The controller and retro keyboard is nice. You should play more computer games like MSX and PC-98 with it. For console games though you should just emulate on a TV. And yeah handheld games are better played on a dedicated emulator handheld like RG35XX or something similar. Not bad as a start though.

Not my pic but this anon from the CRT thread has the right idea. Ideally try to aim for something like this, standard home theater setup but with everything you need for emulation

Why do you guys not just use handhelds for Game Boy games? Or at least... Super Game Boy through BSNES
>>

>Windows bar visible
Disgusting
>>
>>9932621
>Super Game Boy through BSNES
Emulating the super game boy in a SNES enulator is kind of stupid. If you need colorization and/or borders, mGBA and SameBoy both support them (at least the libretro cores, not sure about standalone).
>>
>>9932471
crt filter makes more sense in some ways, it's more of a realistic scenario than playing on a giant version of the gameboy lcd, which is what those handheld filters do.

flashcarts aren't emulators, dumb cunt. you're merely using that as a banked ROM. what's next, genius? arcade games using flash chips to store their software are also emulators? that's the level of retarded logic you are working with right now.

I think you're intentionally making some silly-ass choices for (You)s. Why the Sidewinder? Kneecaps Playstation and newer emulation. Okay for Saturn I guess. I have on I use on my old PC. Dpad ain't great.
>not OLED or CRT
gross, does your setup at least support VRR? You know very well CRT shading for GB games is wrong unless you're emulating SGB, but if looks better in your opinion I guess...

D, D- if no VRR.
>>
>mixing retro components like that Sidewinder and keyboard with a wide LCD display
>desk instead of couch setup for console games
The more I think about it, the more I think F instead of D-. What machine is driving it? You'd get far more of a pass if you just put a 17" CRT instead of some $20 poverty-screen you got off FB marketplace. That and a Pentium 3/4/Athlon would at least tie it all together. You clearly don't care about demanding emulation with that controller anyway.

This. I also use the Super Game Boy bezels just like it is for the original.
Also use it for GBC because the Gamecube bezels+shader make it flicker like mad. I tried doing all adjustments I could, but can't fix it.

the sidewinder is actually good though, anf it's what many people used in the early days of NES and Game Boy emulation. I have a ps3 controller if I wanna emulate playstation games.
>>
>>9935936
>poverty screen
it's actually a pretty good 4k monitor with fast response
>>
>>9938l613
Like I said I have one and it's not amazing, but not terrible. Why jump between controllers, and if you care about old timey emulation with old input devices from the 90s/00s why aren't you using a CRT? Does that Acer LCD support VRR? What are your PC specs? Your setup isn't great. It's confused and reeks of cobbled together poverty. It's good for getting (You)s though. A+ for that.
>>
>>9938625
>jumping between controllers
I'm not a restless zoomer who can't play one game for more than 5 minutes

>no crt
I have crts it's just a fucking pain to set it up with a modern pc in 240p

>how powerful is my pc
it's overkill for any retro emulation I'll just say that

now stfu and stop projecting your poverty onto me. nothing wrong with being poor but I have way more cool retro shit than you can imagine
>>
>>9938679
You literally asked for this.
>>
>>9938697
yeah but i'll bite back if anyone says stupid shit :)
>>
Anyway, use an appropriate shader or use SGB emulation with border to make CRT shading appropriate, all LCDs blow, use VRR to avoid vsync lag if you're not already, desktop is generally a poor environment for games like this. Limiting controller if you're playing 5th gen+, if you at least used a joystick that would be some excuse to swap around. D. Hope it makes you happy/10. Thank you for using 4chan Inspections.

You lose some of the detail with the low tvl CRT shader but you gain some smoothness(particularly noticeable in the LV1 font)

If you use a low TVL LED Grid like say a 180 pixel wide grid instead of 240 you would get a similar result as the CRT shader

I don't think the LCD grid shaders are accurate to the GBA screen anyhow

>LCD handhelds
What are some good modern available handheld devices that can be used for retro handheld game emulation? Something like a 2-way LCD radio with a lo-def screen that recreates GBA or Game Gear.

I normally use my smartphone for that but modern phones have relatively hi-def LCD screens and don't look right.

>>9936146
I didn't think that was possible. I have seen a B&W LCD Doom in one but I thought that was fake.
