Avellone is an overhyped loser, all the games you credit him with were made with a host of other people involved and on his own he wouldn't create anything worthwhile. Amusingly enough this is the most democratic process we've probably ever seen (and I use 'democracy' as a neutral term, not a positive one like Americans do).You can only lawyer up if it truly is a he-said-she-said situation (AngryJoe) OR if the receipts favor you (ProJared). Chris fucked up by failing a speech check on texts and looking pathetic apologizing/admitting it on Twitter. That's enough red flags for devs to not want to be involved with him anymore. Whether the story of his accusers have inconsistencies or not doesn't matter at that point.He probably could have still lawyered up but I don't know why he didn't (he claimed to have enough 'fuck you' money to talk shit about Obsidian on RPGCodex, so that was clearly a lie).Since these cancellations have been sexual by nature, here are my tips: don't be cringe, if you're gonna text be matter of fact/emotionless, have a witness with you at all times, keep receipts for everything (flight tickets, hotel arrivals, cabs taken, etc)It's fucked up we have to live this way but we have to adapt to it.
