Love Siegfried/Nightmare from Soulcalibur. Aside from his moveset, I love his story, his character-progression and the arcs he goes through throughout the games. For a fighting game franchise, Soulcalibur has a lot of really in-depth lore and well-written and interesting characters.

Scorpion might be my favorite, I have almost sentimental attachment to him. A spirit reborn from hell to take revenge on those who ruined his life, that's just classic stuff, you could make a movie based on him alone. His teleport punch remains one of my favorite special moves in fighting games, it's fun to fake people out by lunging at them only to teleport behind them with an attack.Honorable mentions, Terry, Mai, Kazuya

Eddy in Tekken 3, the manic dance-fighting style of Capoeira impressed me at the time. Law in Tekken 4, because there is that flawed semi-Shakespearean aspect to his character that you won't find in something like Street Fighter. Namco simultaneously builds them up as bizarre icons and as "real" people, it's a strange irony. There's a touch of like Michael Mann movies to Tekken as well, Vincent or Max from Collateral could conceivably be part of that world.
