probably these guys
i hate these fuckers in the seventh level autoscroller sectionfeels like they can spawn way more often than usualand they do so much damage so it's not just a matter of not falling in the pit
Not an enemy but the engine room in Rusty Bucket Bay. May as well count as one due to how many playthroughs it has filtered
Ive played Sonic 1 and the other games since I was eight years old and this fucker still gets me on replays.
>>8906360Yowch, I felt this.
>>8906360It's the slicers and starfish in Metropolis Zone for me.
these four guys for me
when I die I hope I become a God or something, and I'm given access to all information in the universe. I will ask the void such questions as, "how many players died to the first deku baba in OoT?". those are the answers I really want to know.
>>8906440you could do a really good estimate if you really wanted to know
>>8906018I don't think he's the worst one since everyone dies to him only once. Even if they're playing for the first time, they most likely have seen others play it and have enough time to figure out the controls. In contrast, the pit is an enemy that exists in every level and people continue to die to him until the end of time. Even as an experienced player he probably still takes your life every once in a while. There is no contest.
>>8906467When mario gets a foot on the edge of the block and just fucking falls into the pit anyways. that gets me real good
>>8906493>gets a foot on the edge of the block and just fucking falls into the pit anywaysAny platformer always has some bullshit ledge shit going on. Ooohhhhhhhhhh do I get riled up on some ledge bullshit.
>>8906163This
>>8906050>rockfound the problem sir she ended one of my most recent nuzlockes, i finished her with my last monster at literally 2hp- that was the end i couldn't carry on without vulpix and the rest of the team
>>8906065You're not supposed to treat them like a platformer enemy.
>>8906467each pit is a separate guy so it doesnt really work
>>8906467Hammer Brother guy. He takes your lives in 8-3 if you're too dumb to get the hidden power-ups and fireball him. But if you fuck up in 8-4 you have to get past him as small Mario.
>>8906050fpbp, came here to post this, and so on. That Miltank... I wish Pokémon had made more gym leaders this hard.
>>8906950I guess you should have grinded some more, nuzlockes sure are great.
>>8907997Is there not some kaizo bullshit pokemon hack yet?
>>8906163I've heard a lot of people say this, but I was well into my teens when I realized you had a speed up button in this game and could avoid the snowman.
>>8906018>>8906158>>8906163these for sure just for how widely played these games were even by people who didn't usually play video games
>>8907762oh f-
>>8908407How about Dark Wizards in FF1's ice cave>a single one of them can wipe out your entire team in one turn>they often spawn in group so even if you manage to kill one or two before they get a turn, you won't get them all>no amount of sane grinding can save you>no equipment to save you either>or any real tactic to counter the attack or diminish its powerI always do the ice cave in 2 or 3 passes (get a bunch of chests, exit, save, go back in) just because of them as it's way too risky to try and do the entire cave in one run
>>8907579>8-3, 8-4No doubt he's dangerous, but how many people do you think have actually made it far enough to be killed by him? The thread is about which enemy has taken the most lives.
>>8906158Winrar
>>8906429Rest of the level is fine for the most part but this area is what killed everyone.
>>8906158Meh
>>8906050I played crystal for the first time just last year, and honestly i have no problem with the miltank btfo'ing the player, i just have no idea why literally everything before it is such a cakewalk prior to itkind of lame game design imo
>>8908520I remember whatever enemy could use fira in the fire temple kicking my ass a good bit
>>8906050female geodude bodies her. set up some defense curls on clefair and click magnitude until you win
>>8906018I'm pretty sure that specific goomba takes the cake just by volume of players and average number of playthrough attempts: he'll get some surprisingly high percentage of first-timers and bad players, which is already more kills than players of most other games mentioned, then he takes lives off players who are trying too hard to rush through and happen to fuck it up. Speedrunners have probably contributed thousands, each, in their endless restarts in various states of tiredness/experimentation to find the fastest pixel of opportunity.
>>8907762I caught on pretty quick that you can trick it into flying exactly where you want it to.Jetpack Ninjas are the real bastards in that game. Every time you kill one, another one spawns at the right spot to shoot you out of the air while you're at mid-flight from a jump.
