What games do you remember to be different than they were when you replayed them?
honestly, probably most of them. arcade games especially, since I never went to the arcade regularly and happened to remember the games differently even when I went to school the next day. I remember double dragon as more violent, with blood and no slowdown when I was telling my friends about it
>>9934339This, though mostly because you didn't play that shit at home and have time to absorb everything like a home console game.

There's a game called Caveman Games. It was on the NES and PC. When I was 6, I played it on the Genesis with one of my friends. Many years later, I found out that no such port exists
In the late 90s my mom gave me a copy of sonic and knuckles for Christmas. It was a plain cart with no lockon feature. I had it into adulthood when it disappeared from my possessions at some point. Apparently there were no copies of sonic and knuckles without the lockon feature.
>>9934376That's the Chinese version, you know, like Mikey Mouse and Super Mary Bros.
>>9934217I don’t remember Zidane having a tail for some reason
>>9934696That's like when my mom bought me Golden Axe III for the Genesis, but if you check now they say it never got released in the USA. But I did have it and it was an American release. My mother had no knowledge of how to get Japanese imports back then, and I just wanted American carts/CDs.

Kazaam on sega genesis
>>9935278It was released on sega channel in the US, you sure it wasn't just that you played it on that?
>>9934217Only one that stands out to me is the N64 version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. My friend rented a lot of Blockbuster games and we both have the same memory of playing this when he rented it for his n64, problem is, it never came out on the 64. I had memories of the game identical to how it plays, even remembered the noises the Whos make in it. For years i searched for the 64 version, thinking maybe it was a Blockbuster exclusive, but nope, it just never existed at all for it. In fact my friend was even confused when i told him it didn't exist.

there was a wolfman you could recruit into your party in FFIII/FF6. i remember watching my cousin playing the game with him as an added character into it from the official rom. ended up playing the game years later recognising the same wolf but even more confused when you couldn't add him to your party. looked up online to see maybe my cousin was playing a romhack or something.cousin doesn't remember it, and no romhack ever existed of a wolfman ever being in your party.

Only somewhat related to /vr/ but as a kid my family went on a cruise, this was in early 1995 and there I made a friend who we talked gaming and cartoons. He one day told me he had played a computer game called "who killed Mr. Burns?" and that it was a fun game and in the end the killer was Maggie who sot Mr. Burns. Months later was the premier of the episode who shot Mr Burns part 1 and when Part 2 came out I realized my friend had been correct. I just assumed there was a PC game I didn't know about but thanks to the internet years later I realized that game does not exist. >>9934376There were 1 or 2 misprints iirc, where the publisher fucked up. I was 11 at the time of this btw. She explained the gameplay (A to jump, B to dash, etc...) and I moved on with playing the demo. Ever since then I have never been able to find a person or demo to prove this existed. >>9939147I know the answer to this one. Hype was strong for Sunshine among the Nintendo fan circles/forums/chats at the time and everyone kept talking about Shine Get and used it as early memes. When the game came out and fans saw that it didn't have the phrase and it had been corrected, well somewhat so it wouldn't be gramatically incorrect. Fans were upset including me but people just end up forgetting and moved on but yeah it was a big deal. you were likely in those communities or just remember it from a magazine, I'm sure the screenshot of the phrase was in previews from EGM/Nintendo Power/GameFan etc.

The Mandela effect isn't real, it's always a case of people remembering things wrong because the way they remember it makes a lot of sense, even if it was never canon.People believed Pikachu's tail has a black tip because that way it would match his black-tipped ears.People thought the Berenstain Bears were called Berenstein because -stein is a very common ending to many Germanic names unlike -stain.People thought the Monopoly man had a monocle cause, I mean, look at him. It suits him perfectly.>but I actually have a copy of this thing where it really is the way I remember it!That just means that some artist made a mistake cause he was also suffering from the same misconception that you were suffering from.Again, it's not unlikely that someone would screw up and think that Pikachu's tail had a black tip, so it could have made its way into official merch at some point.

>>9952978>fairly strong>>9952679As rad as alternate timelines and shit are, everybody in this thread is just misremembering things from 20+ years ago. Hence, memory confabulation.
The Mandela Effect is interesting as a concept, but it gets fucking retarded once anybody brings up parallel universes or other nonsense. It's a concept that illustrates the effects of memory being imperfect and how ideas spread (often not perfectly) between people before things like the internet. But any time the conversation gets interesting, some retards always talk about nonsense like "there's no possible way I could be misremembering, I must have come from a different universe".
>>9953970Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth. Just because you think it's impossible that parrellel universes exist, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. My memory is very sharp, as a matter of fact I remember JIF, not Jiffy because of the line "choosey moms choose Jif", then I changed that line using my name because I have relationships with MILFs. My memory is so sharp that, I remember the first video game I've beatened was Double Dragon 2 for the NES. I also remember clear as day my dad buying me a Sega Genesis at a Sears, after selling my NES to get it. Which is how I ended up becoming a Sonic fan at 9-years-old. I remember old passwords I used for e-mails. If I see something off, it sticks out like a sore thumb, like 3-CPO's leg being silver instead of gold. I remember him being all gold, which was the coolest part about him. But now with the silver leg, I don't feel like buying his action figure. I don't think I came from a different reality, I think our reality merged with an alternate reality because of CERN.
>>9954039Anon, shut the fuck up. No matter what nonsense you spew, there is no chance that it is a parallel universe. Your memory is faulty, end of story.
>>9953970I don't believe at all that anyone here somehow crossed over from a parallel universe, but as the posts here showed not everyone was mis-remembering. In some cases it was apparently a beta demo at a kiosk or something similar.
I honestly thought there was like 15 Mario games made for the NES, because of having a pirate multicart full of hacked ROMs with their protagonists' graphics sprite-swapped to feature Mario bundled with my Famiclone as a child
>>9954040There's also no chance you're going to have sex but that doesn't mean you shouldn't believe in the impossible anyway
>>9935429No, it was an American cartridge fully. We never, ever had a cable video game service, ever. And we never imported anything; my collection was 100% American. She did say the game was hard to find, so it is possible that SEGA just forgot that they did in fact release the game physically in the States. Yes, I had the real game on my shelf right next to the original and part II. In fact, I'd regularly play them back-to-back and I was very proud of how the trilogy looked on my shelf.
>>9954040False. When it comes to 3-CPO's leg, I would have noticed if he had a silver leg. Fact of the matter is that a lot of people remember him being all gold. Lots of risidual evidence to support that. And if you dig deeper into the Mandela Effect, there's even old news stories that contradict each other about the same person dying in two different ways & different locations.
I was sure I posted in this thread but I can't find my post. It has to be the mandola affect. Also why do you guys keep calling it "mandela". He's called Mandola
>>9954195There are people whom were falsely imprisoned and you believe this is due to alternative reality sliding and not because the jurors prosecuted them on incomplete or misconstrued data. Speaking of which, your argument.

>>9954039Jif is still a brand, you fucking retard.
>>9948820>>9949068>>9948820>>9954505>residue/residualIn my timeline the term is vestiges/vestigual. In fact the Mandela Effect is real but the more you try to prove it the more you harden reality and self-negate your consciousness, because mind is matter. So it's best discussed from an oblique angle like here, where the topic posed is more important. If you go in trying to prove it or co-opting CERN as "evidence," you can't not expect opposition. Because the people on the other side are already convinced their reality hasn't changed. Because maybe it hasn't... for them. Capiche?Another problem you have to consider is empath stuff. Every night just before I fall asleep I remember things that have not happened and have memories of knowing people I don't. The internet is an extremely powerful tool which from a holistic perspective we don't quite understand how to use. It is divisive but also connects us. Now imagine that idea but extrapolated into hard reality. The Mandela Effect is that but there is no "evidence" you can point to. There never was. You have to cope.

I remember seeing "Dragon Warrior V" for SNES at a game store back in the day. I never picked it up, but it DID catch my eye. I only saw it once around 1993 or so at a Toys R' Us (I think). This game was Japan Only until the DS remake came out, so what was it that I actually saw? Did I mistake another game for this, or was it one of those "placeholder" boxarts game stores use? If so, does that mean DQV was meant to come out in the U.S. but was cancelled? I can't find any info on that idea anywhere. Please help me figure this out...

>>9956598Parallel universes are not impossible, the merging of them or travel between them would be the impossible part especially without FTL travel, two different universes merging would cause causality and space-time to rupture destroying the both of them, as it is now, the only way one would be able to touch another universe or receive any information from one is via Astral projection, which people often unconsciously do in their dreams and memories from the version of yourself in that other reality, can be transferred as you dream of being them.

Monroe obtained information for them from places he had never been and never went to after, astral projection is real. For Parallel universes, it stands to reason that If this universe exists others must also exist, Multiverse theory has no proof but no disproof as of yet either, not that science from what I understand the mathematical underpinnings of it are sound, we just do not have any method of testing it so far. Do you really think it's more plausible for two universes to be merged by idiot scientists somewhere in Switzerland when our understanding of this universe alone is woefully incomplete, like the idiot who thinks his memory is flawless thinks? Never mind that merging universe would likely require full complete knowledge of all events in either universe, and a level of understanding of physical laws man cannot even conceive of yet. When it is much more likely that there is some kind of connection between different versions of one person in parallel universes that can have some form of crossover, even if just in dreams. regardless, some of the Mandela effect is mass psychosis but it need not be, and frankly, could not be the only explanation, Just providing fodder for conversation, no need to be a nigger>>9963203It produces small amounts of DMT, that get smaller as you age and do not always occur, and that, so far as I am aware has not been proven to function the same as the formulation retards like Joe Rogan use to claim like "Universal oneness is totally real man, and the aliens are Racist bro" but sure it could be but that does not discount conscious astral projection.

I remember a game very faint, which I played long ago as a kid.
