Big thing, learn to love shields. On anybody not packing Double Assault/Double Shot/whatever, shield in the off hand, they really don't need a melee weapon 'just in case'. Have a good weapon and keep the bastard safe. Also, when you come across an ability called Arm Smash, it always kills the left one first so make sure the shield is on the left side.
