Gen Xers made the game.

What's so bad about Monty Python besides being british

I sometimes try to understand what it's like for you younger people to have your perception of culture oriented around reddit and I can't really grok it. Must suck though.

You answered your own question

It's always been a part of the humor in Fallout. You can kill Deputy Kenny in the Hub, and you will get a terminal message to the effect of "Oh my God, you killed Kenny!" Cheezy Poofs are a real in game item. Referential humor plays well with geeks, so give them what they want.
>>
Such so'y. Man imagine if Obsidian made another Fallout game, it'd be Redditwitter: The Game. Instead of a mediocre and lazily made game made for retarded kids, it'd be a game where you'd get Twitter political agenda and reddit dialogue
>>
They should make a Fallout game that's based 4chan instead of cringe Reddit
>>
>>2092230
I don't think they'll be allowed to make a game where every word is 'nigger'
>>
>>2092238
Need to make an NVSE mod that replaces all lines of dialogue with "nigger". Bonus if it uses that dialogue splicer application to make the VA's actually say it.
>>
>>2091965
Still better than zoomer humor which consists of videos of retards yelling nigger at the top of their lungs.

>"THEY'RE COMING OUT OF THE WALLS"
Are you talking about the battle of hoover dam, because the legion drops in right on top of the NCR through the intake tunnels, hence the "Theyre coming out of the walls" reference. The legate explains this in the legion playthrough
>"In the past, the NCR has relied upon attrition, withering our numbers with ranged fire and falling back as necessary."
>"Not this time. The dam contains tunnels to its heart, overlooked by the NCR... now occupied by the Legion."
>"When the battle begins, the NCR will find our teeth at their throats in a dozen places. There will be no attrition, no falling back, only carnage."

Faster. Very few ammunation types like MC bulk or .38 rounds make weapons degrade slower, and they do less damage.

I think the "Millennial humor" part is involves the references to these things as hipster pop culture in-jokes, not the things themselves.

A Handful of areas had events that would trigger if you picked the perk as well as several Dialogue options exclusive to it. One example is the strip where if you go to an Alleyway at night a gang of Old Ladies attack you.
>>
>>2093467
How did you miss it? Any time you wandered into something that did not and would not seem out of place in Fallout, suddenly a prompt appeared in the corner and the musical equivalent of canned-laughter on a sitcom would play to let you know you were witnessing a joke and to laugh at it.

Sometimes people want different experiences from games. Games should offer some different experiences. Some games are grimdark experiences and perhaps they should make it a good grimdark experience first. Some games are supposed to be funny, and they probably shouldn't have an hour stretch where there is no humor at all. Some games are meant to be for kids and so they shouldn't have a bunch of scenes of pornography or brutal realistically depicted torture.

But sure, nothing prevents there from being humor in a grimdark game like Fallout. There's a lot of intentional contrast between cartoony and innocent looking Fallout Boy, the weird references here and there, and the overall grim dark game. Maybe some humor and levity makes the dark parts feel darker?

I played a couple of times with this. Almost all of the "jokes" went right over my head. I wish Fallout was more serious and played up the grimmer aspects of a post-apocalyptic wasteland instead of the cartoony 1950's steampunk stuff.

Nothing is wrong with Monty Python, those who dislike it are contrarians of the highest order who will die alone without ever experiencing a significant amount of joy in their lifes again due to their extreme cynicism.

I prefer the Hunting Shotgun to the Riot Shotgun. It's more accurate, is less overpowered and has a good feeling to it. Loading the shells one by one feels nice.

>>

"reference humor" is basically virtue signaling

That's why the true antipathic incel loser selfdoxxes by making references to popular shit like Monty Python & the Holy Grail. They literally think "this is a rare film that ONLY cool people watch". Everyone on the planet has seen that movie retard.

If someone references something left-field and rare, like Excel Saga or Antrum or The Geraldine Fibbers, then it's ok because you're testing the waters to see who won't just blankly stare at you.

But if you act like "Star Wars" is a barely known cult film, then you are clearly a lonely loser and should kys.
>>
>wasting a trait for this
nah
>>
>>2110028
Calling back to classical themes is something inherent to man, it's just that millennials are soulless husks produced by a dying society. The only thing they can do is a glib facsimile of culture
>>
>>2110028
Star Wars used to be a barely-known cult film before Disney bought it up.
>>
>>2110028
References are subcultural secret handshakes, it's just that most subcultures are widely dispersed now through technological advances in mass communication. It's a small world, after all.

Never seen Flying Circus, so maybe the show is based, but the movies are incredibly overrated. Life of Brian's gags run too long and many aren't funny, Meaning of Life is way too British, and Holy Grail is retroactively made way worse than it otherwise would be by being quoted endlessly by every annoying uncle at thanksgiving.
>>
>>2110221

Stop liking Fallout: New Vegas. You're not allowed to like it now that it's passed the threshold of being popular. Same thing with STALKER and Dark Souls.

But they play exactly the same. The only thing NV has on FO3 is maybe the ammo system, and that was half-assed and incomplete vanilla. Otherwise it might actually be worse, because the speech skill check thresholds in NV were atrocious and CHA was still entirely useless as an attribute over the paramount OP skill points.

This. A basic reference to Star Trek, anyone will get. Specifically referencing both TOS and the TNG episode with Scotty in it by having a character describe a whiskey they can't identify with "it's....it's green" is a secret handshake.

I disagree and consider that trait essential to always be used, mainly because the FONV worldspace is boring as fuck and horribly designed (empty except for designated hostile zones where enemy threads are dense as shit). The gameworld is designed like a fucking MMO and it's shit. Wild Wasteland atleast sprinkles some events here and there in it.
