You cant just have a normal wad and then suddenly add a puzzle, because people wont be in the mindset to think about it.
>>7851509Tbh i dont think it has a user map selection on raze. I got the DNF 2013 eduke maps to actually load to the Duke 3d main menu with razeLike i didn't get a error but there was no option to select it.

Another sprite edit I'm thinking is too good to restrict to Freedoom compatibility. Now If only I could figure out how to change its name and pickup message in all iwads. Doom lets me change its tag to "Power Saw" just fine, but Freedoom refuses to shake its default chainsaw label of "Angle Grinder" no matter how I set up the language lump.

Probably not the best place to ask Bethesda lore questions, but there isn't a Doom general in /vg/, so: Is it true that the Bethesda games say that the Doom Slayer's homeworld fell to the demons; i.e. we ultimately fail to protect anyone in the classic games?
>>7851624Is this English? I cant even understand what youre saying.

Anyone ever wish the original Doom had been just slightly more advanced, so that the Hell levels could be surreal and non-Euclidean rather than just a gloomy red-sky planet? Maybe at first subtle things like overlapping rooms, but later enemies walking on walls or ceilings. Maybe weirder skies, with faces or giant body parts, or skull or pentagram stars/sun(s)/moon(s). Maybe an early glimpse of Hell through a portal, like the one of Xen in Half-Life. Later you have to go through portals to progress; each one taking you further from normal space.
>>7852065I assume he's leaking a special version of Blade of Agony.
>>7852081I wish for very little in regards to classic doom, but you're right, hell could have benefited from some 5-D space.

>>7852051it wasn't clear in 2016 and was implied that may have happened, but if I recall correctly it turned out to be referring to the night sentinels in eternal?
>>7852051same lore that says the uac created cyberdemons when the very few pieces of og lore state otherwise, from the manuals and aesthetic aloneif anything, some random nerds making wads or overthinking the original nonsense setting care more about the "doomverse" than something that feels tacked in as a result of doom being a bigger ipnot a lot of people consider that doom's lackluster setting came with benefits for its staying power, since the new games are clearly inspired by outside factors of the fanbase and it's not even the comic

>>7852270>Mod specifically focusing on Base style maps >One of the the new weapons is a magic wand Whatever you say brutha :)
>>7852553That's literally what it says.
>>7852081The only thing I could have really wished from Doom is more modularity. The ability to insert new demons, weapons, etc. without having to replace old ones, generalized actions by default(or at least, an expanded set of linedef actions), being able to define multiple effects for a single sector, the ability to define a sky per-map, stuff like that.Pretty much Dehacked, but in vanilla.
>>7852589A lot of that can be done in Boom format and the new MBF21 allegedly has plenty of room for new monsters and weapons without replacing the classic ones.

>>7852449>>7852664NBlood and BuildGDX are both the go-tos, it's just that BuildGDX has more than Blood going for it.
Is it right to say that source ports help with peoples ideas of what's good?I mean, let's say the only way you could play the original Quake was by using Dosbox, at 800x600, 4:3 and all the old quirks and shit. No modern OS support and shit. Maybe it wouldn't be so fondly remembered. The open source games like doom, quake, Duke/blood, heretic hexen etc all have their modern engines.Like, when Dark Engine releases maybe people's idea of Dark Forces will be much greater. Look at Doom 64 even. With 64 EX and the modern ports people have a complete renewed interest in that game where it was previously stuck on the 64 with all its limitations but now it's viewed completely different.
>>7852724it's not made now, iirc it's made by a russian guy that is not really liked in doomworld forums to get some reactionchecked it and it says russian also there so I'm assuming it's the same guy, trying to get some reactions again. but it's not real, if you can find the old url you can probably search /vr/ archive to find the discussion about it
>>7852395>even doom 2 had faces on its hell skyboxSomehow managed to miss those. Guess I'll look for them on my next run. Aren't skyboxes technically a later invention, though?
>>7852728Eh. Even DOS Quake supports proper mouse look and custom keybinds. The only real quirks it has are strict entity limits, which is obviously only a problem when playing custom content (and even then, only modern Q1 SP stuff, given the modding scene for Quake predates GLQuake and sometimes even Winquake).
>>7852405You'd rather play a Doomguy based on the comic's?
>>7852449I'm using NBlood and it's pretty good so far, although I'm on level 4 so we'll see if anything comes up later.
>>7852736not reallyit's more that the "slayer" doesn't even follow that much of the comics, since doomguy runs away from a cyberdemon after a weak punch, right after the rip and tear line was saidbut if you ignore his dialouge, the comic version isn't that far from a marine that occasionally smiles as he kills demons but still has moments of getting hurtlike if you were to look at how his face works in the hud or the most basic interpretation of doomguy possiblea balance between "doomer and doomed" in a wayi won't blame if screwattack doesn't make a follow up to that one video if the first one is what inspired doom 2016 and id is clearly hoping they animate doomguy beating master chieflike how the hello neighboor dev was trying too hard to see if matpat would make game theory videos out of his face
>>7852589>the ability to define a sky per-mapNot per-surface, like in Dark Forces?
>>7852683Why are there two faces?

Alright, I think I'm about happy with how this looks, unless anyone has a major objection. The tubes are now hexagonal and have half the segments. Plasma battery is flipped around. Replaced the straps with rope because the mdl exporter kept doing weird shit to it (along with giving me numerous, very vague errors that took me forever to get around).Should be up on the Mega now. Just need to find it a more fitting sound effect and try to give the glowy bits a passive animation like I did with the mdl versions of the DOE ammo boxes (still need to fix those though).
>>7852798Looks pretty sweet. Great job, anon.
>>7852798is the animation meant to be similar to quakes?cuz it's very wonky.
>>7852523So if I'm using a texture pack but not using most of the textures, I have to search and copy each texture individually if I don't want it to be unnecessarily bloated?
>>7852832Tried to make it look like Quake 2's railgun firing animation. Probably needs a bit more movement, not just rotation. Not sure how much I can do without the vertex wobble getting too bad though.
I'm playing with a mod, how do I get a new status bar. I have no idea how much ammo, armor, or health that I have.
>>7852839I think a whole lot of exageration from the knockback of firing the railgun is needed, same with the reload to give out the message, Try disabling animated interpolation for the weapons and see.
>>7852840fidget with the + and - keys
>>7852840Try the + or - signs. Mods don't delete your status bar.>>7852798Seconding what anon said, the reload looks strange.

Since id Software calls their engines for id Tech, and since Silverman is a jew, wouldn't that make the Build engine yid Tech?
>>7852449Yeah, BuildGDX with the skybox fix mod and sc-55 soundfont is probably the best way to play it.
>>7852912>skybox fix modLink for the love of god.
>>7852798Made some adjustments. How is this?Ignore the rope clipping, the exporter decided to rape it.

>>7852961So far so good dude, but i'd say remove the inbetween frame after the muzzle flash and before the gun goes all the way back, and instead add a frame of the gun all the way back but a little bit behind, so it gives out a better feel of knockback!

Note, because of real-life commitments, I haven't got very far through the game at all yet - and therefore I haven't seen this myself; so, I am judging a this particular book by it's cover. Personally, I am not insulted in any way by this and I can see the humour in the intent (being a named individual caught pooping in a game is kind of funny). Given that the scene is clearly wrapped up in the whole concentration camp element of the game, perhaps the implementation is questionable (like I said, I haven't seen it yet, so I don't know) but I take my inclusion as an Easter egg to be a (poopy) compliment, not an insult.Based. I wouldn't even shoot for a realism style...It would still be a huge undertaking, but if you focused on the fun I think you could make something like that work without it ending up with feature creep. The universe would have to be quite large and long travel would have to still be fun. Ok admit it, that weapon from RoE is a gravity gun ripoff.
As long as we're wishposting games :I'd love to see a military / cop themed retro shooter where you basically play as organization like the HECU marines in tone and the weapons and equipment are based on [but not strictly limited to] modernish military hardware. Game would be divided into 'operations' and you'd earn money between levels based on your efficiency and you could use the money to buy upgrades / sidegrades / consumables etc. Like you could call in an airdrop of friendly troopers but that would cost ya and you could only initially call them in outdoors or in areas with skylights. Besides the handcrafted maps the game would have an Oblige-style procgen built in where you could generate a map or a ''mission'' of like 3 maps back to back.
>>7853931It came out a year after HL 2 so it's possible.
Now that HFFM is pretty much over with, what comes next? REKKR? Heretic?
>>7853931Sorta, but sorta not.The gravity gun existed during Doom 3's development, and what it was, was a level design tool, you'd use it to pick up and throw props around the place to make it look realistically like the room was messed up (and then save the positions and export them into the map editor). It wasn't intended as a weapon for the player to use. They later on decided that they would give it a model and add it as a weapon in RoE after having seen it in Half-Life 2.

>>7854507Well actually, Berserk lasts for 4 real life years.
I checked out the latest release of Violent Rumble, and I'm impressed at how well everything is coming together. I have a few questions:-The new laser rifle has the railgun mode and the simple enforcer laser. Does this mean the gun will drop from enforcers? -What is the purpose of the grapple's alt fire? It seems easier to just pull yourself near where you want and then use the momentum+airstrafing to maneuver.-Where is the vermis from? It's the only enemy I've never seen.
>>7854538>The new laser rifle has the railgun mode and the simple enforcer laser. Does this mean the gun will drop from enforcers?Right now mappers have to place it themselves, but I could add a setting on enemies to drop a selected weapon (unless PD2 already has that, not sure). I've also been thinking about adding selectable modifiers to the start map, so weapons dropping from certain enemies (shotguns from grunts, super nailguns from edies, laser rifles from enforcers, etc.) could be one of them.>What is the purpose of the grapple's alt fire?To swing you around to somewhere you can't directly shoot with the grapple. It works best if you switch to while in the middle of a normal pull, but it is fairly preferential.>Where is the vermis from?Pretty sure it's from Quoth. Another anon contributed the code for it.
>>7854554I thought Quoth never had its source code released, did the anon get a hold of it or is it all new?

>>7854156>ghostrunnner is mehNot really related to 3D Realms though: they only helped One More Level with some maps and marketing/distribution. From what I heard, Ghostrunner's development was kind of a mess: game got leaked before release and there was some budget missmanagement or something along those lines (just look at the game's ending). It's also worth noting that OML didn't get any royalties for the game since All in! Games didn't give any info (to be fair, it was in February; before IP was bought by 505 & sequel got announced). It's just kind of shady.>It’s worth noting that five companies in total were involved in making Ghostrunner: One More Level, All in! Games, publisher 505 Games, 3D Realms (they helped OML with the development), and Slipgate (they were involved in distribution and marketing activities).>Only three of them — 505 Games, One More Level, and All in! >>7855156>are the current 3d Realms and Apogee even the same companyNo. They never were. Technically, 3D Realms (legally & spiritually, in a way) is still the same company since the beginning: original Apogee Software and all that.In 2008, during DNF shenanigans, Scott Miller sold the rights for name and logo for that old Apogee name to Terry Nagy and nu-Apogee was born. Although "Apogee Software Ltd" is still the legal name of 3DR:>A couple of years after that, George Broussard was brought on, things expanded, the company got larger, and while it was still before my time there, they created “Apogee Software Ltd.” That was (and still is to this day) the legal name of the company I worked for for almost seventeen years in the 90’s and 2000’s. “Apogee Software Ltd” was what was on my paychecks.https://joesiegler.blog/2020/11/my-story-of-apogee-3dr/Despite Scott Miller being in both parties now (at least reportedly) and 3DR & nu-Apogee working together to a certain extend, they're not the same company:>Apogee also approached the original authors and current license owners of several games that it published in the ’90s for permission to make remastered versions. It’s unlikely that 3D Realms will be involved with the development, but the two companies are in talks about supporting some sort of cross-promotional opportunities.https://www.pcinvasion.com/apogee-scott-miller-indie-game-publishing/Again, some shady stuff here, but don't know what's up there nowadays. So far it seems like that "Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure HD" should have 3D Realms on board as they're the ones who holds the rights to it after many other titles were moved over to Apogee Entertainment.>shout to Crystal Caves HD which is actually pretty good.Yep. Dude made a great remaster, wanna play it at some point. Like his style.
>>7855174>>7855186Would also like a randomizer that just slightly randomizes the global color palette at every new level.
Playing Duke, how the fuck do you reliably deal with pig cops? The only way I really can thus far is hoping RNG gives me some grace and I can get two shells off without them firing at all, or they fire and miss. Blood has plenty of dynamite to instantly decimate cultists you see, and in Shadow Warrior you're rarely ever without some kind of explosive, or your autoshotgun. Blood is the harder game? Bullfuckingshit. Also maybe it's just the "first episode is best" thing, but man am I enjoying this more than Blood or SW. The sound has the RIGHT amount of crunch, it's really satisfying to hear your shotgun go off. It's like all the sounds are fed through radio wire, but it gives it a lot of grit. SW has this too, but Blood doesn't.
>>7855194Thanks, this one seems very close. It has some gameplay changes but they are minor comparing to other randomizers.
>>7855186>>7855197Have you considered putting your autism aside for a few minutes when playing Doom?
>>7855206They are incredibly minor in the grand scheme of things. It's just nice to see small, tall, and different colored demons. It's a good mod, and like the name states, it's compatible with every mod under the sun.
>>7853968E.Y.E and Dusk
>>7855207Well, this is the first time I'm trying to use a mod with doom. If you play with the same visuals every day for years and not feel bored, then this is even more of an autism sign imo. Not like it's something bad though.

>>7855240just dl it with whatever tool works for youhttps://www.youtubepp.com/watch?v=Yfwslsbjtms
>>7853968Amid Evil I guess. If we talk about whole New game.
>>7855208Turns out it's even possible to turn off balance-changing things like ammo randomization, the only thing I miss is something like randomization groups. For example, to have 3 types of imp recolorings per level and each new imp is one of those 3 colors, because now when you get a randomized color it's always a totally new color.
>>7855135Okay, so we learned not to do the following:>Fill your map with dozens upon dozens of enemies that spew five projectiles at once>Make bosses who can teleport entire rows of knives on top of your face>Make your bosses bullet sponges which can only be hurt by the plasma gun or rocket launcher>Make it so it's nigh impossible to get close to enemies (especially bosses), when the majority of doom's arsenal is geared towards close combat>Create massive maps with a whole heap of nothing in them>Make projectiles that spawn more projectiles in a straight line in said massive maps>Don't create 1:1 copies of Touhou's bosses and enemies, because Touhou's projectile patterns don't work well when they can shoot at you from any angleMaybe we'll do this again sometime.
>>7855135>Hopefully with no audioyou got that right

>>7855203Bob and weave behind cover.
>>7855203Blood is the hardest game until you realize only cultists can actually damage you, and their attacks can be reliably dodged by jumping and crouching often.
>>7855203With the shotgun, shoot, go behind cover, listen for suppressive fire, and face them again when its face. The chaingun and freezethrower can stun them pretty reliably. If you have to shotgun or pistol them in the open, just strafe like a madman and hope for the best.

If he escapes, does he free Crash and the other heroes?Bethesda's presumably not planning a Quake III remake/reimagining, since they're already running Quake Champions.I really hope there's not some causal-loop crap going on; I hate that. But some fans seem to think there is.
>>7855878slipgates are mentioned in Eternal, so the games are included until they are retconned to not be, until the next retcon, and so on.with Sandy and Romero leaving after Q1, none of the sequels are canon to it in the artistic sense of the word, only in the legal/corporate one.
>>7855878That sounds neat but I prefer Quake and Doom to stay separate, just like Wolfenstein.
>>7855878>whether the Quake games are included in the Bethesda Doom canonThey used word "Slipgate" multiple times in Eternal + Youngblood talked about "other dimensions", but I would that the closest you get when it comes to their crossover are Arena/Champions and that's for the best.We don't need to go lower than TAG2 story/lore.>Has the Slayer been abducted in the past and forced to fight in the Arena Eternal, or is he destined to at some point in the future? He was taken already, but either way it doesn't matter because that wouldn't have any effect on DOOM universe. Much like Blaskowitz being there means nothing for his universe. In other words, don't overthink it. Arena Eternal is its own different thing.
>>7855878Ironic how original id not caring about any form of story or setting led to something more engaging than whatever mess new id came up with
>>7855878I feel like Doom could have either do the Twisted Metal direction of each game having its own ideal lore/universe/timeline/etc or even a Mario/Zelda direction of most games having some experimentation and characters and elements just being there or somethingProblem with a "Universe" is when the series' setting is enough of a mess that things could go one way or another and even Hugo Martin is retconning shitLike, why establish rules in a place that had appeal because of the lack of it?I know people hate comic book franchises having too many different versions of particular characters but i feel like a few reboot-ish spin-offs with their own ideas is a bit preferable of "more Slayer games that don't have a lot of new gameplay ideas and make the lore worse"Doom only has a "Universe" because other franchises have it too, something even Martin admitted in a 2020 February event, where he got like 2 football players playing the game
>>7855290>>Make your bosses bullet sponges which can only be hurt by the plasma gun or rocket launcherIn general, don't make any enemy immune to any weapon unless you're absolutely sure you've conveyed that to the player. The Predator Rule: If it bleeds (or flinches) from an attack, it needs to be killable by that attack.
>>7852539Politely bumping for answer.
IT'S THAT TIME OF THE WEEK AGAIN. SCREENSHOT SATURDAY. WHAT THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON? MAPS, MODS, SPRITES? NOW'S THE TIME TO SHOW US.
>>7855809I've literally never mentioned shit about graven anywhere. You're the one who was keen as fuck to talk about your grievances with the game, I just want to know what you don't like. You talk about wrath as thought they're trying to be the same genre, and I really don't think they are. Graven seems like it's going for more of an imsim thing (whatever that means) and wrath is going for pure hub fps.
>>7855905The opening cutscene shows Sarge physically disappearing. So, if nothing else, there's an Arena-canon version of the Doom universe where Doomguy disappeared. Unless there were some retcon about taking people bodily some times and copying them other times. What do you mean by "lower"?
>>7855967You see sarge disappearing right before he would apparently die. So it could be that doomguy was plucked right before his death in e1m8 and just placed back after the tournament, or some unseen death later in the series.
>>7855946after a week or so, I finally finished my first map. it's been fun learning the basics with UDB and such.
>>7855946Been recreating company and game art after a hard drive crash (I say crash, but what really happened is I piled drived the registry into fucking oblivion after a mis-click, like an idiot)Pic related is what I'm recreating atm. Company art related to rekkr. And I had to remake a small portion of the rekkr logo for a website I've yet to build...Other than that not much. Paperwork and shit.I lost the shambler model I made a month or so ago too, which is kinda lame.
>>7855967>The opening cutscene shows Sarge physically disappearing. And? If you really need some "overdetailed explanation", when you can go with "there's an Arena-canon version of the Doom universe where Doomguy disappeared". That's closer to what I mean.>What do you mean by "lower"?I mean "worse", obviously. nu-DOOM's lore really went to shit with The Ancient Gods DLC's. Many people know that.
>>7855915>Problem with a "Universe" is when the series' setting is enough of a mess that things could go one way or another and even Hugo Martin is retconning shitPretty much.>I know people hate comic book franchises having too many different versions of particular charactersThat's one of the things I don't hate about them. At least when they're in separate universes, that don't cross over and that the writers don't get mixed up.>Doom only has a "Universe" because other franchises have it too, something even Martin admitted in a 2020 February eventDo you have the exact quote? Odd way to put it, since even original Doom had some lore, and Thy Flesh Consumed and Doom II at least pretended to follow it even if some of the details didn't match. And it's not like other games didn't have story or series continuity in 1993.
>>7855946This has taken way too long. Brute forcing it and hopefully done by next week.
>>7856003>Do you have the exact quote?I think it's the Game Days video where they show the Fortress of Doom
>>7855980"Doom"'s dialogue in Q3A talks about having been to Hell, and about "a whole planet paying the price", though. And I didn't think there was anything in Quake lore about the Vadrigars putting fighters back.
>>7855992>what really happened is I piled drived the registry into fucking oblivion after a mis-click, like an idiotOuch. I hope nothing else was lost in this accident and paperwork isn't too annoying.
>>7855992Revae you made the melee shambler model? Sick shit
>>7856009Wait, is there a new Quake mapping project going on or are you just a lone rider?
>>7855626I don't see the problem with an "episode" being short. The problem is when they charge too much; and/or take too long to make the next one (if they ever do).The ideal is same amount of content produced, at the same price, as a "full" game, just spread out in time so you get the new-release hype more focused and often, and so they can put the income from each part toward developing the next part. But that almost never seems to happen.
>>7856038What I didnt understand was " are you aware" question. Of course I am fucking aware i am in a retro fps thread.Hence why I mentioned the true Sin sequel. Also Yes I still want Sin remaster and do not give a fuck about episodes.
>>7855841Maybe in the Steam version. Tried them just now.
Nothing really new to show, as I have mainly been working on sounds (there are basically no good water jet/psshhh sounds around and no crying non-toddlers, so I will probably have to do the crying boy voice myself) and more frames for the player model's rotation. I am already dreading having to make the 45° rotations. That said, to the people actually making monster sprites, what do you do first? Finish all frames and then shade or shade each sprite while you're making it? Because I thought it was smart to just get the general shapes and perspective down before I add details.
>>7855946The webm I made looked like shit so here's a screenshot that barely shows you what I'm doing at all. I'm using Extended DeHackEd and MBF21 to make a gameplay mod, if you recognize this sprite you'll know what the mod will be like. Just waiting for DecoHack to add MBF21 support.
>>7856032Personal project. Making a map or two for Violent Rumble though.
>>7856073I spy a red dog and an archer. Drake/Keep?

Maybe it's time to admit that 3D Realms is one-hit wonder.
I always wanted to make a simple-ish weapon mod that'd be compatible with Dehacked (or at least BEX) so it could've been playable on prBoom+So I'm trying to figure out how to DeHackEd via WhackEd4 tool.I'm opening up other (rare) dehacked weapon mods to see how they do stuff, but when trying to open up D4V's alternative guns - like Vortex Rifle, it throws this error at me:Now I've tested all the D4V arsenal in DOS version and they all work in vanilla, so they dont do anything outside of what vanilla can handle, yet WhackED insists some strings are wrong, and does not load it.What do?
>>7856123This new 3d realms are cool guys. I liked realms deep, more abnout what coudlve been and games they had in store. But yes I still they are going to vanish fast.Oh well.
>>7856131Youtube has some whacked tutorials.
>>7856092Ding ding ding, you win nothing. Won't be a one-to-one conversion since that would be kind of pointless and a poor showcase of the new codepointers in MBF21. For example I'd like to integrate the RIPPER flag into one of the weapons.
>>7856149Are there any tutorials off-youtube?I'd rather have a written one.
>>7856156Make the plasma gun into a flamethrower or piercing lightning gun with RIPPER.
>>7856123Duke 3D or Shadow Warrior? I feel like they should get some credit for the games they made as Apogee too.
>>7856031I did make the melee shambler texture, but I meant the sculpt I did.>>7856018I didn't lose a lot luckily. I'm pretty good at keeping backups, generally. At least for important things. I've always hated paperwork.
What are the major "classic" Doom canons/continuities/interpretations? Not counting non-game ones.>Hall - games are in the Commander Keen universe>Martin/Bethesda (possibly more than one version given retcons) - games are "the first battle, in the first age"; Doomguy later becomes Doom Slayer>Quake III+ - "Doom" is abducted sometime after Earth invasion>Romero - Sigil>RPG - Blazkowicz fought cyberdemon; Doom 3 Marine is Doomguy somehow?>Williams/PSX Doom - possibly leads into Doom 64Are there more?

>>7856224>cyberdemonI should say, *future* cyberdemon. But there are multiple cyberdemons in the games. He respawns, but his lost limbs don't regenerate? I guess because of some kind of "spiritual damage" from the Spear? Or do the RPGs replace the original games rather than adding to them?Whatever; something can have plot holes and still be a single canon.
>>7856228Isn't Ranger a Quake-only character?
>>7856243Oh I thought you meant id games when you said Doom continuities. My b.
>>7856224I guess a relevant question is which ones the Final Doom episodes and No Rest for the Living take place in; or whether they have their own.
Sometimes I've seen some anons here referring to Black Ops assassins as "they glow in the dark"Is it a reference to something?
>>7856285wtf was his problem?
>>7856290>he doesn't know
>>7856290heheh. i get it lol
trying to get Quake to run well on Windows 10 with a software renderer (or at least an accurate look to that of one.) the best I have found so far is Mark V because it supports scaling to nearest neighbor which looks fucking amazing with a 1440p monitor due to that scaling perfectly with 240p, however the mouse input fucks up and I also can't get it to work with the soundtrack. Do any Quakechads here know of any alternatives or fixes? the mouse button tends to just get stuck either on or off and doesn't properly take my inputs. Apparently it can be fixed by setting the polling rate on my mouse to 250 but I'd rather not do that if there's other source ports/fixes.
>>7856290Ok,nvm I got it.That's pretty funny and quite sad honestly.
>>7854897>Doom card gameEh, maybe. Not sure If I desire it more than TES Legends.

>>7856317it only supports mp3, no ogg. can't help with the mouse.you can try tyrquake also, it has software mode, and I thought win10 drivers supported integer scaling out of the box.
>>7856331too bad it doesn't have mipscale to go with it, eh?
>>7856340>https://www.bluesnews.com/s/25988/etc>The website is still active
>>7856347As far as I know, QS has nearest neighbor with gl_texturemode 1
>>7856342>I thought win10 drivers supported integer scaling out of the boxYou can do it via NVidia drivers if you have an RTX card, but I have a 1080ti. It's fucking insane to me that it was never a feature before, like they never opened an older game and saw the vaseline shit shmear or something, not only that but it's LITERALLY the easiest form of math possible. I think there *is* some form of Windows integer scaling, but it only works with windowed applications and the software that exists to force it on applications that don't otherwise support it are lackluster to say the least. see: https://tanalin.com/en/projects/integer-scaler/
>>78563521 means no mips at all, but that's the compromise, yes.
>>7856353well, other alternatives are putting dosquake through dosbox, or putting winquake through dgvoodoo. both allow scaling.

Any reccs for vanilla/boom wads with more of an emphasis on platforming? Wads where the difficulty isn't just killing all the monsters but more figuring out how to navigate the level to reach the exit.
Something that probably has no answer: Why do the classic games have demons trapped in cages? Did they piss off other demons?
