What is Pokémon Sleep?
Pokémon Sleep is a sleep tracking app that utilizes your smartphone and/or the Pokémon Go Plus + device to record data as you sleep. In doing so, you'll be able to meet a variety of Pokémon and fill out your Sleep Style Dex.

>Pokémon Website Page
https://www.pokemon.com/us/app/pokemon-sleep/

Be sure to post your Researcher ID so that you can add and share candy with fellow Anons. We are currently locked to having a total of only fifty friends but hopefully this will change in the future.

I can't go back not not having a wiggly on my team, that energy all day is too good. I don't even care if I'm missing out on something else. I need it.
>>
Just started the 2 week trial of the Premium Pass so I can use the shop for September and October. Which items are most worth buying, and do you think the pass is still worth using after the trial?
>>
>>54507682
Everything in the premium side is pretty useful, and limited stock. In terms of usefulness/worth, I'd probably rank them like so:

Sub Skill Seed = Main Skill Seed > Candy > Great Biscuit > Poke Biscuit = Dream Cluster > Ingredient Ticket
>>
>>54507682
candies if you're close to evolving something you really need, skill seeds otherwise.
>>
hehe what if we made fan-favorite pokemon Lucario hot garbage hehehe
>>
what is the point of napping?
don't you only get one research session per day?
>>
>>54508019
you could take a nap to get some energy back during the day for your pokemon if you need a push. you can do research if it's over 90 minutes. so thats another chance to catch something if the morning's pickings were shit. and you can send an additional candy to your friends. the drawback is the drowsy power won't be as high or something? if you break up your sleep into 2? but that doesnt make much sense to me its just what other people think.
>>
>all 3 meals today crit
>>
Still got some spots in my friend list open
>>
Do research site bonuses apply to the helping speed of your Pokemon? Because if so, that would explain why I was rolling in EFEs on green grass and only got 2 EFEs my first time at Taupe hollow. Same thing with my Glaceon suddenly only triggering once the whole day.

The game will let you record 2 sleep sessions per day. You can do research for both, so you can see more Pokemon overall. This will also trigger a second Research Community update, giving you more friendship (vs the usual 1).
Downsides to this however, are many.
You don't get the rarity you get with a single full sleep since it multiplies by the current Snorlax score x time. It also forces you to use your daily biscuit on the first session of the day, meaning you might have to use it on a small selection of trash. You can only record up to 100% (8.5hr), meaning everything after that is basically wasted.

Should I just be buying all of the rare candies out of the Sleep Points exchange every month? I've kind of just been stockpiling my points for an emergency master biscuit or exchanging for poke biscuits if I want something that day.

>>54509605
Ekans and Growlithe apparently. I never want to see Ekans, but it always manage to pick up the 3* or 4* slot.
>>
Fuck you too game
>>
>>54510419
i've not bought any candies, the only thing i got was a thunderstone

should probably buy a master biscuit or two... cause otherwise it'll take forever to get like ditto and shit
>>
I finally decided to evolve my Ivysaur which is nice considering the extra skill ingredients but picking up what he drops is annoying now because he's huge and covers most of what he drops :(
>>
it was another "It's lunch, but I don't really have that many ingredients, I'll not cook just now. Let's wait and try and get some, maybe a ingredient finder will proc by like 5. Oh shit it's dinner time" day today

>>
Would you pay if they allowed you to increase your friends list total by 20 for 120 diamonds?
>>
Is there a way to consistently get the tasty/critical (or whatever the official term is) meals, or is it just truly random. My wife insists that there's a strategy for getting it but I have doubts.
>>
>>54511738
I would try and get myself to 110 considering all that candy would be of great value from the friends list.

Opeing 110 letters though to make sure people are active though....
>>
>>54511745
You’re more likely to get it on Sunday, though I did do a 260 ingredient Sunday dinner that didn’t extra tasty, so it’s not 100%
>>
>Only my third week playing
>Dessert week
>Also can't provide any berries he wants

>>
Gonna boost tapue hollow bonus while working towards new sleep styles this week

Hopefully will unlock snow area by the end of the month and nearly/have a tyranitar
>>
For anyone curious subskill % are additive. For example too sleep exp = x1.28.
>>
>>54510419
>Should I just be buying all of the rare candies out of the Sleep Points exchange every month?
the M candies at least. but the other stuff is more valuable as you will eventually get all the candies you need just by playing. but if you're really close and really just want to evolve something to a third stage, then i would go for it
>>
>>54511745
every meal ive made so far this week has been extra tasty. I haven't been doing anything differently. and last week I got only one crit and it wasnt on sunday so idk
>>
Who is the best ingredient Pokemon and why is it Victreebel?
>>
>>54511871
also important to note that good sleep day + incenses are MULTIPLICATIVE.
the formula goes as follows:
(100 + 14 x # sleep bonus pokemon) x incense bonus x sleep day bonus.
for example, i have 4 sleep bonus pokemon.
i get 156 exp daily. an incense would give me 312. a good sleep day AND incense would give 624, 936, and 624 for day prior, full moon, and day after respectively
i tested this out on the last good sleep day event
>>
How do you know if a player is inactive? Is it the people that says Off on them?

Getting another free Good Camp Ticket for Good Sleep Day next week probably isn't gonna happen, is it?
>>
Im so sick of losing entire days of the week because the time I go to sleep is pretty much right on the same time the game rolls over to the next day
>>
>>54514851
The game really isn't playable for nocturnal/night shift workers or those who don't need much sleep like they admit exist in 2 different tips. I only need 4-5 hours sleep per night so I can't use my phone which has replaced computer, TV, radio, and notebook for 3.5-4.5 hours per day because it thinks I should be sleeping 8.5 hours. That much sleep makes me feel like shit all day.
I'm tempted to see if my parents or friends have an old phone laying around I can have just for this game. It only needs an internet connection and functioning gyroscope/accelerometer.
>>
>>54514851
Set the app to start sleeping before the rollover even if you havn't started going to bed yet
>>
>>54514786
I doubt they're giving us another ticket, but I imagine the shop bundles are showing up again.

>>54514851
Then go to sleep earlier. Or at least put your phone to sleep earlier. Or if you really want, I think the Pokemon Plus+ is supposed to be able to track on its own too.
>>
It took a while but I finally got a good Igglybuff and it feels so good bros.
>>
>>54515002
>just go to sleep earlier
If only it were so simple, but since its frowned upon to sleep while driving, I feel like its not the best idea
>>54514992
this is what I usually have to do, but sometimes I'm just not able to set it up in time.
idk it really feels like it is supposed to roll over when breakfast becomes available for the snorlax, but for some reason its just set a couple hours earlier for no reason
>>
>>54515052
Sucks to have berry finder and sleep EXP as your last skills, but good for the longest haul, I suppose.
>>
>>54515052
Keep catching the Igglys. Eventually you get a guaranteed gold in slot 1. Skill Level M and then Skill Trigger M for slot 2 becomes much easier to get
>>
8092-6178-9940. Need to fill out my friends list.
>>
So has anyone figured out the exact data on high energy yet? It seems like morning to lunch, they gather pretty quickly, but after that it's considerably slower.
>>
>>54515052
yeah you could make that work. it may not proc the higest energy for itself but all those skill triggers and skill level up's make up for it. this thing will do great work for you as a wiggly
>>
>>54514630
I havent seen any of those pokemon in so long. Also who the hell even checks what candys you get and by who?
>>
Cyan beach worth it for full-moon week? Even if you get less points compared to Grass, I do like the smaller variety for getting the mons I want.
>>
>>54515586
Depends what pokemon you're aiming for.
Full moon week is really only boosted for the 3 days around the full moon day itself, so you'll get higher rarities than normal on those days, but it doesn't actually progress you much further than you can already reach in your chosen area. Like for instance you ball rank still restricts what you can see, so you still need to reach those benchmarks in spite of the boosted sleep power.
>>
>>
>>54513180
It's good.
This one worth it you think?
>>
>>54515556
I check em. if you send me shit candy you're back on the streets like the dog you are

>got 5 shit mons last night
>paranoid some minmaxer going to delete me
Just go ahead and do it so I can get some less autistic friends.
>>
>>54516185
You could probably wait around for better. Its skills are OK, but the distribution makes it want to eat up more early resources, because we all know it takes forever to get to 25, and anything beyond that will take so much longer. The level 10 and 25 skills are really important due to how slow EXP progresses.
>>

Personally I’ve noticed they’re collecting more items for me.
>>
>>54517879
more carry space, faster help times, level up of your main skill

.... maybe other things?
>>
Do you guys think I’d get more Snorlax XP out of a ability that lets me add more ingredients to dishes or one that gives me just straight XP every time it activates?
>>
>>54517915
Meals are much more consistent. You can have a god-tier pokemon with the perfect nature and subskills to proc their main skill and still have days where it only procs once.
>>
>>54517915
>>54517944
Skills supposedly have individual activation rates, so if it's Cooking Power-up S vs Charge Strength M, they might not activate equally given all other stats matching.
That aside, Charge Strength M is a massive boost, but Cooking Power-up S also benefits from lucky pots and end-of-the-week bonuses. I'd say Charge Strength might be more consistent with no other interaction needed, but eventually your pokemon are going to be shitting out ingredients that you can't wait to get rid of.

It's really annoying just how good berry finder is.
It's like every single pokemon that doesn't have it at lv10 is substandard and any other optimization has to come after the premise "It has berry finder at lv 10".
Similar thoughts for Speed- natures, which are straight downgrades unacceptable on any pokemon and are never "a choice" but always the objectively substandard one.

It's alright but growlithe is ass. Arcanine is 1000x better but you have to justify using it over charizard who will have you drowning in sausages, and Flareon, who will let you use 100 ingredients in your pot. Plus fire stone is fucking expensive, and I have no idea when they'll give you a free one like they did the ice stone and thunderstone.

haha ok. You shouldn't take it very personal if you go inactive and people delete you for it.

>>54520788
I usually give others grace days because there could have been good reasons why they missed a few days. I don't expect others to have perfect attendance.
>>
>>54520768
The only people who care about gameplay in this are the ones who are already dropping the app.
>>
>>54520782
Some people quit the app, it's normal in a lot of apps.
You don't want to keep a person who hasn't logged on since the full moon event and probably won't return. They probably don't care anymore, so you shouldn't either.
>>
>>54519978
It's a pure support mon, probably suited for much later in the game, since the rest of your team needs to be really good at gathering for its ability to do much of anything. I think overall Wiggly/Sylveon would net you similar gains, just spread out among your pokemon... maybe a bit less depending on activations.

It depends on the Pokemon's base speed. Each level seems to give like a .1% decrease (~5s for most Pokemon). So the fastest Pokemon can probably get around mid to high 20's with bonuses.

I'm only on Great 4 so far as of this morning and I'm a fellow Beach camper. I was determined to try and get Master 1 after it was the one mission task that eluded me last week (I think I finished on Ultra 3 or 4?) but that was bold of me to assume I could do it.

I just hope we can get the last few sleep styles we both need to reach the research goal post.
>>
Are you a berry fag or an ingredient fag. Berries seem overpowered right now. Granted they also require you to have a rotation of Pokemon unlike ingredients.
>>
>>54526625
Eh, ingredients kinda need a rotation too, depending on what you wanna make, but it's not as important.
>>
>>54524900
Yeah you need to add 50 friends asap cuz you get candies for each friend you have. The candy you give other people is based on which pokemon you take a research picture of to share with everyone at the end of your research session. And as you grow in closeness with friends you get more free shit just by being friends for s longer time

It's somewhat random, but based on pokemon that can be found in the area that you're researching for that week. Apparently there's an indication for either type-generic or non-first-evolution pokemon incenses, but I don't think those are available yet.

>>54530262
I realized you can basically use them 2 ways. Either use it early in the week where there's probably not anything you want anyways. Or use it at the end of the week to probably get a rarer sleep-style of that pokemon for the research points and shards.
>>
is wiggly better than sylveon? :(
>>
>>54530448
In general yes, one less main skill seed to use if evolving from iggly, and doesn't compete with every other eeveelution for a spot
a sylveon can naturally easily be better with better nature/sub skills though
>>
>>54530448
The one thing that makes Sylveon better is the helping speed and inventory limit. Also it changes the ingredients gathered. Instead lf Honey it'll gather Milk by default and the lvl30/60 roll can be Bean Sausage instead of Pure Oil.
This anon said it correctly >>54530512, I am only going to set up Sylveon if it gets a better main and subskill.

It's a little counterintuitive, but Good Sleep Day(s) don't actually improve your ability to progress in an area. You get bonus Drowsy Power for your sleep research, which isn't a permanent bonus. So while you might be able to see more/higher rarity pokemon than usual, you're still constructed by which ball tier you go to sleep at each time.

>>54520788
I've been sick for the past couple of days and my ++ stopped tracking my sleep <90 minutes, I think it's because I was moving around too much or I was pressing it accidentally.
If I manually put my sleep schedule to get at least something, will it look like I was inactive to others?
>>

you'll probably only reach great in Tundra, but if you get slumbering maybe youll get to see some sealeo's.
>>
Wondering if I should buy the ingredient ticket. Seems nice, but I’m already hoarding so many. Inventory space is pretty valuable right now, even after buying a bunch of slots. Doesn’t help that I still have biscuits to buy.
>>
>>54535969
Manually inputting data doesn't let you do research and the pokemon photo is what's required to be sent to your friendslist.

>>54536200
Ingredient tickets are almost entirely just waste. It's random and if you're not naturally gathering the number of ingredients needed to fill your pot every meal, you fucked up.
>>
Axed a few people who weren't sleeping. Hoping I can get some more but I think I've got most all of my fellow snoozers here
>>
If I check my friends list for updates, and the game crashes. Do I still get the Candies that I was supposed to get from it? The crash happens before the Okay button appears. Also, what does that mean if our friendship was supposed to level up just then, do I still get the item I was supposed to get?
>>
>>54536342
yes you still get the candy
>>
>>54536223
>if you're not naturally gathering the number of ingredients needed to fill your pot every meal, you fucked up
How do you even propose this? Once you get the pot to 33+ the only way is to have at least 2 dedicated ingredient gatherers, and even then you have to hope they actually get those ingredients, and also hope you get an ingredient activation or 2 throughout the day. Even then you'll probably just barely be making it. I'd like to think you won't be telling me about your 3 butterfree and fully evolved kanto starters.
>>
>>54536407
Even your berry pokemon pick up the random ingredient or two, so if your pokemon aren't all 1hr base speed, you should be at a pretty close equilibrium or even going over your limit.
I run 2 ingredient pokemon and I haven't needed to use an ingredient ticket for a while. You also get a free ingredient ticket every week as a sleep reward, plus you also get tickets from Research Community levels. Buying them from the point exchange is probably the least "worth" out of all the other options.
>>

>>
Increase pot size on skill Pokemon is so broken, you don't even care about the imposed pot limit because Glaceon is just going to give you 100 pot size anyway. If they fix this I am screwed.
>>
>>54531146
so right side number being a higher percentile means its a really good mon but the left side number can kind of be ignored? i dont get why a 98th percentile mon is only 58% efficent unless that counts favorite berry type and stuff.

basically you can change your weekly rewards when you've got all the stamp rewards you need, into something else w/out penalty. Helps if you don't want any more dream shards and you could use more ingredients or candies perhaps
>>
>>54541092

That just seems incredibly bad. Ingredients are like the least valuable thing in this game and skipping your paid currency reward is like the biggest no-no in mobile gaming.

Moving away from single ingredient recipes ASAP will make a big difference to meal-time gains.

Most of what my Snorlax ate this week was drought katsu curry. Even at a lower level, it had bigger gains than the beanburger curries I was feeding it.
>>
>>54545259
That's because the ingredient makeup of the katsu curry is stronger than beanburger. Of course 10 sausage + 5 oil is worth more than 7 sausage. The difference is you can put more random ingredients into a single-ingredient recipe to make up or exceed the difference. The only thing is that the sausage-based recipes are typically good since their base values are higher than most other ingredients at that same rarity "tier".

You can use it Sunday night and as long as you go to bed before the time you used the ticket (the previous Sunday night) on the next Sunday night before the ticket runs out, you could get up to 8 hungry Pokemon the following Monday. I suppose you could do this on Monday as well, I saw a video talking about it but wasn't clear on why using it on Sun was important. I have done the ticket thing and I can confirm that I had seven hungry Pokemon show up the day after the ticket ran out so that's neat. I don't think you need to use a friend incense either.

good evening gentlemen
>>
>>54545699
How about this as a PG++ owner
>go to bed the usual time
>close game and change the timezone past 4AM
>start game
>choose a new area to research
>receive berries for new area overnight
>sleep research is still from sunday sleep in old area
Would this work?
>>
>>54546015
What exactly are you trying to do?
In order to choose a new area, you have to end your last week's research progress. And the game needs to track actual time to do research and for your pokemon to gather stuff, not just flopping your time zone.
The only reason to do the 4am thing is to carry Sunday's boosted dinner into your new area.
>>
>>54546141
From my understanding the PG++ tracks time either separately or not at all, it does feel like it has an internal clock that gets synchronized to your phones current clock settings. I'm no whizkid/hacker to confirm this.
Also I switched area before ending my sleep time on multiple occasions without losing time on my research. I wake up 5AM get ready for work and end my sleep around 6AM. Around 8AM do my sleep research by manually connecting to the peripheral before I start working. The game acts on the time settings from the phone, last week around 1AM when I woke up I moved my timezone to a zone where it was 4 AM and was allowed to move. The time slept or the research done didn't change at all, my score was still S for the entire week.
It does sound like a "bro trust me", I was only curious if the good camp ticket would suddenly lose hours due to timezone scumming, but I'll avoid doing this and test it after good sleep week.

>drops 14 ingredients like it's nothing

Holy shit, are all evolved mons this good?
>>
>>54546327
Generally yes because evolution causes their main skill to increase 1 level.

It's actually preferable to get Igglybuff over Jigglypuff, because you get two evolutions to reach Wigglytuff.
Inversely, this means when you befriend an already fully evolved Pokémon that you miss out on the main skill gains.

This is part of why Butterfree is so damn good. It's a berries specialist with a really good main skill and easy to fully evolve (in-line with the main series).
