Yeah let me drop $600 for this. GTFOH

>>9151181
Maybe if it was MvC 1 (the good one).

That's honestly not a terrible selection. I'm shocked.

Fans have been campaigning for a MvC2 re-release for ages, so they stick it on a stupid plywood emubox with shitty parts for $600. Fuck you Disney/Capcom.
>>
>>9151181
It's not for playing. It's for buying. How do you still not get it?
>>
>>9151220
If it's for buying then buy something worth looking at.

There are several cabinet kits you can buy online for less than $600 which would beat this thing in every way. Some of them will let you use a 19" PC CRT, which would be perfect for MVC2.

>inb4 but I'm a dimwit who just wants to consooooooom instead of turning a few allen wrenches and plugging a few connectors together
see pic
>>
>>9151181
For 1000 USD I build a 2/3 size MAME/RetroArch cabinet, popped in a RGB CRT monitor, using a APU based computer with RGB out, USB multi-control arcade controllers, stereo speakers with amp.
>>
>>9151256
It's not for looking at. It's for buying. You buy it and coom, and then be sad again until you do another buying.

Why 2/3? Are you smol?

Oh actually I see it has it now, probably still cheaper to buy a dreamcast.

Comfy to use while sitting, also fits perfectly with 14" 15kHz CRT RGB monitors.

I don't really care about MvC2, I don't even use a 480p CRT. But you could for a similar price and it will do a lot more and use an actual CRT.

Acrade1up is cancer bullshit. Thanks for finding more ways to gatekeep non-rich people from playing retro games you scum
All of this would be fine if they just released collections on the consoles at the same time, instead it's just "want to play this retro game without buying a Dreamcast? Haha you cant, you can barely pay rent you shithead. You don't deserve Mahvel"
>>
>>9151723
If you are not able to afford 600 why are you buying games in the first place ? The best way to play marvel 2 is flycast on fightcade And that’s free.

I just want someone to make a flat pack kit that will go together to make an empty shell in the shape of a Japanese candy cabinet that will fit a 19" CRT television or monitor.
This isn't hard to make

at least put scuff marks and scratches all over it

All the MVC2 cabinets around me I remember had the controls out front almost free-standing away from the screen which had 2 huge speakers to the sides. It was the standard cabinet type for a lot of fighting games I played back then for Project Justice, CVS2, and all the games listed there but not in that style of cabinet. I vaguely remember the screen or glass was curved trinitron-style (cylindrical). What was that cabinet styled called? I want one for those games. It is cool the rights were allowed for the game to be available again for backwards compatibility.

It's a pretty direct port of the original NAOMI game because NAOMI games are easily ported to Dreamcast. PS2 and Xbox versions were dismissed by comp players (and most fans) for not being completely arcade accurate
>>
>>9152036
All the other ports are inaccurate and have ugly graphics
>>
>>9151181
>WIFI PLAY!
Is there seriously no ethernet connection? If you pay 600 burgers for this you need to deal with everyone lagging or disconnecting and need to put the cabinet near a router or whatever?
>>
>>9152414
Europe also used bat top. Today europe is the main manufacturer of bat tops. Poorcel regions outside of asia also used bat tops.
>>
>>9151734
How am I missing the point, we already have a free way to play mvc2 online, faggots like you begging for a shit port to waste money on is the reason the lobby is dead. Like vsav faggots all over again, love anything to do with the game except actually playing it noob
>>
>>9151181
can some fightingfags explain to me why MvC2 is so popular?
Is it because of the capeshit?
I tried playing it for dreamcast and I just don't see why you'd ever play that over something like Garou or Soul Calibur, outside of the novelty of playing a bunch of Marvel characters
>>
>>9152515
Wacky unbalanced bullshit with bright flashy lights and colors, peak zoomie ADHD
>>
Is Flycast the best way to play this?
>>
>>9152436
It isn’t the 1980s anymore. WiFi is more than any game could need.
>>
>>9152553
>WiFi is more than any game could need.
this is bait. there is a reason players in fightcade for example get marked with an "!" if they use wifi instead of a cable. shit is unplayable for everyone. you must have really low standards if you cant tell the difference.
>>
>>9152553
No, especially when many people would want to put this in a garage, basement, or other place that's not the middle of their home, or even have a soundproofed room for games / music. If someone's got a bigger setup then you end up with a shitload of devices all on the wifi. Many otherwise first-world countries also have deliberately shit internet, not to mention people that live out in rural areas and don't have access to the best internet so the wifi stinks. For 600 dollars you should have an ethernet option. You're going to be playing this with a small group of people who all bought the same expensive set, and going to have to settle for playing with people pretty distant and with shit internet.
>>
>>9152090
I wonder how often you play your collections, i think the time i find the SMS scart, the controller ,plug on tv , power cord, find a game to play etc, i would just give up already, sometimes just browsing my retroarch playlists i got bored, couldn't imagine dealing with all this shit.
>>
>>9152587
Not him, but you have to decide on one game at a time, and decide beforehand, then play it to completion. Otherwise shit is a mess and no matter what it's not as fun as you're not really getting into a game and focusing on it.
>>
The ONLY reason why people like MvC2 is because of the fuckhuge roster. The game is a broken mess with shitty stages, bland and out of place music, and a retarded OC boss.

You're referring to a showcase cabinet.
>>
>>9152036
It's actually arcade-perfect-er in a way
I remember pros complaining that they couldn't mash Storm's super out as hard on the DC version because there was less lag there than on arcade
>>
>>9152429
What were the issues with the PS2 and Xbox ports anyways?
>>
>>9151181
i've built an arcade machine for around 1000€, using a sff i5 comp with its own distro for mame.
it it's possible to mod that shit, it's not that expensive.
this said, the decoration is horrendous

While I agree, most people hated that version and preferred it on PS2. I remember everyone was cheering on MVC2 tournaments when they smashed up Dreamcasts at the end of streams back around 2004-2006 because they hated them.

>>9152090
Yeah, thanks to Capcom, they got me interested in characters like Psylocke and Rogue. Capcom has always known how to design characters catering to my tastes I did not know I had.

>>9153139
YES!! That is it! I would love to have those but I don't have the money nor the space to house one, but I can only dream when I win the lottery, so I'll try to remember "showcase cabinet". That is how a MVC2 cabinet should look like. The one in OP's picture looks more like a Mortal Kombat cabinet than the ones that housed MVC2/Tekken 3/Project Justice. I think there was another kind of cabinet with a larger (guessing it was projection screen) with free-standing controls in front that I remember seeing MVC1/X-Men Vs. Street Fighter housed in (it might even be the same as the cabinet for Mad Dog McCree), I remember the speakers were underneath the viewing area, which would be more suitable a look than the cabinet OP features.
>>
>>9151495
did you expect them to start the manufacture of crt again just for some cheap arcade.
>>
>>9154785
>While I agree, most people hated that version and preferred it on PS2. I remember everyone was cheering on MVC2 tournaments when they smashed up Dreamcasts at the end of streams back around 2004-2006 because they hated them.
Nobody hated the version of the game, it's objectively best on Dreamcast (arguably to this day), they just were annoyed that they had to keep using shitty old Dreamcasts nobody cared about anymore
>>
>>9154793
Ps3 and 360 versions of mvc2 added "QOL" changes and removed glitches that everyone liked making them worthless for tournaments.
>>
>>9151181
>MVC2 and a bunch of marvel fighters
if i was the kind of person who would buy these this is one i'd probably get. my main gripe with these is that it's usually and odd or random selection of games.
>>
>>9154815
>removed glitches that everyone liked making them worthless for tournaments.
if glitches are all it takes for you to win EVO then you don't deserve to win EVO.

couldnt you build an actual MAME cabinet with a crt for half that price? obviously you need to build the wood cabinet itself but im pretty sure you can even buy that off people online, etsy or something along those lines.
