All three posts so far I completely agree with. Why is FFV the best FF? Probably the best SNES game.
Doing a run where I (try to) only use Knight, White Mage, Black Mage, and Thief. I might not make it all the way, but I'll try to keep going with it as long as I can before I use other stuff.

Like I personally love it when characters go "IT IS I, BROTHER!!!" but it is admittedly a total asspull in FFIV, same with wishy washy Kain. FFV is a simpler story but succeeds at everything it wishes to do.Soundtrack i just can't disagree with more, they are both great scores but FFV has some of my favorite songs in the whole series. The music in the rift, the dungeon theme, the boss theme. All just godly.

I find it very funny how they obviously took the design of Lenna with the white mage job to create an important character in the spin-offs: Shirma.

I don't know, but I really love how the characters look in their sprites. they reflect very well the personality of the characters and are endearing. Just seeing them gives me the idea that I'm going to play an adventure with a simple but beautiful story. On the other hand, the sprites of the characters from the other games give a feeling that I am going to play a super complicated story with characters with personality and designs that feel complicated and empty at the same time.I don't know, but the FFV fanarts are one of the best things the game has. I feel like the game is soulfull just because of that.
