for, it's responsible for creating Grimm (as per what it says itself), influencing the insanity of the souls inside of Grimm (SEN) though it's not entirely responsible for all of their insanity, it's responsible for the vast majority of gear-oriented imagery, items and sounds throughout the game (bells are associated with niggermen, this is also why DLC 3's main battle theme/GG's first phase is a mishmash of both bells and gear sounds as GG is an artificial niggerman), it's responsible for the cycles and it's also one of the two main entities keeping Wonderland together given what we see in G/H. It's also the reason why Grimm's drawn back into Wonderland in G, since his soul is very closely tied to GG. There might be a few other things I'm spacing on at the moment.

Now that we're talking about Jabber...
Did she actually die? I just find everything regarding that kinda weird. She's a great one, killing her should be really fucking hard, did the rabbit actually kill her at some point? If so how come she's still around? Or is this all just delusions and flavor from the original poem that I shouldn't take seriously?
>>
>>2788119
I personally believe that she did die, and that kickstarted a whole bunch of other shit. Even if she didn't actually die, it's pretty much a reference to her "infertility".
>>
>>2788119
Her usage of "Callooh! Callay!" from the original poem might imply that it was all a part of her keikaku. Those lines, along with "frabjous day" and "beamish boy", are uttered by the slayer's father figure, who's there to welcome them after the supposed successful hunt. What's more, the lyrical subject in the original poem repeats the opening stanza, signifying that nothing really changed in the end. Jabberwock could've planned her own "death" for whatever reason. And let's not go into the "it's Grimm who really killed her" theory
We'll probably find out in BS3, along with the rest of Jabberwock's plan
>>
>>2788119
>Did she actually die?
There's hardly anything in any of the games we've seen so far that would lead me to believe otherwise. She even mentions how she got her ass kicked and sat around as a corpse for a long ass time.

It's Mabel's own library, and Mabel never seemed interested in creating false narratives, so I'd trust her personally, but no, there isn't any other piece of evidence about it.

It's obvious that EMMM has had plans in store for them.
When I asked about Little Mermaid's out-of-place-feeling inclusion in the hotel scene, people over here told me she was one of EMMM's favourites or something along those lines, and there was always the small hint of foreshadowing in Ending G's epilogue so it's probably been in the plans from the start.

what are some early weapons you recommend upgrading? I dont wanna end up wasting all my mats on niche or shit weapons
>>
I recently played through the series for the first time, and I know I missed a bunch of shit since I played the 3 games all back to back. So a "few" questions/impressions:

If Grimm is an amalgamation of souls Leaf mushed together, how does he wake up in the real world in BS2's G ending? He even seems to have his own house. For that matter, who left the note in his house? The only character I can think of is Victoria unless I'm forgetting someone else who calls him "master".
What's the deal with Victoria and her sisters anyway? They appear and talk normally at 0 SEN, which seems to imply they aren't Wonderland natives at least, but real Vic's dialogue when you first meet her kind of implies she is. Unless succubi can just hop between gardens and the generic enemy ones in 2 are fakes or something. Sidenote, it was crushing to learn Lost Empire Vic was never real.
From what I can gather, Red was a normal human that Leaf changed into a fairy tale character as proto-Grimm, as opposed to Grimm who was just a mishmash of a few authors, am I mistaken? Why do neither she nor Grimm remember him killing her at Hotel Poseidon?
I'm kind of unclear about the pre-BS1 timeline. So Grimm was already close to Alice (Prickett (?)) and Prayer Master before getting drawn into Leaf's garden. Was it that Leaf used part of Lewis Carroll's soul to make Grimm, and he just retained those memories?
BS1 ending D. After 2, I realize that that Alice was the niggerman one and not the one Grimm knew, but how/why did it choose that moment to interfere? Did Baphomet's death have something to do with it? Seeing as this ending leads directly into 2, I'm also confused as to why Grimm remembers Miranda dying in a way that'd allow her intact corpse to wash up on shore for a ghoul to eat when Leaf just gibbed everyone there.

On the topic of Miranda, I'm disappointed she got zero interactions with the other BS1 returnees in 2, not even Leaf. Hell, Red was right next to her cave at one point.
Was Elizabeth in 2 the same persona as in 1? Because she doesn't seem to recognize you (or maybe she's still pissed you killed her at the love hotel, I dunno). None of the other fairy tales you summon (who were bosses in BS1) seem to remember you or hold a grudge which makes it seem like it's a new "person" everytime they pop out of their book, but Elizabeth knows about Leaf and still hates Red when she didn't initially realize she was her daughter in 1.
Am I missing anything important about Wonderland as we see it in 1? I know Bandersnatch references her role there in 2, and Jabber's still aching after Vorpal tore her a new one like she describes when she rapes you, but the dialogue talking about Hatter, March Hare, and Dormouse there seems vaguely important. Also, is there any significance to how you can just walk into it randomly from Snow White's castle?
Speaking of Hatter, jesus christ, her battle dialogue in G ending when all your daughters are attacking you is making it hard to look at her the same way. I got really attached to her and Dodo especially, so it felt like a giant stab in the back when I realized all the girls were just acting in their roles the whole time. Barring like, Bill and Lorina who still want to fuck you in monster form I guess. Speaking of which, what was Node even giving birth to? She's a niggerman and seems to be the same individual every loop.
Since the Chick came from the Golden Goose book, does that mean the BS1 Goose is totally dead with zero at revival? Red hints there might be a way to bring your friends back, but Goose seems 6 feet under.

Finally and most importantly, am I a cuckold for waifuing Red "stretched by Poro" Hood?

I'm going to sleep now, so I'll read you calling me a retard or speedreader tomorrow bros

>If Grimm is an amalgamation of souls Leaf mushed together, how does he wake up in the real world in BS2's G ending? He even seems to have his own house. For that matter, who left the note in his house? The only character I can think of is Victoria unless I'm forgetting someone else who calls him "master".
I have two theories for that. The first one is it's the home of one of the authors that make up Grimm. Or at least it was before his soul was yoinked by Leaf. As for the latter part of your question, that's Victoria's letter. It only appears if you had a covenant with Victoria before going into G, if my memory doesn't fail me

>What's the deal with Victoria and her sisters anyway?
I'm not big enough of a lore autist to answer this question. But we'll find out in later games anyway, there's too much foreshadowing for the plot point to be abandoned

>Why do neither she nor Grimm remember him killing her at Hotel Poseidon?
For two different reasons. Red doesn't remember, because it's implied that she's BS1 ending A Red. You know, the one who says something along the lines of "I won't rest until I cut off your head". Note how it's later fulfilled in ending G. As for Grimm - he canonically went through all the BS1 endings, just in different cycles. But remember that he was also mindraped multiple times and, at first, he doesn't even remember who he is at the beginning of BS2. The sight of the Hotel stirs the memories hidden deep within him

>Was it that Leaf used part of Lewis Carroll's soul to make Grimm, and he just retained those memories?
Yes, probably. The Jap and Western fanbase seems to be divided on the topic, but I see no way in which Grimm (forma legion) could've participated in the tea party. It must've been Lewis, taken there by Nyarlathotep, and later stolen by Leaf to make Grimm
>>
>>2791174
>but how/why did it choose that moment to interfere?
Remember the whole deal with Prayer Master? For a niggerman to enter another's Garden, someone from the inside needs to invite them. It was either Grimm or Shub-Niggurath letting TCO in. Or both, perhaps you helping Baphomet out let her unleash her full power, which weakened the Garden's defences. Or something

>Hatter
I'm not sure if you noticed. but her H-scene dialogue isn't complete nonsense, but rather very convoluted foreshadowing. Try to reread it, keeping in mind that. Also, just so you know - Prospero's daughter = Miranda
>what was Node even giving birth to?
No idea. It either wasn't explained, or my lorefu just isn't up to par
>BS1 Goose is totally dead with zero at revival
I sure hope not...

>>2791180
That's TCO getting jealous that you spent too much time lusting after the Wonderland's inhabitants, instead of going to Alice

Also, if you haven't already, I recommend reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking-Glass, Hunting of the Snark and Charles Dodgon's biography. You'll realise just how chock-full of references BS2 really is. It'll also explain some of the more confusing design choices EMMM made, like why Mabel looks so much like Alice (just invert her colours), why exactly is Prickett's character chosen as the guise for Lewis' true love, why Lorina was so desperate to come to Wonderland and more. I recommend Norton Critical Edition, it has all of the afore-mentioned books combined into one

Oh boy, ok, I'm going to try to respond to all of these, but I'm still not a full lorefag so meaby I get things wrong. So:
>If Grimm is an amalgamation of souls Leaf mushed together, how does he wake up in the real world in BS2's G ending? He even seems to have his own house. For that matter, who left the note in his house? The only character I can think of is Victoria unless I'm forgetting someone else who calls him "master".
There are some theories flying around, my take is that it's just the house of Lewis Carroll, or meaby another writer that's part of Grimm. The note is, most likely, from Victoria yeah, altho there are some people speculating that it might be from Little Mermaid but I doubt it
>What's the deal with Victoria and her sisters anyway? They appear and talk normally at 0 SEN, which seems to imply they aren't Wonderland natives at least, but real Vic's dialogue when you first meet her kind of implies she is. Unless succubi can just hop between gardens and the generic enemy ones in 2 are fakes or something
a good TLDR is that TCO took everything from Lost Empire, including the souls of the people from that garden, and moved them to Wonderland, it gave some new roles and it kept others dead to cause Grimm as much pain as possible because he forgot about Alice during BS1. The victoria you meet in BS2 is the same one you meet in BS1, but she doesn't remember anything about (you). The only Victoria you meet is the real one, the one at Lost Empire is also the real one
1/4 meaby?

>From what I can gather, Red was a normal human that Leaf changed into a fairy tale character as proto-Grimm, as opposed to Grimm who was just a mishmash of a few authors, am I mistaken? Why do neither she nor Grimm remember him killing her at Hotel Poseidon?
The Red Hood from BS2 is the one from the B ending in BS1, the one that so to say "escaped" Lost Empire, you killed ending C Hood, and meet ending B Hood in BS2, hence why she thinks you didn't use the hotel yet you do
>I'm kind of unclear about the pre-BS1 timeline. So Grimm was already close to Alice (Prickett (?)) and Prayer Master before getting drawn into Leaf's garden. Was it that Leaf used part of Lewis Carroll's soul to make Grimm, and he just retained those memories?
a TON of people actually argue about this, people can't decide if it was Carroll or Grimm the one that spent time with Alice and the Black Rabbit, but either way the TLDR is that, if it was actually Grimm then Leaf made Grimm, TCO stole Grimm somehow and place it in the tea party, then the Black Rabbit called Mary Sue to separate Alice and Grimm, if it was Carroll it's the same but without the kidnapping part and Leaf creating Grimm after kidnapping Carroll
>BS1 ending D. After 2, I realize that that Alice was the niggerman one and not the one Grimm knew, but how/why did it choose that moment to interfere? Did Baphomet's death have something to do with it? Seeing as this ending leads directly into 2
Yeah it was TCO, there really isn't a specific reason stated as to why it chose that moment precisely, meaby it just finally snapped, meaby Baphomet's sheaningans, meaby it just finally overtook Pricketts consciousnes at that moment...

> I'm also confused as to why Grimm remembers Miranda dying in a way that'd allow her intact corpse to wash up on shore for a ghoul to eat when Leaf just gibbed everyone there.
Again, TCO took everything from Lost Empire and gave it a new role to fuck with Grimm, Miranda appeared dead in Wonderland and Meryphilia ate her, gaining her memories and in a way become Miranda herself. If you speak to her after speaking to Lorina she'll even say how she doesn't really remember a lot of stuff
>On the topic of Miranda, I'm disappointed she got zero interactions with the other BS1 returnees in 2, not even Leaf. Hell, Red was right next to her cave at one point.
There is a bossfight against JubJub, Bandersnatch and Jabber at the same time in ending G where, if you have met miranda and Hein the come in to help you
>Was Elizabeth in 2 the same persona as in 1? Because she doesn't seem to recognize you (or maybe she's still pissed you killed her at the love hotel, I dunno). Again, TCO tinkering with memories, only midfight she remembers who she is and who Red Hood is. Most likely she does remember you by the end of the fight, but well, she was going to die and it was literally the lat moments to have a proper talk with her "daughter"

There's actually a lot of shit the Hatter talks and implies about in her H scenes, altho it's really hard to interpret and there's a FUCKTON of fights about Jabberwock's deal and past
>Speaking of Hatter, jesus christ, her battle dialogue in G ending when all your daughters are attacking you is making it hard to look at her the same way. >If Grimm is an amalgamation of souls Leaf mushed together, how does he wake up in the real world in BS2's G ending?
In case you forgot, BS1 and BS2 almost entirely take place while the characters are dreaming. It's probably safe to assume that the house is where Grimm is sleeping in reality. The unfinished fairy tales on the bookshelf would also make sense if the house was tied to one of the people composing Grimm in some way.
>note
Victoria. She's a succ, entering dreams is kinda what they do.
>Victoria and sisters
As above, they're succs. Demons are an actual faction in BS, though they've been highly glossed over so far. See the Nameless Demon (Leonard) in BS1 for another notable example.
>Red
More or less, though I'd add that she was very likely a college girl before getting Leaf'd.
>Red memories
Red doesn't cycle or seem to have that same connection to GG that Grimm does. From her perspective, it's a straight shot from RHW -> BS1 personal ending where she actually leaves the garden to take the head of the mastermind -> BS2 where she's hunting for the mastermind (TCO's) head. From her perspective, C never happened, though both the player and Grimm know that isn't the case. For extra fun, the egg in Carroll River is highly implied to be a Goose that remembers BS1 C, given her 0 SEN service scene and what's said in the hotel in both games.
>pre-BS1 timeline
There's still some debate about it, but I'm under the strong belief that it was Lewis (pre-Grimm) that got picked up by TCO and brought into the tea party. In any case though, the original tea party absolutely takes place before the events of BS1, hell you even get BS1 NPCs referencing events that took place during it like the execution of the first Red Queen.
1/3?
>>
>>2791632
2/3?
>BS1 D
At this point in time, Mary's garden had largely collapsed, Shub was making some pretty heavy wishes for TCO to be let in (important since invitations are critical for entering gardens for most things), and TCO was already skirting the edges of the garden looking for a way in (as seen next to the bookshelf after beating the Nameless Demon).
>ending fuckery
All endings are canon, that's the best way to think of it. Mabel even alludes to this in DLC 3 with her talking about the timelines merging just before you reach the throne room. If you wanted to guess what ending Miranda's intact corpse came from, I'd assume it would be C, since the garden is still collapsing in that ending. Alternatively, you could say D just used the splat effect as a way to show that they instantly died and the corpse was somehow still intact, but that seems a bit too lazy on EMMM's part for him to do. She also dies in her personal ending, but I don't see any real way for her corpse to leave the garden in that ending.
>>2791178
>Miranda
Miranda gets a little scene with Hein in the reverse route, but that's about it.
>returning fairy tales
Yes, they're the same ones. Node's comments about you bringing peace to them by booking them and slapping them back on the shelves might be worth considering here.
>Am I missing anything important about Wonderland as we see it in 1?
Besides it being ripped from the original tea party, with numerous people there having been there at the tea party? Not particularly, at least off the top of my head. I wouldn't worry too much about how to reach it, and just chalk it up to Mary's hack job at creating the world.
>>
>>2791634
3/3 for the moment, gotta go to work so I'll be back later.

>Speaking of which, what was Node even giving birth to?
As seen in Winterbell, the March Hare and Mary (forma de rabbit whore (bar)) are almost certainly her children, since all of your other kids are there. They also share her obsession with sex, hilariously enough.
>Goose
See my previous statement about the egg in Carroll River.
>>2791180
>Dormouse
Sleeping makes her susceptible to niggermen, in this case it would seem to be TCO's influence with the rape dungeon scene. Very much worth noting that you wake up in her cell in H though, probably to draw more parallels between Hatta/Hare/Dormouse and Alice(TCO)/Black Rabbit/Lewis.

>The daughter of phantasmagoria prospero, deprived of her future. At her side the fallen shadow of the sun, or is it Theophilus licking mercury even after death
I still have 0 fucking clue what she meant by this
>>
>>2791720
>daughter of Prospero
Miranda
>deprived of her future
She's dead, Meryphilia took her place
>phantasmagoria
Most likely an epithet, think Light-footed Achilles or Pallas Athena

I no bloody idea what the rest of this means
>>
>>2791720
The first sentence seems straightforward, that Miranda, the daughter of Prospero, is deprived of her future on account of being dead for real. Regarding the second sentence, I would think "at her side" must therefore be referring to something close to her, which might refer to the Corpse Eater who took her identity, Hein who appears with her in G, or possibly Grimm.
The "fallen shadow of the sun" seems too difficult to pinpoint immediately, so let's focus on the second part.
Theophilius most likely refers to Theophilius of Adana, who made a contract with a devil, regretted it, and died satisfied after a bishop freed him from the contract. "Licking mercury" is confusing, but I think it can be read in one of two ways.
1: Continuing to "poison" yourself by an action that's obviously bad for you
2: A reference to the actual origin of the phrase "mad hatter", which stemmed from hat makers being poisoned by mercury while doing their work iirc

If we consider that, I think one possibility is that it simply refers to Meryphilia, who's continuing Miranda's work and staining her soul even after Miranda finally died. Remember that in BS1's bad A ending, Miranda basically died from exhaustion/overwork. That answer seems kind of boring though since it's kind of easy to find out about Meryphilia.

Is there a certain implication behind Goose and Gerda's fairy tale books not being consistent? In Goose's case, Golden Goose and The Goose That Laid The Golden Egg are two similar-sounding but completely different stories. And Gerda can wind up as either The Snow Queen or The Snow Girl, also similar-sounding yet different tales. Did Mary Sue's ability of change lightly "rub off" on some characters, giving them the capacity to change themselves? It wouldn't be the first time Mary Sue fucked up when using her power, especially given Red Hood was supposed to have died at the end of her first tale and Sleeping Beauty was written out of BS1 because of being unable to fix the issue with her mimicking Azathoth. Will such an implication play a larger role in 3, with Grimm accidentally granting multiple heroines the power to change fate by cumming in them with his newly obtained change powers?

Red's origin has yet to be explained in full. Most likely, she was a normal girl attending university in the real world before being kidnapped by Leaf. In RHW and BS1, the Alarune boss says she remembers Red from before and states they attended school together. In BS2, Red notes that she feels nostalgic while standing outside the University and doesn't understand why.

Now, why Leaf picked Red in particular is unknown. But Leaf is responsible for kidnapping her from reality and placing her in Leaf's 'prototype' Empire. Leaf is also the reason Red is a terrifying killing machine - She originally intended for Red to die a pathetic death, but decided that was too boring and juiced her up so she could suffer more. The problem with that is that Leaf is a shortsighted idiot god who didn't consider the idea that a juiced up Red would also be strong enough to rebel against her control.

So in a sense Leaf did 'create' Red. Elizabeth had nothing to do with her - Leaf edited Elizabeth's tale to make her Red's mother because of Elizabeth's habit of bathing in the blood of young girls. What Red likely means when she's holding Grimm's hand is that one of the authors inside Grimm was the original writer of her fairy tale, most likely either Charles Perrault or the Brothers Grimm. Either way, she loves Grimm above all others by the end of BS2, declaring she wants a child with him and that no one else would do, and later refusing to leave TCO's collapsing garden without him. Grimm seems to reciprocate her feelings given that he willingly sacrifices himself at the climax of Ending H in the hope she'll escape, and once he's freed from TCO he finds her again and stays by her deathbed until her story ends. EMMM has also said she'll get a 'honeymoon' scene with Grimm in Dead Red Hood, though how that'll play out or how it would be possible at all is currently unclear.

Regardless, Red is best girl.

>>
>>2791889

>>
why did none of the bs1 girls ever get pregnant when grimm's been breeding the abominations in 2 successfully every single cycle?
>>
>>2791889
Yes, but to what extent was that Mary Sue pulling at her mind too? Her body and mind are disjointed in a weird way, with her body getting wet for and even seeming to orgasm in one scene for Grimm, yet with her still saying she can't feel anything. Doesn't that seem almost physically unnatural, even with her having fucked Poro? She even tells you she wants to be able to enjoy sex with you, and puts in her best effort to that end.
Yet she still can't even recognize it when her body has orgasmed.
>>
>>2791888
I'm probably misremembering the BS1 part, but the relevant information is in RHW at least.

>>2791889
Sure, in RHW and probably BS1, and she did that because Leaf found it amusing to twist her desires that way. In BS2 she's entirely focused on Grimm as soon as she meets him again, and in DRH EMMM has already said Poro will now be the anti-rape police instead.

>>2791903
It's a little odd LeafToro said you can "clear the virginity" with Red in DRH. It's probably just entirely a metaphor for clearing the game without fucking, but it makes me wonder if something extra special is present.
On a side note, do you think Poro will also be able to prevent Grimm from having any sex with Red on their honeymoon?
>>
>>2791905

>>2791903
What I found really weird is that Toro mentioned that you can also rape in this game. It seems very out of character for Red to want to rape someone.
>>
>>2791908
I would imagine that 'clear the virginity' just means you can do a 'virgin' run in DRH by never losing and never choosing to rape anyone. Maybe it'll have a special reward for doing so, but I doubt there's any other particular meaning to it. I also doubt Poro would prevent Grimm from having sex with her, since in all likelihood that would be a consensual encounter and Poro is apparently just a mechanic to prevent the player from seeing GoR scenes they don't want to witness.

>>2791911
To be fair, we don't know what Red's state of mind is in DRH yet. She certainly seems depressed at least, going by the art EMMM has released so far. It could also be that EMMM didn't want the only scenes to be GoR and Grimm's honeymoon scene, but until the game is out we won't know for sure why Red would start raping people, or how she'd act during the scene.

Red develops a lot as a character through RHW, BS1 and BS2, her interactions with Grimm actually change her view about the world a lot. Cosidering the "crieman graveyard" and the war scene and all that I guessed that at some point between 1853-1856, but at the same time that doesn't make sense because this for sure happens after the irl Alice Liddell dies, so it has to be at least after 1934
>>
>>2792221
I've got some theories.
First is that since real world people and events exist and happened in the Black Souls setting then the timeline should mirror real history mostly up to a certain point. At least through Lewis Carrolls life so around 1898.
Second is that real world works of fiction from Lovecraft exist in Black Souls as non fiction entities. So here we have at least one major deviation from real world timeline, (but it potentially could pull something like Lovecraft still wrote everything he did and everyone considers them fiction and treats them like we do despite them being 100% facts) but if it is a deviation Lovecraft was active starting around 1917 giving a branching off point.
Putting these together we can guess that niggermen started getting active and interacting with people and the world or scaling up their interactions with kidnappings sometime between 1898 and 1917
I forget if it says how long Grimm has spent in BS1 and 2. However it shouldn't matter as time is being reset at the end of a cycle and people outside a garden at the end get reset back in too so the time reset affects the real world too rewinding time so the real world passed only a short amount of time during Grimms long struggle.

Grimm's noted to be an extremely special case with his soul being so closely linked to GG, Mabel mentions it's why he got drawn back into the garden after reaching reality in G. It's not something that happens to everyone. Red especially wouldn't make sense to be reset back into the garden since it'd conflict with BS1's A and D ending for her, she's already beyond the reach of Mary's power and out of the garden when Mary summons all of the girls post-Shub.

its also possible that the flow of time itself is convoluted

Regarding Dorothy: was she actually originally a man or did she just LARP hard enough that she tricked herself into believing that? If you try to kill her at Hotel Poseidon, she goes a little crazy and rambles about how she just needs to hold onto her name Dorothy even when transcending forms, and the mental institution in 2 seems to allude to a real life Dorothy who somehow found her way into the world of fairy tales (this part I didn't really understand too well, but is it like, the "real" world in the setting never had a book called Wizard of Oz, and Dorothy turned into that book?)

Where is that said? All I remember is Node saying that she banished her to a place where she'll fall for eternity, nothing about her leaving the garden itself. You could make an assumption that she tries to escape in the reverse route/H as the garden collapses (like Mary tries to), but there's little ingame to offer concrete evidence of that.
>Red in BS2 doesn't know other loops of BS2 and resets too.
>>2792777
>Red absolutely resets back since we see her go from one arm to both after ending G resets
Like I said, Red resetting the same way Grimm does makes no sense to me. Not only would it go against what we see in BS1 A and D, it'd go against what we see in BS2 G/H as well.
>but it's not confirmed that she's missing an arm in H/no evidence of Poro being dead
Is there any other reason why she wouldn't call for, or even mention Poro in H or hold on to Grimm with both arms when she's perfectly willing to fall into [H]ell with him? The Red we see in H being from a previous post-G clear is the only thing that makes any sense to me given both of those things, especially with her talking about not wanting to lose you again.
>>

You're somewhat closer to the mark than you might think. It's more because of the time she spent at the tea party with Lewis that caused her to grow as an individual, unlike the rest of the collective.

It doesn't matter about the arm in H. She loses her arm in G and then you can reset and do G three more times. She resets. There is no other way around this.
>>
>>2793054
>It doesn't matter about the arm in H.
Yes, it does. Her missing an arm in H means that she's from a post-G timeline. The events of G do not happen in H, H's ending is a completely different garden timeline than G's ending. TCO being alive and well in H should be proof enough of that, as it's death in G is the reason why the garden collapses in that ending. The only way this works is if she wasn't drawn back into the garden just like she wasn't in BS1 when she left the garden in her ending and wasn't drawn back in by Mary in D.
>>
>>2793060
So you just ignoring she has both arms or what? Her missing an arm is a theory but fact of the matter is she has her arm back after G resets

1/?
To start with, we know that Red does not perceive cycles like Grimm does in either game. Now, why the fuck am I bringing this up now? It's because Grimm knows about the cycles thanks to his soul's deep ties to Mary's power to change, ties so strong that it's enough to force him back into the same garden as said power in BS2 after he leaves it (very important to keep in mind). We know that for a fact thanks to what Mabel says in DLC 3.
At the same time, we have at least one hard, canonical confirmation of the same not applying to Red in BS1 and another very likely instance in BS2. Red leaves Mary's garden in BS1 in her personal ending, and when Mary's doing her roundup of all the heroines in D, Red isn't there. We also know that the Red in BS2 comes from her personal ending in BS1, due to her aiming for the head of the mastermind matching what's said in BS1. If Red's soul shared the same kind of ties to Mary's power to change that Grimm does, she 1) would not be able to leave, or at least stay out of the garden even close to long enough to do what she wants in her personal ending (or her upcoming game, for that matter), and more importantly 2) would be recalled back into the garden and then promptly splatted by Mary in BS1 D the same exact way Grimm is recalled into the garden by GG in BS2 G, as it's the same exact power being used in both instances.

The main question I think should be asked here given the above is how the fuck do cycles/GG work exactly?
>>
>>2793375
2/?
We know that the cycles are a direct result of what GG does, as it's Mary's power to change given physical form. It's why the cyclebreaker endings in the series are BS1 D (as Mary is interrupted by TCO just before she can use her power and remake her garden) and BS2 H (as you destroy GG itself). Technically, merging with GG in BS2 H is also a cyclebreaker ending, as is losing to Mary in BS1 C (where she gets rid of Grimm for good, having surpassed her inspirations in her eyes and aims to succeed Grimm as a writer/creator), but those lead to timelines where Azathoth wakes up and are outside of the scope of what I'm talking about here.
The cycles in both games are signified by a set point in time being used as the starting point for the time loops. In BS1 it's just after you join up with Mary Sue, and in BS2 it's right as the prologue starts. These points are inviolable once set (thus far) outside of the usage of the power itself being interrupted, or another point in time being set by whoever is using the power. Once a point in time is designated as the starting point for a cycle, the internal state of the garden will revert to the exact same state as when it was taken, in essence you can almost consider this to be a save-state of the garden. As is typical of time looping shit, from the point of the observers of these cycles, they have all taken place (TCO, Mabel, Node, and Mary are good examples, Grimm too but he's a special case for many reasons), but from the point of those affected by the cycles virtually nothing has changed.
>>
>>2793376
3/?
That said, just because those affected by the cycles generally don't notice the cycles happening, that doesn't mean the events of each time loop plays out exactly the same. This should be readily apparent by the fact that different endings even exist in the series in the first place. There's other things too, but the most important of them is Mabel talking about the timelines merging in DLC 3. Each time loop inside of the garden creates another internal timeline of events for the garden that can be broadly categorized into the various endings that we see, with the main divergence point for these events being the set cycle point. Each and every last one of these timelines and the events therein take place canonically, and eventually collapse into one gigantic clusterfuck of supposedly contradictory canon. By the way, if you're interested in what EMMM seems to be lifting a lot of this concept from, look up "Dragon Breaks", and probably give "Numidium" a quick look as well. Regardless though, this is why Red remembers her personal ending instead of dying in C (or Grimm even using the Hotel at all), or fighting Shub in D, as from her perspective this is the only course of events that have taken place. Same for the chick in Carroll River (Goose) that seems to remember BS1 C instead of something like her personal ending, or fighting Shub and getting splatted by Mary.
>>
>>2793379
4/?
Now what the fuck does this have to do with G/H/the start of each BS2 cycle? The basic idea is that when GG reverts the in-garden timeline back to the set point in time (cycles the garden and restarts BS2's prologue), it's a point where Red is already in the garden being led by Node, looking for TCO, and still has both arms (and Poro). Given how you enter the reverse route along with Red suddenly losing track of where the rabbit she was following went (the one that she cites for leading her into Wonderland and saving her a few times before she entered it when you talk to her in the Rabbit Hole), it's safe to assume that it chronologically takes place during this prologue. It'd also explain Node's absence from the Library Dream until PL1 as well. In garden timelines where Grimm doesn't meet Red in the reverse route (AKA the A through E endings), Red eventually winds up in Lutwidge, and depending on progress level and/or Grimm's SEN, ends up meeting him then. In any timeline where Grimm is able to meet Red in the reverse route, it'll either result in her death (F) or in her losing an arm, a dog, and hitting reality (G) instead. At this point in G, Grimm is sucked back into Wonderland thanks to his ties to GG, with the in-garden timeline being just after the prologue (AKA too late to meet Red in the reverse route again and as such in this garden timeline she's making her way towards Lutwidge, fitting what GG wants since it wants to break free from the garden with Grimm instead of him just breaking free with Red) but just before the main story of the play starts. Basically, a G ending will always lead to Grimm being drawn back in from reality and placed by GG into an in-garden timeline where F/G will be impossible that cycle, and because F/G are impossible the in-garden Red will ALWAYS have both arms when you meet her at 0 SEN that cycle due to not being able to meet Grimm in the reverse route.
>>
>>2793380
5/5?
This doesn't mean that the events of G didn't happen or anything stupid like that like some people say. Repeating myself again, just like we know BS1 C happened and that BS2 Red came from her BS1 A ending despite the events of A and C being mutually exclusive to each other from Red's perspective, we know that all garden timelines are canon and eventually merge into one (thanks again for that, Mabel). As for Red's links to GG, there's essentially none that have been established in any way, shape or form, and especially important any that would mimic what Grimm's relationship to it is, and as such nothing that should result in Red being involuntarily drawn back in like Grimm or somehow explaining a complete lack of memory for previous G endings (something even a fresh 100 SEN Grimm can manage). We've seen that Mary's power to change has at least some limits on range and/or ability thanks to BS1 D, and there's no reason to believe that such a thing has changed in BS2 either, with it being unable to get Red outside of the garden in BS1 and Red being outside of the garden again post-G. This post-G Red would have ample reason to head back in and try to get the suddenly vanished Grimm (who is experiencing the latter parts of H from his perspective at this point when she shows up) back from a rapidly collapsing garden, as from her perspective she already accomplished her goal of taking down TCO in G, while also just losing the other most important being in her life and knowing that she doesn't have long at all to live either, and as such would have good reason to not want to separate from Grimm again no matter what would happen to the both of them.
I'm sure I'm forgetting shit but I'll read it when I wake up.

While rings are usually deeply tied to the person they're associated with, I don't think it's a hard requirement for the soul of the person itself to be used in their creation, otherwise you start running into some questions with shit like Leaf's and Prickett's ring. We're told that the Carpenter constructed the house, and honestly I doubt that he would have gone full flesh mall and used the corpse and/or soul of one of his closest friends in the construction of a gravesite for said friend. There's also the question of why Prayer Master would actually attack you even if you assume that his soul is somehow animating the house there, everything we've seen from him indicates that he severely regrets betraying Lewis and Alice and wants to go back to the good old days with them.

What line are you thinking of exactly? As far as I can remember with my sleep deprived brain, Red does know who Mary is, she just treats Mary with contempt and disdain.
>How the fuck did Red came back to Wonderland?
How Red managed to get into Wonderland is something I actually expect to see addressed in DRH. We know Node is absolutely critical for saving her life a few times in the time gap between BS1 and BS2, and that Node is the one responsible for bringing her into Wonderland in BS2, we just don't know exactly how all that went down.
>>
>>2793784
Oh wait, came BACK as in H. Once again, I'm going to assume Node is responsible. She does appear immediately at GG's location once you defeat it, and she's already guided Red into the garden once before. Her doing it again doesn't seem out of the question to me.

The Reverse path to F/G after the 3 Nightmares. She says something along the lines of "Grimm, you, you know that thing?" as if the mere concept of it was shocking which is really surprising, since she should know her and that Grimm knows her.. Unless Leaf and Mary look that different from each others.

Yes. Game balance isn't EMMM's selling point so far. BS2 takes a bit longer to break than BS1 does, but when it breaks it arguably breaks far harder than BS1 ever did. Luckily DLC 3 is designed around this to some degree. If you end up finding BS2 to be too easy, you can always try a SL1 run with no colored souls being used, the entire game has been beaten like that and at Difficulty 9 to boot.

First of all, as you might have noticed, item use is free. This means that you can keep buffs (ATK, resins) up all the time. And heal yourself up to full. Which ties into a certain status effect - madness. This status effect massively increases your damage, but causes you to lose 50% of your max HP every turn. Which is a non-issue, as the damage tick cannot kill you, and you can heal yourself to full every turn
You can also get a very handy spell, phalanx, if you explore Rabbit Hole carefully
If you find equipment, which increases your number of actions per turn, use it. It allows you for weapon switching (use weapon skill->switch to a different weapon->use a different skill), which is a great mechanic. Experiment with it. Oh, and of course crit is great
For defensive use, level up knight's sword to max. Bunker shield is also a decent option, though you'll have to use a shield instead of a gun (free attack)
>>
>>2793876
Thanks for the advice, I've been kinda experimenting with weapon swapping by using the gun reload skill and swapping to the vorpal sword. As for the madness thing, thanks a lot. I actually did not know that at all

I lost my old BS2 savefile, there's some stuff I want to try out but I don't want to grind everything again from 0.
What's the best way to cheat to get items and such?

>Leaf is also just as important as a character to Grimm as she is to Red.

I don't think that's the case after BS2. Grimm is beyond her by that point and his next goal is to stop the war between the Outer Ones to prevent the Idiot from waking up. He's got bigger fish to fry and bigger threats to worry about. There's also the problem of Grimm having GG's power now - without her ability to create, Leaf is just one more evil god among many, and almost all of the ones still standing are significantly stronger than her.

Even Red is more focused on saving Grimm than hunting down Leaf by ending G. They both take the opportunity to kill her once it presents itself of course, but before that Red was investigating TCO and Grimm's condition, along with her own past. Slitting Leaf's throat was a side objective at best. Red didn't even seem to know Leaf was in Wonderland until she teleported in front of her.

I'm sure Leaf will be back in some fashion in BS3, but I don't see what role she'd play in DRH, which is about Lindamea and his reconstituted group of murder hobos. If DRH takes place between BS1 and BS2, Leaf is cooling her heels in Prickett's timeout for bad fairies dungeon. If DRH takes place after BS2, she'd have to fight Grimm to kidnap Red again, and Grimm would pulp her on sight.
>>
>>2793956
Reminder that no one, absolutely no one, wanted Leaf close to her, being content to never mention her ever again. Including her own fucking power
.
Scratch that, Red didn't even seemed to know Leaf period, weird.
>>

That's not true, given she blatantly namedropped "Mary Sue" when talking to her.

Are Miranda and Hein still trapped in Wonderland? They didn't go to Winterbell and Grimm doesn't seem to think about them at all after escaping in G and getting drawn back in for H.

Great explanation. Just one thing I think you got wrong.
I don't believe that losing to Mary in C is a cyclebreaker. If you go back to do her A ending after doing C she explains how all of ending C is just another version of the story, where she loses. She has no intention of releasing you in any of the endings I doubt that change because she managed to beat you. I'm fairly certain she just wrote it off as a BAD END.
>>
>>2793641
I mean you could say that for most of the characters. It's entirely possible to go your first cycle without encountering Prickett for example
>>
>>2793606
Last update was at the end of August. EMMM said he'd be pretty sparse with info after that. It's RDH is expected to drop by the end of the year
>>
>>2794038
I really am so curious what EMMM's gonna do for 3. So far the past 2 games had a really heavy focus on replaying over and over until you finally get the real ending. It's practically the signature and I doubt he'd wanna just stop doing it. But I can't see a situation in the story to justify Grimm being cycled again. He's been a niggerman toy this whole time 3 will be the first time he's in control of himself.
>>
>>2793603
>>2793603
>but maybe the possibility that >>2790989 "Sister Emerald" is Leaf would hint towards it being PROBABLY after BS2.
I mean, the chances are veeery slim.
On top of all the facts I provided as evidence, there's the other obvious one.
You do know how BS2 ends, don't you?
>>
i see no point in arguing about sequel prequel stuff for now, emmm clearly wants to make it not clear what is it
>>
>>2794186
>I don't believe that losing to Mary in C is a cyclebreaker.
I mean, you can run it yourself. You don't get cycled or booted back to the Holy Forest after dying to Mary Sue, you get a rare Game Over screen and get booted back to the title screen. She seems plenty willing to get rid of you for good considering what she says and does (including removing Grimm's undeath) immediately beforehand, and even says farewell once she kills Grimm. Outside of entering your name during vessel creation (where we know they just immediately mindwipe Grimm and try again) the only other times those endings show up is when Grimm is either totally out of commission or is in a state where he's unable to stop the upcoming niggerman war as far as I can remember.
>>
>>2794108
Currently it's unclear what became of them. Hein is a demon and demons play by their own rules when it comes to gardens. So far they don't seem to feature in DRH, and who knows what that means. Maybe we'll get more info on them once DRH is out, but until then we have nothing to go on regarding their fate. Though personally I doubt EMMM would kill Miranda off screen for real as she's one of his favorites.

Easy, GG wants to join with Grimm so it can create things, which Grimm seems to be able to do in BS1 Ending C before Leaf yeet him back (assuming it's not Leaf fucking with all the way). GG also has time related power.
So we got an explanation for Creation and NG+.

I don't know about that. Grimm obviously has the creativity required to create, but the actual ability to do so should be beyond his means up until the very end of H. Mary Sue absolutely mindfucked all of the authors to get their souls to settle down into Grimm in the first place, and from what Mabel and the Hotel says that's essentially destroyed their ability to create shit.

Hein panics when he realizes you invited Baphomet to the Holy Forest though, because he realizes the world is about to end and there's nowhere to run
Somehow he survived getting dragged into Wonderland when TCO took over, but demons are definitely a tier below the pillow fights between niggermen. Hein's also the only one who got seriously wounded between him, Grimm, and Miranda while fighting onee-chan, so I don't think he's strong enough to move between gardens that easily
Makes you wonder why he appeared in Mabel's prophecy

Everybody seems to assume Grimm will kill Mary on sight, but as the choices in the Fairy Jail and the whole of Ending F suggest, you can't say that for sure.
I suspect EMMM may have a different idea of how the inevitable Mary confrontation is going to take place, rather than the obvious Grimm commits matricide.

Theres a book about her twin in the Chaos Dungeon library.
Apparently Leaf threw her sister into the "gears" whatever they might be, implying that she killed the twin.

If you look deep enough Mary's actually a pretty sad character. Even with all the bullshit she pulled and continues to do I can't help but feel a LITTLE sad for her. I honestly belive something will happen in BS3 that'll force Mary to sacrifice herself to help Grimm. She'll go out in typical Leaf fassion, shouting how she's doing this to fuck with people and all that and not ouf of kindness or anything
>>
>>2794395
So if it was Leaf who was crushed, GG was originally a separate entity from Leaf and they combined instead of her dying?
