What is Pokémon Sleep?
Pokémon Sleep is a sleep tracking app that utilizes your smartphone and/or the Pokémon Go Plus + device to record data as you sleep. In doing so, you'll be able to meet a variety of Pokémon and fill out your Sleep Style Dex.

Be sure to post your Researcher ID so that you can add and share candy with fellow Anons. We are currently locked to having a total of only fifty friends but hopefully this will change in the future.

That kind of defeats the purpose. If they do it'll probably be an item that invites pokemon of certain sleep types regardless of your nightly sleep type.

I want dozing but it's been so long. I'm at the beach because I want Pinsir and just need 3 more points. Come home my lovely beetle friend.

Problem is it just simply isn't accurate; I've changed nothing in my sleeping habits nor with the phone's position on the bed, but 2 weeks ago it leaned toward slumbering constantly and now it just won't get off dozing or balanced. There are nights I haven't even woken up to piss and it still considers me dozing.
>>
>>54474451
It compares to previous data and it does this (I assume) in order to give you a better variety of pokemon. Otherwise people would tend to get locked into a certain style anyways and have no way to escape it.

I really wish the failure-to-track remedies existed as more than a manual time input.
You only get energy recovery and an additional daily biscuit on your next tracked session. But then you miss out on your pokemon gathering at full strength during the night, EXP, and of course your research with any opportunity for new pokemon spawns and the dream shards from that. And you can't even try to double-track on the same day, since the previous day is essentially locked out.

Redpill me on Cooking Power-Up S. Unless you're exclusively adding Soothing Cacao or higher value ingredients, it will always have less value than a proc of Charge Strength M of the same level. And this doesn't factor in the cost of using that many more ingredients each time and having to use another Pokemon just to farm for those rare and high-value ingredients.
>>
>>54475017
I know that feel bro.
That happened to me on Good Sleep Night and I only got maybe 15 minutes recorded before the app shat itself.
Only solution so far is to prevent it from happening next time.
>tfw I used two EXP incenses on that night
yes, I still mad
>>
>>54475621
Because not many pokemon even have Charge Strength M, let alone the help frequency to use it very often. Unless you're literally scraping by with ingredients to fill your pot, chances are you'll always have excess that you can feed in. Not to mention Sunday bonus pot size and some recipes that require more space than you may normally have available.

Honestly I think you should get at least 1 free random hungry pokemon per day. Given that you get only the 1 free cookie and your spawns are capped by at 2 recordings at maximum, divided by the number of hours you slept, it takes forever if you don't spend extra biscuits.

Can any experts help me? I started sunday and saved up enough points for a master ball. Should I buy it or just spend on regular cookies? I was also thinking of staying on greengrass instead of going to the newly unlocked cyan next week. Is that advisable or not? Also, how do the main skills get triggered? Will I have more chances to trigger them by clicking on my mons often throughout the day? Or are the skills on a timed cooldown or something? General tips are obviously also welcome!!

Testing has shown that it doesn't do anything atm. devs haven't acknowledged it or anything, so it's either getting stealth patched, the devs aren't aware it's broken, or those testing it had flawed data. We don't really know which.

>>54479433
You should always have at least 1 master biscuit on-hand, just in case. Stay on Greengrass until you can put together a decent team of fairy, flying, and water-type pokemon, since those correspond to the snorlax's favorite berries on Cyan Beach. As for main skill triggers, it's complicated, but clicking on your pokemon more often isn't going to make them trigger more often and its not a set cooldown either.

Thank you! What are the pokemon I should consider using the masterball cookie on? It would suck if I used it on a pokemon with a shit nature or something
>>
>>54479604
Getting a shitty nature/subskills is going to always be a risk. Right now, most people use their master balls on pokemon like Ditto or Absol, since they require a lot of points to befriend and they don't evolve, so you can't just evo your way up to them. Its for this same reason its typically not worth using a master ball on a stage 2 or 3 pokemon, since you can just find a stage 1 with a good nature/subskills for a fraction of the investment and evo your way up.

It really depends on what you have available. I have 5 pokemon that drop 2 berries Snorlax prefers and they do better than my team with skills and ingredients because they're more consistent. Meal contributions add up if you can hit all 3 meals and/or get a lucky tasty meal.

You get a 5% bonus each week per location so that helps too. Not sure what the cap is on that but it's at least 35% which is essentially a free passive extra meal and 8 hours of berries.
>>
I've started using this app 2 days ago to motivate a better sleep schedule. Anons who have been using it for a while - how did this work out for you? Also, going for 8 hours of sleep consistently makes me wake up very sleepy, but after 6 hours of sleep I can practically leap out of the bed after awakening. Any tips on how I should go about this?
>>
>>54481974
The app is quite good for motivating you to sleep by gamifying it, I give a lot of props to the pokemon company for trying this because sleep is something you spend a third of your life doing and it's constantly overlooked when it comes to health.
Exactly 8 hours of sleep you typically have you waking up in the middle of a sleep cycle owing to your extra sleepy feeling. Try going for 7.5 or 9 hours.
Alternatively the app has it's own alarm feature that attempts to wake you at the optimal time at the end or beginning of a cycle.

Alright so is the goal to dump all your candy on exp down nature pokemon before they patch it?

>>
>>54482261
>Fixes to an issue that caused the effects of Pokémon Natures not to be reflected when candies were used to give EXP
Doesn't state it directly, but it does sound like it. I only use candy on the 8/10 or closer to perfection.
EXP down is the only nature that has no downsides once your perfect pokemon is lvl 100, so they want to find more incentive that a player spends more time/money
>>
>>54482225
Depends on the specialisation and line.
Berry specialists want speed of help above all else and are really hindered by ingredient finding.
Ingredient specialists care more about ingredient finding and maybe 1 inventory skill.
Skill pokemon want skill chance and level up mostly.

There are outliers like Slowpoke. Skill specialist pokemon with an unimpressive main skill. They are 1 of 2 species that can give Slowpoke tails. Finding a slowpoke that give slowpoke tails as level 30 and 60 ingredients with increased ingredient chance is solid despite being off-specialty.

Post some pokemon so we can shit on your bad rolls and give more concrete advice.

Honestly I would hold off on most purchases so that you can get your best value. If you plan on still getting a Good Camp Ticket, you'll want to use it during the Full Moon week (once per month), where you get a few days of boosted EXP and Snorlax points.
You do accumulate gems via achievements and weekly bonuses, but as a paid resource, they're valuable to keep around. I've spent a little, but that was just on storage space.

>>54483435
Ah, that's all I've bought with them too, just a little space. Thanks for the tip, I'll keep it in mind. Didn't know about the boosted week.

>I was also thinking of staying on greengrass instead of going to the newly unlocked cyan next week. Is that advisable or not?
you would need to hit at least master in GreenGrass before you go to the Beach. since it gets harder and harder to get higher ranks on the new islands. also do you have enough recipies saved up? like if you go to a new island and you get salads you might not have a good time if you've never cooked that stuff before. nobody knows the rest, sometimes main skills go off every hour sometimes you wont get a proc all day.
>>
>>54479604
also if you ever see a shiny pokemon, you only need to feed it 1 regular biscuit to befriend it.

Yesterday my two Wigglytuff went crazy and proc'd a lot after a nap that by the time I went to sleep, they still had 110% in energy. After waking up and the two proc'd again, their energy became 128%. So now I'm wondering whether the energy just don't decrease during sleep or it's just a bug?
>>
>>54482163
You're doing it right. Like the other Anon said, if the level 10 subskill is an immediate benefit just hit 10 and continue hoarding. At friendship 10 (meaning catch 9) they start getting guaranteed gold subskills in the level 10 slot. At this point you can start investing in the good ones. Play the long game and you'll come out ahead.
>>
>>54484914
Speaking of, would be nice to get slumbering or balanced again so i can collect more pichu.
>>
Would this Eevee lend itself particularly well to any specific Eeveloution or would any be fine? Its the first somewhat decent one I've come across.
>>
Oh you fucker my first berry finding at level 10
Honestly could have been worse
>>
>>54485004
For balanced just log a fake a midday nap. For slumbering, "sleep" while you do your normal nightly bedtime routine and keep the phone on the head-side corner opposite of the side you wake up on. Using this pic from the game, put your phone there if you tend to wake up on the left side of the bed. It tracks sleep almost immediately (about 6 minutes to "slumber") while you do other things so your score goes up too. I tend to put the phone down for the night about 1.5-2 hours before I actually go to bed so I start with a decent chunk of slumber and usually get upper 90s-100 scored. I do wake the screen about 45 minutes after starting and again before actually sleeping so it registers a little movement.

If you want more snoozing then put it on the same side you wake up on, and for dozing I put it more by my waist so all arm and leg movement gets logged.
>>
>>54485206
Since it's got early berry finding, I'd go for Sylveon or Espeon, since neither Fairy nor Psychic have a berry specialist atm. With the ingredient finding down nature, it makes for a pretty great off-build.
>>
Anyone know if there is any advantage to not evolving, such as lower cost for leveling as it is in some cases with the main series (I thought this was a thing, anyway)? I know there are disadvantages to stay unevolved, but just curious if maybe I should keep my negative XP babies as they are for now.
>>
>>54485414
almost pure downsides to staying unevolved apart from vigoroth evolving, as i understand it
>>
>>54485414
Not really, except for Swablu if you for some reason want to keep the Flying-type berries vs Dragon-type when it evolves. And also Vigoroth slowing down its helping speed once it evolves into Slaking. And I guess you can count Eevee changing its berry-type and Skill depending on which you evolve it into.
But pretty much everything (except Slaking) gets faster help speed and carrying capacity. EXP is the same regardless of its evolution state.

Alright, thanks for the spoonfeeding guys. So if I were to get a slakoth or vigoroth, is slaking something to avoid altogether or is it better at other things than vigoroth is?
>>
Damn, my igglybuff was at over 50 hours and now she's back to none. I just evolved a pichu. Is this evolution stat teamwide or something?
>>
>>54485727
I'm fairly certain it's not. Back then I evolve a bunch of pichu and iggly together after receiving a lot of compensation candies. Though, it's possible that some things had changed.
>>
>>54485727
Could be a display bug. Evolved my Pichu yesterday when the evolve screen said I had 50+, but the stats below nature said 9 hours slept together.
>>
>>54485727
On a related note.. are the sleep hour evolutionary requirements shared among pokemon of the same species? Like the cookie friendship system? Or are they unique for every single pokemon of said species? Basically, can I sleep with a bad eevee and use its sleep hours to evolve a different one later on?
>>
>>54485998
I clicked evolve and nothing, even after restart. The bottom of the screen is always glitched, even for pokemon I had sleep with me the entire time I have used the app. The evolve screen reset to 0 for me and it coincided with evolving Pichu as far as I can tell. If I knew that would happen, then I would have evolved Igglybuff first.
>>
>>54486358
Never looked passed the nature until the friendship evolve. Good to know. Hopefully if you sleep with the Iggly on your team it will update your actual sleep time together. Outside of that put in a bug report and hope it gets fixed.
>>
Is this eevee worth investing in?
>>
In addition to the eevee, is an Ekans that never gets tired worth having? I'm still trying to figure out what to use.
>>
Guys, my PoGo++ is failing to connect to my device. It still worked yesterday. Yes, I have the GPS and bluetooth connected.

slaking is better with it's inventory obviously that's bigger. and it's main skill chance will be higher, there's some other things going on there that might show that slaking is better on some things but for now i think people just prefer vigo. that might change
>>
>>54486821
it's worth having on days snorlax want's poison berries. they carried me so hard on those weeks. ekans and arbok
>>
>>54487163
not really. as it's not likely to hit lvl 50 anytime soon. just as an ingredient finder you prob want Glaceon or Flareon or just keep it as an eevee
>>
>>54487205
>>54487212
Good to know, thanks.
>>
Is a neutral nature good or bad? Feraligatr is just my favorite so I want to know if I can use this guy
>>
>>54487258
With these subskills, I'd rather wait for the next one.
>>
>>54487258
Research EXP Bonus is probably the second best subskill in the game, just behind Berry Finder S. Reason is, your research level determines the max level of your pokemon. Ideally, you'd have Berry Finder S at 10, and Research EXP Bonus at 25.
>>
>>54487272
Unfortunate, but thanks.
>>
>>54487290
I'll keep an eye out for those two then, I don't have many pokemon yet, so it's good to know that early!
>>
>>54487313
On the bright side, Feraligatr is one of the best pokemon in the game and the beach island Snorlax always has Oran berries as a favourite, so even if you don't evolve that Totodile yet he'd still be useful to have around.
>>
>>54487335
Someone said beach always has the same berries and salads. Is that right?
>>
>>54487335
I'm on week 2, and picked the beach this time, but I read that I should be sticking around the first area for a while until I have a better team. Happy to know he's generally good, though.
>>
>>54487361
The meals can change (I have deserts right now) but the berries are fixed yes.
>>
>>54487377
Sticking to the first area is for building up variety, as the first area has the widest but shallowest pool to pull from. Since you have a favourite 'mon in feraligatr, I'd stay in the beach to get as many totodiles as you can. Catching a pokemon increases the friendship level of that species by 1, and once it reaches 10 every pokemon you catch from then on of that species will have a gold subskill at level 10 guaranteed.
>>
>>54487396
Oh shit, I didn't know that either. I just knew that friendship bars carrier over if a pokemon got full.

Is the careful nature fine for Wiggly?
I'd assume for a skill pokemon you'd want a main skill chance ^^ nature even if it won't generate the most power for snorlax.
I could really use an energy mon on the team.
>>
>>54487414
It was something discovered recently. I haven't confirmed it myself as my sleeping is erratic and I can't catch shit lmao
>>
>>54487425
Yeah, that's a fine support 'mon for early game, which everyone is in. Anyone building for late-game when nobody can reach level 50 pokemon yet, let alone 100 is playing wrong.
>>
>>54487419
If they were both Squirtles at the same level, I'd say go with the right, but they're so similar overall that I wouldn't waste the resources getting the second one up when it isn't enough of an improvement.
>>
>>54487439
I know that all too well, I usually just sleep 4-5 hours and always see the same handful of pokemon. Except for Totodile.
>>
>>54487419
Your modest squirtle will start to under-perform the blastoise for ingredient finding by the time you get it to level 25.
I'd stick with what you already have already.

did the nature screw this Caterpie?
>>
>>54488595
No, the lack of berry finder did
>>
>>54488616
but Caterpies are for ingredients, aren't they?
>>
>>54488624
No, the Caterpie line favors berries. Says so at the top, and is why it gets 2x berries at its base level. Ingredient pokmon get 2x ingredients at their base level and have increased ingredient gains at level 30 and 60 compared to other types. I still don't know how "Skill" pokemon play into things since that isn't quantified yet, but I assume it has something to do with skill activation rate.
Pokemon active skills are more like a bonus than anything else due to how randomly they trigger.
>>
>>54487445
I'm keeping a team of research exp up mons for the long game. A 30% boost to hit level caps isn't negligible

It gives you a candy of whatever pokemon they select as their highlighted pic. Every level up with someone gives a handy candy s too. For reference, I tried to be solo for about 5 weeks and made more progress in the week that I've had about 40 friends than that entire time solo.

Since help speed is based off of the base help speed, I'm thinking that eventually skill trigger will win out overall in terms of usefulness. The help speed is more apparent on slower pokemon, but of course you'll be better off with a mixture of both.

I have tons and tons of dream shards. More than I know what to do with.

Am I playing the game wrong? I see a pokemon that has a perk to getting more dream shards and I don't see the point at all.
>>
>>54495606
There already is a random chance of that happening.
It's actually annoying when it happens because it's always when i just toss my freebie at a hungry mon.
>>
>>54495606
That can happen, but it doesn't have a tell. Feeding a regular pokemon can multiply by 3 as if it was hungry for example, and I have seen a non-shiny pokemon insta-capture before but I can't remember if it was hungry or not, only that it got the mega heart.
>>
>>54496297
Shard costs for things like the cooking pot skyrocket as you go.
So does the shard cost for using candy to level a pokemon.
Things seem fine now, but it's easy to suddenly go from 40k to 2k
>>
>>54496297
right now candies are rare because you need them to evolve stuff
as you start gathering candies to power up your fully evolved pokemon, shard consumption is going to rise drastically. So memes like riolu and meowth might end up being useful to build in the long run.
>>
What's the most shinies anyone's seen?
I've only seen 1 so far, but my cousin plays, and I swear he has at least 7 separate species by now. It always pops up in his research.

I've only been to Cyan Beach once before, and had Salads once as well. Today I got both for the second time in 9 weeks.

Salads were my slowest week as well on Cyan, mainly due to having no proper Slowpoke/king and not having any of the lvl 30-only ingredients available. I eventually gave up and went for the Ingredients proc, which went faster than Slowpokes Cacoa farm and farmed for the lower level dishes.

>>54503389
I put a cubone(10) and charmeleon(19) on a team with butterfree/wiggly/croconaw
>>
>>54503443
so... no?
>>
>>54503361
>go to taupe for the first time
>it's salads
>for the 4th week in a row
I don't care anymore, I'm sick of looking at grass and I need just one more sleep style to unlock the snow area. Charmeleon can't reach level 30 soon enough, I'm so sick of having to drag Larvitar along for the gingers.
My Butterfree is starting to fall off, though wiggly keeps getting better and better.

>wiggly
For the energy? Do we have calcs for what it even does?

Also day 2 of no ability activations. Idk what is going on with my Pokemon. I evolved eevee too vaporeon 2 days ago and it didn't activate once. The only activation was my skill trigger s wartortle with a skill chance boosting nature, and only once.
>>
Well, I got a Croconaw on the last night there, but I think it sucks. At least compared to the totodile I already had.
>>
>Snorlax wants Persim berries this week
rattata bros... it's time
>>
I can use two sub skill seeds on this I guess.
Worth using? I’m considering Glaceon or Sylveon
>>
>wake up
>see two half-filled mons
>feed one
>the other one is now empty
I think I just confirmed that pokemon are both particles and waves at the same time
>>
>>54504519
Are you intending to get it to 100? Otherwise why would you use this one?
>>
>>54504653
Skill Trigger with a Skill nature on a Skill pokemon seems good
>>
>>54503898
>For the energy? Do we have calcs for what it even does?
Wiggly gives energy to everyone, and if it has main skill chance + and skill triggers it pops off keeping your pokemon's energy in the green as long as possible which means your pokemon gather even faster. I've been using one too and its pretty insane. staying in the green until bedtime (potentially) is just nuts
>>
>>54504519
yeah glaceon is fine if you want to use that one. how often do you really need that ability to proc anyway on any given day

Should I get good, or just accept defeat and move to beach?

>>54504934
whats your team like? maybe we can help
>>
>>54504519
i wouldn't want double ingredient finder subskills on a berry finding s skillmon
>>
>>54504955
Last week's team, had oran, chesto and drinks
>>
>>54504746
>main skill chance + and skill triggers it pops off
Why is my Wartortle not getting me anything? It's been out for 2 days and hasn't gotten a single activation.
>>
>>54505096
apparently some main skills have higher activation %, also they're connected to helping speed, so if people have the good camp ticket they're going to get more activations than f2p

>Literally none of my pokemon provide the berries he wants.

Fuck's sake, I really need to expand my roster
>>
>>54505010
yeah that's what I would have done, that team. I don't see why you didn't hit masters w/it yet. What about the team you're using for this week? or is it the same one? have you tried using the strength/team calculator yet?
>>
>>54505096
if you can use a subskill seed on that wart i bet it'll happen more often.

How do we know when that full moon week or whatever is?
>>
Spent a week in Taupe and feel like I got nothing out of it. Granted I don't have a team set up for it, but trying to dredge through Greengrass for a full team would have taken even longer. I only picked up 4 pokemon in the week and only one of them is even decent. I was planning on getting enough styles to unlock my next pot upgrade, but still made it out 1 shy.
Back to the beach I guess.
>>
>>54505010
That's just too many ingredient pokemon. I assume you were basically overflowing with ingredients, so even a neutral berry farmer would have gotten you more points overall.
>>
>>54505524
Last time it started the day before the full moon on half (1.5x) power
I think, keep a check when the next full moon starts.
If it was like the previous time, we should see a News item for Good Sleep Day this week.
>>
So does helping bonus actually not do anything and I'm just wasting a slot on my team?
I've had a jolteon with helping bonus on lvl 10 for the past few weeks and have been passing other mons for it just for that.
Also almost perfect diglett.
>>
>>54505524
Next full moon is September 29
>>
>>54506148
that is a sexy diglett

the reward for lvl 5 will be better right? r-right?

Holy shit im glad its the new week finally, I ended up at ultra 1 with an F grade for the week
>>
>>54506527
How are you getting F grade? I haven’t gotten below A since the game dropped.
>>
>>54506527
Ha, I got an E.
>>
>>54506543
How are you getting A? My sleep is done consistently at the same time, similar lengths, changing just depending on work or wfh and longer sleeps for the weekend, and I'm only getting a B every week since I started.
>>
>>54506893
The keyword is literally "consistency." Sleep the same every single day
